Great ambience, beautiful lakeside terrace, friendly service, not cheap but worth it, all in all top

It's a shame that dogs aren't welcome at Seehaus Hopfen. Our experience shows that truly good restaurants are distinguished by the respectful and straightforward way they treat all guests, including their four-legged friends. Where dogs are welcome, the service is usually attentive, the atmosphere is warm, and there's greater understanding of guests. A ban on dogs in a restaurant often says more about the establishment's attitude than any menu. If family dogs and their owners are only allowed outside, even in cool temperatures, this is a poor reflection of the restaurant.

Very nice ambience with a view of the Hopfen Lake

We've been living in Füssen for some time now and have been happy so far... we treat ourselves to a good meal every now and then. Unfortunately, the service and ambiance have been extremely poor since this spring! The service staff are moody and poorly managed, and the ambiance now also leaves much to be desired... calcified vases with a pitiful flower decorate the table! Hopfen am See is the flagship hotel next to Neuschwanstein Castle, but the Seehaus with its absolutely prime location is unfortunately embarrassing!!!

Not very customer-oriented Although only four of the 40 tables were occupied, we were turned away and weren't given a seat for two. The family of five behind us also hadn't made a reservation but were given a table. You don't have to understand that. We found a friendly restaurant a few meters away.

From the chef to the scenery, to the food – everything is perfect. The location exudes a holiday atmosphere. Great food, with perfectly balanced ingredients, and superbly served.

The very overpriced food was really bad for the price. The onion soup, potato gratin, and Provençal vegetables were completely oversalted, making it taste uninspired. The zander was grilled far too long and was therefore hard and dry. It was also grilled in the same fat as the steak or veal schnitzel before it. All three of us were totally disappointed. And that was 170 euros for three people. But our service was very nice. All in all: far too expensive for the poor quality. A real shame given the atmosphere.

Very nice location! It's a great place to linger. The portions aren't that large (but they're still very tasty)—something to keep in mind when visiting. The prices are a bit higher than usual—but that's understandable given the location.

Without high expectations, I ate what was undoubtedly the best steak I've ever eaten here. No cutting required; your knife practically sinks into it. I'm curious if others experience the same; if so, this restaurant is a must-visit.

We only had a drink. The service today was so slow... and at times moody and distracted. Two employees, including the manager himself, were looking for carp in the Hopfensee instead of taking care of us. The ambiance and the view of the Hopfensee are top-notch.

Great restaurant right on Lake Hopfensee—both a beautiful interior and an extremely nice terrace directly above the lake! A stunning panorama of the Alps! It's certainly also very beautiful at sunset—although we were there in the afternoon! Great and comfortable lounge chairs on the side terrace! The dishes are of high quality. Reservations are recommended, though!

Unfortunately, the service doesn't do justice to the location and price. The location is very nice. The food is excellent. Unfortunately, the portion of fries is so small that €6 is almost outrageous. We were made to wait at the entrance and were eyed with suspicion because we didn't have a reservation.

We ordered octopus, salmon, zander and grilled shrimp as entree. The octopus was prepared sous vide and most tender we’ve had. The salmon was moist and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. We devoured them too quickly so didn’t take any pictures. The environment was romantic and relaxing. The staff was friendly. Best dining experience during our trip to Bavaria.

Sensational location with top service and delicious food

Stop in for lunch and was immediately amazed with the view over the small lake and mountain backdrop. Drinks were great and the food was better than the view!! Do yourself a favour and go, you will not be disappointed!

Impossible reception at the restaurant reception, they seem to want to avoid work and send everyone to the beer garden for self-service

We went to the beer garden because the restaurant was closed for a wedding. The menu was rather limited and a bit fast-food-like. The taste was average; the ambiance was pleasant.

Well, a really cool location. Relatively new but still charming. Right on the lake with a great (partially heated) terrace. Unfortunately, the reception wasn't so great. We had requested seats by the window (only available via OpenTable). Unfortunately, this request was not honored (despite plenty of free tables). The host, in knee-length breeches and Haferl shoes, unfortunately made a very uninterested, extremely bored, and unprofessional impression. Neither a "welcome" nor a "bon appetit" was his only remark. Not a good start! The menu, in any case, was very well balanced. We each had a side salad, followed by pasta (very al dente) with shrimp (excellent) and strips of beef (unfortunately very firm...). Before the meal, we were served some white bread with a cream (?? There was no explanation). To start, we had two mules, which were delicious, perhaps the Italian Mule a bit too sweet. When we asked for wine, we were referred to the menu. There were only three red wines listed 😞. A shame. We would have preferred something more unusual. As we left the restaurant, we noticed that they had a wine cabinet at the entrance with a nice selection of wines... Paying etc. was cool and easy. We were politely thanked for the 12% tip. This restaurant definitely has potential. But the staff who deal with customers really need to put in a bit more effort. Unfortunately, not so. We would go again. Hmm. I'd try the terrace with a coffee and, if the staff is up to par, eat there too. As I said, the location and food are attractive.

A fantastic restaurant! The ambiance is absolutely fantastic, the view of the mountains is breathtaking! All the staff and the chef are extremely attentive and friendly. The food was excellent, whether it was the first course, the appetizer, or the main course, everything was fresh, delicious, and perfectly prepared. I've rarely eaten so well and felt so comfortable at the same time! The dessert was a chocolate dream! I can absolutely recommend the Seehaus.

Nice self-service beer garden... not exactly cheap, but okay for the view.

Unfortunately, the service was unsatisfactory. The staff is not customer-focused and leaves guests standing at the entrance waiting for over five minutes before being seated. Meanwhile, you are looked down upon, and the staff simply walks past you. Even with a reservation, we were asked to wait (with the outdoor terrace completely empty). After being shown to our table, we had to wait at least another five minutes for our drink menus, which in a good restaurant usually happens while the seating is being served. Ingredients run out before 8 p.m., and no alternatives are offered. The one star is only for the view and the restaurant's design. With a different, friendlier, and more customer-focused staff, it could be a nice place to relax, but unfortunately, you sit there with a tense feeling and feel very out of place. We will definitely not be coming back.

Super friendly staff, fast service. Because of the rain, we were able to move our table under a roof so we still had a perfect view of the lake and the surrounding mountains. We didn't order food, but from the neighboring tables, it looked and smelled delicious. Thanks for that.

Not too big portions for a lot of money. Extra charge of no less than 6 euros for fries or salad. In addition, at least 20 minutes waiting for the bill. Really a shame for such a nice place. Just too few good staff

The food was reasonable but not in line with the price. That the waiter with the crazy walk found it necessary to exchange the large vase of flowers on our table with a small vase of cross-eyed tulips in order to put the large vase on the table of a pink angry patjepeër shows that they did not understand the concept of hospitality well.

A truly fantastic location! A truly lovely atmosphere – you immediately feel at home. We arrived without a reservation. The super friendly team arranged a great table for my sister and me, where we could sit and relax. We'll definitely be back! :)

Eating on the terrace with a beautiful view was a delight. The service was impeccable. We brought our dog, and a bowl of water was provided. I highly recommend this place!

Small snacks, self-service OK, nice seating with a view of the lake.

We walked into the restaurant unsuspectingly. A waiter immediately whistled back and asked us if we could read. He was quite rude and told us we were stupid. First, we were told that everything was reserved, even though we only wanted a quick drink. We were then given a seat on the terrace anyway. The gentleman who served us was very nice. The only thing was, the seat was really disgusting. We were next to a glass wall with thousands of dead flies stuck to it. Unfortunately, we didn't take a photo, how stupid, but we certainly won't be coming back. We had a cocktail and an ice cream cone, which were delicious. The atmosphere was great, except for the flies and the terrible service. Oh, and the reserved seats were still empty at the end... ridiculous.

In terms of location and atmosphere, it's a truly great place. The staff is friendly, and the prices are a bit on the higher side. All in all, definitely worth a visit.

To be honest, I don't quite understand the hype. Although the location is, of course, top-notch. We eat out a lot and we really enjoy it, but I can't say this was the highlight. Of course, the menu is very nice, but it's also quite expensive. We knew what we were getting into, but unfortunately, I didn't like it. It tasted good, but honestly, we wouldn't go back anytime soon. Even though that was intended, I found the service very slow. Of course, you should arrive in peace, but it felt like some other tables were more interesting than ours. Let the people who want to go there often keep to themselves.

Completely satisfied. It's probably the best place on Hopfensee. We went there twice with seven people, and everyone loved it. It has style, which isn't something you can say about all the places that are right on the lake.

Luxurious lake house with high-quality food and stunning views.

A glance at the menu should have been warning enough. Burgers and fish and chips on a holiday. No, the dinner menu is also available for the evening. The service was certainly attentive, but the dust-free speakers spoke a less strained language. This is "Hans im Glück" – only with higher prices. It's all the more disappointing given the picturesque location of this restaurant. They could do more here; they could start by welcoming guests and showing hospitality. What a shame.

All in all, a truly wonderful evening at a fantastic location! The food was incredibly imaginative and tasted truly amazing! I've rarely eaten such good octopus, and the meat was tender as butter. The appetizers were also imaginative and absolutely worth the price. The whole experience, coupled with the incredible view of the Alps, was simply magnificent.

there was a male waiter in a middle aged, who was friendly and helpful. I had a steak for lunch, it was very good in medium cooked. My friend had fish. It was also good. The Lunch menu doesn’t offer as many choices as dinner menu, but they are still good enough. The atmosphere is top, the interior is very beautiful, sitting at the terrace you can enjoy view of Hopfensee and the mountains. will definitely come back again.

As soon as I entered, I had the feeling that everything was just right: the atmosphere, the orderliness, the friendly atmosphere – you immediately sense that people work here with heart and soul. The employees are attentive, helpful, and genuinely friendly, without seeming fake. You feel welcome, taken seriously, and simply in good hands. It's rare to experience such a pleasant mix of professionalism and genuine warmth. The cleanliness on site was also impeccable. Everything seemed well-maintained, well-organized, and designed with attention to detail. You can tell that someone has put a lot of thought into this – not just the outward appearance, but also the well-being of visitors and customers. What particularly impressed me was the relaxed atmosphere: no stress, no noise, simply a place where you enjoy spending time. It's often the little things that make the difference – and there were plenty of them here. I will definitely come back and can truly recommend it to anyone looking for quality, friendliness, and a positive experience. There should be more places like this!

Location great, food ok, but you shouldn't go there thirsty... the manager is a nice guy but doesn't really have an understanding of gastronomy. It's a shame...but we will definitely give the store another chance.

The gentleman on the phone just now was terribly unfriendly. Stressed, he said something about a wedding and that you couldn't make a reservation until 8 p.m. (even though the online reservation tool said otherwise). Before I wanted to say that we would be happy to come later, he simply hung up. Then just do not.

The service does not respect the customer. This coupled with the overpriced prices for unimaginative, tasteless modular food makes this restaurant a place not recommended. The only plus point is the view of the lake and the Alps.

Unfortunately we were seriously disappointed! We go here once a year for dinner with the family. It is very expensive but so far it has been worth it for us to have a nice evening once a year. The menu has changed completely over the last 2 years and there were very good dishes that are simply no longer available. Now there is a kind of modular system, everything is very overpriced. The service, which was previously the flagship next to the kitchen, is now only mediocre. Unfortunately, the good, highly professional service staff have disappeared. Instead, you are served by seasonal workers. The food was ok, nicely prepared but nothing more. But at these prices it should be sensational. It's not that anymore. It's a shame what has become of this restaurant. Unfortunately we won't be coming anymore. There are much better addresses for this price. If you demand such prices you have to deliver. Unfortunately you don't do that. In this respect, we can only advise against visiting at the moment.

Good food and drinks with a beautiful view on the lake!

We ate at the Seehaus for the second time this week. The food is great and the service can only be praised. People even recognized us. Of course I hope that we noticed positively last time🙈.

Stylish and location so far everything is good and really nice; But if you look at the reviews, in my opinion it's rather overrated in terms of service, food and price/performance ratio. Service staff are aloof and snippy if you “dare” to ask for a seat without a reservation, although we noticed throughout the evening that the occupancy was not quite as big as we were led to believe. The portions were very nicely prepared and tasted ok, but the “modular system” with which you can then put together your side dishes to go with the actual dish means that the price of the food quickly increases. The Seehaus is more for the Bussi Bussi clientele and for seeing and being seen.

My wife and I went there for lunch. The food was very tasty, the atmosphere is nice and the waiters were friendly and accommodating. If you get a table on the terrace or by the windows, you have a fantastic view over Lake Hopfensee. The lunch menu is very manageable, we didn't know what to take at first. We also found the food a bit overpriced. All in all, it was a nice and tasty lunch, although I would recommend going there in the evening as you have a lot more choice.

This is the best restaurant in the Allgäu region. The food is always delicious. Unfortunately, the service has declined somewhat in recent years. Nevertheless, we eat here for every birthday party!

We knew and appreciated the Seehaus from previous visits (food, ambience and service) and were pleased that we were able to reserve a table at short notice for Sunday lunch - and, given the nice weather, even got a table on the terrace. However, the whole thing turned out to be a disappointment because the Seehaus only offers a mini lunch menu (burgers, fish & chips and tagliatelle) on Sunday lunchtime during the holiday season, which was far from meeting our expectations (we wanted an upscale lunch). Considering our previous experiences and the beautiful location, we think that's a shame and can't say at the moment whether we'll come back again.

Very nice, well-equipped restaurant. You have a wonderful view of the surrounding landscape. A lot of effort goes into the preparation. The onion soup and tartare were very tasty. I had the liver as my main course. It was crispy and tender, yet it was over-seasoned and too salty, just like the jus that came with it. My friend ordered a beef burger and got pastrami. They said that the meat was out and that they had been serving pastrami all day without telling the customers. Very dubious. The burger was returned because it wasn't our thing, but we got dessert and 2 espressos on the house. Given the time that had passed, my friend decided not to have a replacement main course later in the evening.

Actually a nice restaurant right on the lake. Unfortunately only 2 stars because the conceited gentleman with no hair at the reception really spoiled our visit. We wanted to visit the restaurant at 3:45 p.m. for coffee and cake. Unfortunately we only got a seat in the back area even though all the seats with a lake view were free. Reason from 6 p.m. these places would be reserved and otherwise you wouldn't have enough time to reveal them. It has to be said that the place setting in this restaurant consists of 2 glasses, cutlery and 2 plates, but without a tablecloth. Apparently the gentleman at reception judged us to be so financially strong that, after a long wait, he at least let us vacate a seat in the back area. He turned away all other guests who came. The cake was ok, but nothing more. Dear manager, if you don't want to scare away more guests, you should definitely replace the man at the reception. In any case, we will refrain from visiting again (even in the evening). Given that the prices are not the cheapest, at least the reception should be friendly.

Very nice location and location. But unfortunately the service is subpar. Guests were basically thrown out of the restaurant because they complained after waiting 1 1/2 hours for their food. This waiter should actually be fired after the action! That doesn't work at all. So we have absolutely no further recommendation.

The menu that was advertised, which is why we were there in the first place, was out by the time we arrived. In addition, it was not obvious that there was a break in the hot food between lunch and dinner. And all of this on a Saturday lunchtime, when a high number of visitors can be expected. We were extremely disappointed. The alternative dishes also didn't have a large selection and were reasonably priced. We then chose another restaurant.

A wonderful restaurant, the waiters are attentive and the chefs do an exceptional job here! Pasta and meat were perfectly prepared and seasoned. If you want to see how great the cooking is here, you can simply watch the chefs through a large window in the entrance area. We'd love to come back.

A rude manager, the man who doesn't know what catering is, even though there is space inside, he says we are closed and doesn't accept people. They have money but they don't know how to run the place, unfortunately people go here and spend their money here...
