Super nice and attentive staff, very authentic and classic Italian. The food was delicious and any special requests were implemented immediately. Short waiting times. I had lovely evenings here in the restaurant. I will come back anytime and enjoy. Thanks so much

The conditions were rushed, when asked if there was cake they said no. There was still some on display. But it was then worn 5 times to guests, and of course no one wanted the way it looked anymore. The tiramisu we ordered was already past its prime. Dried cream and dry sponge cake. Loveless, overpriced station wagon. The service was very hectic and somewhat unfriendly. The ambience was nice and cozy.

We have been going to Hopfen am See for many years. Whenever you stay, you always go to the San Marco restaurant. Food 5/5 Service 5/5 Ambience 5/5 The food tastes great in every category. Whether pizza, pasta, meat, fish or salad dishes, everything is wonderful, very tasty and beautifully prepared. The service is great! Friendly staff and fast and efficient kitchen. We ordered a starter salad and bruschetta to start. The salad was huge and tasty. The pizzas were very good. A nice selection of non alcoholic beers.

We were at San Marco today 11/1/24 We had reserved a table in the morning for 7:30 p.m. - 2 adults including a wheelchair driver - it was no problem. To be on the safe side, I called one hour before making the reservation in the evening to see if it was really possible with a wheelchair - we got an answer, no problem. When we arrived we initially shrugged at the sight of the wheelchair and then asked if we had made a reservation - we said yes and gave our names and time. Then nothing happened at first and the answer was everything is full. When, after 15 minutes, tourists who hadn't made a reservation asked for a table, we were clearly tense and pointed out a little more aggressively that we had been waiting for 15 minutes and had made a reservation. After 20 minutes we got a table - otherwise we would have left. Unfortunately the space was so tight that we had to move the table to be able to sit - but luckily that was possible. The service was friendly and attentive, the food was tasty - some of the buscetta was a bit charred - but you could still eat it well. What we personally found very unfortunate was that due to the situation at the beginning (20 minutes of waiting for a table - despite a reservation) and the amount of the bill over 80 euros for starters, several drinks, main course and dessert, we were not offered grappa or anything similar when we asked for the bill got - especially since it was handled that way at the tables next to us. Maybe it was because we had two women, one of whom was a wheelchair driver, or that we were slightly annoyed at the beginning that we had to wait 20 minutes - we don't know. The 7 percent tip was happily accepted. We know it differently, but maybe we'll get an explanation as to why things went that way today. Nevertheless, we will definitely come back to the restaurant again because we are locals and, as I said, the food is delicious.

Unfortunately we were disappointed with the food, the bruschetta served with a lot of pesto, the salad with such a heavy mustard mayonnaise sauce that had more calories than the pizza... the shop is very nice and the service was very attentive despite the place being full, but the food was as mentioned not qualitative.

Whenever we (2 people, 1 small dog) are in the Hopfensee area, it is mandatory to eat at San Marco. It's a great family-run Italian restaurant, with VERY DELICIOUS FOOD. Even our dog was immediately given a blanket and water by our waitress Denise, something I've never experienced before.... THANK YOU SO MUCH DENISE. Her speed in serving is also really commendable. Always keep an eye on your guests, so that every guest feels very comfortable here. The food is always a culinary delight, whether pizza, pasta or dessert it is a dream. We will continue our sense of duty and are already looking forward to the next time at San Marco in Hopfen am See. LG from Mindelheim

There were two of us there. Unfortunately the restaurant is not worthy of an Italian. The starter was bad but the pizza and pasta were really subpar for an Italian. I don't know if the owner has ever had anything to do with Italian cuisine but unfortunately that was nothing.

Today we went to the San Marco restaurant in Hopfen am See and had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. The wonderful weather obviously contributed to the good atmosphere, but we were also completely impressed by the restaurant itself. Despite the full house, the staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was excellent and served without waiting. Particularly noteworthy was our waiter, who was not only always attentive but also funny, which gave the evening a particularly pleasant atmosphere. All in all, we can really recommend the San Marco - a perfect evening in a beautiful location. 5 out of 5 stars!

We made a reservation online 1 hour in advance and it worked out great. There was a nice space in the winter garden. We ordered a Capriziosa pizza and a Milano with a good Bardolino and before that an apple spritzer and a blackcurrant spritzer to quench our thirst. The pizza was excellent. Rarely have I had such a good pizza!! Afterwards we ordered an espresso...TOP! But surprisingly it was on the house...nice gesture! Service was very friendly and pleasant! We took a large ball of pistachio ice cream with us for a little digestive walk. Delicious! Overall, we felt very comfortable as guests, it tasted very good and that's why we'll definitely come back again. Highly recommended!

On the first day my husband had delicious steak and I had carpacchio, I don't need the salad under the carpacchio. The service was incredibly friendly and nice, blankets and water for the dogs were brought straight away. We were there normally and I had grilled squid, but it had never seen the grill and didn't taste like anything, do yourself a favor and take it off the menu. My husband had steak again and this time he wasn't happy, the steak was cooked through. The criticism was accepted, we got a grappa. Unfortunately, I also have to say that the music is sometimes very loud, at least at lunchtime.

Meat was ok, there was no salad, I had to order it separately as it was obviously not fresh. In August only half a tomato, unripe. The tablecloth was stained, so we chose a clean one for the table. Prices overpriced. Was there 6-7 years ago, wasn't enthusiastic about it, no fun now either, don't want to go there anymore

All 4 main courses tasted delicious. Portions are very large. Desserts also delicious. Despite the restaurant being full, the staff remains friendly, even if some guests are impatient (I come from the industry and know what I write about). My suggestion: 2 people orderman, 2 people just runners.

We've been coming here for 13 years now, the food is a poem, the staff and owners are loyal souls with their hearts in the right place. Always a smile on your face, never even a hint of overwork despite the full house! During our stay here at Hopfensee we ate at San Marco for the second time. What can you say, the food is super delicious, it couldn't be better! Starting with the bruschetta, pizza and salad. Particularly noteworthy is the friendliness of the entire staff. It's not fake friendliness, it comes from the heart and the good atmosphere in the team lets you come and go with a smile. We were there with our dog, who is also welcomed as a full guest (each dog gets their own blanket and a water bowl) we have never experienced anything like this before! Thanks for that, especially to the waitress from Sardinia ;-) and of course to the rest of the team!!! We'll definitely be back!

Dear San Marco team, We have been looking forward to picking up our pizzas for sundowners from you on your summer vacation for a few years now. You prepare very tasty, freshly topped and, above all, sufficiently large pizzas every time. This evening we spontaneously decided to go to go and eat in the restaurant. Here too, big compliments to you! No matter whether it was the quality of the food (there was pizza caprese, insalata pollo and a really large pizza bread), the ambience or the service (Denise looked after us perfectly): it was simply a great evening with delicious food in a super pleasant atmosphere! The nice thing is that we could also see that it wasn't a fake "seconds-friendliness". You have fun and the guests feel it (the four-legged friends don't miss out either). We are Italians. We ate 2 margherita pizzas and a classic bruschetta. The pizza dough is good, but they don't use mozzarella but Emmenthal mixed with cheese... it's not bad but not the best either! Good bruschetta but in addition to tomato, garlic, oregano and basil, there is a herb base on the bread, I didn't understand what it was... anyway it was good. Very kind and helpful staff. The thing I don't understand here in Germany is that they don't use any type of tablecloth, not even paper, while for me it's important for hygiene.

Rustic Italian with modern influences, somewhat reminiscent of his childhood in the 90s, when Michael Schumacher had his best days. Service young and attentive, portions generous, tasty and very inexpensive. Nothing to complain about. 🙂

Nice restaurant with a great lake view. However, the service was poor. First of all, we waited forever until we got the card (even though only two other small tables were occupied). Then another 10 minutes until we got the drinks. We don't order any food. We waited another 10 minutes to get the bill. So we were there for 45 minutes for 1 drink. Prices are of course not the cheapest due to the location.

We were at the San Marco yesterday because we have always been very satisfied. Unfortunately, last night wasn't so satisfactory. Upon arrival it was clear that there were a lot of wasps outside. But well, that's to be expected at this time of year. We assumed that appropriate measures would be taken against it. As soon as the drinks were consumed, it became apparent that the food should also be consumed immediately. As a starter we ordered a large mixed salad for all three of us in the middle... we were also asked whether parmesan or chili oil was needed for the main course, we asked for parmesan. Shortly after the drinks, the salad arrived. After a note from me, it was placed in the middle of the table. Additional plates for distribution, including cutlery, were missing and were added upon request. The same applied to bread… whereupon we received a roll cut into five pieces? A roll in an Italian restaurant - for three people?? This was then also billed as a bread basket??? That was a bit of an issue. The salad wasn't fully eaten when the main course was served. We tried to put the plates aside ourselves so that the dishes could be served. The parmesan that was suggested at the beginning was also missing and had to be requested again along with two spoons for wrapping the pasta. As for the meal itself, I for my part had Spaghetti Frutti di Mare... Unfortunately, I had assumed the normal way of preparation, but was proven otherwise as I was given a seafood sauce containing tomatoes and carrots. I had to open a whole shrimp that was buried under the pasta with my fingers. With cutlery it would definitely have slipped off the plate and was then covered in sauce on my fingers. There were also parts of tagiattele in the spaghetti. When I was dumping it, I noticed that it just means you tell him Koch was appreciated. Regarding the wasps mentioned at the beginning, I would like to say that thinner straws would be very advisable, as the insects crawl into the black stalks and can therefore not be recognized and swallowed, which, thank God, my wife only paid for with a sting in the tongue. My daughter wanted to use the toilets when she left, but decided not to because of the condition. It's a shame that the entire stay seemed like it was difficult to quickly get the table so that it could be occupied again, since we didn't really stay there long from arriving at 6:30 p.m. until leaving shortly before eight. Have a nice evening at Spending time eating wasn't really a given and only had negative connotations. Maybe the focus should be a little more on the guest and their concerns. It's a shame when initially nice evenings get such a negative touch.

Phew for 38 euros...a calzone, one pasta and a small salad... pasta unfortunately tasteless, salad only consisted of red, eggs and tomatoes were completely missing. Calzone tasted okay...a bit small.

I can't understand the above-average reviews. Our food wasn't good, I wasn't impressed with the taste. The restaurant looks nice, but upon closer inspection you notice that it is unclean. The service/friendliness of the staff is ok but not above average.

Table reserved for 7 people for 7 p.m. We had to wait 30 minutes, to make us wait again, on a table of 4, I was sitting on the sidewalk to join my group. We receive our table at 8 p.m.... very, very poor management of the room. If I knew the places I would have left but finding a restaurant for 7 is not easy. Decent pizzas, nothing more. We were offered an aperitif, that’s all.

Even as a solo traveler, I was served promptly and very friendly and was given the most beautiful table in the restaurant. The chicken breast in gorgonzola sauce with tagliatelle was delicious. Gladly again
