Schweinske Ochsenzoll in Hamburg

I can only give more than two stars to the staff themselves. I was invited in November 2025. In retrospect, that was doubly embarrassing. A portion of kale measured with milligrams during peak season, served with meat, for €21.50 is, with all due respect for the difficult situation restaurants are facing due to inflation, absolutely unacceptable. The upper limit should be €15.00. Because the quality wasn't bad, but it wasn't outstanding either. A little more restraint and a more balanced price-performance ratio should be considered if one wants to avoid the impression of being out of touch with reality.

A varied and delicious breakfast selection. Good value for money. Very good and friendly service.

We met a friend here who said the food was good and inexpensive. There were five of us, and we paid a total of €120 for food and drinks. I thought that was perfectly reasonable. I would definitely eat here again if I'm ever in the area.

I'm thrilled! Schweinske is legendary, and finally they have a meat platter with minced pork and onions for breakfast. I'm so glad they've updated their breakfast menu. I'll definitely be back!

Not so nice from the outside. We thought the shop was closed. But it's not on Schweinske, but next to the shops next door. Everything in the restaurant was great, nicely lit, and everything was clean. We received a friendly welcome and chose a seat. We ordered two breakfasts. The rolls were excellent. The sausage and cheese were fresh. Everything was well presented. We were asked twice if everything was okay or if we needed anything else. Everything was very discreet. A quick look in the ceramics department. Everything was clean there too. Soap and paper towels were all available. The price is great, compared to some bakeries that also offer breakfast.

Incredibly bad, first we waited almost an hour for the waitress, then the order was taken incorrectly and then the food was cold, despite immediately alerting us no new food and having to pay the full amount.

A great deal for a dinner, nice place and cosy atmosphere

In recent years, prices and service have moved in the opposite direction. I can no longer recommend this branch.

I'd like to take this opportunity to publicly thank you on behalf of the Alster-Roller community! For over two years, we've been meeting twice a month with up to 30 people for our regular get-together. We're always warmly welcomed, and everyone makes every effort to serve us well, despite the number of people and the requests we receive. We now have a well-coordinated team in service and the kitchen. This makes the Schweinske am Ochzenzoll a real experience for our regular get-together. Thank you! :-)

We come here regularly, especially for breakfast, and especially with two small children, the small play area makes it very relaxing. The service is always excellent and extremely friendly and accommodating, and the place is highly recommended.

Best pork! We eat there regularly and always feel very comfortable. The staff, especially the manager, are all very attentive and friendly, and always up for a pleasant conversation. The food tastes good and is lovingly prepared. We always enjoy coming back :)

My friend and I stopped by Schweinske after a bike ride. We sat outside and were greeted warmly by a young waiter. After he took our drink and food orders, it took less than 15 minutes for everything to be served. We had schnitzel with fried potatoes and currywurst with fries 🍟, nicely presented and delicious. I was once again completely satisfied. Thank you very much.

So if you could give 0 stars I would! We were there twice and were deeply disappointed both times... the first time it took over 45 minutes before we were even greeted and asked what we wanted to drink. The second time was really the height... the restaurant was almost empty and yet there was old food on all the tables and nothing was put away by the employees. There was a mixed salad scattered on the floor, but no one felt responsible for cleaning it, they just stepped on it... This time too no one greeted us and we were ignored, even though only 5 tables were occupied. After 30 minutes of waiting for an employee we left. Never again! You can really spend your money better there!

Always good for home-baked dishes. Whether it's schnitzel, roast pork or a farmer's breakfast, there is home-style cooking for everyone. Nice and courteous staff.

We will come again, keep it up.

I visited Schweinske Langenhorn late this afternoon because I hadn't eaten anything all day and was looking forward to a classic pork schnitzel, Schweinske's flagship dish. Unfortunately I was a bit disappointed. With a good schnitzel, I expect the breading to be souffled, so it's nice and airy and fluffy. Here, however, it was very greasy and not as crispy as I remembered from Schweinske. However, the service was very friendly. The waiter was quite new, but tried very hard to please the guests. Since everyone starts somewhere, I don't want to judge it negatively. Because of the fatty schnitzel, I can only give it 3 out of 5 stars this time. I hope that my next visit to Schweinske will again offer the schnitzel experience that I know from before.

We always enjoy coming here! The staff is super friendly and attentive, and special requests or allergies are no problem. The food and cocktails are very tasty. There is also enough choice for vegetarians. In addition, the price-performance ratio is right – simply top all around!

Long waiting times Wait 30 minutes to order

We didn't just eat, drank coffee, the waitress was really annoyed and had to change jobs

Everything tasted delicious, the service was very friendly and we were provided with drinks and breakfast very quickly. Restaurant tastefully decorated. Everything was fine. We'll definitely be back.

The food is good so far and the portions are sufficient. The service is super nice and on the ball. The restaurant is spacious and offers enough space. Behind the house there is a communal parking lot together with the adjacent restaurant.

Staff overwhelmed, unfriendly. After 45 minutes the lady came to the table and said that we had finally picked something out. She was rude everywhere but not with us. There were drinks, I forgot about her. A tea. Food wasn't good, schnitzel was very hard and cold, small pancakes were old and old. At the end, when it came to paying, I pushed She put my nephew aside for 9 years and said I didn't need space. There was no drink. It's a shame...

Schweinske is and remains Schweinske. As always, the ambience is rustic with pig paintings. The portions became smaller but more expensive. Service more intrusive than attentive. What I've never experienced anywhere else was the question: "Do you want to pay?" and a repeated request to do so. There were only 5 tables occupied. When I asked, there was no shift change. We each had a main course with a drink. The fact that we were there for 3 hours after visiting a cemetery couldn't be the reason as we didn't block a table. It felt more like we were being accused of carousing. Some time after paying, we said: “We have paid!” gone. Conclusion: It probably depends on the appearance of how you are treated. Because we were very nice, friendly, polite and gave tips.

Only half was delivered. As compensation there was a Pepsi and a larger portion of Kaiserschmarn. Food itself was ok.

The service is simply great!!!!!

We just had 2 x Fritz pork and 1 Caesar salad delivered. The schnitzels were good but the salad (the green part) was completely sandy, so it didn't wash off. After about half of it I didn't feel like chewing on grains of sand anymore. The last complaint went unanswered - so we will no longer order there.

I used to be here with my mother, who has unfortunately now passed away, and I would like to remember that time at the table, although the quality of the food isn't all that important to me, as long as I like it and the price is right. Last Sunday, when I was in a bit of a hurry on my way to the airport, the waitress told me that it wasn't welcome if I came in without saying good morning, went to the basement to the toilet and then disappeared again. I apologize for my somewhat strange behavior, it shouldn't happen again. You can expect to order from me again on my next visit; I personally have never been really dissatisfied with the food here.

Schweinske is just Schweinske. Relatively inexpensive, meat-heavy food that is well made and tasty and does not claim to be upscale fare. Service was very friendly and took care of the guests. Always nice.

After the Schweinske in Fuhlsbüttel is closed, this is the second choice, Schweinske with a mini "beer garden", food tastes as always, service is friendly, I think it's good that there's always something new every now and then (I'll call it schnitzel of the month). I will try cocktails on my next visit 🍴🍹🍸

Your service, your local people are friendly, competent and very accommodating! Your offer is getting worse and worse!!!! After your last optimizations, this is no longer the piggy that I want to go to and that I'm looking forward to! There's hardly anything fresh left in your place and a large plate of stale vegetables in dip/cream cheese, or some fruit on the edge, doesn't make the whole thing any nicer!!!! Maybe I'll try it again in another branch soon, but if the new company policy is to just throw a lot of money at someone who looks good at first glance, you'll be rid of me as a customer! This originally good restaurant is being ruined by bad kitchen staff and incorrect saving methods!!!! The coffee was undrinkable! The rolls are way too dry! Bearded men (employees) from the bar and kitchen made fun of the guests! An absolute disgrace! And so incredibly unfortunate for me! I really enjoyed being there for many years!

And then came fried potatoes...dude 🙈🙈🙈 “Love made” is something completely different...and the Hamburger Schnitzel...next time...I won't wait 54 minutes for a schnitzel with fried potatoes...which don't look anything like fried potatoes...are endlessly greasy ...and a simple fried egg...over €15 for that...really sad Next time...no matter how ready I should be...the price/performance ratio...isn't worth ordering again... A PITY

The best sour meat, fried potatoes with a fried egg and a small salad. The traditional Fassbrause, original, is only available at Schweinske. Plus, almost enough spare ribs, this and more. It is worth it ..

Attention, real mess at Schweinske! We had dinner at Schweinske today. My husband ordered a burger. For my son there was a side dish of potatoes with sour cream €5.50 and I had a potato with sour cream and turkey €10. 1. over 10% increase in the price of potatoes previously €8.90 (September 2023) 2. You sell a potato with quark as a side dish and a potato with curd and a few strips of turkey as a dish, you are making a complete fool of yourself. The ratio doesn't match at the back and front. It was absolutely my last visit to Schweinske and I would advise against it. Go somewhere else where it's better. With a little salad on the side you really don't have to break a tooth out of your crown and that's what we used to have. 3. Don't come with the argument that the tax was made higher than 7% and it wasn't made cheaper for the customer. One star because the food tastes good, there is a good subway connection, parking spaces, changing table, toddler play area and high chairs. Not suitable for wheelchair users If you want to go to the toilet, stairs. Despite the complaint, the waitress was calm and professional and offered a drink and a salad afterwards, but we were full because of her bad mood. In the end, there's nothing you can do about it. In total we paid €40 including drinks.

We had dinner there in the evening. The food was average to good and the atmosphere was relatively relaxed (although the walls look like a nightmare) and the shop itself is very dirty (the upholstery is always dirty and the chairs are sticky). At the end we saw mice running around IN THE STORE. When we asked the staff about it, they took it with humor and said that they had known about it all day. Absolutely irresponsible and disgusting. In my opinion we should have at least been reimbursed for the meal. We both left the store with stomach aches. Incredibly disappointed and outraged.

A restaurant that really takes some getting used to. + The food and service were fine - quality was average. + The connection to the subway is very good and there are enough parking spaces - The clientele (certainly due to the location near the psychiatric hospital) had very behavioral problems and some of the guests were unpleasantly drunk. - The noise level was very high, making it difficult to have a conversation. Conclusion: We will definitely go to Schweinske again, but next time we will go to Eppendorf.

Waiting for breakfast in an empty shop for 35 minutes a week speaks for itself. When asked, the waitress reacted annoyed. Breakfast is becoming less and less, but more expensive.

That was such a shame that in North Rhine-Westphalia, for example. does not exist in Mönchengladbach. Daughter was thrilled with these robber plates. Full marks for child-friendliness. It will be a must when we are back with mother in Hamburg or something like that. Thank you mfg

Frühstück: Ich mag die Brötchen, das Rührei war lecker und der Kaffee schmeckte auch. Die Bedienung war feundlich und es war in Ochsenzoll nicht so laut, wie in den anderen Filialen von Schweinske. Und an den Preisen gibt es auch nichts zu meckern.

Sie haben sich sehr verändert und versuchen fast alle Extras umzusetzen, es gibt hier eine Servicekraft mit schwarzen langen Haaren diese Dame ist so so soooo nett und zuvorkommend. Danke das sie da sind.
