The location is ideal, the food is the best I've had in Germany, and the service is unbeatable. I asked for a takeout box for my leftover food, and the chef accidentally threw it away, so they made me another plate to take with me. The waiter was super nice.

Went here on Sunday and received the last seat inside. Very, very nice waitress. Wife had a Haxen mit Bratkartoffeln and me the Jumbo Sausage with Bratkartoffeln , both with Altbiersauce. For a Restaurant in the Old City Center with many tourists, the food was really good and we received good value for money. I recommend visiting, also for non German speaking people since everyone was helpful and spoke in English language.

La maleducazione fatta persona.Siamo arrivati con amici e sistemati su uno sgabello in sala.Al primo posto “normale” che si è liberato abbiamo chiesto di essere spostati e lì è uscito il massimo della maleducazione .Con arroganza e in una lingua lontana dall’inglese ci ha mandati al “bel paese”.Cosi ho fatto..nei locali l’accoglienza è fondamentale e qui non è di casa.Ci sono mille altri posti in Düsseldorf in cui mangiare quindi no problem.

No appropiate policy for the disabled. Walked in for a „Schweinebrötchen“ with walking aids and asked for a seating place. I was the only customer, all seats unoccupied. Not possible, because that is only for take away. I offered to buy an additional drink…no way. There is another place for Schweinebrötchen around the corner with polite personnel. As a disabled Person I‘d suggest that one. Still puzzled about what happened. Is that a kind of german thing, to stick to rules whatever comes or was that offensive…

Was weer dikke prima. Een heerlijke schnitzel gehad voor een prima prijs. Binnen vrij klein maar dat is wat het is. Personeel is erg vriendelijk.

If you like knuckle you are in the ideal place

Terrible place, don’t go there. There is one so much better only 5 minutos away, the name is HAM HAM by Josef. The cooker, (bald sr), is super rude. He treats you like trash. He didn’t even let us sit inside after we buy food. I just don’t understand. Then, after all the worst service the food was dry.

Love the whole-in-a-wall vibe, the crackling sound of the rotisserie and the melt-in-your-mouth pork roast. An old-town legend that didn’t disappoint. Note that you order a sandwich (Brötchen with pork roast or something else), that’s considered a take-away and you are not supposed to take up table space with your take-away. There are very few seatings. Under 20 seats inside and 16 outside.

We were really looking forward to a relaxing girls' night out, but unfortunately our visit to this restaurant was a disappointing experience. When the six of us came in, the first thing we heard was: "What are you doing here?" Logically we wanted to eat here. After we were assigned a table, another comment came: 'I thought they wanted a table for S€ x'. We were speechless but just ignored it. After ordering five dishes, we wanted to share them between six, which apparently didn't go down well. Unfortunately, it felt like we weren't welcome for this and comments were also made that made us uncomfortable. Comments were made like: "Their culture is different, Asians take it for granted that you simply share an extra plate or food together." What was particularly unpleasant was the fact that you gossiped about our culture behind our backs, which really hurt us. In addition, we were not provided with enough cutlery and dirty napkins, which is why we kindly asked for new ones. The response we received was that they were “already accommodating enough,” which also disappointed us. Unfortunately, the service was not as expected and we felt we were not treated with respect. We just wanted to have a nice evening and share good food, but this visit spoiled our appetite. We had only had good experiences up to that point, but after this, we probably won't visit again. The blonde lady who served us is welcome to gossip next time when the guests have left. But the food was delicious and thanks to the other very friendly waiter. I hope future guests can experience a friendlier and more respectful atmosphere.

We asked Google which are the best restaurants with national cuisine in Dusseldorf, you gave a list of 10. I don’t know how the devil tricked us into going there, but that’s how it is))) The atmosphere is like in the early films of Jackie Chan... dirty Shanghai stuff... The cutlery was all greasy and dirty... there is not enough space, you rub your shoulders against your neighbors, the stench of overcooked oil... The service is terrible... for three of us we ordered two whole shanks (it’s too big for one) and asked for an additional plate... but they refused us... we asked for bread (how can you eat something so fatty without bread???), also not allowed indoors, only for takeaway, it’s not clear why... I regretted ten times that I came there. I don’t remember that I have ever been in such a bindup in Germany. The knuckle was tasty (that’s the only thing that didn’t disappoint), but nothing supernatural, like everywhere else I really don't recommend it!

Pork sandwich with beer is a great meal anytime. Fellows pork leg a must for those who want German classic wholesome food.

Visitado después de una rápida búsqueda de auténtica cocina en la concurrida zona de Alstadt, Dusseldorf. El lugar parece pintoresco. Podrías pasar fácilmente, aunque te recomendaría que te detuvieras y le dieras una oportunidad. Habitual fayre alemana, servicio atento e informativo. Me sentí relajado y acogedor. Zona interesante frente al restaurante con un asador. Parecían nudillos de cerdo, fuera lo que fuera, lo quería todo, se veía genial. The food was very tasty and a huge plate for 2. Perfectly okay for the price. Is very small and cramped. But you can eat well there.

We really liked the food, although the place is quite small and the tables are very close to each other. If you sit near the door you can get cold... Reasonable price, but we didn't like being asked to tip the cooks.

Great central location. However we bought for takeaway and they wouldn't even let us sit on the seats outside for just 10 minutes to eat what we had purchased! I tried another place around the corner and much preferred their schweinebrotchen as well as the polite service, so would definitely go there again rather than here.

There were six people in the restaurant today. Everyone enjoyed it very much and the waiter was super friendly. We'd love to come back the next time we're let from Cologne to Düsseldorf ☺️.

Best restaurant for Pork/Schweien means…really authentic one. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. If you are traveling to Düsseldorf and a Pork lover then this place is a must try.

Very disappointed experience with the restaurant. I ordered a pork knuckle with fried potatoes. The knuckle was very small, much smaller than on the grill and especially in the picture. The potatoes are not freshly fried, and only warmed up. The service was bad. I ask for an empty plate and the server says I have to pay €8 for it. 8€ for an empty plate! There is only one draft beer. The first and third beers on the menu are no longer available. Not recommended! Avoid the restaurant!

Top location right in the city centre, top quality food, all types of pork you can imagine. Big portions too, we were stuffed! Very fast and friendly service. Overall, amazing value for money!

We met on the street in the old town, and saw about ten people queuing up outside the store, and the pork knuckles were being cooked over an open fire on site. I thought that the standard of the Nhojama store should be very good, so I walked in to give it a try. I saw the chef slowly cooking row after row of pork until it is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It is well seasoned and not too salty. It is served with sauerkraut. The meat is tender and juicy on the inside, and the skin is grilled until it is slightly burnt but very Crispy and can really be enjoyed slowly.

Inedible 'pork roll': soggy roll, overcooked meat from the liquid-filled tub under the grill, not from the grill. Tried it and threw it away, a shame about the 6 euros. And the slowest service ever at 12:00 on Saturdays for the first customers.

You are not allowed to eat the rolls on site. “It is signposted that you are not allowed to eat them there.” Unfortunately, the signs aren't easy to see and you won't be told until you sit down after purchasing. In the end, it also depends on the tone of how you say it. It was always my first port of call. Unfortunately, it was now my last visit.

We thought we had found a simple, nice restaurant based on reviews... So not... Maybe a busy period with the Christmas market, but still... we ate something with 4 people and then had two bad dishes... Wiener schnitzel was not good. And lamb chop was completely crispy. well cooked...ham was the best. Too bad it wasn't a good ending to a fun day in Düsseldorf..

We ordered 2 dishes of knuckle and 1 assorted meat for 3 adults and we ate luxuriously. It was a good day despite being November and we ate it at a terrace table. With the drink it didn't reach €85. Good atmosphere, good food and good price. Advisable

Visiting Düsseldorf we were recommended this place because it is famous for its food. From the street it is easily distinguishable, you just have to go to the place where the queue was. The place is small and the fame is great. However, we were lucky and if you speak the local language everything is easier. At night it is different, the queue is bigger. We ordered the typical stuff, knuckle, Schnitzel, Schweinebraten, all washed down with good beer. The knuckle was simply spectacular. A place to return to.

Wanted a schweinebraten for our short stay in Düsseldorf and this place had just that. Checked the website and menu beforehand which showed childrens options but when we got there, the menu was quite limited and no childrens menu. I therefore was required to order my 9yo a full adult meal which was too much and costed more as well. Meal gets served very quickly as most stuff is precooked ready plus the coleslaw/krautsalat is cold as well which i prefer to sauerkraut, this was the best part. Can't really fault the meal but the restaurant is a little shabby and didn't feel overly clean or comfortable.

Clearly not what it used to be, which is also reflected in the visitor numbers. Where you used to wait fifteen minutes, you now have an immediate seat. The snitzel was on the table within 2 minutes and was as dry as a postcard. The accompanying salad was thrown into a bowl with little love, with whole pieces of tree stump. The service clearly doesn't feel like it, they are quick to pay, while we were still eating we were served the bill without asking. Apparently it is not common for you to order a second round of drinks. Collect money and get out. Despite the good experiences we had here in the past, we will never return here.

I ate pork trotters from six places in Germany this time😅. This one is my most recommended. The skin is grilled to a crispy texture, and the meat is juicy and delicious (usually dry). The portion is also large. It is highly recommended, and there are many attractions nearby to visit.

Excellent rotisserie pork knuckle. Great fries and cabbage. Well worth the visit. I believe I first learned of this restaurant from Anthony Bourdain show.

After previous good experiences, now disappointed. Schweinehaxe was very dry, as if it was a reheated leftover from the day before. The service was unable to serve both meals at the same time.

Nice cosy restaurant focused on meat. Unfortunately they were out of T Bone but everyone enjoyed their different steaks. Service was spot on. Atmosphere was good. Cosy. Nice vibe. Staff happy to have a laugh. Def recommend.

This used to be better, but pork rolls for over €6 were unfortunately not good: the meat was unfortunately “seasoned” and the roll was too styled. Doesn't fit! Too bad. ☹️
