The service has always been bad. The place has always been shady but we’ve always accepted it because the food was great. Sadly the last thing this place had going for it has also gone. Now it’s just a shady place with exceptionally bad service. After years of going there never coming back.

Melt off the bone schweinschaxe and incredible crackling. Served with a mountain of spuds and salad. Best meal I've had in the city.

I had bought leberkase im brotchen here. and the meatloaf burger taste fantastic even though the shop was small.

The snitzel was on the table within 2 minutes and was as dry as a postcard. The accompanying salad was thrown into a bowl with little love, with whole pieces of tree stump. The service clearly doesn't feel like it, they are quick to pay, while we were still eating we were served the bill without asking. Apparently it is not common for you to order a second round of drinks. Collect money and get out. Despite the good experiences we had here in the past, we will never return here.

I ate pork trotters from six places in Germany this time😅. This one is my most recommended. The skin is grilled to a crispy texture, and the meat is juicy and delicious (usually dry). The portion is also large. It is highly recommended, and there are many attractions nearby to visit.

After previous good experiences, now disappointed. Schweinehaxe was very dry, as if it was a reheated leftover from the day before. The service was unable to serve both meals at the same time.

Nice cosy restaurant focused on meat. Unfortunately they were out of T Bone but everyone enjoyed their different steaks. Service was spot on. Atmosphere was good. Cosy. Nice vibe. Staff happy to have a laugh. Def recommend.

Food is great! However, one lady waitress didn’t allow us to split our bill with her varying excuses even though it was just easy to do. Nonetheless, we didn’t allow her to ruin the good food we had.

Food is OKAY, but This Restaurant is not Asian Friendly. I have a water bottle in my bag pack, and the Waiter literally educated me "It is not good to drink water from outside" while I am ordering drinks. I feel so offended. I was asked to go inside to pay the bill, and the Waiter ask my to pay 5% or 10% as the tips. I am not comfortable with this at all.

Keep your hands off the food, pick up a pork roll and well, you can do that. It's not possible to sit down and eat on site. The schnitzel came out of the deep fryer, the cevapcici were fried dry and crispy. Never again!

We just spontaneously went to the old town to eat a “roast roll”! We were thrilled! New: the mega crispy, very large farmer's roll, two thick slices of roast, with a piece of crust. I ordered their Schnitzel and it was too hard and dry for my preference. I also find it a bit pricey. The drinks cost 4+€ per 500ml glass. The service staff who accommodated us was friendly and nice, but the area seems a bit crowded, had to sit really close with the other customers.

Not the best Schweinshaxe (pork knuckle). There was no crust, it was soft/jelly outside. Potatoes were ok. 25€ for schweinsaxe and one beer.

The boss was super unfriendly. As soon as we had the menu in our hands, we were urged to order. It felt like she was afraid that we would just sit around. And the food? Terrible! The grilled pork knuckles were still ok. The other meat was dry and tough. We definitely won't come a second time. This is a tourist trap, nothing more.

I highly recommend trying the pork knuckle, I have never tasted it so delicious anywhere in Germany before. For dinner for two with alcohol we paid about 50 euros. Früher bekam man dort Spanferkel mit Kruste und Zwiebeln in einem knusprigen Brötchen, saftig und gein! Heute trockene, dreimal zu Tode gebratene Schweineschulter…. keine Kruste, keine Zwiebeln, keinen Bratensaft - schrecklich….

Pretty dirty. Food portions were large, but low quality. Service was OK, very pushy on tips though (despite below par service). Would not reccomend eating here given the choices nearby.

I don't know if Haksen cooking methods vary from region to region, but the Haksen at restaurants around here don't have much of a hard shell. It feels like eating warm cooked pig’s feet. In the past, a knife or fork would stick into the hard shell... The portion size is large, so if all 3 people are not big eaters, order only 2 portions when visiting with 3 people. I ordered some unusual beers here and was very satisfied. If you go, try this.

Five of all had schweineshaxe dish and dish was ok for the price. However the service was extremely unattended with no instructions while we were waiting for more than 20mins. The restaurant is on a very busy street and people passing by smokes and throw garbages on the street thus if you come here with children, it would be better to sit inside.

Since the management changed, the quality and taste has deteriorated. There is no longer the delicious, crunchy crust on the pork roll like before. It is no longer possible to sit comfortably outside while eating, even though everything was empty. The pork roll is only available to take away.

Also the pig Janes on Nordstr. has been closed for over a year. But the quality wasn't nearly as good as in the old town. A pity!

Eating knuckle here has the 3 BBB (GOOD, BEAUTIFUL AND CHEAP) Typical German place, very fast service, used to dealing with people from all over, speaking almost all languages. In case they don't speak yours, you tell them what you want and without a problem. I usually order knuckle, grilled. It is very juicy with a good churruscada area. This time I had a snitzchel, which is more typical of Vienna but to try it. I didn't like it too much, accustomed to the Viennese style which is much finer. Another colleague ordered a sausage that comes rolled and is quite good. All accompanied by potatoes. Every time I go, it is a must stop. Ideally, you can go outside the typical German schedules, which are to eat very early compared to the Spanish ones.

Wow the food comes out quickly. When you're really hungry and need to eat something right away You must come here. A place where you can get your food quickly almost as soon as you order...🤩 I went with my friends and shared a variety of dishes, and the food was generally delicious. +) Lemonade is said to taste like carbonated water with a few drops of lemon, so please keep that in mind when ordering. And the space was smaller than expected. Because the seats next to each other are very close, even if you go alone, you can eat as if you were with a friend.

Average German restaurant for Tourists, not bad but there are far better options in Düsseldorf. The schnitzel didn’t seem fresh, it was big enough but quality was disappointing.
