Schwanenschlößchen zu Freiberg in Freiberg

It looked quite good, I thought, and was about to go, but... Where has the common sense of a restaurateur gone? Charging €7.00 for a double shot of double schnapps or Ramazzotti? That can't be right.

Since I hadn't made an order, there was some initial confusion, but since I only wanted a coffee, a table was quickly found.

I was pleasantly surprised by the food. It tasted very good. The service is quick and the staff are very friendly. I can recommend eating there sometime.

Beautifully located, and the opportunity to ride on the swan boats is especially great for children. There's a very nice adjacent playground. Friendly, attentive staff. We didn't have to wait long for the food (7 people), even though the restaurant was very busy. The food is home-cooked and the portions are generous. The prices are reasonable. We'd love to come back!

The food at the Schwanenschlößchen is incredibly delicious and you'll feel completely full. We found it a shame that the service became increasingly unfriendly from 8:30 p.m. onwards, even though the opening hours were advertised everywhere until 11 p.m. Friday/Saturday. In the end, we left early at 10 p.m.

We stopped here for coffee. The swan-shaped cream puffs are something special. The Eierschecke (egg cake) was good. The ambiance is very nice, rustic, and cozy; if the weather's good, you can sit outside on the terrace overlooking the water with a great view of the lake. Inside, however, it's very cramped.

Very cozy, I like the ambiance there. Six of us were there. The food was delicious and plentiful. The prices were reasonable, too. The staff was very friendly and efficient. None of us had any complaints. We'll definitely go there often.

Very promising from the outside and online. So I reserved dinner for my wife's birthday. I ordered accordingly in the online reservation. Unfortunately, none of this was implemented. On the contrary, when you enter the restaurant you have to look for a member of staff "in the kitchen entrance" who told us where our "birthday table" was prepared. From this point on, we didn't feel in good hands. Apart from some good waiter work, where the water bottle was placed on the table and then later the glasses were added, and that was it. I also had to return the schnitzel with chanterelles that I had ordered because the meat was simply inedible. A new portion was brought out immediately, but overall it was not a pleasant evening, especially on a birthday. We are very disappointed. Unfortunately!

A truly romantic restaurant. It stands on stilts in one of Freiberg's Kreuzteich lakes. It's decorated as it was 100 years ago. Very attentive staff, who even helped with a magnifying glass when an elderly couple had trouble reading the menu. The menu offers something for every taste. Excellent selection of drinks. Reservations are recommended. Parking is available within a 10-minute walk, and with luck, even directly across the street.

Many thanks to the team at the Schwanenschlösschen in Freiberg. We ordered a candlelit dinner for our 10th wedding anniversary. Our expectations were more than exceeded. The table was lovingly set, the food arrived promptly, and the servers were super friendly. All in all, a truly wonderful, unforgettable evening. We would go back anytime and highly recommend it!

We're people who like to eat outside on the terrace, as we smoke. At this restaurant, we couldn't decide whether to eat outside or inside – a wonderful interior 😍. Finally, a restaurant that hasn't been modernized, but rather renovated and preserved – according to old traditions. The service was charming and friendly – ​​they kept asking if we were satisfied. The food came quickly and was delicious. We ordered fish and schnitzel – there was nothing wrong with it – on the contrary – everything was fresh and very decoratively prepared. The prices are absolutely reasonable. Also worth mentioning is the extremely friendly staff. Discreet, yet close to the customer. Both inside and outside, there's a lot of information and pictures about the restaurant from times long past. A little journey through time. We were enchanted by this wonderful spot on this small lake – this restaurant will be a stop for us every time we're in Freiberg. It's truly worth it!

Very pleasant hospitality. Romantic location by the lake. Parking is a bit far away, but manageable. The star deduction is due to the fact that small special requests were not met several times. The children's meals didn't arrive as ordered. We had this corrected, and then it worked. The same thing happened with the ice cream... a shame, because otherwise everything was fine.

Today we had an appointment at the school reunion in the Schwanenschlösschen. It's clear that after 50 years there was a lot to talk about and tell. The joy was great and of course the punch lines too. However, the young waitress had no understanding of this. We were approached about our conversation in an unfriendly and disrespectful manner and although no other guests had complained, when we asked, we were brushed off by the incompetent and snippy waitress. If you can't stand a class reunion, the Schwanenschlösschen team shouldn't accept a reservation for it. Happy guests are not welcome there. Very, very sad at this time. Never again! Not recommended! There's nothing like going there once you're there...

The ambiance was unbeatable; we sat on the terrace in the sunshine, right above the lake. The service was good, as was the food, and the value for money was right. Definitely worth a visit.

We were here at the Schwanenschlösschen today and only looked at it from the outside. It is a very well maintained property. We'll be back in the summer and will indulge in the atmosphere then.

Good home-style food at a good price. Even spontaneously get a table and eat and drink deliciously. The waitress was on point and we didn't have to wait long. Whether drinks or food arrived quickly and we were all full. Gladly again.

Personally, the roulade was tough for me, as with other comments, perhaps you should reconsider the meat or the preparation. Fried potatoes taste delicious, but are very fatty. Nice establishment, great location - in the middle of a beautiful lake, in the center of the city. An interesting cozy place, well-kept, clean, tastefully decorated interior, enough space, there is a children's playground) I recommend this institution for a visit! It is desirable to add a little friendliness to some waitresses, a friendly smile to visitors will only decorate her face 😉.

Very cozy in the old style. We were there on January 4th. 2025 here, a quick call was enough and 10 minutes later we were there. We ordered baked camembert and chicken schnitzel, both delicious. Definitely recommended.

Simply a dream with the ambience, the food and also the uncomplicated service in my case, because I hadn't reserved beforehand. And it was almost completely full. The “Imperial Power Broth” is very tasty with liquid egg in the core! The schnitzel, the homemade remoulade... simply "just" very tasty!

Great location, lovingly decorated now for Christmas time. There are many elements from the region to admire. The service was very friendly and attentive. The food was freshly prepared and came relatively quickly. The seasoned meat is absolutely amazing, we've never had it so good. The meat from the schnitzel and deer wasn't that great, very tough, the side dishes were okay. It is advisable to reserve a table.

Stopped there spontaneously on Sunday to fortify myself with a coffee... There was even enough space and because it was so good I wanted to try the Georg swan puff. Very tasty, highly recommended......

Great excursion destination with a great location directly on the water with fountains on the lake and with a very long tradition. Very rustic, lovingly designed facility. Great starters, but unfortunately the two main courses we tasted can't keep up. The schnitzel was wonderfully brown on top, but the underside was completely light and so mushy that the breading was practically no longer there. The fried potatoes are nicely made, with ham and roasted aromas, but unfortunately just too greasy overall. Very tasty salad side dish. The other dish had frozen vegetables, which unfortunately also tasted the same. There is still potential for improvement. Service is absolutely fine, and special requests when reserving a table are also taken into account with a lot of commitment.

The restaurant is beautifully located on the pond and the food is delicious. The wine we ordered was overpriced for my taste. Pre-order is advisable. Unfortunately, we were directly observed and stared at the entire time of our visit by an intrusive guest, which was very unpleasant. Apparently he belonged to the staff or knew them because they talked to them loudly. As I said, the restaurant was great and recommended.

Schnitzel with fried potatoes, chicken schnitzel and brawn are highly recommended. Big compliments to the kitchen. As a visitor to the city you should definitely stop there. With a view of the pond, it's the perfect place to unwind. As a native of Freiberg, I was very happy that the Schwanenschlösschen was reopened. We'll definitely come back here.

We arrived relatively late. And were the last guests. The service was friendly. Unfortunately, the fried potatoes were bland and the chanterelles in cream had no taste (which is difficult...) and the schnitzel had a soft crust. It was the same with my wife. I could have done that better at home. Since we were invited it didn't hurt that much, but I expect more from a restaurant with a good reputation shortly before the kitchen closes. Very nicely located... Unfortunately operated below value... The solyanka and stuffed cabbage were too salty... 2nd attempt today... Appointment reservation online... At the desired time everything was full for 2 people... It was fine for 4 people... Now you could think that the bear is dancing here... When we arrived everything was free downstairs... half the terrace was cordoned off... I have no idea what that was supposed to mean... What a shame... at least the service was there make an effort...

One of the most beautiful places in Freiberg, inside and out. Everyone should have sat on the terrace in summer. :-) Food delicious, but with long waiting times (June 2022).
