Ratskeller Freiberg in Freiberg

The meat was good, but the side dishes (dumplings, croquettes, etc.) weren't at all good and seemed very much like convenience food. The service was friendly and quick, but I don't think a radio constantly playing advertisements is appropriate for a restaurant like this.

Discovered by chance. We were very pleased!

Beautiful restaurant with nice outside seating overlooking the historic market place. The food was extraordinary and I very much enjoyed the Schnitzel (one of the best I ever had) with asparagus. Our server, Zurabashvili, was very kind and attentive. My husband has a lactose allergy and they took care of this with no issue. Highly recommend this place.

Very delicious food, everyone was satisfied. The staff was super friendly, and despite the restaurant being full, the service was pretty quick. The atmosphere was cozy, with a small beer garden outside, right on the Obermarkt.

We were there with numerous guests in the fireplace room after a funeral. The preparation, coordination, and booking went smoothly and were very accommodating. Changes were accommodated at short notice. The staff were extremely attentive, professional, and prompt. Everyone was able to eat at the same time. The food was *extremely delicious*, fresh, plentiful, and well worth the price, including the beautiful dishes it was served on. The decor is stylish and well-maintained. An absolute recommendation!

This was my second time in Freiberg. The Ratskeller is an absolute must! A very rustic and cozy atmosphere. The waiters are friendly and keep an eye on things, even when it's full. The menu is clear. Prices are typical for the area, not exactly cheap, but you get excellent food in very generous portions. It was another delight. Thank you very much, and all the best until next time.

I went there for lunch. The staff was super friendly, and I felt very comfortable. The sauerbraten was really good. The prices are very reasonable.

Food: there were three of us in the company, each of us ordered a different dish and it was very tasty for everyone. I recommend dishes with mushrooms. Very tasty, as if they had cooked fresh mushrooms. Rest: Great view. Super atmosphere and service! I will come again, I recommend it.

I can't recommend coming here. I ate here with a business partner and have to say that I haven't received such unfriendly service in a long time. As soon as we came in, we stood around for 10 minutes before an employee showed up and then showed us the table with just a point of her finger. No smile, no kind word, we were just a nuisance. The food was very good, as was the Freiberg beer. Such a beautiful city! One can only hope that not everyone here is in such a bad mood.

Incredibly delicious food at Ratskeller Freiberg! Every bite was a delight. The service was absolutely perfect and very attentive. The atmosphere was also great and cozy. The only small point of criticism: the Camembert was unfortunately not homemade. Nevertheless, an absolute must for everyone who loves home-style cooking - and with an absolutely top price-performance ratio! We were more than thrilled.

The service was great, the food was good. Unfortunately it has to be said that it was TK. Meat and fish were on point. But I was missing sauce and unfortunately the potatoes were also finished All in all, you'll be full, it tastes good, but you shouldn't expect miracles. But the price is right.

Whenever my girlfriend and I have the chance to spend a weekend in Germany as a couple without our boys, we always want a nice evening for two with good food, delicious drinks and a little time in the hotel room. Last night we were not disappointed in the Ratskeller. The ox cheeks and the burger were great. The black beer and the bock beer brandy rounded off the menu. A whiskey or two at the end of the meal and the conversation with my pretty girl made the trip perfect for us. The staff was very friendly, even though there was a lot to do at times. We were very happy and would be happy to come back when we visit our homeland again.

Centrally located on the Obermarkt, near the Christmas market and TU Freiberg. Large living room and separate guest rooms in old walls in the middle of Freiberg. Varied, rich menu with seasonal adjustments, sufficiently large portions and the price is at the upper limit. Food tastes freshly prepared. Friendly staff, if business is good, allow for a little waiting time. Reservations are absolutely necessary for events - which can be done very easily online. Overall, a recommendable restaurant.

We had reserved a table for 11:00 on November 25th, 2024. The order was taken quickly and the drinks were served quickly. Only the food didn't come until 12:30. It was only lukewarm, sometimes cold. The waitress offered us espresso / liqueur as compensation. But due to the time pressure (next round 1:00 p.m.) we were no longer able to eat a dessert, which was a shame There was a lack of coziness, everything was very hectic. And it wasn't our first time eating there on a public holiday, so we were a bit disappointed this time because we've had better experiences.

We spontaneously stopped in for dinner and got a table for an hour. The place is suitable for people with a walker, there is only a small step at the entrance, toilets are at ground level. Service was very nice and attentive.

The waiter asked us to go and the table was reserved. He didn't offer us another table either. We then went to the Stadtwirtschaft Burgstraße restaurant and were warmly welcomed. The Ratskeller is not recommended.

Very tasty food! I had a pork schnitzel, which was very good value for money. For such a historic place, I still found the ambience very lacking; To me it felt more like an ordinary restaurant than a "place to be".

Wir hatten reserviert, waren aber aufgrund des Wetters schon 2 Stunden vorfristig da. Man fand für uns einen schönen Tisch. Obwohl das Lokal absolut ausgebucht war, erfolgte die Bedienung flott und sehr freundlich. Das Essen war herausragend gut. We ordered a buffet for 40 people at the Ratskeller Freiberg for our wedding. The food was excellent, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. During the preparation, my wife and I called there “often” to make certain adjustments and changes, for example to the buffet or the number of guests. We had dinner today on September 12th, 2024. We were welcomed very friendly, escorted to our reserved seats and served very politely. The food is very good and rich. Unfortunately, we were only assigned a cat table for 4 people, although several tables were supposedly reserved. They were not occupied until the end. A HIGH rejection rate 🤔 if that's true. The hall manager was already in the mood for the end of the day, which was evident from his overall behavior, etc.! The food was impeccable!!! Too bad

On Sunday evening around 6.30 p.m. a waiter assigned us four adults a 90x90 table near the kitchen/bar, saying the remaining 40% free tables were reserved and a small delivery table was not possible. He would need this for any additional guests or to add to the reservations. The food we ordered came regardless of the indications of an allergy and had to be returned for an exchange. The reserved, unoccupied tables remained empty until we paid after 9 p.m. The waiter was no longer seen and the second waitress supported her colleague. It had the impression of attracting western tourists. We will publicize this behavior through our regional relatives and publications. It is unacceptable to practice such behavior towards customers directly at the 1st place on Obermarkt and then under "Ratskeller".

We had lunch in the Ratskeller on Sunday August 11th. Everything was great, the food was great and the waiters were top notch. Portions were sufficient, especially with the salad plate with turkey strips, the garlic dressing was simply fabulous.

Unfortunately we were actually a bit disappointed... There were three people of different ages and unfortunately discovered independently of each other that the food wasn't great. Everything was edible... but the heibut was bland, the salad was okay and the chanterelles with fried potatoes weren't really that tasty either... But luckily tastes differ and the staff were friendly. It will definitely get better 👍 PS: The design of the restaurant is very loving 👍

Personal sehr freundlich, Essen kam auf den Punkt, so dass wir alle gemeinsam essen konnten. Es gab auch eine Kinderkarte. Der Ratskeller ist zentral gelegen, in der Altstadt von Freiberg und gut zu Fuß zu erreichen. Kinderfreundlich. Auf jedem unserer Teller war ein handgeschriebenes Zettelchen aus der Küche. Das fanden wir eine tolle Idee und zauberte uns ein Lächeln ins Gesicht. Eine wirklich nette Geste.

The Erzgebirge ambience with the pretty details from the life of the miners is very appealing. The menu is extensive, the selection is large and the food is extremely tasty. A great restaurant also in terms of ambience. We were there with a group of 14 people and reservations were made easily via email. The food was great and so was the service. Should we be in Freiberg again next year, the Ratskeller will definitely be a point of contact again. We recommend
