I like being here! The map always surprises me. The homemade food tastes simply amazing! Large selection of drinks and a great variety of offerings including dessert and cake. The atmosphere is rustic and familiar. A MUST in Würzburg. It's worth it. Special service Abbas and seers. The Berndt family is doing a great job. Keep it up! :)

The view of Würzburg is great, the restaurant is in a great location! The boss is nice and the staff is very friendly and having a drink on the terrace after a hike is definitely nice. We sat indoors. It smells bad in some rooms, the garden doesn't look well maintained, the toilets weren't clean and needed to be replaced. The table decorations don't look clean, the entrance door is sticky. The food was average but not good and for the price one would expect more; Canned mushrooms, I suspect the hash browns too. It's a shame, you could make so much out of it!

We stopped here on our recommendation on our short hike. Rustic room, we sat inside because the weather wasn't good. The food was delicious, the staff was friendly and the prices were right. In some places one or two cosmetic repairs would need to be carried out. Otherwise a very nice view of Würzburg

Four of us had a family meal there at the beginning of October. Online reservation is possible! In addition to a great general menu, there is also always a diverse seasonal/daily menu, which we all loved. The food came quickly and was very tasty. Our waitress, Mr. Abbas, was very accommodating and spoiled us with Federweißer, berry wine and cookies. All in all, a great visit and the beer garden invites you to visit again in the summer!

We found this wonderful place above Würzburg by chance and were immediately fascinated by the sight of the beer garden and the unique view over the city. Abbas, our waitress, gave us a warm welcome and recommended the house specialties to us. The food is good home-style cooking in the Franconian style at a fair price. Perfect place to stop and linger with a glass of wine!

The five of us ate on the terrace in the best autumn weather. Great view from the mountainside of the city and the Würzburg “basin”. Service and food were very good. In particular, the salad plate with goat cheese, pumpkin and falafel (seasonal monthly menu) was extremely good.

We were guests for a short drinks break. The beer was good, the view was fantastic.

During a tasting I was able to get to know the restaurant's culinary skills and they really impressed me. Despite the smaller portion, the high quality of the food was clearly evident - the taste was mature and the craftsmanship was precisely prepared. The tasting definitely made you want more and makes the full gastronomic offering seem promising.

Long-established, wonderful restaurant with a fantastic view over Würzburg, a large playground for children, panoramic terrace, beer garden, delicious, hearty and high-quality food, plus service that you can hardly experience these days. Regardless of whether you are a local or a tourist, the Schützenhof is always a popular place. Parking spaces are plentiful. Here you can enjoy a wonderful view over the Main and the city surrounded by vineyards. Franconian dishes with regional ingredients are often served, and vegetarians will also find plenty to choose from. The beer is fresh and tasty, that's all you need for an entertaining break from everyday life.

Very tasty food and a rustic parlor

Very good regional dishes. Everything is fresh and well-cooked. I can recommend forelle, rind „hochzeit“ dish and strudel. The outside view is fantastic.

An absolute disaster. Given the prices, I expect quality. The meat was cold and tough, carelessly prepared. The staff untrained and clumsy. I haven't experienced such insolence in a long time. Advice everyone, take your money somewhere else. The location and view, on the other hand, is amazing.

The Schützenhof only scores points with its unique location with a view over the Main Valley. Unfortunately the food isn't that special, we've tried it many times and were never really impressed. But you can definitely stop by the café. But otherwise... well. The service is ok, but not that great either. What's nice for parents is the playground for the kids.

Dreams come true here! I've always wanted to celebrate a wonderful summer party under old trees. The weather was on our side, so we were able to enjoy the wonderful ambience under the starry sky late into the night. And with the best service! Even when planning my 50th birthday, Mr. Berndt showed great commitment to implementing my ideas. He has plenty of experience, great skills, with friendliness and always a smile on his face. You are in the best hands with him and his team! He is also honest and tries to avoid unnecessary costs. If you ask him what experience shows his guests like or how much is needed, you will get an honest answer, benefit from his accumulated knowledge and save money. In other restaurants you are often sold things that cost a lot of money but are useless. All of our guests were thrilled by the wonderfully beautiful ambience, the delicious food and the exceptionally great service! We opted for the BBQ grill selection in a slightly modified form. There was also a delicious selection for the vegetarian guests. The pulled pork must have been particularly tasty. I'm a vegetarian myself, but my guests still rave about it! A culinary delight for all dishes from start to finish! Kudos to the kitchen! I would like to say a big thank you to Ali from the service department, who was very helpful to me in advance and always helped me with the decorations. At the celebration, our guests were well looked after by him. We didn't miss anything. He was very attentive and quick and always friendly! You hardly find anything like this in the catering industry these days! Even his colleagues who were not specifically assigned to us took care of individual requests despite the beer garden being full. Thank you very much for that! Ich war schon oft zum Essen dort und wurde nie enttäuscht. Deshalb entschloss ich mich meinen Geburtstag dort zu feiern. Hier werden Träume wahr! Ich wollte schon immer mal eine wunderschönes Sommerfest unter alten Bäumen feiern. Das Wetter war auf unserer Seite, so konnten wir bis spät in die Nacht unterm Sternenhimmel das traumhafte Ambiente genießen. Und das bei bestem Service! Schon in der Planung zu meinem 50. Geburtstag zeigte Herr Berndt großes Engagement meine Vorstellungen umzusetzen. Er verfügt über reichlich Erfahrung, großem Können, gepart mit Freundlichkeit und immer einem Lächeln im Gesicht. Man ist bei Ihm und seinem Team in den besten Händen! Außerdem ist er ehrlich und versucht unnötige Kosten zu vermeiden. Wenn man ihn fragt, was erfahrungsgemäß bei den Gästen ankommt, oder welche Menge benötigt wird, wird man eine ehrliche Antwort bekommen, von seinem gesammelten Wissen profitieren und Geld sparen. In anderen Restaurants bekommt man oft Sachen aufgeschwatzt die viel Geld kosten, die aber unnütz sind. All unsere Gäste waren begeistert vom traumhaft schönen Ambiente, dem superleckerem Essen und dem außergewöhnlich tollen Service! Wir hatten uns für die BBQ Grillauswahl in leicht abgewandelter Form entschieden. So gab es auch eine köstliche Auswahl für die vegetarischen Gäste. Besonders lecker muss wohl das pulled Pork gewesen sein. Ich selbst bin Vegetarier, aber meine Gäste schwärmen noch heute davon! Ein kulinarischer Hochgenuss aller Speisen von Anfang bis zum Ende! Ein großes Lob an die Küche! Ich möchte mich ganz herzlich bei Ali vom Service bedanken, der mir im Vorfeld schon sehr zur Hand gegangen ist, und mir immer eine Hilfe bei der Deko war. Bei der Feier wurden unsere Gäste von ihm Bestens versorgt. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Er war sehr aufmerksam und flink und immer freundlich! So was findet man heutzutage kaum noch in der Gastronomie! Auch seine Kolleg*innen die nicht speziell für uns abgestellt waren, kümmerten sich trotz vollem Biergartens um einzelne Wünsche. We wanted to stop at the Schützenhof and could only read: until September 5th. Company holidays - it would have been nice if you could have read that on the homepage, it says open continuously from March to mid-October. Thanks for that.

Der Schützenhof profitiert nur von der tollen Aussicht. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich . Das Essen aber ist absolut nich zu empfehlen. Tk schnitzel völlig überteuert und geschmacklos. Der Salat ist meiner Meinung nach auch ein Tütensalat, das Dressing naja:(

I've been here several times and I always think it's something special. Firstly the Franconian cuisine with its beautiful beer garden and then the wonderful view of Würzburg. The food is very good and the staff is very friendly. The Schützenhof is easier to reach on foot but by car. I'd love to come by again.

Wir waren seit Jahren aufgrund der schlechten Bewertungen nicht mehr dort. Die Überraschung war eher positiv. Die Bedienung, ein junger Mann, war sehr gut, freundlich und keineswegs überfordert. Die Preise (Käsespätzle 17,50 €) sind für die gebotene Qualität zu hoch, aber ich denke man kann die schöne Aussicht und die Sitzplätze unter den Bäumen auch mitbezahlen.

Nice view over Würzburg. Large parking lot, about 200 meters on foot. There are also parking spaces directly in front of the Schützenhof. Unfortunately, the quality of the food wasn't quite as good as we wanted, but that's a matter of taste. Addendum: We went there several times because of the view and the quality has improved greatly! Thumbs up and therefore 5 stars

Preis- Leistung unterirdisch! Kleine überteuerte Portionen! Man darf also keinen großen Hunger haben! Schnitzel hat überhaupt nicht geschmeckt. Für Bratkartoffeln statt Pommes muss man 2.50 Euro Aufpreis zahlen! Den bekannten Beerenwein gibt es nur in Gläsern. Flaschen kann man nur zum mitnehmen kaufen. Personal zwar superfreundlich aber dennoch heillos überfordert . Würde man also den Wein (den Beerenwein! Alle anderen Weinsorten kann man in Flaschen kaufen! )auch in Flaschen verkaufen, müsste das Personal weniger oft laufen und es gäbe auch weniger zu spülen! Der Kellner hat sein Bestes gegeben. Dennoch mussten wir ewig warten, bis er wieder kam, um weitere Bestellungen aufzugeben....

A beautifully located garden restaurant with a great view over Würzburg. Good selection of food, including for vegetarians. Nice service. The prices are a bit too high. It's worth a visit, just for the arrival and departure. Try it out.

We were excited about the great-sounding drinks: iced tea made from forest fruit and green tea with fresh lime and cherry syrup (highly recommended), peach melon punch (unspectacular), white wine spritzer (perfect on the hot afternoon) and rhubarb spritz (a dream). The iced cucumber soup was great. The "Franconian pork duet" consisted of fried loin wrapped in bacon (delicious!), Silvaner ragout (too much salt for my taste), colorful braised vegetables and spaetzle. The "bread salad" promised a taste explosion: bread roasted with garlic oil (really delicious!), vegetable salad with olives and feta with a citrus dip (also delicious) and homemade falafels (fried too crispy). All in all, a good meal that we would be happy to make the trip up the mountain for again. The ambience is a dream, especially on warm days with the view over Würzburg.

When I visit relatives in Würzburg, an evening at the Schützenhof is a must! Location and view are wonderful. The menu offers a number of meat dishes as well as various very interesting vegetarian dishes / there is also something vegan. There are also always changing daily meals and very tasty desserts. Everything is of high quality and beautifully presented. This visit we had reserved a table outside, but the weather was too changeable. Despite the enormous activity that day, we were given a table inside. Thank you! And despite the busyness, the entire staff was very friendly. We are already looking forward to the next time!

Used the toilet before eating and I was no longer hungry. This is not an advertisement for the restaurant.

Went there for dinner last week. There was space and the view was great. Iced tea was good. The food was nothing special...but you can eat it. We had two types of pork with spaetzle and pork belly with horseradish dumpling. The staff paid little attention to newcomers but little to those who were sitting. Had to ask for the drink twice. They also don't look to see whether the glasses are empty and whether you might want something else.

Food was only in the upper category in terms of price, taste was rather average. The staff was friendly and quick. Here you pay for the very nice ambience.

The 4 of us went there for dinner in front of the theater, it was really good food, the service was very friendly and accommodating. We will be happy to come back.

Das Essen ist von sehr minderwertiger Qualität zu hohem Preis. Selbst Bratkartoffeln sind ungenießbare Fertigware, mit Fertigsoße ertränkt. Der Service ist nett und zuvorkommend, jedoch völlig überfordert. Das Lokal profitiert vom Ausblick über Würzburg, der ist wunderschön. Satt kommen und bei einem Glas Wein die Aussicht genießen. Mehr kann ich nicht empfehlen. Schade.

Almost very good for a garden restaurant, but difficult to find. The information signs are rather sparse. If I hadn't "studied" there?! Very pleasant service with uniform clean clothing from the staff (rare these days). The dishes are Franconian and vegetarian, as well as traditional: not an everyday menu. The view over Würzburg under the shady trees: very beautiful. A recommendation if you visit the Käppele or just want to enjoy the fantastic view

I'm not really that picky about food but I was really disappointed with this restaurant. I ordered a punch with chicken strips and I had a hard time finishing it because it didn't taste good at all. Chicken was so dry that it was hard to chew, other ingredients in the punch were mixed together so inappropriately that I couldn't eat half the portion. The view is really enchanting but at such prices the kitchen could really try harder. Never again

We celebrated a family celebration with 24 people at the Schützenhof. Planning together was very pleasant; Our wishes were fully met. The celebration itself was extremely harmonious, everything was well organized and the food was excellent. Waiter Abbas in particular made an extraordinary effort, was always very friendly and responded promptly to all requests. We would plan a similar family celebration at the Schützenhof again at any time.

Schützenhof is not a place where you want to spend a quiet, peaceful time in a friendly and positive atmosphere. The stuff itself - very gloomy, some are arrogant without any knowledge of how the table needs to be served.... and GUESTS MUST BE SERVED as well, especially if this is YOUR CHOICE for a job... ( temporarily - during your study\karma-yoga practice or permanently.... till the rest of your days... ) If you can not simply listen and work as a subordinate, how are you planning to work somewhere else, where managers\CEOs and administrators emphasize the importance of discipline, taking orders and fulfilling the will of the higher management and hierarchical structures, taking responsibility and bringing tasks till the end-result with the best quality possible?! LEARN EVERYWHERE, rather than pick your nose and look at the watch on your Handy🤣, in the hope of already leaving, forgetting this day, and breaking away with your friends. Take as an example managers of restaurants who do not even identify that they are managers and serve people during the day like a regular waiter does... No lactose free milk, no gluten free options. The rhubarb cake was like a piece of .... khmm. Not recommended. If you try to make something healthier( HIGH FIVE!👍:) ), make sure your recipes are tasty as well. As for the Apfelstrudel - bake it, it was half ready to be served with a vanilla sauce "from- a-Tetra- Pak- taste". Not recommended either. Home-made sauce with hints of vanilla bean and cardamom would be a perfect addition to a properly baked Apfelstrudel. Even though you can see the city from above, the ambiance itself is quite old-fashioned. Traditional German whatever? Well, everything needs to be upgraded from time to time... The chairs are very uncomfortable, as for the inside - it stinks - renovations are a must. While ordering the starter, two mains, and a dessert, we were totally disappointed with the duck, which was over-salted and also cooked in red wine without prior identification on the menu---> (contains alcohol). The only thing that the staff and the kitchen could've said was: "You had to ask us how salty it is and if it contains alcohol." It's good to be aware that if you call yourself a restaurant, you should know that a client has the right to send a dish back to the kitchen, and you are obliged to bring it back in the state the client wants even after it was served. What if there is hair on a plate from someone else's head in the kitchen?? Otherwise, change your name & concept to a pub with fast food or a Biergarten only with drinks and salty snacks... Until recently internationals could not pay for anything with a visa or MasterCard \credit card. Only EC-Cards were accepted and this is in a place and city where tourists and internationals are all over.... Child friendly? Yes. A playground is on the premises. Mother-friendly - doesn't look like that...It's good to remember that mothers take care of children and do not come into your "restaurant" to flaunt burp-free, dirt-free, stainless clothes preferably with a décolleté and "yes, everything is perfect!" attitude. How you cook, serve, talk - this is how you will be treated and not according to how it is supposed to be....according to hmm WHO? Societal norms and prejudice. Coming for dinner in a Michelin Star restaurant in dirty clothes is a bad tone; coming to your place - is a FAVOR FOR YOU. So HURRY UP when you get an order - some of you need to LOSE WEIGHT! It's good when the reputation of your facility is built on how delighted people feel AFTER they receive your service and food. Building a corporate reputation is costly. If 90% don't feel contented and elated, and the other 10% do because beer is there, then such a "restaurant" is worthless...💫
