Schützenhof in Würzburg

The view is fantastic, the food is delicious, but the service is unfortunately only mediocre - a schnitzel was forgotten, which can happen, and then it took forever to be brought.

Unfortunately too small portions 10€ Obazda with 2 slices of bread, but nice atmosphere.

Great view, but the service and food are subpar

My son's currywurst was excellent, unfortunately the sauce for the dumpling and the sauce for the cordon bleau were a disaster, tasteless and a cornstarch mess. I ordered extra red wine sauce, but it was nothing. The service was very nice and others also had our dog with them and they thought it was great ;-)

We sat in the beer garden with a wonderful view over Würzburg and the Main Valley! The lunch menu was excellent - I had a vegan burger with fries for €10.90 - we'll definitely be back!

The regular restaurant when we are in Würzburg since the 1980s! Good regional cuisine, friendly service, whose knowledge of German still has some room for improvement and a fantastic view of Würzburg from the terrace.

Unfortunately it's getting a bit old and there doesn't seem to be any interest in changing anything. The food was marginal, the drinks were the cheapest and actually the service, the waitresses, just about saved it with their friendliness. Here only the really beautiful location with the view is used to charge corresponding prices. Too bad.

The Easter brunch is just overpriced. The cold dishes were still okay but unfortunately not worth the money. Some of the warm dishes were inedible and simply a disgrace. The service was also subpar, you had to run after the waitress to get coffee or water. Plates weren't picked up for ages and the carafe with water was knocked all over the edge.

I'll never set foot in this store again. Unfriendly and very dirty. I caught the owner, Gudrun, washing her dirty shoes, some of them covered in horse manure, in the kitchen where they wash vegetables. I confronted her about it and was fired. Dear people, if your health is important to you, please steer clear of this store. PLEASE TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF. Kind regards

Sat outside in lovely weather. The apricot dumplings were very tasty. However, the cheesecake is not recommended at all.

A perfect place for a family celebration with around 30 people with a separate area with a beautiful view of the entire city.

Try the different beers front a local brewery! Staff friendly and willing, however service could be a bit more attentive.

Great view from the beer garden in summer. The food varies a lot, never bad, but some dishes are very reminiscent of ready meals from well-known manufacturers. A bit expensive for that.

The barbecue evening was a complete pleasure in terms of the ambience and the food! The waiters, especially Ali, were always courteous and helpful. The food was excellent, the dessert was also recommended. We'd love to come back!

As a child, I always went to the Schützenhof in the summer because my parents also enjoyed the view and the beautiful beer garden back then. We were there with our children in the summer and spent a lovely afternoon with very good food. That's why we decided to hold the company Christmas party in this location this year. After a mulled wine by the fireplace with the magnificent view over Würzburg, we found a place (indoors, of course) in the next room. The restaurant was packed with Christmas parties in the main room and also in the adjoining rooms. Nevertheless, all the service staff were top. We could place an order at any time and the drinks always came to us quickly and directly. All service staff were friendly and accommodating. The starter platter we ordered in advance was really big and one starter tasted better than the other. The main courses also all arrived at the same time and everyone was extremely happy with their order. Those who were still able ate dessert. We all had a lovely evening that we will only remember positively. Many thanks to the Schützenhof team!

The view of Würzburg is very beautiful.. The food was rather average and salty with decent prices.. It was very dirty under the tables... The food will simply be charged twice if you don't coordinate and pay attention in the group.

Das Essen ist eher unterdurchschnittlich, überschaubar und zu teuer - Preis-Leistungsverhältnis passt nicht! „Schweinebraten vom fränkischen Schwein mit Majoransoße dazu ein großer Kloß und Salat mit Körnern 18.50 Euro“ bedeutet: Zwei kleine und sehr dünne Scheiben Schweinebraten, zwei kleine Klöße und eine angerührte 08/15 Sauce. Der Salat sah gut aus, leider viel zu viel Öl. Schade fürs Geld.

The food is rather below average, manageable and too expensive - the price-performance ratio doesn't fit! “Roast pork from Franconian pig with marjoram sauce with a large dumpling and salad with seeds 18.50 euros” means: Two small and very thin slices of roast pork, two small dumplings and a mixed run-of-the-mill sauce. The salad looked good, unfortunately there was way too much oil. Too bad for the money.

We used to be regular customers, but the food and especially the service has declined significantly (!). Finally, we had to wait over 110 minutes for our food, which, after almost 2 hours and multiple requests, was served, almost annoyed, and cold and soggy.

Brunch is 10/10. Highly recommended.

I like being here! The map always surprises me. The homemade food tastes simply amazing! Large selection of drinks and a great variety of offerings including dessert and cake. The atmosphere is rustic and familiar. A MUST in Würzburg. It's worth it. Special service Abbas and seers. The Berndt family is doing a great job. Keep it up! :)

The view of Würzburg is great, the restaurant is in a great location! The boss is nice and the staff is very friendly and having a drink on the terrace after a hike is definitely nice. We sat indoors. It smells bad in some rooms, the garden doesn't look well maintained, the toilets weren't clean and needed to be replaced. The table decorations don't look clean, the entrance door is sticky. The food was average but not good and for the price one would expect more; Canned mushrooms, I suspect the hash browns too. It's a shame, you could make so much out of it!

We stopped here on our recommendation on our short hike. Rustic room, we sat inside because the weather wasn't good. The food was delicious, the staff was friendly and the prices were right. In some places one or two cosmetic repairs would need to be carried out. Otherwise a very nice view of Würzburg

Four of us had a family meal there at the beginning of October. Online reservation is possible! In addition to a great general menu, there is also always a diverse seasonal/daily menu, which we all loved. The food came quickly and was very tasty. Our waitress, Mr. Abbas, was very accommodating and spoiled us with Federweißer, berry wine and cookies. All in all, a great visit and the beer garden invites you to visit again in the summer!

We found this wonderful place above Würzburg by chance and were immediately fascinated by the sight of the beer garden and the unique view over the city. Abbas, our waitress, gave us a warm welcome and recommended the house specialties to us. The food is good home-style cooking in the Franconian style at a fair price. Perfect place to stop and linger with a glass of wine!

We had a wonderful stay at the Schützenhof, we felt absolutely comfortable and were served in a more than friendly manner. The five of us ate on the terrace in the best autumn weather. Great view from the mountainside of the city and the Würzburg “basin”. Service and food were very good. In particular, the salad plate with goat cheese, pumpkin and falafel (seasonal monthly menu) was extremely good.

During a tasting I was able to get to know the restaurant's culinary skills and they really impressed me. Despite the smaller portion, the high quality of the food was clearly evident - the taste was mature and the craftsmanship was precisely prepared. The tasting definitely made you want more and makes the full gastronomic offering seem promising.

Long-established, wonderful restaurant with a fantastic view over Würzburg, a large playground for children, panoramic terrace, beer garden, delicious, hearty and high-quality food, plus service that you can hardly experience these days. Regardless of whether you are a local or a tourist, the Schützenhof is always a popular place. Parking spaces are plentiful. Here you can enjoy a wonderful view over the Main and the city surrounded by vineyards. Franconian dishes with regional ingredients are often served, and vegetarians will also find plenty to choose from. The beer is fresh and tasty, that's all you need for an entertaining break from everyday life.

Very tasty food and a rustic parlor

Very good regional dishes. Everything is fresh and well-cooked. I can recommend forelle, rind „hochzeit“ dish and strudel. The outside view is fantastic.

An absolute disaster. Given the prices, I expect quality. The meat was cold and tough, carelessly prepared. The staff untrained and clumsy. I haven't experienced such insolence in a long time. Advice everyone, take your money somewhere else. The location and view, on the other hand, is amazing.

The Schützenhof only scores points with its unique location with a view over the Main Valley. Unfortunately the food isn't that special, we've tried it many times and were never really impressed. But you can definitely stop by the café. But otherwise... well. The service is ok, but not that great either. What's nice for parents is the playground for the kids.

Ich war schon oft zum Essen dort und wurde nie enttäuscht. Deshalb entschloss ich mich meinen Geburtstag dort zu feiern. Hier werden Träume wahr! Ich wollte schon immer mal eine wunderschönes Sommerfest unter alten Bäumen feiern. Das Wetter war auf unserer Seite, so konnten wir bis spät in die Nacht unterm Sternenhimmel das traumhafte Ambiente genießen. Und das bei bestem Service! Schon in der Planung zu meinem 50. Geburtstag zeigte Herr Berndt großes Engagement meine Vorstellungen umzusetzen. Er verfügt über reichlich Erfahrung, großem Können, gepart mit Freundlichkeit und immer einem Lächeln im Gesicht. Man ist bei Ihm und seinem Team in den besten Händen! Außerdem ist er ehrlich und versucht unnötige Kosten zu vermeiden. Wenn man ihn fragt, was erfahrungsgemäß bei den Gästen ankommt, oder welche Menge benötigt wird, wird man eine ehrliche Antwort bekommen, von seinem gesammelten Wissen profitieren und Geld sparen. In anderen Restaurants bekommt man oft Sachen aufgeschwatzt die viel Geld kosten, die aber unnütz sind. All unsere Gäste waren begeistert vom traumhaft schönen Ambiente, dem superleckerem Essen und dem außergewöhnlich tollen Service! Wir hatten uns für die BBQ Grillauswahl in leicht abgewandelter Form entschieden. So gab es auch eine köstliche Auswahl für die vegetarischen Gäste. Besonders lecker muss wohl das pulled Pork gewesen sein. Ich selbst bin Vegetarier, aber meine Gäste schwärmen noch heute davon! Ein kulinarischer Hochgenuss aller Speisen von Anfang bis zum Ende! Ein großes Lob an die Küche! Ich möchte mich ganz herzlich bei Ali vom Service bedanken, der mir im Vorfeld schon sehr zur Hand gegangen ist, und mir immer eine Hilfe bei der Deko war. Bei der Feier wurden unsere Gäste von ihm Bestens versorgt. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Er war sehr aufmerksam und flink und immer freundlich! So was findet man heutzutage kaum noch in der Gastronomie! Auch seine Kolleg*innen die nicht speziell für uns abgestellt waren, kümmerten sich trotz vollem Biergartens um einzelne Wünsche. Dreams come true here! I've always wanted to celebrate a wonderful summer party under old trees. The weather was on our side, so we were able to enjoy the wonderful ambience under the starry sky late into the night. And with the best service! Even when planning my 50th birthday, Mr. Berndt showed great commitment to implementing my ideas. He has plenty of experience, great skills, with friendliness and always a smile on his face. You are in the best hands with him and his team! He is also honest and tries to avoid unnecessary costs. If you ask him what experience shows his guests like or how much is needed, you will get an honest answer, benefit from his accumulated knowledge and save money. In other restaurants you are often sold things that cost a lot of money but are useless. All of our guests were thrilled by the wonderfully beautiful ambience, the delicious food and the exceptionally great service! We opted for the BBQ grill selection in a slightly modified form. There was also a delicious selection for the vegetarian guests. The pulled pork must have been particularly tasty. I'm a vegetarian myself, but my guests still rave about it! A culinary delight for all dishes from start to finish! Kudos to the kitchen! I would like to say a big thank you to Ali from the service department, who was very helpful to me in advance and always helped me with the decorations. At the celebration, our guests were well looked after by him. We didn't miss anything. He was very attentive and quick and always friendly! You hardly find anything like this in the catering industry these days! We wanted to stop at the Schützenhof and could only read: until September 5th. Company holidays - it would have been nice if you could have read that on the homepage, it says open continuously from March to mid-October. Thanks for that.

Absolute insider tip for Turis. We went up based on a private recommendation. Absolutely quiet location. Friendly staff. Reservations under the maple trees are recommended.

Der Schützenhof profitiert nur von der tollen Aussicht. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich . Das Essen aber ist absolut nich zu empfehlen. Tk schnitzel völlig überteuert und geschmacklos. Der Salat ist meiner Meinung nach auch ein Tütensalat, das Dressing naja:(

I've been here several times and I always think it's something special. Firstly the Franconian cuisine with its beautiful beer garden and then the wonderful view of Würzburg. The food is very good and the staff is very friendly. The Schützenhof is easier to reach on foot but by car. I'd love to come by again.

Traditional restaurant on the heights of Würzburg. The terrace is very beautiful with a view of the city. Fruit wine specialties (strawberry...). The soup was delicious. The service is very good. A must if you visit Würzburg. Not far from the Käppele church.

Nice view over Würzburg. Large parking lot, about 200 meters on foot. There are also parking spaces directly in front of the Schützenhof. Unfortunately, the quality of the food wasn't quite as good as we wanted, but that's a matter of taste. Addendum: We went there several times because of the view and the quality has improved greatly! Thumbs up and therefore 5 stars

Wir waren seit Jahren aufgrund der schlechten Bewertungen nicht mehr dort. Die Überraschung war eher positiv. Die Bedienung, ein junger Mann, war sehr gut, freundlich und keineswegs überfordert. Die Preise (Käsespätzle 17,50 €) sind für die gebotene Qualität zu hoch, aber ich denke man kann die schöne Aussicht und die Sitzplätze unter den Bäumen auch mitbezahlen.

Preis- Leistung unterirdisch! Kleine überteuerte Portionen! Man darf also keinen großen Hunger haben! Schnitzel hat überhaupt nicht geschmeckt. Für Bratkartoffeln statt Pommes muss man 2.50 Euro Aufpreis zahlen! Den bekannten Beerenwein gibt es nur in Gläsern. Flaschen kann man nur zum mitnehmen kaufen. Personal zwar superfreundlich aber dennoch heillos überfordert . Würde man also den Wein (den Beerenwein! Alle anderen Weinsorten kann man in Flaschen kaufen! )auch in Flaschen verkaufen, müsste das Personal weniger oft laufen und es gäbe auch weniger zu spülen! Der Kellner hat sein Bestes gegeben. Dennoch mussten wir ewig warten, bis er wieder kam, um weitere Bestellungen aufzugeben....
