An absolute disaster. Given the prices, I expect quality. The meat was cold and tough, carelessly prepared. The staff untrained and clumsy. I haven't experienced such insolence in a long time. Advice everyone, take your money somewhere else. The location and view, on the other hand, is amazing.

The Schützenhof only scores points with its unique location with a view over the Main Valley. Unfortunately the food isn't that special, we've tried it many times and were never really impressed. But you can definitely stop by the café. But otherwise... well. The service is ok, but not that great either. What's nice for parents is the playground for the kids.

Dreams come true here! I've always wanted to celebrate a wonderful summer party under old trees. The weather was on our side, so we were able to enjoy the wonderful ambience under the starry sky late into the night. And with the best service! Even when planning my 50th birthday, Mr. Berndt showed great commitment to implementing my ideas. He has plenty of experience, great skills, with friendliness and always a smile on his face. You are in the best hands with him and his team! He is also honest and tries to avoid unnecessary costs. If you ask him what experience shows his guests like or how much is needed, you will get an honest answer, benefit from his accumulated knowledge and save money. In other restaurants you are often sold things that cost a lot of money but are useless. All of our guests were thrilled by the wonderfully beautiful ambience, the delicious food and the exceptionally great service! We opted for the BBQ grill selection in a slightly modified form. There was also a delicious selection for the vegetarian guests. The pulled pork must have been particularly tasty. I'm a vegetarian myself, but my guests still rave about it! A culinary delight for all dishes from start to finish! Kudos to the kitchen! I would like to say a big thank you to Ali from the service department, who was very helpful to me in advance and always helped me with the decorations. At the celebration, our guests were well looked after by him. We didn't miss anything. He was very attentive and quick and always friendly! You hardly find anything like this in the catering industry these days! Even his colleagues who were not specifically assigned to us took care of individual requests despite the beer garden being full. Thank you very much for that! We wanted to stop at the Schützenhof and could only read: until September 5th. Company holidays - it would have been nice if you could have read that on the homepage, it says open continuously from March to mid-October. Thanks for that.

Absolute insider tip for Turis. We went up based on a private recommendation. Absolutely quiet location. Friendly staff. Reservations under the maple trees are recommended.

I've been here several times and I always think it's something special. Firstly the Franconian cuisine with its beautiful beer garden and then the wonderful view of Würzburg. The food is very good and the staff is very friendly. The Schützenhof is easier to reach on foot but by car. I'd love to come by again.

Traditional restaurant on the heights of Würzburg. The terrace is very beautiful with a view of the city. Fruit wine specialties (strawberry...). The soup was delicious. The service is very good. A must if you visit Würzburg. Not far from the Käppele church.

Nice view over Würzburg. Large parking lot, about 200 meters on foot. There are also parking spaces directly in front of the Schützenhof. Unfortunately, the quality of the food wasn't quite as good as we wanted, but that's a matter of taste. Addendum: We went there several times because of the view and the quality has improved greatly! Thumbs up and therefore 5 stars

Breathtaking views with excellent Bavaria style kitchen and food.

We were excited about the great-sounding drinks: iced tea made from forest fruit and green tea with fresh lime and cherry syrup (highly recommended), peach melon punch (unspectacular), white wine spritzer (perfect on the hot afternoon) and rhubarb spritz (a dream). The iced cucumber soup was great. The "Franconian pork duet" consisted of fried loin wrapped in bacon (delicious!), Silvaner ragout (too much salt for my taste), colorful braised vegetables and spaetzle. The "bread salad" promised a taste explosion: bread roasted with garlic oil (really delicious!), vegetable salad with olives and feta with a citrus dip (also delicious) and homemade falafels (fried too crispy). All in all, a good meal that we would be happy to make the trip up the mountain for again. The ambience is a dream, especially on warm days with the view over Würzburg.

When I visit relatives in Würzburg, an evening at the Schützenhof is a must! Location and view are wonderful. The menu offers a number of meat dishes as well as various very interesting vegetarian dishes / there is also something vegan. There are also always changing daily meals and very tasty desserts. Everything is of high quality and beautifully presented. This visit we had reserved a table outside, but the weather was too changeable. Despite the enormous activity that day, we were given a table inside. Thank you! And despite the busyness, the entire staff was very friendly. We are already looking forward to the next time!

Went there for dinner last week. There was space and the view was great. Iced tea was good. The food was nothing special...but you can eat it. We had two types of pork with spaetzle and pork belly with horseradish dumpling. The staff paid little attention to newcomers but little to those who were sitting. Had to ask for the drink twice. They also don't look to see whether the glasses are empty and whether you might want something else.

Food was only in the upper category in terms of price, taste was rather average. The staff was friendly and quick. Here you pay for the very nice ambience.

The 4 of us went there for dinner in front of the theater, it was really good food, the service was very friendly and accommodating. We will be happy to come back.

The dumplings still have room for improvement. Otherwise, great views over Würzburg. A big mango that we heard from all the tables and of course we were all affected, all drinks were much too warm. The food was good but the service was a bit haphazard

Almost very good for a garden restaurant, but difficult to find. The information signs are rather sparse. If I hadn't "studied" there?! Very pleasant service with uniform clean clothing from the staff (rare these days). The dishes are Franconian and vegetarian, as well as traditional: not an everyday menu. The view over Würzburg under the shady trees: very beautiful. A recommendation if you visit the Käppele or just want to enjoy the fantastic view

I'm not really that picky about food but I was really disappointed with this restaurant. I ordered a punch with chicken strips and I had a hard time finishing it because it didn't taste good at all. Chicken was so dry that it was hard to chew, other ingredients in the punch were mixed together so inappropriately that I couldn't eat half the portion. The view is really enchanting but at such prices the kitchen could really try harder. Never again

We celebrated a family celebration with 24 people at the Schützenhof. Planning together was very pleasant; Our wishes were fully met. The celebration itself was extremely harmonious, everything was well organized and the food was excellent. Waiter Abbas in particular made an extraordinary effort, was always very friendly and responded promptly to all requests. We would plan a similar family celebration at the Schützenhof again at any time.

Schützenhof is not a place where you want to spend a quiet, peaceful time in a friendly and positive atmosphere. The stuff itself - very gloomy, some are arrogant without any knowledge of how the table needs to be served.... and GUESTS MUST BE SERVED as well, especially if this is YOUR CHOICE for a job... ( temporarily - during your study\karma-yoga practice or permanently.... till the rest of your days... ) If you can not simply listen and work as a subordinate, how are you planning to work somewhere else, where managers\CEOs and administrators emphasize the importance of discipline, taking orders and fulfilling the will of the higher management and hierarchical structures, taking responsibility and bringing tasks till the end-result with the best quality possible?! LEARN EVERYWHERE, rather than pick your nose and look at the watch on your Handy🤣, in the hope of already leaving, forgetting this day, and breaking away with your friends. Take as an example managers of restaurants who do not even identify that they are managers and serve people during the day like a regular waiter does... No lactose free milk, no gluten free options. The rhubarb cake was like a piece of .... khmm. Not recommended. If you try to make something healthier( HIGH FIVE!👍:) ), make sure your recipes are tasty as well. As for the Apfelstrudel - bake it, it was half ready to be served with a vanilla sauce "from- a-Tetra- Pak- taste". Not recommended either. Home-made sauce with hints of vanilla bean and cardamom would be a perfect addition to a properly baked Apfelstrudel. Even though you can see the city from above, the ambiance itself is quite old-fashioned. Traditional German whatever? Well, everything needs to be upgraded from time to time... The chairs are very uncomfortable, as for the inside - it stinks - renovations are a must. While ordering the starter, two mains, and a dessert, we were totally disappointed with the duck, which was over-salted and also cooked in red wine without prior identification on the menu---> (contains alcohol). The only thing that the staff and the kitchen could've said was: "You had to ask us how salty it is and if it contains alcohol." It's good to be aware that if you call yourself a restaurant, you should know that a client has the right to send a dish back to the kitchen, and you are obliged to bring it back in the state the client wants even after it was served. What if there is hair on a plate from someone else's head in the kitchen?? Otherwise, change your name & concept to a pub with fast food or a Biergarten only with drinks and salty snacks... Until recently internationals could not pay for anything with a visa or MasterCard \credit card. Only EC-Cards were accepted and this is in a place and city where tourists and internationals are all over.... Child friendly? Yes. A playground is on the premises. Mother-friendly - doesn't look like that...It's good to remember that mothers take care of children and do not come into your "restaurant" to flaunt burp-free, dirt-free, stainless clothes preferably with a décolleté and "yes, everything is perfect!" attitude. How you cook, serve, talk - this is how you will be treated and not according to how it is supposed to be....according to hmm WHO? Societal norms and prejudice. Coming for dinner in a Michelin Star restaurant in dirty clothes is a bad tone; coming to your place - is a FAVOR FOR YOU. So HURRY UP when you get an order - some of you need to LOSE WEIGHT! It's good when the reputation of your facility is built on how delighted people feel AFTER they receive your service and food. Building a corporate reputation is costly. If 90% don't feel contented and elated, and the other 10% do because beer is there, then such a "restaurant" is worthless...💫

Cheese sandwiches with fried onions eaten at the Würzburg wine festival on the market square. It was lukewarm and I ate much better. €12.50 is too expensive for that. Wouldn't come again. But very nice service.

We have always been very happy with the food, but today we were very disappointed. Schnitzel Viennese style was as thin as a breaded slice of sausage and then partially burnt. Unfortunately the portion was so small that we went home hungry. It's a shame, we always enjoyed being there. The service was great.

We celebrated our wedding at the Schützenhof. From start to finish everything was as we wanted it to be. Lunch at the long wooden table on the terrace was delicious and superbly prepared! Here we also had coffee and cake that we were able to bring with us. The ambience here was simply unique with the great view. Our decoration was implemented entirely according to our wishes. In the evening we celebrated with other guests in the fountain room after a delicious cold buffet with DJ music until late into the night. The communication in advance was great! A very special thank you goes to the waiters Abbas and Ali. They did a great job, were always attentive and super nice!🙏

Wonderful view over the Sanderau, cooling old chestnut trees, very cozy and worth seeing.

Unfortunately we had mixed weather and decided to sit inside. It was uncomfortably cool/drafty and obviously we hadn't made the best choice of food. The Almschnitzel was excellent on the previous visit. Unfortunately the pork knuckles today were a bit firm to the bite, the roast pork was clear.

Everything is perfect, you shouldn't forget to visit this place 👍

Nice beer garden with a great view of Würzburg. Unfortunately the prices are very expensive (light beer 5.20 Silvaner 6.20 water 0.5 liter 5.20?). We didn't have any food because we just wanted something to drink. Service was sometimes very arrogant and inattentive, otherwise very nice. We had to wait a long time until the drinks came, or we were asked again what we ordered. Also longer waiting time to pay. Overall it's a shame, but I won't be coming back :(

It is a very nice beer garden with a great view over Würzburg and shady places under chestnut trees, but also sunny places. The service is extremely friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the asparagus was fibrous and difficult to cut and the asparagus soup had hardly any asparagus. This was immediately made good with an extra dessert and espresso. We come here to eat on all of our many visits to Würzburg. It's a nice place.

It's just fine to have a drink and enjoy the view. The service was a disaster, first having to wait 30 minutes for service and then another 40 minutes for drinks. The food was really bad. The children's schnitzel was cold and very dry. The cheese spaetzle was barely edible and the alpine schnitzel with cheese and schnitzel was as thin and dry as the sole of a shoe. Paying was also a challenge. You had to ask 5 times to finally be allowed to pay and they always said I would send someone.

The service was friendly and the food was also very good. We'd love to come back.

Sehr guter Gänsebraten, die Füllung war superb. Wir saßen an diesem nasskalten Novembertag so schön warm auf einer gemütlichen Bank. Die Bedienung/Kellner zuvorkommend. Die erste Gänseplatte auf heißer Platte, Blaukraut , Klöße auch heiß. Der Rest unserer Gans kam dann, nachdem die erste Platte verzehrt war, dann heiß auf den Tisch. Absolute Empfehlung.

Gutes essen in rustikalem Ambiente. Wir waren auf Sonntag zu acht vor Ort. Das Personal ist aufgeschlossen, freundlich und schnell. Das essen war gut und kam zur gleichen Zeit an den Tisch, uns hat es an nichts gefehlt. Wir werden wieder kommen.

Wenn Sie mal wieder richtig lecker Essen wollen ... gehen Sie besser woanders hin! Wir waren heute zu Mittag dort, mit Vorbestellung. Eine Gans für vier Personen, als Nachtisch Kaiserschmarren. das Ganze für 140 €uro. Ohne Getränke natürlich. Serviert wurden Stücke einer halben, unterernährten Gans, wahrscheinlich gefrohren zersägt, dann die Stücke dann in der Röhre gegart- teilweise verdörrt, vertrocknet, geschmaklos Die Krönung war die angebliche Füllung: rechteckige Scheiben einer nicht definierbaren Masse, an einer Seite festgebacken. Wahrscheinlich aus einer Assiette wie ein Leberkäse, nur ungeniessbar. Nach einer Beschwerde wegen der servierten Menge hieß es, die andere Hälfte der Gans würde noch gebracht werden ... kam auch nach eine halben Stunde. Unsere Gans hatte insgesamt übrigens drei Flügel und nur ein Bein, ein paar kleine Bruststücke ... dazu gabs Klöße etwa so groß wie Tischtennisbälle, 2 Stück pro Nase. Die waren aber geschmacklich in Ordnung. Dafür war der Kaiserschmarrn das Letze, was man unter diesem Namen servieren dürfte. Kalt, grässlich trocken, mit einem billigen Supermarkt-Apfelmus und Konserven-Preiselbeeren gereicht.

Dieses Lokal kann ich nur wärmstens empfehlen. Das Essen war sehr lecker. Der Service ausgesprochen freundlich. Man fühlt sich hier sehr wohl. Und die Terasse bietet einen wundervollen Ausblick über Würzburg und Umgebung. Ich kann es jedem nur empfehlen hier einzukehren. Ob alleine oder in einer großen Gruppe, Sie werden es nicht bereuen. Wir sind nach einem Betriebsausflug mit knapp 50 Personen im Schützenhof eingekehrt. Wir hatten im vorraus angefragt und konnten aus einer großen, vielseitigen Auswahl an Gerichten auswählen. Die vorherige Kommunikation, die Ankunft und der Ablauf waren super unkompliziert und sehr routiniert. Der ganze Abend, die Atmosphäre, der Service und vorallem auch das Essen waren sehr gut. Rundum ein toller Ausklang für den Abend! Vielen Dank an das Team!

Einzigartige Lage mit Blick über die Stadt! Fränkische Küche, gut gemacht. Für meinen Geschmack etwas zu teuer angesichts einfachem und rustikalem Erscheinungsbild von Einrichtung und Speisen. Kleiner Spielplatz. Im Sommer auch Theateraufführungen.

Waren gestern zu Gast im Schützenhof, sind schon öffters dort gewesen und waren wie immer sehr zufrieden. Das Kraut war zwar nicht so durchgezogen und bräunlich wie sonst aber auch sehr gut und die Bratwürste groß und gut. Die Berliner Weiße, die wir eigentlich immer dort trinken, stand zwar nicht auf der Karte wurde aber zubereitet.

Das Essen war durchschnittlich, dabei hatte ich einen Salat mit Ziegenkäse. Eigentlich ein Gericht, das man lecker mit Honig leicht karamellisiert sehr gut servieren kann. Dazu noch ein paar Granatäpfelfrüchte und etwas Dressing. Ein gutes Olivenöl hätte auch gereicht. Aber stattdessen war der Salat mehr oder weniger trocken und der Käse auf Zimmertemperatur aufgetaut. Wahrscheinlich lagen meine Erwartungen, bei der schönen Aussicht, einfach etwas zu hoch. Das Personal war freundlich.

War vor einige Jahren da aber nach dem heutigem besuch leicht entöuscht. Ein Tisch bekommen wo die Tischdecke voll mit Essenflecken von den vorigen Besucher bekommen. Kellner angesprochen und ein anderen Tisch bekommen. Danke dafür. Algemein gutes Essen , Restaurant oberhalb der Stadt Würzburg mit Blick auf die Stadt aber bin leicht entöuscht von allem. Bitte um Verständnis aber so fühlle ich das , meine Erwartungen war anders. Tut mir sehr leid.

Ein Muss bei jedem Besuch in Würzburg, das man sich nach einem harten Aufstieg vorbei am schönen Käppele gut verdient hat. Leckeres Essen, nettes Personal.
