Good, traditional German cuisine. Very friendly service. Good value for money. They're making the most of the location and circumstances. You wouldn't know it at first glance, but it's worth a visit.

We were there for lunch with five people. The food was tasty, except for the potatoes, which were white and really not good. What was completely unacceptable, unfortunately, was that the dining room was freezing cold...my parents sat at the table wearing their jackets, which was anything but comfortable. I'd much rather pay €1 more and sit in a warm dining room. Food for thought: I indicated it was their 70th birthday when I made the online reservation; if there were also gifts on the table, wouldn't it be nice to quickly offer my congratulations?

We spent a few days in Wiesbaden and visited the Schützenhof restaurant. The service was very friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious, prepared by the owner herself. We highly recommend the venison meatloaf and the wild boar roast. The savoy cabbage and red cabbage were also fantastic. We'll definitely come back on our next visit to Wiesbaden.

I fly 4,000+ miles every year to visit family, and my first stop is always Schützenhof. The food is not only delicious on its own, but also always freshly made (nice and hot), and the service is very friendly. The entire restaurant is very clean, and the atmosphere is very relaxing. You can really relax here and spend some quality time with family/visitors. It would be a loss not to visit (both for your stomach and your soul). ♡

Highly recommended, friendly and polite service with explanations of the food on offer. We received the explanation in English because German isn't our native language. We were served delicious food and plenty of it, and the wine was also delicious. Our big friend (dog) Jay was made even more welcome and was also spoiled. Excellent value for money!

At a reunion after 55 years, six comrades and their wives met in Wiesbaden. A friend introduced us to the Schützenhof restaurant in Biebrich. We visited the venue on two evenings and were impressed by the service and the cuisine. Our praise goes personally to the staff and the manager.

The owner cooks herself, and the food is delicious. Portions are generously presented. The menu is extensive, with additional dishes available outside the menu. The staff is also very friendly. The value for money is very good. If it weren't so far away, we'd happily come more often.

Simply fantastic! The restaurant completely impressed me. You feel welcome as soon as you walk in, and the team is super friendly and attentive. The food was truly delicious, fresh, and made with love. You can immediately tell that quality is paramount here. I particularly liked the Medallion's; it tasted simply perfect. The value for money is absolutely spot on, and the atmosphere is pleasantly relaxed. I'll definitely be back and highly recommend it!

Food was fresh and amazing! I'd usually take a picture, but I dug in too quickly. Service was just as good 👏 A local gal happened to see us looking at the menu with the translate app and recommended a local to the area dish - weiner schnitzel with a cheese sauce and side salad. We really enjoy eating here; there's a great selection. There are plenty of vegetarian options, and individual requests are always catered for. The owners are generally very welcoming and child-friendly. The courtyard is a lovely place to sit; it's beautifully landscaped with plants and flowers.

Food was great. Server was really nice, introducing me the menu because the menu is only in German. It might be a bit difficult if you don’t understand a word but I find these types of restaurant better coz they feel like less tourist-y.

Reasonable german restaurant. Schnitzel was really good, but soup was not available. However, the interior of the restaurant does not look particularly nice with seats with stains, etc. But for dinner and beer, it is fine, I guess.

We celebrated my husband's 70th birthday with 34 people in the adjoining room. The menu we chose together, with several main courses to choose from, was absolutely delicious and served exactly as we wished. Even the special requests of our kids and vegans were accommodated with understanding. The service was very prompt and extremely friendly until late in the evening. It was a wonderful evening, and we would like to express our sincere thanks to Ms. Mertsching and her team. We highly recommend them.

We've been going to the Schützenhof for years and are always satisfied. The food is delicious, no matter what you order. The service and atmosphere are fantastic. Occasionally, they have live music or events like a murder mystery dinner, both highly recommended! Relatively new are the ready-mixed Kukki cocktails, ice-cold and incredibly delicious!

Great! Good, home-style cooking without any frills, always delicious, varied, and seasonal (asparagus). Salads are fresh and tasty. Prices are completely reasonable, and the quality is top-notch. Plus, a remarkable commitment to art and culture: live music in the summer (Sundays), variety shows in the winter, and more – simply fantastic! And: The castle park right outside is a wonderful place for a stroll before or after dinner.

It's better than fast food, but unlike the food at fast food, the food wasn't cooked through. Considering the location... overpriced.

Friendly people and delicious food

Went to the Schützenhof for the first time on a cozy spring evening for a class reunion. We sat outside and it was the perfect place with the perfect food. People have already talked about fine asparagus in advance, and that is now confirmed!

The dishes – cordon bleu, rump steak and tarte flambée – were consistently of high quality, lovingly prepared and tasted excellent. The warm service is particularly noteworthy: the service was extremely friendly and attentive. A nice extra was that the boss personally took the time to pour us the schnapps - this creates a particularly family atmosphere. A really great experience that we can recommend 100%. We would love to come back!

I had a super delicious Cordon Bleu. There were also golden fries, exactly to the point. Another highlight: the classic Hessian green sauce with fried potatoes and egg - very tasty and really authentic. You can taste that the cooking here is made with love. The friendly service makes the visit completely comfortable. If you're looking for down-to-earth German cuisine, you've come to the right place. I'll definitely be back!

Very nice home-style restaurant with great service, nice ambience and delicious food next to the castle park. In the summer months with a beer garden and live music. If you have enough meat, you'll also get a shot on the house. Can be recommended at any time!

As part of my magical dinner shows (mental magic around the brain), I was able to get to know the Schützenhof and its operators better. I was impressed by the team's great commitment. Everyone is very warm, familiar and the food is really delicious. The sauces in particular are probably legendary. Thank you, dear Steffi, for the fried Maultaschen on the last day of the show. This is one of my favorite dishes :-). How did you know that?

Small oasis with excellent food! The garden is a small oasis in the middle of the city, the staff and owners are very friendly and attentive. Sometimes you also get entertainment from live singers - these evenings are always something special - the food, whether schnitzel or fish, always has something special. Super delicious food at a great price. I had dinner there with my wife yesterday. I had the cordon bleu with an upgrade to fried potatoes and my wife had the mushroom cream schnitzel with fried potatoes. The food was so rich that we had to have it packed up. Absolute visit recommendation. Yesterday there was even live music in the beer garden with a top musician 💪🏻👌🏻 we will definitely be back and would recommend the restaurant to everyone who comes to Wiesbaden/Biebrich :-) Almost the best thing to forget ;-) the super nice waitress and cook(?!) shouldn't be forgotten at this point either. All three from the restaurant that I/we got to know yesterday have their hearts in the right place and are totally accommodating, keep it up 👍🏻

Well, it's just a pub, it's okay without any pretensions or experience. I only ate dessert and a potato soup. Dessert is much better, soup is fine. Service tried hard. Just stop.

The food is wonderfully fresh, just like your mother's and she could cook really well. The service is there promptly and fulfills every wish and you really feel cared for and looked after. The dishes are so delicious and large that as a 204m tall man I had to manage it and I couldn't leave anything on the plate. Simply too delicious. When we are in the area again, this restaurant will be the first and only place we will go to. Simply bomb.👍👍👍

Once again from Switzerland visiting the old homeland and discovering the Schützenhof. In the super cozy beer garden, Tafelspitz was eaten tenderly and without annoying fat with Frankfurt green sauce like my great-grandmother made it, and my partner's schnitzel was perfect from the breading to the point of cooking. Fresh salads, homemade sauces and everything at an unbeatable price for the portion sizes. Nice little menu with a great selection of regional dishes, plus a seasonal menu and two daily specials, including a curry for mainstream guests. Very friendly and attentive service. If you like freshly cooked food, this is the place for you. The inside of the restaurant is a bit old, but that may be the case. Ambiance matches the food. Thank you very much dear Schützenhof team, we will definitely come back on our next visit!

We had a very nice evening. The three ladies were very concerned about our well-being. It was a very pleasant feeling to be welcomed here. The menu only offers a small selection of dishes. In my experience, this is always positive because they only make these dishes to their own perfection. The atmosphere is relaxed and rustic and didn't seem overcrowded when we visited. You can also eat in the beer garden to the side of the guest house. All in all I would give it 4.6 stars. Gladly again. For the benefit

We visited this restaurant with a small group of 4 people. I can say that the impression of dinner can be described by the scene "Anton Ego Tastes Ratatouille" 😉 everything was very very tasty, the salad, the steak, the asparagus and a great dessert. Unfortunately, the Schützenhof is no longer what it used to be! My experience in the last 2 years, tried to get something to eat there 3 times, once in 2022 at 1:15 p.m. with a friend in the restaurant, wanted to order food, they would have lunch soon and we could only drink something! gone without a word! We could have ordered drinks twice in the afternoon shortly before 5 p.m. in 2022, but there was no food! Mother's Day this year, I was there at 11.30 a.m., 1 guest was sitting in the courtyard, I sat down with the joy of getting something to eat, the waitress came and said: have you made a reservation? If not, all they can do is order something to drink! Hello, is a restaurant that was STILL empty not able to serve meals if seats were not reserved? She said they weren't prepared for that. Someone should say that the Corona period has damaged this restaurant if you can't accept an additional guest in a courtyard that is still learning. I've been there about 70 times in about 40 years. That is now in the past. If you're spontaneously hungry, you don't need to go there without a reservation!

The side salad was good. The schnitzel with hand cheese wasn't anything special. The hand cheese stuck my mouth together, I know that solved much better. The fries were good. The onion roast wasn't anything special either. The portions were large. Unfortunately the Tafelspitz was out.
