Schützenhaus Jodlerwirt in Passau

Our goal was to park our motorhome there. The result was a wonderful evening with very friendly hosts, good food, and bloodroot herbal schnapps. After a long journey from the Baltic Sea, we received a warm welcome. Our dinner was plentiful and truly delicious, and we quickly made great contact with Sepp and his wife, Ulrike. It turned out to be a convivial, cozy evening. Sepp experienced a lot and delighted us with his singing and yodeling. We had arrived the day before the Danube cruise to board the boat in peace, so we also had a wonderful evening. But that wasn't the most important thing: The entire service surrounding parking the motorhome was perfect, and the shuttle service also worked very well. Thank you for this service. Highly recommended. Thank you very much for your service, we would come back anytime.

We were actually just looking for a parking space for a river cruise and found the Schützenhaus Jodlerwirt by chance. As soon as we entered the restaurant, it was clear to us that we had struck lucky: a rustic ambiance, traditional cuisine, and very friendly hosts. And as an added service, we were not only able to leave our vehicle in their care for the duration of the trip for a small fee, but the host also drove us and our luggage to the ship and picked us up again afterward. GREAT! A little fun fact: On the day of arrival, I ate liver dumpling soup and a juicy roast pork with bread and potato dumplings, and cabbage at the Jodlerwirt. Coincidentally, I had the same options for dinner on board. Just to have a direct comparison, I chose those, since you know that the quality of the food on board a river cruiser is a bit higher... But the Jodlerwirt was far superior to the food on board, both with the soup and the roast pork. And not just in terms of quality, but also in terms of the portion sizes. The soup featured a genuine homemade liver dumpling, while on board there were a few small pieces in the soup. The roast pork was even more obvious: at the Jodlerwirt restaurant, a truly beautiful, juicy slice of meat, and on board, a piece measuring approximately 10x10 cm, visually more like a piece of cake.

Nice, clean Bavarian restaurant with a waitress who has lots of funny stories to tell. Decent portions at reasonable prices... A cozy beer garden is also open in the summer... We'd love to come back.

Gypsy schnitzel laden with mush from a bucket... fries drenched in grease and soggy... salad with chopped iceberg lettuce and a few carelessly chopped radishes... not really dressed, just a drizzle of balsamic vinegar. Absolutely the worst thing we've ever eaten. The service wasn't friendly either. The restaurant overall was very sloppy, and many things were broken. Never again.

The food was really bad; I had diarrhea for two days afterward. I'd rather not say much about the owner… he seems like someone who's had a rough time of it.

Very nice hosts... I've been here with my RV for a few days since today, before bringing my friends back home. They're here for their honeymoon on the Danube. The restaurant and terrace are very nice to look at, and I'll try the food. Since you can only pay in cash and I didn't have enough with me, the host drove me to the bank in his car to get some cash. Great service... THANK YOU 💖 One point deducted because it's a gravel parking lot, but the service from Ulrike and Seppl makes up for everything. 💯

In addition to the owner's casual remarks, they serve a fantastic roast beef with onions, in my opinion! I'm not a fan of the dish and only ordered it for its appearance. I spied on other guests... Incredibly delicious, and the meat was cooked to perfection, like a good steak 🤌 the best I've ever had! Unbeatable value for money in the area 💪 I didn't order the dish as it was on the menu, but with fries. It worked perfectly 👌

An absolute must when we're in Passau: a quaint house, good home cooking, and if you're lucky, the host might even sing you a song and tell you a joke.

We were in Passau for a Danube cruise. We booked parking at the Jodlerwirt through Polster and Pohl. Unfortunately, that was the wrong decision. Upon arrival, we had to carry our suitcases to the pier ourselves. He told us he wouldn't make a special trip just for two guests. When we returned, and after a phone call to pick us up, he drove past, despite making sure we were aware of it. So we had to pant after him with our luggage. "I can't stop for everyone," was his reply. Service is different, even if the pier isn't too far away, and friendliness never hurt anyone. Another drawback – no card payments accepted. Fortunately, there are other parking options in Passau with real service.

Anyone who hosts the AfD is shunned. And rightly so. The host has no decency.

A very unpleasant host and hostile guests. They probably prefer to be alone. The food was limited to national cuisine, and everything looked a bit too brown. Overall, simply awful. No trace of variety. Nor of hospitality.

Were there on Sunday at 2 p.m. Drove 25 km just to hear that the opening times are wrong and that we won't be served. With the comment - "... but not in the fall" No recommendation for this service.

The Schützenhaus Jodlerwirt is somewhat hidden in Grubweg on Schützenstrasse at the edge of the forest, but not far from the Lindau pier, where many Danube cruise ships arrive and depart. The Jodlerwirt offers parking spaces for these guests for a fee and also takes them to the ship. The restaurant itself is an old Bavarian restaurant with a large hall that you don't see very often anymore. In the restaurant, a cheerful group of local men chats and plays sheep's head. It was fun there. We were here for the first time with the family and ate Wiener Schnitzel with fries and Wiener Rostbraten with fried potatoes. For dessert there was a pancake with ice cream. The Wiener Schnitzel was perfectly fried and the loose breading was a little bubbling, as it should be, and the fries were well drained and crispy fried, although the quantity was a bit tight. However, such a good schnitzel is not served everywhere. A small side salad was not included in the price, but could be ordered separately. The Viennese roast roast was also a poem. Well over 250 grams, that was quite a portion, the meat was fried to a nice pink color and the onion was fresh and slightly crispy, generously distributed over the meat. The fried potatoes were well seasoned and seasoned, but could have stayed in the pan a little longer. But that didn't affect the court overall. Here, too, it was served without a side salad. The pancake with ice cream was huge. First of all, the dough was a little too thick. We would have liked it to be a little thinner and for a dessert, the portion with ice cream and fruit filling was clearly too large, but the taste was okay. At the end, the Jodler host joined us for a nice chat and served us a really good and mild Blutwurz and because you can't stand well on one leg, he generously gave us another drink. The friendly 80-year-old innkeeper probably made his premises available to the AfD for the party's summer party, but I don't understand what this has to do with the restaurant review. Instead of just saying "Bah" everywhere, it would be better to use political arguments against this party. That would be the better way. If we feel like the old Bavarian tavern culture again, we will definitely come back. We paid a reasonable €220 for a good liver dumpling soup, 5 Viennese schnitzels, 2 Viennese roasts and 3 pancakes with ice cream and various drinks.

The roast pork on Sunday was excellent. Tender meat, flavorful sauce, fluffy dumplings, and excellent cabbage. We were all very satisfied and will definitely be back. And as a finale, Sepp added a few yodels.

We booked the parking and transfer service to the Passau Lindau pier. Since we were 2 hours early, we would have liked to have lunch. It didn't work, we had to go straight to the pier. “Can Sepp believe it 10 times?” The transport back to the car after 5 days went wrong because Sepp didn't even answer the phone. Thank God there was a taxi at the pier. Also only 3€ more expensive than the Sepp and clean!

Cozy beer garden and tasty, solid food. However, I find it impossible how other reviewers are acting as political educators and inciting people against the innkeepers. Politics has no place here and a guest is a guest as long as he behaves decently.

We were there again today. Beautiful sun terrace and plenty of good food, friendly staff. Schnitzel and everything freshly made. Always my pleasure!

Wonderful surroundings, beautiful terrace with great views of nature. The food, well, tastes are different. But it was okay!

Food mediocre and somehow there is a strange atmosphere there. Criticism will not be accepted. All of this contributes to the fact that I cannot make a recommendation.

Do you have to walk around with a leaf blower between guests at lunchtime? Condition moderately friendly. Currant spritzer is just syrup with water for 5! Euro. Food very modest and expensive. Card payment not possible. Overall very disappointing and not recommended.

Really great inn. Another real one is rare to find. Ate sausage salad. Even that something special! 😇 Beer anyway, as it should be. We arrived with the Granitbahn. It was an impressive ride and then the 200m walk from Passau-Lindau train station in the shade of the trees 😁😇👏👏

So I'll avoid this place in the future just because of your political views... if anyone offers AfD meetings in their restaurant... I don't want to eat from their menu anymore... although you won't miss anything here, as the service is very unfriendly and the food... well, what can I say... mediocre...

We went there for lunch with the voucher book. The first thing we said when we said that we had the voucher book was “it was obvious otherwise no one would come anyway” and we would have just left straight away. It couldn't be more unfriendly. Then the food was a complete disaster, everything was floating in oil on the plate. Side dishes as described in the menu are not available. We will avoid this restaurant in the future.

Very nice service and the food tastes really great. Even with a voucher book, there are no compromises at all. We were completely satisfied. Prices are totally reasonable, food is freshly prepared. Fries very tasty 😋 We had grill plates and cordon bleu. We'd love to come back!!

I do not know where to start. It was an incredible and unique evening! A candle light dinner for 2 people was booked in advance. Previous requests were addressed. There was a super harmonious atmosphere on site. The food was a culinary delight and very filling! Ulrike and Sepp contributed the rest of the evening. 2 wonderful people and hosts with body and soul. Thank you!!

Crazy, you would hardly be able to find a more unfriendly and even stupidly accosting host than this one. As a shooter, it's best to call the Schützenhaus, you can experience something! Simply hanging up on questions and talking stupidly beforehand is the last thing.

Simply great, friendly, tasty and a great host who demonstrated his really good singing skills at an advanced hour.

We were there to eat by pre-ordering, very good Bavarian cuisine, generous, freshly prepared portions. We took chicken with fries for our guests. Everything was fine.

We parked our car at the Schützenhaus for a week because of a Danube boat trip. Since there is also a restaurant, we stopped for lunch straight away. Food was good, very friendly staff and beer OK. The boss was nice, drove us to the ship with our suitcases and then picked us up again. Everything went really well!! Thank you thank you thank you!!!! So we can only recommend!!

We parked our car here during our Danube cruise. We were treated to some fun entertainment from Sepp. What a comedian. Was a lot of fun. The next time we come to Passau we will definitely visit them again.

Ein richtig gutes Aldersbacher Bier 🍺und dazu eine äußerst gute bayerische Küche 🤩. Ein Wirt, der dir sein frisch zubereitetes Gericht selber an den Tisch bringt, Witze erzählt und auch noch G'stanzl singt und jodelt, und zu guter Letzt noch a Schnapserl mit dir trinkt. Das ist Gastlichkeit und Gemütlichkeit pur 😍.

We had the jodler- and the wiener schnitzel, one came with spatzle the other with fries, both were very good although de spatzle would have done a little better with a couple more minutes in the pan imo. The jodler schnitzel came with a delicious sauce that went well with the schnitzel and the spatzle. The service was excellent. We were welcomed right in and offered a seat and something to drink. The menu is short but powerful, everything you would want from a Bavarian restaurant was there to offer. The hosts were very friendly and in for a quick chat or some banter. The prices are around the 15 euros for the main courses, which could very for different meals. The restaurant is hard to see from the road but is good to find on the map, definitely a restaurant to recommend.

Sehr angenehm. Die Wirtsleute sind überaus freundlich. Saubere Gaststätte. Essen wurde frisch zubereitet und war sehr schmackhaft. Kann auf jeden Fall weiter empfohlen werden.

Super nette Wirtsleute, fühlten uns gleich zu Hause. Das Essen ist sehr lecker, das Schnitzel übertrifft meines Erachtens sogar das der Spitzenköche in Wien. Wir werden wieder kommen.

Bodenständige Bayrische Wirtschaft, mit reichhaltiger Karte, guter Küche und freundlichen Wirtsleuten! "Leider sehr selten geworden." Gehen hier regelmäßig zum Essen, und sind immer sehr zufrieden! Mein persönlicher Favorit ist das "Schweisbratl" sehr zu empfehlen!

Wir haben beim Jodlerwirt zu Abend gegessen und waren super begeistert. Es ist ab vom lauten Trubel der Stadt und auf der großen Terrasse hat man eine schöne Aussicht. Es gab eine super Auswahl an Essen für jedermann. Unser Essen war klasse. Wir hatten halbe Hähnchen mit Pommes, den Leberkäse und einen tollen gemischten Salat und waren alle sehr zufrieden. Die Portionen waren top. Die Bedingung sowie der Chef waren sehr kinder- und gastfreundlich. Wie haben uns wirklich willkommen gefühlt und werden in diesem Urlaub auf jeden Fall noch mal dort essen gehen.

Essen klasse, Bier und Blutwurz klasse. Dazu der Sepp und seine Geschichten. Einfach ein toller Abend. Sehr empfehlenswert.

Meine Familie und ich waren wieder einmal beim Jodlerwirt. Meiner Wiener Schnitzel mit Bratkartoffeln war wieder einmal ausgezeichnet. Perfekt aus Butterschmalz ausgebacken! Eine Hausmannskost wie wir sie einfach lieben. Meine Frau hatte ein Hendl, gut gewürzt, die Haut knusprig und Resch und vor allem frisch! Die Pommes goldgelb und knusprig. Wir freuen uns schon auf das nächste Mal 😊

Einfach nur perfekt. Toller Wirt, immer zu späßen bereit, super freundlich. Essen einmalig gut. Wird auf alle Fälle das neue Stammlokal. Traumhaft. Absolut zu empfehlen.

Seit vielen Jahren steht der Sepp für hervorragende Küche und super nette Bewirtung!!! Ein Besuch bei diesem Passauer Urgestein lohnt sich immer wieder !!

War vor kurzem mit meinem Freund beim Essen dort. Wir waren beide sehr zufrieden mit der Bewirtung und vorallem mit dem Essen. Bisschen versteckt da hinten. Aber sehr empfehlenswert.
