Actually, the atmosphere on the terrace was great in the beautiful sunshine. I can't say anything about the food because they didn't want to serve us. We were allowed to order drinks and were given a menu, but it was taken away from us, and then nothing happened. When the guests at the next table, who had arrived after us, got their food and we hadn't even had a chance to order, I just paid.

Vegetarians have plenty to choose from, and there are also a few vegan options. The selection of vegetarian dishes is good and fairly unusual. However, I think alternatives for paninis, salads, and something hearty could be improved. Unfortunately, the service was a bit slow, but that didn't detract too much from our experience. You can't complain about the portions, especially the portion of fries that came with them. It would also be nice if things like mayo and ketchup were presented differently than in the standard cones. You can enjoy delicious food here with a beautiful view :)

Yes, we've been here several times during our vacation. The surroundings, with the view of Leer's leisure harbor from the terrace, are fantastic. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. I highly recommend "Schöne Aussichten" 👍.

It's lovely to sit there and enjoy the view with a coffee or cocktail. They also offer a variety of food. The dog gets a water bowl. So, everything was to our satisfaction. I enjoy sitting there again and again. It always feels like a vacation. The service is fast and good. We always come from the harbor, so we're always allowed to climb the stairs. As far as I know, you can also enter from the street without stairs. We'd go back anytime 😍

Nice view, nothing behind it. I've never seen so many spiders as here; I think I saw at least 40... There was no service at all, you had to get your own tickets... so we only had drinks.

A very nicely located restaurant. The food was good, but unfortunately, we were seated in a corner and weren't really noticed. We had to raise our voices every time to draw attention to ourselves.

It took a while for the order to be taken. The question "Is that all?" wasn't kind! It then took another 15 minutes to deliver a Coke and a Fanta. And the terrace wasn't even busy yet! But yes, the view here is absolutely beautiful!

The view was very good. It's just a tourist hot spot in Leer. The food wasn't what I expected. The tarte flambée was sticky and tasted completely off. The salad was carelessly prepared and so over-saturated with balsamic vinegar that it was just sour. The service was attentive but unfriendly at times. Overall, it's okay for a drink, but the food? No thanks. Unfortunately, I can't recommend it to anyone.

Good service and drinks were all OK, with a café and restaurant offering a truly beautiful view of the harbor. Since the renovation, the interior has unfortunately taken on the charm of a low-maintenance, somewhat soulless school cafeteria. That should be changed. Perhaps we weren't the only ones experiencing this...

Beautiful views has... a beautiful view. The coffee is tasty, the lunch is solid - I'd prefer a little less attempt to decorate the food and more optimization of the taste. A window seat in the rain, a book, and two or three hot drinks later, I was still fine; nothing was forced on me (commendable), but something was also forgotten with the food (and it was forgotten again when I asked about it...) - hence the slight deduction in the rating.

Everything was fine, with two minor points of criticism. The table could have been wiped down, and when paying with a card, it would have been nice if the waiter had shown us the amount that had been typed in.

We ordered takeaway. Pickup was on time, exactly as agreed. It was even ready for pickup. Friendly service. Greek salad, lasagna, and spaghetti Bolognese were great to go. Warm, delicious, and enough for two. We'd go again anytime.

The restaurant is ideally located near Leer harbor. As one of our friends' favorite restaurants, we enjoyed brunch there together on Whit Monday. We sat overlooking the water and the hustle and bustle on the adjacent waterfront promenade. The buffet was extensive. In addition to the standard offerings, there was also a type of tapas: warm, mostly fried international snacks, but also grilled cold vegetables. There were about 16 of us inside. There's also a lovely, spacious outdoor area. The staff was friendly without being intrusive. We left around midday, when there was still plenty of food on the buffet, and at the same time, the first delicious lunches were being served. There were several vegetarians in our group, who also had plenty of choice.

May 20, 2025: Lovely café/restaurant. The two of us were there, and we were able to enjoy the ice cream sundae and the tarte flambée Parma outside in the perfect weather. Along with two lattes. Perfect! Highly recommended.

Well, it's extremely expensive and the reason people go there is more to do with the location. Tourists don't know their way around; the location is top-notch, everything else is "meh," more for those in need of a reputation. There are actually several establishments in Leer that are considerably better, just not directly on the water. Guests pay for the location, for their own need for a reputation, and for completely overpriced, mediocre drinks and food. And yes, pre-baked rolls, lukewarm coffee, rolled-up, shiny cheese, and salads from a ready-made bag are normal there. So, nothing special, except for the "location" and a bit of seeing and being seen, on the level of a small East Frisian town. You could also say "Camp David level." But if you like it, everyone wants to be seen the way they want to be seen.

We went to Schöne Aussichten on Saturday as a group of 14 people... We had made a reservation and clarified a few things via email beforehand, just to be on the safe side... The email contact was very friendly and always very quick. We arrived with three wheelchairs and several walkers... which was absolutely no problem. The staff quickly moved a table aside and everyone had a comfortable seat. Overall, the staff was very friendly, answered questions about the menu in detail, and always had a smile on their faces. The menu is extensive enough, and everyone should find something. The food arrived quite quickly, and everyone was completely satisfied... There was a wheelchair-accessible restroom on the same level... The other restrooms are located downstairs. Great view of the water/harbor... I can recommend the restaurant with a clear conscience, and we will definitely come back...

Nice restaurant right on the water with an outdoor terrace. The interior is rather cool. The breakfast buffet is apparently popular on Sundays. We went for lunch (from 12 p.m.) and had, among other things, currywurst, lasagne, chicken nuggets and a salmon sandwich. Lasagna was very tasty, but the sauce for the currywurst was a bit too sour. The salmon sandwich consisted of a toasted bun spread with mustard and topped with egg, tomato, cucumber, lettuce and a large portion of warm salmon. The portion was quite large and actually didn't need the fries. But very tasty. Service attentive and friendly. Price level appropriate.

Very nicely located on the water, definitely very crowded in summer. We had Sandwich/schnitzel/cheeseburger We were all very excited. Yummy + Dog water bowl, great. My little one misbehaved a bit at the beginning, but the staff responded with amusement and my little one felt at home. :))

Restaurant with terrace on the water.

I can't say food, I couldn't/weren't allowed to order anything. We came in, there were 4 waitresses at the counter, there was only a small "Hello" and we chose a place, it wasn't very busy. We took a quick look at the menu and quickly realized it was coffee and cake. It's a shame 4 or 5 waitresses walk past us, no eye contact, no one asked. So after 20 minutes soo out again. SHAME SHAME

Very nice view, nice terraces - that's true. The young waiter made an effort, in the past you would have said "he tried hard". The price-performance ratio doesn't really fit. You had the feeling that the chef here was more of a master fryer. But as is often the case, you live off the tourists and there are certainly enough of them. I would rather not become a regular here.

Nice restaurant in Leer. Large terrace overlooking the water and a beautiful pedestrian bridge. The staff is smooth and friendly. The lunch, although we weren't allowed to say so because they didn't do lunch, was excellent. The coffee cups were large, almost mugs, and the coffee was nice and hot.

A beautiful view of the harbor is true. A very friendly guesthouse. You can spend a few pleasant hours here in peace and quiet. A good selection of food and drinks. However, I found my €15 pasta with a little oil, Parmesan cheese, and cherry tomatoes to be rather mediocre. A prepackaged dish wouldn't have tasted any worse—in fact, the opposite. The tarte flambée, on the other hand, was good.

We wanted to make a reservation for 30 people at the Schöne Aussicht in Leer - a huge mistake! 😡 A completely absurd menu suggestion came via email: salad as a starter and then… another salad (Caesar Salad) as a main course?! 🤦‍♂️ After several calls, no one could give us any information. Sometimes no one was responsible, then the boss was on vacation. On the seventh call we finally reached someone - but they didn't know anything! 🙄 After half an eternity we finally called back, but instead of finding a solution, they also became rude. Conclusion: There are enough other restaurants in Leer - we won't set foot in here anymore! 🚫👎

Facilities could be a bit more comfortable but it was okay. Service was good, but the breakfast buffet was small and the rolls were unfortunately baked rolls. Price was okay but we are used to better

Unfortunately, our buffet breakfast had nothing to do with beautiful views. We were registered there in January 2025 with 4 people and were led into a room behind us. The acoustics there are unbelievable. Next to us there was a huge table occupied by a company. Nothing against these people, but the organization and planning of the table selection by the team was catastrophic in this case. The service for drinks only took place once, although we were assured that someone would come regularly to check on everything. The buffet itself was really tasty and there was enough to choose from, but there were also problems getting through to the front area due to the narrow passage. When we were finished and left, we had to go through the narrow passage where the buffet was on the left and right and we immediately felt like we were in another world. The front area was so pleasant and the acoustics were so good that we wished we had had a place there. We definitely won't come back for breakfast.
