Schöne Aussichten in Leer (Ostfriesland)

Exciting location right on the water.

Nice restaurant right on the water with an outdoor terrace. The interior is rather cool. The breakfast buffet is apparently popular on Sundays. We went for lunch (from 12 p.m.) and had, among other things, currywurst, lasagne, chicken nuggets and a salmon sandwich. Lasagna was very tasty, but the sauce for the currywurst was a bit too sour. The salmon sandwich consisted of a toasted bun spread with mustard and topped with egg, tomato, cucumber, lettuce and a large portion of warm salmon. The portion was quite large and actually didn't need the fries. But very tasty. Service attentive and friendly. Price level appropriate.

The food was good and so was the service. Of course the view is wonderful. An absolute highlight in the sun.

Very nicely located on the water, definitely very crowded in summer. We had Sandwich/schnitzel/cheeseburger We were all very excited. Yummy + Dog water bowl, great. My little one misbehaved a bit at the beginning, but the staff responded with amusement and my little one felt at home. :))

Spanish tarte flambée was ok, price performance was borderline at just under €17. Ingredients were fresh. Side salad a little wilted, ready-made dressing not recommended.

The essence and the service are really great! The menu has a lot to choose from, there is something for everyone! I can really highly recommend it! The view, as the store says, is also very good!

I can't say food, I couldn't/weren't allowed to order anything. We came in, there were 4 waitresses at the counter, there was only a small "Hello" and we chose a place, it wasn't very busy. We took a quick look at the menu and quickly realized it was coffee and cake. It's a shame 4 or 5 waitresses walk past us, no eye contact, no one asked. So after 20 minutes soo out again. SHAME SHAME

Nice service and, as the name suggests, a beautiful view

Very nice view, nice terraces - that's true. The young waiter made an effort, in the past you would have said "he tried hard". The price-performance ratio doesn't really fit. You had the feeling that the chef here was more of a master fryer. But as is often the case, you live off the tourists and there are certainly enough of them. I would rather not become a regular here.

Was invited there for breakfast. The breakfast buffet could have had a bit more circulation and juice or something similar unfortunately had to be ordered separately. That's why not quite 5 stars, otherwise very friendly staff and nice location.

Nice restaurant in Leer. Large terrace overlooking the water and a beautiful pedestrian bridge. The staff is smooth and friendly. The lunch, although we weren't allowed to say so because they didn't do lunch, was excellent. The coffee cups were large, almost mugs, and the coffee was nice and hot.

A beautiful view of the harbor is true. A very friendly guesthouse. You can spend a few pleasant hours here in peace and quiet. A good selection of food and drinks. However, I found my €15 pasta with a little oil, Parmesan cheese, and cherry tomatoes to be rather mediocre. A prepackaged dish wouldn't have tasted any worse—in fact, the opposite. The tarte flambée, on the other hand, was good.

We wanted to make a reservation for 30 people at the Schöne Aussicht in Leer - a huge mistake! 😡 A completely absurd menu suggestion came via email: salad as a starter and then… another salad (Caesar Salad) as a main course?! 🤦‍♂️ After several calls, no one could give us any information. Sometimes no one was responsible, then the boss was on vacation. On the seventh call we finally reached someone - but they didn't know anything! 🙄 After half an eternity we finally called back, but instead of finding a solution, they also became rude. Conclusion: There are enough other restaurants in Leer - we won't set foot in here anymore! 🚫👎

Facilities could be a bit more comfortable but it was okay. Service was good, but the breakfast buffet was small and the rolls were unfortunately baked rolls. Price was okay but we are used to better

Unfortunately, our buffet breakfast had nothing to do with beautiful views. We were registered there in January 2025 with 4 people and were led into a room behind us. The acoustics there are unbelievable. Next to us there was a huge table occupied by a company. Nothing against these people, but the organization and planning of the table selection by the team was catastrophic in this case. The service for drinks only took place once, although we were assured that someone would come regularly to check on everything. The buffet itself was really tasty and there was enough to choose from, but there were also problems getting through to the front area due to the narrow passage. When we were finished and left, we had to go through the narrow passage where the buffet was on the left and right and we immediately felt like we were in another world. The front area was so pleasant and the acoustics were so good that we wished we had had a place there. We definitely won't come back for breakfast.

Good food at a fair price, you'll be full and it tastes super delicious. A beautiful view of the water and cozy atmosphere. The service staff is friendly, could smile more often 😃 especially the older women.

We had breakfast today on February 19, 2025 at the “Schöne Aussichten”... Never again !!! The selection is quite manageable. . ice cold scrambled eggs and bacon. . .baked rolls from Coppenrath or other origins. . . Cheese already had a very dry edge that started to curl. . .3 women serving staff stood there drinking coffee themselves instead of taking care of the guests who would have liked to order another coffee! ! ! Dear beautiful prospects team. . Go to the Arkadenhaus in Papenburg and see how breakfast works and how customers are treated!

Coffee with cake tasted good. That's why we ate there in the evening. We weren't disappointed. Modern, clean look. Staff is friendly and helpful. Dog is allowed. Nice view over the harbor.

During the last visit there was an episode with a dog owner and dog in which the service was anything but confident. Customers left.

The food was an absolute joke in relation to the price. Schnitzels were extremely dry, fries were also just dry and the portion was very manageable. Mayo is served in a cheap sachet. Pasta and sandwich were okay, but ridiculous for a bill of over 80 euros (without excessive drinks). The toilets were very dirty. The dining room too. So this will be the last time we will eat there. We're willing to spend more money for good food, but that doesn't even begin to fit together here.

We enjoyed lunch here. The restaurant is pleasantly busy, easy parking nearby. The food was good, a neat and clean restaurant.

For a quick snack, coffee and cake is good. Visited by younger guests. Beautiful view of the harbor of Leer.

Breakfast was average at best. Rolls very dry, had the feeling that they were from the day before 🙈. Nutella and the bread spreads weren't anything original either, so something cheap 🙈. We didn't like it at all and so we'll probably have breakfast somewhere else next time. 🙋‍♂️

The restaurant “Schöne Aussichten” in Leer is really worth a visit! The location right on the harbor is simply fantastic, and you have a great view of the water, especially from the terrace. The atmosphere is modern and cozy, so you immediately feel at home. The menu offers something for everyone – from tarte flambée and bowls to burgers and pasta. The portions are generous and the quality of the food is impressive. The service was friendly and attentive, although it can take a while when there is a lot of traffic. But the relaxed atmosphere and the view make up for it. Particularly positive: The restaurant is designed to be family-friendly and barrier-free, making it accessible to everyone.

Nice café at Leeraner Hafen. Unfortunately, the toilets are in the basement and therefore inaccessible for customers with disabilities.

Breakfast buffet far too expensive for the limited offering

I always enjoy coming here! The Spicy Burger is my absolute favorite. The Sunday brunch is also a real highlight: great selection, fresh ingredients and a relaxed atmosphere with the best views of the harbor. Absolutely recommended!

Nice location in Leer. More relaxed atmosphere than in the Extrablatt or the Celona Bar. Unfortunately it was cold outside and inside the cold air blew past the windows.

I was there on Thursday with my friend, and because I was there with my friend, one of the waiters looked really unpleasant and his looks were really derogatory. Even what he said was just disgusting. What does it matter to you who I'm there with? You are just waiters and nothing more. I'm the customer, and the only thing that matters is customer service, not meddling in guests' personal lives. That's none of your business! I really wouldn't recommend anyone to go there. The restaurant looks nice, but the treatment of customers is simply subpar

Nice restaurant, food was disappointing for us. Bruschetta consisted of a slice of toasted brown bread with diced tomatoes, lightly seasoned. Tarte flambée too soft in the middle, difficult to cut and eat. Service was okay

Nice views? Yes, we - a group of 14 people - would have loved that. We were led through the restaurant to the very back and seated in a corner where none of us had a 'nice view'. Everyone looked at a wall or house wall. The tables definitely could or should have been placed differently. There certainly could have been another spot for our group - when we arrived and when we left, many areas were unoccupied. The service staff could hardly get through between the table and the wall, so some of the dishes were simply passed over the table. A 'musty' tasting juice spritzer was taken back with a 'rolling' eye from the waitress. Otherwise the food was okay - but nothing more. All in all: unfortunately no nice views, unfortunately not good service and unfortunately not good food. So there is no reason to visit this restaurant again. Very unfortunate.

Really nice view and delicious cake

Great place to sit with family, friends and colleagues with a beautiful view of the Leda. Affordable prices but nicely served drinks. Coffee with oat milk is no problem and the Jägermeister is served ice cold. I have little to complain about, which I don't need to go into further here. It's definitely worth a visit. Fun Fact: One of the famous cocktails had to be renamed due to complaints, if I understand correctly. A look at the map is sure to make you smile. Just take a look :-)

The schnitzel is fried in the same fat as the fish. You eat meat and taste chicken for the money you get on your plate. Nice waitress indeed.

We have known the restaurant for more than 20 years and have always found it a shame that it is not possible to develop a creative menu in this nice place. On the contrary; the level got worse and worse. Unfortunately, the prices have now become so high that we simply can't or don't want to afford it anymore. The price of simple pasta dishes has more than doubled in the last 5 years. And the simple glass of wine is also very expensive. Unfortunately for us, that's not the case anymore, because our salary hasn't doubled...

The name says it all, really nice location right on the harbor basin. Very quick service during our visit. The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly. We always enjoy being there.

It's a nice place, I ate there for the very first time today with my boyfriend. The chairs are a bit too small and uncomfortable but there isn't a lot of choice of dishes which I actually think is a shame. We ordered chicken BBQ and my friend had a hair in his food. We paid for everything and went out to eat somewhere else because we had no appetite to eat anymore after this incident. the service and staff were very nice and friendly and as I said before, the restaurant is beautiful.

Particularly fantastic when the weather is sunny and nice - so far just different drinks at different times with different people has always been a win.

Absolutely recommended! The food was both beautifully presented and incredibly good and tasty. Despite the slightly darker color of the Wiener Schnitzel, it was very juicy, but the fries were as crispy as you would expect. The service was very good, the staff is very accommodating and cares about happy customers. The ambience right on the harbor bank is very well done. The café was well attended on Saturday lunchtime from 4 to 5 p.m., but we still managed to get a seat despite having reserved tables for the evening.

The beautiful view is located directly at the harbor in Leer and has been the meeting point for us friends and family members for years when we arrive in Leer.

Well, clearly not the best in terms of cuisine, you can eat it. The prices are too expensive for what is on offer. The view is beautiful. Cake is great!

Beautiful views, the restaurant itself is located directly at the harbor in Leer, but my wife and I were eating here, the Viennese style pork schnitzel was an imposition, it was pressed schnitzel meat and very dry, when I complained the service employee said that the meat was fresh I get it from the butcher and then prepare it in the kitchen. My opinion is that the pressed product is delivered frozen. Not recommended for me.

View was good, there was a window seat, nice staff but... We were there on Sunday lunchtime and had a breakfast buffet, and it was terrible and not enjoyable, the buffet was cold, warm, with lunch, there was Gordon bleu, which was tough and dry, and also cold. The pasta casserole only tasted like cheap pesto from Aldi and was totally over-seasoned, all you could eat were the melons and the pudding. Rolls weren't fresh or crispy either. There were four of us and none of us were thrilled. For us, eating here is done.

Friendly, mostly young waitresses who are on the ball. Plus of course a great location. The prices are normal, although the Bacardi-Cola is even cheap at EUR 6.50.

Gestern wurde mir warmes Alster serviert bei den sowieso schon warmen bis heißen Temperaturen. Wir haben es der Bedienung mitgeteilt, die brachte zwar ein neues, was aber auch nicht gerade kühler war. Beim Blick in die Speisekarte und mit Blick auf die Nebentische mussten wir feststellen, dass das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis nicht mehr stimmt. Aber nachdem man schon warmes Bier serviert bekommt, war uns die Lust auch vergangen noch was zu Essen zu bestellen.

The German name is a precise description. It’s a beautiful view on top of the sport boat Harbor. The brunch buffet is a typical convenience food mix, like a continental breakfast buffet in hotels, nothing special, but regular quality.

A café-bar on different levels and with a wonderful view of the leeran harbor. The selection of spirits and non-alcoholic drinks is very good. The cocktail “Sexual Intercourse on the Wadden Sea” caused a special laugh in our group. The service was also very good and courteous. We'd love to come back for a cocktail.
