Wir haben 2 Std. vorher reserviert. Das Essen war sehr gut. Preis /Leistung sehr gut. Bedienung beide sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Wir werden gern wieder kommen.

Wir waren heute zu zweit in der Schnitzelmanufaktur und waren absolut begeistert. Das Essen war sehr lecker und die Portion mehr als ausreichend. Das Restaurant ist sehr schön eingerichtet und das Personal war sehr freundlich. Wir werden euch definitiv wieder einen Besuch abstatten. 😁

Große Auswahl auf der Schnitzelkarte - allerdings die Toppings auf den Schnitzeln recht wenig. Beilagen müssen extra bezahlt werden und so kommt man auf ca 19 bis 20 Euro pro Schnitzelgericht. Natürlich zahlt man die Lage mit. In Leipzig im Schnizz zahlen wir pro Portion 5 Euro weniger. War für uns aber nach einer Fahrradtor ok. Guter Freisitz.

Der Service ist aufgrund von Personalmangel sehr langsam. Das Essen ist in Ordnung und der Preis niedrig.

Die Schnitzelschmiede in Zeitz ist insgesamt ein verlässliches Restaurant mit angenehmer Atmosphäre und freundlichem Service. Die Speisekarte ist klar strukturiert, das Essen kommt zügig und das Schnitzel ist klassisch zubereitet – genau so, wie man es erwartet, wenn man sich für ein gutbürgerliches Gericht entscheidet. Im Verlauf des Essens fällt jedoch auf, dass sich hinter dieser scheinbar einfachen Kulisse eine erstaunlich fein abgestimmte Abfolge sensorischer Einzelparameter entfaltet, die zunächst noch unauffällig wirken, dann aber zunehmend in eine Art kulinarische Mehrdimensionalität kippen. Die Panade entwickelt eine Struktur, die sich nicht mehr nur als knusprig beschreiben lässt, sondern eher als texturale Übergangsphase zwischen Oberfläche und Ereigniszustand verstanden werden könnte, während das Fleisch darunter eine Temperatur- und Saftstabilität aufweist, die sich jeder rein praktischen Einordnung entzieht. Je weiter man sich in das Gericht vertieft, desto stärker entsteht der Eindruck einer fast schon überinszenierten Harmonie aus Bräunungsgrad, Kantenstabilität und geschmacklicher Tiefenresonanz, bei der selbst die Beilagen nicht mehr bloß als Ergänzung fungieren, sondern als bewusst zurückgenommene Kontrastträger in einer subtil orchestrierten Gesamtdramaturgie auftreten. Die Kartoffelkomponente wirkt dabei zunehmend wie ein neutralisierender Strukturpuffer innerhalb eines ansonsten überraschend komplexen Geschmacksgefüges. Gegen Ende der Mahlzeit verschiebt sich die Wahrnehmung dann endgültig in einen Bereich, in dem klassische Beschreibungslogik nur noch eingeschränkt greift. Man beginnt, Begriffe wie „Knusprigkeit“, „Saftigkeit“ oder „Sättigung“ eher als grobe Platzhalter für deutlich komplexere, schwer benennbare Zustände zu empfinden, die sich irgendwo zwischen kulinarischer Materialästhetik, stiller Überforderung und einer leicht überhöhten Wahrnehmung von alltäglicher Gastronomie bewegen. Wenn der Teller schließlich leer ist, bleibt weniger ein einfaches Sättigungsgefühl zurück als vielmehr der Eindruck, gerade eine erstaunlich tief ausdifferenzierte, sprachlich kaum noch sauber rückführbare Erfahrung durchlaufen zu haben – eine Art gastronomische Überinterpretation eines Schnitzels, das sich im Nachhinein weigert, wieder nur ein Schnitzel gewesen zu sein.

Dieser Ort ist unglaublich. Hervorragender Service und exzellente Speisenqualität und -präsentation.

Essen und Preise kann ich nicht bewerten. Wir hatten nach unserer Fahrradtour wirklich Hunger und wollten gern dort was essen. Doch wir wurden, obwohl das Restaurant fast leer war, abgewiesen. Es wären 6 Tische reserviert und man hätte noch eine Feier zu versorgen. Wir sollten eine Stunde später wiederkommen. Auf die Nachfrage, ob es in der Nähe ein anderes Restaurant gäbe, wurde uns gesagt, dass es im Umkreis von 2 km nichts gäbe. Naja, 500 m weiter war das nächste Restaurant ...

Für die gebotene Qualität zu teuer, dazu kosten Beilagen und deren Soßen und Dips extra. Der Service war stets freundlich aber sichtlich gestresst, was dann wohl zur falschen Rechnung führte. Kann passieren führt aber in Summe dazu das wir nicht wieder kommen.

Nachtrag: Nach einem zweiten Versuch erhöhen wir unsere Bewertung auf 4 Sterne. Das Essen war recht gut, der Service hervorragend und für Zeitz wirklich gut. Wir kamen gegen 20:05 Uhr an. Am Eingang stand, dass Essen bis 20:30 Uhr serviert wird. Wir wurden etwa fünf Minuten lang ignoriert, bevor uns der Kellner endlich bemerkte. Er ging dann in die Küche, um zu fragen, ob wir noch etwas essen möchten. Das hinterließ bereits einen schlechten Eindruck. Da es noch Essen gab, wurden wir gebeten, Platz zu nehmen. Da das Restaurant für seine Schnitzel bekannt ist, bestellten wir zwei. Die Beilage, die ich wollte, war leider aus, also musste ich eine andere Kartoffelsorte nehmen. Das Schnitzel selbst war nicht schlecht, aber die Portion war ziemlich klein. Es wird mit Salat beworben. Der Salat besteht aber tatsächlich nur aus einem Blatt und einer halben Gurkenscheibe. Das ist ehrlich gesagt kein Salat, sondern nur Deko. Ich finde, die Beilagen sind zu wenig und passen nicht zum Schnitzel. Mein Partner hatte bestimmt fünf Kroketten. Am meisten stört mich aber, dass man für die Beilagen extra bezahlen muss. Das ist einfach irreführend. Man sieht den Grundpreis und denkt, es sei recht günstig, nur um dann vom Kellner gefragt zu bekommen, welche Beilagen man möchte, und dafür kommen nochmal 5 € dazu. Ich kenne kein anderes Restaurant, das so etwas macht, und ich verstehe ehrlich gesagt nicht, wie das überhaupt üblich ist – das ist doch absurd. Außerdem gibt es viel zu viele Gerichte auf der Speisekarte, die sich sehr ähneln. Das macht die Auswahl schwierig und sorgt durch die Ähnlichkeit für Verwirrung. Die Atmosphäre war auch nicht besonders gut. Eine große Gruppe saß in unserer Nähe und war extrem laut und unangenehm. Sie unterhielten sich lautstark und lachten, was die Situation für uns sehr unangenehm und nicht gerade angenehm machte. Insgesamt war es keine schlechte, aber auch keine gute Erfahrung. Das verfehlt ehrlich gesagt den Sinn eines Restaurants, das doch ein unvergessliches Erlebnis bieten möchte. Nicht genug, um einen erneuten Besuch von uns zu rechtfertigen.

Wer Schnitzel mag, ist hier am richtigen Ort. Das Essen war sehr lecker, große Portionen, schneller und freundlicher Service. Wir kommen gerne wieder. Das Kino und auch ein Parkhaus sind direkt gegenüber ;)

Tolle Schnitzelvarianten und Preis Leistung ist top

Wir waren in einer größeren Gruppe dort essen. Leider kam bei vielen von uns das essen kalt an. Und die schnitzel größen waren soo unterschiedlich das kann man sich garnicht vorstellen (die männer mussten sogar 2 Portionen bestellen, was nicht sinn und Zweck ist). Der Mitarbeiter war sehr schlecht gelaunt und hat nicht darauf reagiert. Als wäre es ihm egal gewesen. Die Frau die uns zwischendurch bedient hat war sehr nett. Fazit wir kommen nicht mehr dort hin.

Sehr nettes Restaurant, wahnsinnig guter Service! Die Bedienungen waren extrem schnell und wir mussten nicht lange auf unsere Getränke und das Essen warten, dass Schnitzel Au Four mit Bratkartoffeln was ich bestellt habe war sehr gut und reichlich. Wir wurden von der Chefin selbst bedient, Sie war sehr freundlich und gut gelaunt, obwohl das Lokal voll belegt war und es für die Mitarbeiter augenscheinlich viel zutun gab. Ich bin voll zufrieden und kann die Schnitzelmanufaktur uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen! Im übrigen, wird gar nicht , gar nicht zusammen geschrieben!

War ein bisschen fad das Schnitzel

Sehr gutes Essen, angenehme Atmosphäre und eine ausgesprochen freundliche Chefin. Wir haben uns wohlgefühlt und kommen gerne wieder.

Das erste Mal dort gewesen und wahrscheinlich auch das letzte Mal. Die Bedienung (weiblich rote haare) hat sich alle Mühe gegeben und war sehr sympathisch (deswegen auch wenigstens 2 Sterne für Service ), aber der männliche Part war distanziert und strahlte auch eine unhöfliche Art aus. Auf meine Beschwerde das mein Schnitzel sehr klein war und auch kalt kam keine Reaktion bzw. ein sorry. Das Schnitzel war Hand groß 1 Scheibe Ananas und eine Scheibe Käse 6 Kroketten und Beilagensalat den man so nicht nennen kann, weil faktisch nicht vorhanden. Schade eigentlich.

A beautiful, old, listed building with lots of charm. The service is very friendly and attentive. Dogs are welcome 🐶 and are greeted just as warmly as their two-legged companions. The food is also excellent. Good value for money. We'll gladly come back.

There were four of us eating there. The food was cold. The schnitzel was cold. The side dish left much to be desired. The drinks were ridiculously overpriced. I've never paid so much as in Zeitz. I expect something different from a restaurant that claims to be a artisanal establishment. What bothered me a lot was that the kitchen was right next to the restrooms. It would be nice if the staff smoked less. They also skimped on the lighting in the evenings. You could even hear a microwave making a whirring noise. Never again.

One of the best schnitzels I've ever eaten.

They say they're open until 10 p.m., but don't think you can just walk in and eat whenever you want. There are times when the kitchen doesn't prepare anything hot, and they only serve coffee and cake. And I wonder, couldn't they prepare cold sandwiches if someone gets hungry during those hours when hot food isn't available? The prices are rather high. A coffee with milk (Milchkaffe) costs €4.80. A single plate of food (mostly schnitzel) starts at around €17. If you just want to eat something to stave off hunger, I wouldn't recommend this place because of its prices.

Highly recommended it is super delicious

The schnitzel with letcho was disastrous. The breading on the schnitzel was drenched in fat and, unfortunately, was fried to death (hard and dry). The letcho was paprika (very hard), about 1 tablespoon. The side salad wasn't even a forkful. The hunter's schnitzel was covered in breading and had a lot of fat, but it wasn't cooked properly. The noodles were overcooked (too soft). Unfortunately, I don't recommend it.

Great food and a great restaurant

Our regular restaurant for 6 years, always on October 1st. First to the cemetery and then to the Schnitzelmanufaktur for dinner. Before everyone heads back to Bavaria and the Ruhr area. Only two people stay in Zeitz. The food is always delicious, the service is friendly, and even the leftover schnitzel was packed away. The table was reserved in advance.

We ate there yesterday. The service from the bald gentleman was good, although we didn't get a recommendation when we asked for one. Food: The meat had hardly any seasoning like salt or pepper. Fried potatoes, mushrooms, and onions were burnt and bitter. We were promptly given a new dish, only for the bacon to be burnt. (I only ate it out of hunger.) Cheese schnitzel: Overall, a joke. A small schnitzel with just two different slices of cheese on top, and Camembert. Not seasoned either. The side dishes: The price for the few croquettes and fried potatoes was outrageous. €5.20 for about 80g of fried potatoes is unjustifiable given the quality. And then the lady serving: She's not seriously standing or squatting next to the main entrance, smoking a no-go cigarette, and to top it all off, she's back at the counter without washing her hands. Never again. Conclusion: Very poor quality Service: Average Atmosphere: Nice location, tidy and clean. Chairs: Uncomfortable.

This was one the best meals I've had in a long time. This place is incredible. Great service and excellent quality food and presentation. Danke schön.

I was there with a whole tour group (49 people). I had pre-ordered food from the bus menu. The food was delicious, the service friendly, and the atmosphere was very pleasant. Thank you very much and I definitely recommend it.

Unfortunately, I had a very bad experience. The service was poor; the waitresses reached over you while serving and clearing, food fell off the plate during serving, and half of your order was forgotten. The food was also poorly seasoned and not well presented. The wait for drinks and food was far too long. Unfortunately, for a schnitzel factory, they only serve pork. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

Very friendly staff. They were my saviors in a pinch! The atmosphere is more cozy than it appears from the outside. We only ate sweet potato fries. They were very good.

A restaurant in a beautiful location near Moritzburg Castle in Zeitz. The schnitzel dishes are moderately priced, but be aware that side dishes like fries cost extra.

Oh dear... What's the point of the sign at the entrance saying the staff are on break between 4 and 5 p.m.? I can't understand that. The guests don't really care, since the restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. And besides, the staff constantly sit outside at their tables and smoke, which isn't appropriate either. I don't only see the negative side... But the restaurant advertises itself as being open all day, and that's precisely why I find this notice inappropriate.

We ordered two schnitzels to take away today: one Prague schnitzel and one schnitzel ou four. You had to use a magnifying glass to find the seasoned meat. It had no seasoning at all, and the fries were barely fried. The fried potatoes used to taste better, too. The food was overpriced. We were used to better.

We visited Moritzburg Castle today and wanted to finish off with lunch at the Schnitzel Manufaktur. Unfortunately, we were turned away because we didn't have a reservation. Such a shame!

Very tasty food. Yes, there is almost only schnitzel. But in all variants. There is no point deduction for food. That was good. It could be a little better presented. The service was very friendly and open-minded. A deduction here, no uniform there. The mix of factory look and rustic is pleasing and creates a pleasant feeling of space. Clear recommendation.

At 2:45 p.m. there was no more food - not even soup was possible. No barrier-free access. Unfriendly, amateurish staff. Cake offer is TK. We were served by two people, but the second one didn't take orders with the reason: "Please don't order from two different people. Otherwise we'll get confused." But there were three tables occupied, so you can get overwhelmed...

Wir waren zum Abendessen im Alt Zeitz und waren restlos Begeistert !!!!! Ein kleines sehr schönes Restaurant. Hier kocht man noch mit Herz und Seele Wir hatten Rostbrätel und Fisch. Die Portionen waren groß und sehr lecker !!!!! zu einem tollem Preis-Leistung Verhältnis. Alles frisch und nix aus der Dose. Unbedingt empfehlenswert. Aber vorher reservieren sonst bekommt man keinen Tisch Alles in allem 10 von 10 Punkten wir kommen sehr gerne wieder ! Walli und Uwe Junghans aus Bayern

Just had lunch at this restaurant. The service reception was rude and unfriendly. Food ordering, zero interest in the guest. Not a word more than necessary. Ordered Wiener Schnitzel. Loveless decoration on the unseasoned breading. Waitress informed this. Zero interest. Also ordered Balkan pan and potato wedges. Lecho and cheese cold, meat lukewarm. Seasoning was missing. The warmest thing about the menu were the unseasoned potato wedges. We were promised more, but the food only filled our empty stomachs. There was zero enjoyment when visiting the restaurant. Never again.

It was a nice atmosphere. The food was tasty and the service was very accommodating. A big thank you to the chefs and the wait staff.

We were spontaneously there and decided on the Hamburger Schnitzel Veggi with croquettes and the Texas Schnitzel with fried potatoes. To drink there was red Fassbrause and a non-alcoholic Banenweizen. Service was very friendly and attentive. Drinks and food came quickly. Everything about the Hamburger Veggi was great. At Texas, the schnitzel and red beans with BBQ sauce were also very good. Unfortunately the fried potatoes were made from thin raw potato slices. As a result, they could not absorb any spices or the taste of bacon and onions. The potatoes also had a lot of starch, which can be reduced by pre-cooking them. These were also removed from the bill. All in all, a solid B as a school grade. The atmosphere is rustic but tasteful. Price/performance is fair. In the end we had just under €50 on the bill including espresso.

Price/performance ratio is simply right here. If you want to eat very well and cheaply, you've come to the right place. I recommend the XXL schnitzel to every glutton, it's worth it.

Very bad service, you call there for about 2 hours only to be told that the kitchen is closed even though it's still 1.5 hours before it closes. It seems like the phone is turned around so that the employees don't see it and that's not the first time.

The service is great but the food has become really disgusting.

We were last at the Schnittschmiede but unfortunately we were disappointed with the food. The salad with the meal was unseasoned and partly cold. You could tell that the vegetables came from the frozen food, I don't expect that given the price. Overall, the schnitzels tasted very bland to us, so unfortunately only 2 stars for the food. The staff is friendly, but there is also a lack of attention here, especially when the drinks are empty, something that good staff must notice. All in all, make an effort and adjust the quality to the price and we'll come back.

Delicious food in a rustic atmosphere

Unfortunately not recommended! The two of you arrive at around 8.30 p.m., are greeted with a blank look without a word and, after a short wait at the counter, are silently assigned a table. Unfortunately, because of us, you still had to work. We got the "shortened menu". We quickly received our ordered food. There was no bechamel sauce for the Wiener Schnitzel as written on the menu. When asked, “we didn’t have any more”. So eat or die without communication. Unfortunately, the Greek salad had nothing to do with its name but was fresh. The seasoned meat was definitely bought (canned) and the mushrooms were sour. Apart from that, the schnitzels were fried to death and pounded thinner than the breading. 50 cents per croquette is also a touch too much. When we had our food, the service staff next to us put on their jackets to go smoke. The kitchen staff followed the service with trash cans and also waved past us to smoke. We were now all alone in the restaurant. Well, even a canteen can do something like this better. I'd rather go to the Irish pub for a Fettbemme. It's a shame that you have to give this one star.

We were very lucky with our waiter, friendly and quick service. The schnitzels are tender and very tasty, one can only praise them. But the pork steaks had a lot in common with the forged anvil, very hard and tasteless, I was very disappointed with it. Hence perhaps the name “Schnitzelschmiede”

Seriously disappointed. The service was more than unfriendly to us and even a single smile would have been too much to ask. Our table was assigned to us with “The one over there.” In the past, at least you were shown to your table. When asked “This one?”, the answer was “Yes” with an eye roll. Later, we were asked several “Have you finally got something?” every minute, as you obviously knew the menu by heart within 5 minutes and of course you immediately settle on the first dish that comes along (- irony). The food can only get better, right? I would swap the “Schnitzel” in the name for “Tasteless Piece of Sole” because it was nothing more than that. On top of that, the potato wedges were neither salted nor peppered, just dried out and some were still slightly raw on the inside. Thanks, but no thanks. I'd rather become vegan and just drink oat milk all day instead of throwing another €25 out the window. Never again.

Unfortunately, it has deteriorated significantly since the change of ownership. In the restaurant you only heard the telephone and operating noises. Music would make the whole thing a little more comfortable. The schnitzels themselves were dry and tasteless. It is better to offer a smaller selection and prepare it with more love. It's a shame, because it used to be very tasty here.

Never had such delicious schnitzels before. Staff was super friendly. You should just bring some time with you as it is always busy.

I reserved a table for 6 people in advance and was very happy about that because the restaurant was very busy. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, they regularly asked how we were and whether we had any further requests. The food came very quickly after ordering. A dish was mixed up or forgotten, but was quickly re-prepared and brought without asking, including an apology. Can happen with so many guests. The food was very plentiful and really tasty. The schnitzel was large and tender, the fried potatoes were very tasty and a side salad was also available upon request. Gladly again.

Great (continuous) opening times and then at 3 p.m. there is only coffee and cake in the "Schnitzelmanufaktur". Who else is supposed to know that? The receptionist is unfriendly and says: "...everything is at the door!". I rejected the forced seating allocation and turned around. Well, good representation of the ladies :(

You can definitely have a good meal there privately. We were there with one of 40 people on a Thursday (announced). We were only offered 3 dishes to choose from in advance: Mexican schnitzel, schnitzel with mushrooms and chicken slices. The dishes were carelessly "slapped" onto the plate, there was a spoonful of salad per plate. The last dishes were cold - fries not cooked properly, meat lukewarm. A colleague wanted a vegetarian schnitzel with other side dishes - there was no way. The staff seemed overwhelmed and we weren't allowed to sit outside despite the sunshine. In the picture you can see the "Mexican" schnitzel and the chicken slices. Same price for both dishes. Compare for yourself. The Mexican sauce consisted of ketchup and corn. The only positive thing was the schnitzel. It was very large and very delicate. But everything else.........

So never again not even worth a star!!!!!! We were here many times years ago and were always satisfied. The kitchen is simply overwhelmed and incompetent!!!! We waited over 1 hour for our food. We had 3x schnitzel, one came to the table completely burnt, we complained about it and waited another 35 minutes for the replacement schnitzel. Of course the others were finished eating. The schnitzels at the table next door were also burnt. And to top it off, the chef stands in front of the restaurant entrance at 7 p.m. and smokes. And the service is non-existent, the waitress sits at the counter annoyed and unoccupied tables are not cleared away.

Price/performance is not given! Food wasn't good and service took a very, very long time (despite pre-ordering).

nice looking building. we sat outside. i‘m afraid the food was poor. the same basic schnitzel with different toppings. presentation of the food was lacking any form of love. a tiny bit of salad on the plate which was just old tired looking lettuce. the schnitzel was bland. if this restaurant specializes in schnitzel you’d think they could make a nice one. not recommended.

In contrast to previous visits, the food was not seasoned at all. Even seasoning didn't help. We were very disappointed.

Good restaurant on the edge of the castle park in Zeitz. When we were there (weekday afternoon) it wasn't full, but you should make a reservation in the evening. The food was good, the service was very nice.

We were a little disappointed with the food, but that was due to our selection. We had a salad with chicken strips - unfortunately hardly any dressing and not seasoned - and once the steak with herb butter and rosemary cream. I was only able to enjoy half of the meat because it got a little gray by then. But when I saw the other guests' plates, it was clearly better and looked very tasty. So please don't use that as a basis. Great ambience and nice service.

Long wait for the food we ordered.

We were here today for a company outing. Service was good and changes were addressed. Drinks were at the table in no time. Just put on a little smile. 😉 Now that it was ready to eat, it looked fancy and tasted like an absolute disaster. Caprese starter was well filled but the basil was missing and was simply part of it. It also says so on the menu. Salmon steak with garlic rosemary. So I definitely walked past the knobi and didn't taste any of it. Sauce was just a roux that didn't taste like anything. My colleagues were of the same opinion. Schnitzel partly ran over. You would have to speak to the kitchen staff. My salmon steaks would be a shoe sole. Steak knives would also be helpful...

We were told (you have time, the meal takes at least 1 hour) welcomed. Furthermore, there was a reserved sign on every free table, even though only 4 tables were occupied and it was late at 1:15 p.m. And that on a Sunday. The food was good and sufficient.

Good very plentiful food. Friendly service.
