Schnitzelhaus, great food, plentiful. I didn't manage to finish everything. It's located on a side street with a terrace on a square. We were amazed at what they can do with schnitzel. Keep up the good work.

The food was very good, and the staff was very friendly and attentive. I felt a little lacking in vegetables. I had to search for the advertised summer vegetables on my plate. I pointed this out to the waiter, who acknowledged it with thanks.

The staff were super friendly and helpful. Our order was taken quickly, but then nothing happened for a long time. It took a very long time for the food to arrive. The schnitzel was okay, but the fried potatoes were a disgrace. Cold and mushy, and yet the chef managed to make some of the potatoes black. That's a tough act to take. Unfortunately, not edible. Overall, far too expensive. Never again.

I was in town with my friend today. We were really craving a good schnitzel, so the "Schnitzelhaus" came just in time. The name practically conjures up the taste of a magnificent schnitzel. When we arrived, we were able to quickly choose a seat, the server came quickly, and took our order. We guessed how long the order would take, but we were both wrong. After about four minutes, our food arrived at our table. We ordered a hamburger schnitzel and a veal schnitzel. I ordered it with fried potatoes, my friend with fries. The first bite... A shock!!! Both schnitzels had hardly any flavor. The veal schnitzel was very tough, and the breading was so hard that it crumbled like an 18th-century facade. My biggest personal shock were my fried potatoes. The "fried potatoes" had as little to do with fried potatoes as I had with Angela Merkel! They were basically boiled, sliced ​​potatoes that had been heated in a pan for two minutes. All in all, a very sobering result. In my opinion, a schnitzel restaurant that serves such a schnitzel shouldn't call itself a schnitzel restaurant. Call yourself a country house, and then you can handle it (well, for the price of €30 for the veal and €23 for the hamburger schnitzel, it's almost a disgrace considering the taste). I was most disappointed by the fried potatoes; they were unfortunately not tasty at all and I would have gladly given them to my dog ​​to eat (I don't think he would have eaten them). Sorry, but in terms of taste, I absolutely cannot recommend them. We hoped to find happiness in this schnitzel restaurant, which charges such exorbitant prices, but I was just as disappointed as I was with my first great love. Unfortunately, we don't recommend them…

There are better restaurants in Schwerin

This is a must-visit when visiting Schwerin. The Schnitzelhaus is simply fantastic for those with a big appetite.

The first and last time. Deep-fried meatballs, canned mushrooms drowned in a mushy sauce. The prices are simply outrageous for this kind of food.

Very nice place to eat, the location is beautiful and quiet. You can seat next to the fountain and enjoy the subtle murmur of water. The servings were big and pork chops were very tasty. The toilet was ok. The staff was friendly. I am not quite sure why this place is rated only 4.2. Maybe the prices could have been cheaper, but on the other hand the restaurant is located in the Altstadt, so that can dictate the prices.

Other restaurants were inflexible. No tables available, but no desire for eight people. A shame.

We wanted to eat there with eight people. There were two free tables outside, a very nice place to sit. However, the staff refused to push the tables together, even though they were next to each other. They just said, "There are other restaurants back there." Impossible. Therefore, we unfortunately cannot rate the food.

It was simply delicious. The food was fresh and the service very friendly. The prices are reasonable, between €15 and €30. You get a decent portion for that. We highly recommend it.

My husband and I were there on May 15, 2025. The service was really great, very friendly and fast. The food also came very quickly, but unfortunately we were very disappointed. The schnitzels were very dry and mine were very hard around the edges (no, not crispy, just hard), as they were made in a deep fryer rather than a pan-fried one. Sorry, but schnitzels should be pan-fried. A proper chef should know this. My fried potatoes, from the looks of them, were definitely a mixture of leftovers from previous portions and fresh ones. There were so many burnt, or black, pieces that they were almost inedible. We travel a lot and like to go to restaurants, and yes, we do love schnitzel. But we have never had these two pieces like this in any other restaurant. Therefore, we can unfortunately only give the food one star and hope for other guests that the chef cooks properly or that a new one comes along. The atmosphere itself was great. What we did find a bit disappointing, however, was the tip. We wanted to pay by card, but that only worked for drinks and food. The tip had to be given in cash because the tax office was apparently causing problems. It's strange that this has NEVER happened to us before. Tipping has ALWAYS been accepted with the regular bill by card.

Like everywhere when you go out to eat, it's not cheap.

Canteen frozen schnitzel served lukewarm. That was nothing! I should have also been suspicious that I couldn't get "schnitzel with asparagus" at a schnitzel house. After all, it's asparagus season, and I'm visiting a "schnitzel house." I guess I was wrong. So, never mind, once and never again. Thanks.

Schnitzel with a difference..... Went to the outdoor seating with a real appetite. Service was quick but not intrusive. Plenty of food selection. Schnitzel and side dishes in good portions on the plate. Somewhat special schnitzel combinations. Schnitzel Gyros... Schnitzel Holstein is the favorite. With smoked salmon, anchovy, fried egg and fried potatoes. Prices okay too. A little hidden in an alley behind the market but signposted.

Both site visits: perfect! Girls' evening (inside) or family evening (outside). Service was great, friendly, proactive and quick. The food was great and the price-performance ratio was perfect. On a warm summer evening, the outdoor area in the middle of the city center, next to a fountain with a backyard feel, is very relaxing.

Schnitzel from the deep fryer. Some of the breading is still soft. We ordered extra with fried potatoes and still got rösti... unfortunately the food was lukewarm. Even the hash browns are bought in and simply fried. In a schnitzel house I expect a schnitzel that has been breaded by hand, fried in a pan, a homemade Rösti and not just warmed up food from the deep fryer. Seldom eaten so badly

We went there by chance and actually got a free table. If you are particularly hungry, the Chef XXL schnitzel will help. Prices are currently at normal levels. However, it is questionable whether a cauliflower schnitzel should cost over €20. Unfortunately the air in the dining room was very thick with oil. You still had the smell in your clothes at home. The chicken schnitzel was frozen and fried, next to dry waffles, the “salad” consisted of old, unwashed lettuce leaves without dressing/oil or similar. I was there yesterday and ordered a schnitzel with just a salad, €18.80 for a lukewarm schnitzel that didn't taste like anything. It feels like it was a ready-made frozen schnitzel as quickly as it was ready! There was also salad and three burnt strips of bread! That's absolute shit in German for the price, I'm very dissatisfied with it and won't be coming back. The service was quite good, I can't say anything about that.

We had the homemade solyanka and the spiced meat beforehand. For the main course, baked potatoes with seasoned meat and the spring salad (with chicken strips, melon and feta). Really delicious - the salad completely surprised me. This was our second time here and certainly not the last time.

The wild goulash (see picture) was the highlight. Unfortunately inedible. Looked and tasted like cat food. The red cabbage from the jar and even the dumpling were not edible. The waiter was actually very nice and took the dish off the bill, even if he said goodbye that we should just order something different next time. Thanks, but no thanks!

We were there on January 4th. here. The lady behind the counter listlessly showed us places where we could sit down. Why these places??? in a kind of niche, when in the central dining room there was only one table occupied by about 6 people? We then sat down at a table facing the counter. That evening there was a man and two young women/girls on duty. The man is certainly an expert who has learned his craft. The lady/girls should definitely be trained in dealing with guests. Sometimes very loud, like in a youth club with private conversations that you overheard as guests, but not unfriendly. But you just notice the level of quality when dealing with the guests. Had a bit of a fries stall vibe. The food was okay. The price-performance ratio wasn't right. The schnitzels come out of the deep fryer 🤨, the seasoned meat on the schnitzel... well.

We ate duck and paid just under €90 for two people, including a drink. The dumplings and red cabbage were tasty, but the duck wasn't at all. The service wasn't good either, apparently due to a lack of training, but they were all friendly. There were no tips because of the bad food. Given the quality of the food, around €40 per person was absolutely not appropriate, we were very upset about it.

You still have to work on the Wiener Schnitzel. It looked like Grandma's - just with veal. It was tasty, but not an 'original Wiener Schnitzel'. A company vacation in Austria is supposed to be nice at this time of year.

Wir waren zu dritt. Das Lokal war an diesem Tag sehr dunkel und sehr unpersönlich. Wir waren erstaunt mit welcher Vielfalt an Zutaten man das Schnitzel verunstalten kann. Der Beilagensalat war fast ohne Dressing, lieblos in einem Dessertschälchen. Für uns nicht unbedingt empfehlenswert- verspricht mehr als es hält!

Great place for schnitzel and meat lovers. As a veggie there were baked potatoes in 2 variations, so one visit was enough for me. But the meat eaters really liked it!
