⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An absolute dream for schnitzel lovers! We ate at the Schnitzelhaus today – and what can I say: simply incredible! I'm a real schnitzel fan, but I haven't had such a tender, perfectly breaded, and incredibly delicious schnitzel in a long time. My wife had the schnitzel salad and was equally thrilled – super fresh, wonderfully seasoned, and plentiful. The dessert was the icing on the cake, a perfect end to a fantastic meal. It's just a shame that the restaurant is about 800 km away from us – otherwise, we would definitely be regulars! A definite recommendation for anyone who appreciates good food and warm hospitality.

For my wife's 77th birthday, we planned a trip to Schwerin with a cultural visit to a museum followed by a nice meal. We researched online, found good reviews, so we chose a schnitzel restaurant. The service was friendly, so we ordered the winter schnitzel with croquettes. What arrived after about 8 minutes was a far too dark, dry, and, I assume, deep-fried piece of something, in which I completely missed the advertised filling. Frozen food? Because there's no time for a fresh pan-fried one. It came with 5 croquettes and a tiny bowl of salad. The price was €24. I won't comment on my wife's meal, but I will mention the lukewarm beer. I think our faces said it all. Disappointing, especially considering the bill came to around €60.

We went out for dinner last night with six people. The restaurant's ambiance was mediocre. It was very hot in the dining room and also quite dim. Some of us needed our phone flashlights to read the menu. I ordered a chicken schnitzel with pear and cheese. The price was €23.10. When the plate arrived, I was very disappointed. It was a small schnitzel topped with pear and cheese. It came with five croquettes, a small salad, and a cold cranberry sauce. It tasted like something from a fast-food joint—all pre-made stuff. The waitress then asked if everyone was full. I immediately said no and that the portion was a bit small and the price definitely wasn't justified! She said that's just how chicken schnitzels are. I asked her to pass this on. The young woman cheekily replied that it wouldn't change anyway. I said that it wasn't recommended! She then shrugged and left. She clearly didn't care! I was incredibly disappointed! There was no compensation as one would have expected. I personally will never set foot in this restaurant again and will definitely not recommend it to anyone! In my opinion, it was an unprofessional rip-off!

Highly recommended! The schnitzel and the rösti are super tasty. The service is very friendly. If we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely come back.

We went there spontaneously for dinner on October 12, 2025, with two people, without making a reservation. We were easily shown to a table. The young staff was very friendly. We'd be happy to return.

We had reserved a table and arrived accordingly, punctually and full of anticipation. We were surprised and annoyed to see that our mini-table for two was right next to a cheerful and correspondingly loud table of 10 women. Since half the tables in the dining room were still empty, we asked to be seated elsewhere. We were refused, citing reservations (which we did, of course!!!). After such a rude response, we made it clear to the somewhat disinterested waitresses standing behind the counter that we didn't want to eat there under these circumstances. That didn't interest us, and we left. And we won't set foot here again.

We can't recommend it; it's too crowded, and our schnitzel was definitely not fresh. It was dry, and the baked potato was completely mushy. When the waitress then tried to tell us in what order we should order the dishes, I was speechless.

Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio isn't right. Schnitzel is dry, portions are small. Sure, it's super central, but that's about it.

First of all: Awarding only one star doesn't mean that the food or the visit was disastrous. It's the price-performance ratio, which is completely inadequate here. If the price were significantly lower, I would have given it three stars. A schnitzel for almost 30 euros creates certain expectations. You'd expect both the schnitzel itself and the side dishes to be impressive in terms of quality and presentation. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. The schnitzel tasted okay, but nothing special and not clearly homemade. I can't and don't want to judge whether it was actually a ready-made product, but it didn't give the impression of being freshly prepared. The croquettes clearly came from the freezer, and the salads were rather small and unspectacular. In the end, what remains is a rather average taste experience, which in no way justifies the high price. If two people leave the restaurant with soft drinks and pay almost 70 euros for it, you have every right to expect everything to be perfect – but that wasn't the case here. I'd like to mention the friendly service. However, that alone isn't enough to salvage the overall impression. Therefore, I'm giving it one star. If the dishes had cost around €15, a three-star rating would have been absolutely fair.

Nice little restaurant, but in my opinion, the price-performance ratio isn't quite right. The schnitzel was okay, but could definitely be better. The fried potatoes left a lot to be desired; they were very greasy and not crispy at all. I have to say, given the price, I would have expected something different.

The quality of the food was truly outstanding, and the service was attentive and quick. The only thing I found a bit small for the price was the portion size. You definitely don't wake up hungry, though, so that's a high-level complaint.

We always enjoy eating here. No matter which schnitzel I've had so far, it's always tasted good. Fresh, hot, delicious, and plentiful. My companions have always been satisfied, too. Not recommended. Payment was not made until the bill was issued. 65 euros too much. After asking for the bill, the waiter accidentally noticed that he had overcharged for two complete meals. No apologies. The waitresses are very attentive and hard-working, but the waiter should be careful.

We had a delightful time here for lunch. I had the pasta schnitzel and my wife had the summer schnitzel. Our waiter knew enough English to serve us well and carry on a brief conversation about American basketball. The food was good and it was more than we could eat at the lunch sitting. We ate outdoors and apparently downwind from some smokers, but the wind made it less of a problem than normal. All in all, it was a great lunch.

One Monday, while passing through Schwerin, we ended up at the Schnitzelhaus because many restaurants were closed on Mondays. First, the good news: the staff were friendly and attentive, and that was about it. Prices at the Schnitzelhaus started at €22.80 and up for schnitzel, as of 8:25 a.m., so our expectations were high. We ordered five chicken schnitzels with rösti and mushroom cream sauce, and one with just fries. The fries were crispy and OK. The small chicken schnitzel and the rösti were deep-fried, frozen goods; the sauce had hardly any flavor, and we had a 0.1-liter jar of diced tomatoes as a salad. The cost was less than €3; we can get something like that for lunch here for €7.90. For €23, you can definitely expect fresh ingredients; this place is just ripping tourists off. Unfortunately, that's disappointing for a schnitzel house.

Very disappointing for a schnitzel restaurant. A side order request (fried potatoes instead of croquettes or fries) or the other way around? A surcharge of €3.50 🙄? What difference does it make if a dish is priced with fried potatoes, but you'd like fries with it? The schnitzel was bland in taste and deep-fried. A hamburger schnitzel with only one fried egg. If you want two fried eggs you have to pay extra 😒 The plates weren't well presented either. Overall, it was way overpriced. Sorry, never again. A good snack bar is better. It definitely shouldn't be allowed to call itself a schnitzel restaurant.

A complete disappointment!!! The schnitzel was dry and, in my opinion, had been cooked in a deep fryer, the fried potatoes were greasy, and the salad had been sitting in miniature jars in the fridge for a few hours. Nothing was prepared immediately. The food was served in less than 6 minutes, and that doesn't work when it's freshly prepared. Service was good and friendly. The prices would have been okay if the quality of the dishes had been right. I can't comment on the ambiance as I sat outside, but as a non-smoker, I wouldn't recommend it, as there's always someone at the other tables smoking.

Delicious. Friendly service. Right in the center

The restaurant is beautifully located—right in the city center, yet quiet and somewhat hidden away. We started with soups that tasted like homemade—simply delicious. Then, of course, we had schnitzel, perfectly prepared: juicy meat and a coating that holds its shape. For dessert, we were surprised by a special combination of ice cream with eggnog and applesauce—fantastic! Fair prices, and very friendly service. A place worth every calorie—and yet you won't feel heavy afterward. We'll definitely be back!

Generally, I can recommend this place. I expected a bit more love for a schnitzel, which costs over €23. But it's freshly made and pan-fried. The portion is decent. Let's hope the staff and service are at least above minimum wage for that price.

Unfortunately, I can't recommend it...fried schnitzel...no sauce... but ☝️!!! Prices are like those in a Michelin-starred restaurant. 128.40 for a takeaway... is TOO MUCH. And if you don't tip, the waiter tells me the restroom costs extra. Unfortunately, it's not nice.

As others previously stated, the portion sizes could have been bigger. After two wees of eating a schnitzel a day throughout Germany, this was the smallest schnitzel. The taste was good, not amazing, and there was plenty of variety. I think if you're going to call yourself schnitzel house, you should make the best schnitzels, or serve the largest. Maybe if they didn't focus on having so many types, they could focus on quality. I am not saying it was bad. If the name would've been anything else that Schnitzel Haus, probably would have given 5 stars.

A bit pricey for what it was. I asked the waiter beforehand what cut the schnitzel was from...and got the WRONG answer. It was NOT a neck steak as requested, but a loin steak.

It had everything your heart could desire around and on the schnitzel. Very tasty and filling. They should advertise more, but we only discovered it by chance.

The food was okay. We were sitting outside and it started to rain. A waiter came over and asked us to "eat faster" because they needed to "close the umbrellas quickly." When we asked if we could sit inside, we were told they had no free tables, even though we could see it was practically empty inside. We then asked if they could wrap the food for us, and they brought us plastic wrappers and told us to wrap the food ourselves.

I had an "original" Wiener Schnitzel – I'm used to it, pounded nice and thin. It was thick, like a regular schnitzel. It still tasted good. Fried potatoes without bacon weren't possible, so I chose a baked potato. It was very good. The vegetables weren't great. There was only a small salad in a jar, without much seasoning. When I asked, I was given mushrooms – finely chopped – a small spoonful. I felt like I'd been ripped off. All in all, a lot of convenience foods, but it does fill you up. The highlight was the chocolate cake at the end. That put me in a better mood.

Two of us went to the Schnitzelhaus and had a Hamburg schnitzel and an Alsatian-style schnitzel, both with fried potatoes and salad (the salad was very small). It was filling and tasty. The prices at Schnitzelhaus were a bit overpriced. We had to wait a bit longer for our food (according to the cellar, one schnitzel had burned and had to be remade), but we were compensated with a free coffee. The service was very friendly and accommodating.

I've rarely eaten such filth. A breaded schnitzel with fried potatoes arrived about six minutes after ordering. It was a greasy schnitzel with a tightly coated coating, along with equally greasy, pale fried potatoes. It must have been a pre-made frozen schnitzel, because that couldn't be made in five minutes. The staff's excuses and explanations were comedy at their best.

The schnitzels were excellent, the fries were okay. I also had a homemade gypsy sauce with it, which was really tasty. The lettuce leaves were a bit dull and could have used a bit of dressing. And besides, German prices in the larger cities are approaching Dutch prices.

First of all: it was incredibly delicious. The Schnitzelhaus isn't located directly on the market square, but a few meters away, at the Schlachtermarkt. You could call it an insider tip. It's definitely worth a visit. My girlfriend and I both ordered the "Herrenschnitzel." It consists of a really large schnitzel (the size of a half-plate), topped with Bolognese sauce, two slices of bacon, and a small fried egg, alongside fried potatoes with bacon and a small bowl of salad. What can I say? It was incredibly delicious. To my huge disappointment, my girlfriend (1.62 m tall and under 60 kg) ate everything except for a few slices of fried potatoes, despite the amount. The staff was very, very friendly, and we were asked several times if everything was okay. Therefore, we definitely recommend it!

Fries were a bit lackluster. All in all, the food was acceptable, but for the price, my expectations were higher. For a schnitzel restaurant, I would have preferred a tasty schnitzel. The schnitzel was okay, but the fried potatoes were a disgrace. Cold and mushy, and yet the chef managed to make some of the potatoes black. That's a tough act to take. Unfortunately, not edible. Overall, far too expensive. Never again.

I was in town with my friend today. We were really craving a good schnitzel, so the "Schnitzelhaus" came just in time. The name practically conjures up the taste of a magnificent schnitzel. When we arrived, we were able to quickly choose a seat, the server came quickly, and took our order. We guessed how long the order would take, but we were both wrong. After about four minutes, our food arrived at our table. We ordered a hamburger schnitzel and a veal schnitzel. I ordered it with fried potatoes, my friend with fries. The first bite... A shock!!! Both schnitzels had hardly any flavor. The veal schnitzel was very tough, and the breading was so hard that it crumbled like an 18th-century facade. My biggest personal shock were my fried potatoes. The "fried potatoes" had as little to do with fried potatoes as I had with Angela Merkel! They were basically boiled, sliced ​​potatoes that had been heated in a pan for two minutes. All in all, a very sobering result. In my opinion, a schnitzel restaurant that serves such a schnitzel shouldn't call itself a schnitzel restaurant. Call yourself a country house, and then you can handle it (well, for the price of €30 for the veal and €23 for the hamburger schnitzel, it's almost a disgrace considering the taste). I was most disappointed by the fried potatoes; they were unfortunately not tasty at all and I would have gladly given them to my dog ​​to eat (I don't think he would have eaten them). Sorry, but in terms of taste, I absolutely cannot recommend them. We hoped to find happiness in this schnitzel restaurant, which charges such exorbitant prices, but I was just as disappointed as I was with my first great love. There are better restaurants in Schwerin

This is a must-visit when visiting Schwerin. The Schnitzelhaus is simply fantastic for those with a big appetite.

The first and last time. Deep-fried meatballs, canned mushrooms drowned in a mushy sauce. The prices are simply outrageous for this kind of food.

Good food at reasonable prices. This was my second time there—and not my last. Highly recommended.

Very nice place to eat, the location is beautiful and quiet. You can seat next to the fountain and enjoy the subtle murmur of water. The servings were big and pork chops were very tasty. The toilet was ok. The staff was friendly. I am not quite sure why this place is rated only 4.2. Maybe the prices could have been cheaper, but on the other hand the restaurant is located in the Altstadt, so that can dictate the prices.

We wanted to eat there with eight people. There were two free tables outside, a very nice place to sit. However, the staff refused to push the tables together, even though they were next to each other. They just said, "There are other restaurants back there." Impossible. Therefore, we unfortunately cannot rate the food.

Other restaurants were inflexible. No tables available, but no desire for eight people. A shame.

My husband and I were there on May 15, 2025. The service was really great, very friendly and fast. The food also came very quickly, but unfortunately we were very disappointed. The schnitzels were very dry and mine were very hard around the edges (no, not crispy, just hard), as they were made in a deep fryer rather than a pan-fried one. Sorry, but schnitzels should be pan-fried. A proper chef should know this. My fried potatoes, from the looks of them, were definitely a mixture of leftovers from previous portions and fresh ones. There were so many burnt, or black, pieces that they were almost inedible. We travel a lot and like to go to restaurants, and yes, we do love schnitzel. But we have never had these two pieces like this in any other restaurant. Therefore, we can unfortunately only give the food one star and hope for other guests that the chef cooks properly or that a new one comes along. The atmosphere itself was great. What we did find a bit disappointing, however, was the tip. We wanted to pay by card, but that only worked for drinks and food. The tip had to be given in cash because the tax office was apparently causing problems. It's strange that this has NEVER happened to us before. Tipping has ALWAYS been accepted with the regular bill by card.

Like everywhere when you go out to eat, it's not cheap.
