We've been here several times while on vacation, just for a coffee or a pilsner. We also tried the menu. The cordon bleu, sausage salad, and cake are all truly delicious. The prices are good and affordable. It's very good value for money. The service is also excellent. I noticed short wait times after placing my order. The very clean interior with a pleasant atmosphere and a lovely terrace behind the building invites you to linger. The food is homemade and fresh, simply superb.

Unfortunately, it wasn't a convincing visit. There were three of us at the Schmugglerhütte and we ordered three drinks and two small dishes. The beer garden was well-filled, but there were still a few tables available. Even taking our order took quite a while – which wasn't a problem for us at first. But it took a long time before our drinks and food finally arrived. The wait staff seemed visibly overwhelmed, and there was no clear structure in the way they served the tables. The dishes themselves were simple and down-to-earth – nothing complicated – so the long wait was hard to understand. It seems like the business quickly reaches its limits with a fully occupied beer garden. Perhaps the service runs much more smoothly when the crowds are less crowded, but the overall experience on our visit was unfortunately not convincing. Conclusion: Based on our visit, we unfortunately can't really recommend the Schmugglerhütte.

The schnitzel served here is exceptionally delicious! It was even open on Corpus Christi! Highly recommended!

The currywurst was cold. Catering requires a lot of skill, the people were indisposed!!!!! The fruit tea I ordered was lukewarm, and the glass was no bigger than a thimble. Tasted like dirty water.

Outstanding... That's what I can say about the place. The food was perfect, and the service was even better. As a German with a migration background, I felt very welcome. A top-notch value for money. A schnitzel, fries, and salad were only €14.90. Hence the well-deserved €15 tip.

There was a Bavarian beer garden in the menu, there wasn't a big selection, I had a knuckle with dumplings, it wasn't anything special. The wait staff had a lot to do and didn't have much time for us

Cozy hut and super delicious food. One of the best schnitzels I've ever eaten. The fish was also simply perfect, I have rarely had such good trout. We were really excited. The service was extremely friendly and accommodating. That's exactly how it has to be. Great respect!! I'm not someone who normally orders dessert, but here I was curious and we ordered a bee sting and the Bohemian Liwanzen. What can I say, just awesome and we go home with 2kg more on our ribs and full 😁😇 We'll definitely be back and you can still get gas cheaply around the corner. What more could a Swabian want 😇

the smuggler's hut is a quaint restaurant not far from the train station👍 for train travelers who hike to the mourning forest, it is right on the route👍 the food is very tasty😋 and inexpensive👍 the staff is quick and very friendly🥰 and the portions are also " g'standnes Mannsbild" ☺️ There's also the tasty beer from the Zwiesler Dampfbrauerei 👍 which many people take with them in a “six-pack” as a souvenir and as a treat☺️ we always enjoy coming back here☺️👍

We dined here several times with a larger group. What can you say? All dishes from small to large are homemade and fresh. A culinary delight in terms of taste. The employees are all extremely friendly, even the chef comes out of the kitchen and asks his guests whether they liked it and whether they were satisfied. If you want to have a delicious meal, you should come here. The price is also absolutely right. We are really looking forward to the next visits on our next vacation.

Actually, you shouldn't rate this great location... because such a great place with really nice staff, fast, clean and tidy... can't be found anywhere anymore. By chance we ended up in Bavarian Eisenstein and stopped here based on the reviews. The place itself, near the train station, is more like a lost place, which is a real shame. It was definitely very nice here. We came in and were served quickly. Drinks came quickly, were cold and very tasty. Food was now the big question. I don't know when was the last time I had such a delicious hot soup and one more delicious salad! My husband had a schnitzel! Really very very tasty!! So really an absolute secret tip for good and affordable food!! The location is simple and cozy!

I have rarely eaten as well as I did in the smuggler's hut. 5 stars are actually not enough. The schnitzel is super crispy and the salad is crispy and fresh. If I'm on vacation here again, I'll definitely come back. And the service is an absolute A+++
