SCHMEX - EINFACH. GUT. ESSEN. in Balingen

On Saturday evening the reserved table was forgotten to reserve, we waited about 20 minutes for drinks, the food took over an hour, it was very tasty but the staff was absolutely overwhelmed. It's a shame actually.

Food is really good. But there is only one brown-haired waitress who can do it and limit the damage, the rest of the service is a disaster. Never seen so many dissatisfied guests. The kitchen also seems completely overwhelmed, you even wait 30 minutes for drinks. Eating takes 1.5 - 2 hours. Can everyone take a look at the menu to see if these dishes are justified.

Pollo bowl and burgers are super delicious!

Very friendly service and delicious food. The price is also absolutely great. What I particularly miss in other restaurants (that don't function as bars) are non-alcoholic aperitifs. There are delicious non-alcoholic cocktails here 👌 When we were there it was full so the service took quite a long time. As you observe, you notice that one employee was probably missing and one was new. If that wasn't the reason, I would recommend that everyone has a "main task". But I'll definitely come back :)

We were a little late, but the chef quickly whipped up some delicious quesadilas for us. The drinks were also very tasty and our service was really great, friendly, nice conversations and we were allowed to eat in peace. Many thanks again to the whole team.

When we got there and placed our takeaway order they said it would take 20 minutes. Everything OK so far. Well, what can I say..... ... After 45 minutes, without any information in advance, the food arrived (4 burgers with fries) Paid and said goodbye with the word “sorry”. When we got home, about a 5 minute drive, we finally started eating So then it continued The food was cold (not even lukewarm but cold) it was simply not good and cold. I've ordered and picked up food here before and everything was good and warm, but this time it was simply underwhelming. There is only one thing left for me to say about this review: Sorry

The two of us were there today at lunchtime. The restaurant is very nicely decorated and is reminiscent (also through the music) of Mexico with a little touch of the Black Forest. The service welcomed us very friendly. We ate a burger each (Schwaben and Schmex burgers and a small portion of fries). The Swabian burger was freshly prepared and very nicely decorated. The pulled pork was tender and juicy, just the way I like it. My highlight was the homemade, spicy sauce, which rounded everything off. The price-performance ratio is completely right here. We can only recommend Schmex with complete satisfaction!

We give it full stars (we ate here with our creative workshop). Very nice staff and a great family feeling. We felt incredibly comfortable and we were very accommodated. Very nice location. Cool music in the background, delicious food. The only small criticism is that it was a bit cold. It's great that some of the dishes can be put together yourself. Non-alcoholic cocktails/long drinks would be great!

We spontaneously went to Schmex on a weekday evening. There were still free tables, but reservations are recommended, otherwise it may happen that all tables are occupied/reserved. The service was very friendly. I was a little irritated that the salsa I chose for the burrito was IN the burrito. I thought you got them separately for dipping. The burrito itself was very tasty. The quesadilla was a bit too much beef and not enough vegetables for us. We once ordered extra guacamole. Unfortunately we didn't like this one. To me it didn't taste seasoned enough and the avocado pieces themselves tasted strange. It was passed on to the kitchen like this. We had the voucher book ("Schlemmerblock") with us and so one dish was free. Without this it would have been too expensive for me. To pay you have to go to the front of the counter. I didn't know until now either. There aren't that many parking spaces. We had to look for something in the surrounding streets.

Come here regularly to eat and are extremely satisfied. Can only recommend the Schmex

Hello, the food was good. What's not possible, however, is that the special menu for Tuesday shows the large burrito for the price of the small one. When ordering, we asked the winemaker whether this applies, which she replied in the affirmative. When we pay, we get a nasty surprise: we have to pay the regular price for a large Borrito because we apparently didn't clearly communicate to the winemaker that we wanted to take advantage of the offer.

What unfortunately cannot be changed is that if you want to sit outside, the outdoor area is directly on a quiet but busy street. Everything else is great! Even the toilets were well maintained. Food was ok, but unfortunately nothing more. Schmexburger unfortunately mass instead of great...hardly any taste and very dry...In addition, the bun was charred and the black bun was simply covered with paprika powder. The bread was fried so badly that it was already crumbling like rusks. The Salsa Roja had absolutely no flavor and was more like tomato pieces with water?? Unfortunately, the Huhngryburger isn't the real thing either. Cheese fries were also baked with normal cheese for far too long...on top there was a lump of cheese that you had to eat with a fork and knife and underneath there were absolutely over-salted frozen fries. Only one single condition on site, which is why it took a long time for the drinks. I also think the prices for the food served here are completely exorbitant. All in all it was below average and I wouldn't come back.

We were there very spontaneously on Saturday evening. The ambience is very nice, with the background music you just get a holiday feeling. The cocktails were very tasty and beautifully presented. The food takes a little longer to get to you, but we prefer to wait longer and know that it is prepared super fresh. The service is very fast, competent, attentive and very friendly. All in all very, very tasty and great restaurant. Keep it up!!!

The restaurant was nice, simply and spartanly furnished, but ok. Personally, it didn't blow me away. The service was very friendly and you were able to get a table even without a reservation. But I found the food was a long time coming. Maybe I'll go again, but I think it's unlikely. The burger I had was too dry and tough.

We spontaneously stopped at Schmex and didn't know that we should make a reservation. We were still lucky and were able to enjoy the great atmosphere. Very nice service. I only had an espresso. Very expensive. At the airport in Stuttgart it costs exactly the same, but you can understand that because the shop rents there are very high. In Balingen it's just a rip-off. There are still four stars because the service staff is super nice and friendly.

I was there when it wasn't busy, so we were served very quickly. The service was very nice and you were asked several times if everything was OK. The ambience was very good. I recommend everyone to go there, especially if you like food with a bit of spiciness.

Went to Schmex for the first time today, while passing through on vacation. The restaurant has a very special, charming style, the service welcomed us very warmly, friendly and nice and assigned us a seat. She advised us when we ordered and brought the drinks straight away. For dinner we had burgers, pulled beef with vegetables and the surprise cheese burger. Both very tasty and medium rare, as ordered. Unfortunately, the fries were a bit thin, so I personally would have preferred thicker homemade ones. The toilets were also very clean, as were everywhere in the restaurant Clear recommendation 👍 take a look

Food nothing special, prices just totally exaggerated. The burito only consisted of rice and meat, hardly any vegetables, although that was ordered with it, cost extra and was shown on the menu for zero euros. Simply unbelievable to charge €19.40 for a burito!! The food is not recommended, it's better to go somewhere else where you get much better food for these prices and drinks are included!!

We've wanted to go here for a long time. There was very little going on here during our stay, so it was very quiet and cozy. The food was very good and "different" than we were used to from previous Mexican kitchens in Germany: According to the chef, they cook according to original recipes and everything is made from scratch except for the rolls - we were very satisfied. We'd love to come back. If the weather is good you can also sit outside. It is also worth mentioning/pleasant that the seating was not crowded.

Had a spontaneous meal at Schmex BL today - we also got a table reservation for two people at short notice. Mega nice reception, first-class and very friendly service (and that despite the general shortage of skilled workers - you feel really comfortable here), great ambience and very tasty fresh food. The relationship between price and performance is still correct here. Schmex's motto - Simply eat well, fits like the lid on the pot. Absolutely recommended and it certainly wasn't the last visit... We're already looking forward to the nice service and the great food. Great team - keep it up...you're great.

Really cool shop, cozy and inviting, super clean kitchen and shop, staff nice and attentive and the food, great... I can't say more except that I would have licked my plate if I hadn't been in public 😜 I'd happily take the longer route again just to go there!!!

We were there with a larger group. We would give price/performance 2 stars. The ambience is ok, it is rather large and a high room. Not quite as comfortable though. Service was okay so far. We've tested it now and I won't be coming back any time soon. But everyone has to take a look for themselves and get an idea of ​​it. Others might think it's quite good... The tacos were really lame in my opinion. I think it's a shame that there were no homemade tacos and the meat really didn't taste full-bodied. It tasted relatively bland and you didn't look for cilantro, instead there was parsley on the taco. The meat tasted artificially seasoned and had an aftertaste and looked like cat food. Corn salsa can be seen in the pictures. The operation and service was good. I personally liked the atmosphere, but not like that. I think it could be set up nicer and the distribution of the tables was random. In summary: It wasn't bad for a quick taco or Mexican fast food similar to Taco Bell, but it wasn't *authentic* or savory. and so the journey continues to find authentic Mexican restaurants in southern Germany.

Since I was here for dinner for the first time today, I wasn't expecting much. However, I have to say that I was immediately disappointed. The taste of the food was good, but not outstanding as we had to wait a total of almost 1 hour 50 for our food to come in individual sections. Well, end of story, I haven't gotten my fries with the burger yet and didn't want them after waiting 45 minutes because they didn't come with the burger (I guessed wrong) and even though there was an offer we had to pay the full prices . No problem, but I won't eat here again and can't recommend it. At least not for those who expect service.

It was our first time eating at Schmexx with several people. We had reserved in advance. The location is very nicely decorated and we had a nice space. The restaurant was normally busy. We survived the long wait between starter and main course with delicious cocktails. (Unfortunately only 4-5 cocktails were possible) The waiting time was also very long here. The food tasted good. All in all I would say: The restaurant tries its best, but unfortunately it is only sufficient and the price (especially for drinks) is not justified. We won't choose this restaurant again

Delicious burgers, nice service. Unfortunately, we find the price of 3.80 for a small glass of syrup Cola much too high. In general, the cola didn't taste good, so I would prefer to use the original. We also think it's a shame that the burgers don't come with any side dishes. I would rather increase the burger prices by 2-4 euros and offer a side dish included. But the burgers were very tasty.

I ordered food to be picked up from Serkan over the phone and was immediately served in an extremely friendly manner and special requests were absolutely no problem. The burgers and fries were packaged fresh before pickup and everything was still hot when I unpacked it at home. The taste and quality of the ingredients were all great! Patty from the Smoked Angus Burger was perfectly medium fried and very juicy. We'd love to come back in the future! Clear recommendation.

Schmex Balingen is simply a place to feel good. Extraordinary, cool ambience that invites you to linger. There is a nice selection of vegetarian dishes, and additional requests are happy to be fulfilled. I've been coming to Schmex regularly since it opened... Serkan and his team never fail to impress me. Both with new creative kitchen inspirations and with warm smiles. Absolutely heartfelt recommendation... even if you've been wanting to go home for a long time and end up at the bar with a gin and tonic.

I went there for the first time with my husband. The food is not worth the money we paid. The table was dirty. I would be ashamed to serve this meal. Of course I won't go there again and can't recommend it.

Ordered Cola and got water with minimal sugar taste and brown color. It would be great if original products had been used here and not syrup. Food was tasty, but not quite hot. Cheese Fries are fries baked with cheese. A cheese sauce would be better, but it's a matter of taste. And the waiting times were quite long, the wrong food was brought or sometimes forgotten. Were there on a weekend evening.

I have never ever tased anything this good (except moms cooking ) but other than that was was the absolute best.🫶🏼🫶🏼

Das Schmex in Balingen ist zu einem meiner Lieblingsrestaurants geworden. Ich suche Essen, das so naturbelassen als möglich ist und frisch und eine hohe Qualität hat. All das finde ich im Schmex. Erst kürzlich ein mega interessantes Gespräch mit dem Inhaber geführt und kann Euch nur empfehlen : Support your Locals!!! Selbst mit meiner Rasselbande plus Hund war ich herzlich willkommen ! Ambiente/Einrichtung ist gelungen. Es ist sauber und macht einen recht neuen Eindruck. Die Bar sieht auch einladend aus. Leider gibt es kein Bier vom Fass. Dann macht so eine Bar eigentlich keinen Sinn. Das Personal (einer in der Küche, vielleicht der Chef?, und eine im Service) etwas dünn besetzt. Aber letztlich musste keiner lange warten um wahrgenommen zu werden. Beide waren freundlich und regelmäßig in der Nähe oder bei uns. Das Essen ist leider etwas hinter den Erwartungen geblieben. Die große Pommes ist auch wirklich groß, aber nur unterer Durchschnitt...halt eher McD like. Mein Angus Beef Burger war leider well done. Damit hat man das Fleisch eigentlich versaut und der Preis ist nicht mehr gerechtfertigt. Das habe ich der Servicekraft aber auch mitgeteilt. Ich habe es Medium und saftig erwartet. Was bei dieser Qualität Fleisch auch Standard ein Muss. Optisch hebt man sich Burgermäßig und von der Einrichtung von anderen gut ab, aber da muss man dann auch auf dem Teller abliefern. So bin ich nur wieder um eine Erfahrung reicher.

Ambiente okay, könnte aber noch mehr mexikanische Einflüsse bieten. Ebenso wären ein guter Tequila, Mezcal und Cocktails wünschenswert. Kein Bier vom Fass. Service nett und aufmerksam, aber in der Umsetzung etwas unbefriedigend da auf Bestelltes nochmals hingewiesen werden musste. Quesadilla, Burrito und Burger gut, aber kalt. Pommes noch kälter. Leider stimmt die Logistik der Küche überhaupt nicht. Die Pommes mit Käse und Jalapenos kamen zum Schluss an den Tisch nachdem der Hauptgang fast verputzt war, aber waren wenigstens warm. Schade! Lokal mit Potenzial was nicht umgesetzt wird!

Nettes Ambiente, Bedienung freundlich, nach dem Essen jedoch nicht mehr aufmerskam und das Zahlen dauerte 30min. Burger war sehr solide, lecker, ausgefallene Pesto Mayo und etwas säuerliches im El Capone - mal was anderes und mir hat es getaugt. Pattie leider well done, daher weniger saftig. Pommes waren 0815 dünn und wenig gewürzt wie bei der bekannten Gelben Möve. Veggie Quesadilla hat uns jetzt nicht so begeistert. Ambiente war ganz schick, die Abtrennung in der Mitte funktioniert von der Lärmreduzierung gut, man müsste jetzt nurnoch die Musik etwas leiser drehen dann kann man sich entspannt unterhalten. Wir haben pro Person ca 21€ ausgegeben.

Auf der Suche nach kulinarischen Köstlichkeiten bin ich auf das Schmex gestoßen. Meine Erwartungen wurden übertroffen. Ich kann definitiv den Sloppy Joe, Huhngry Burger und die Cheese Fritten empfehlen. Die Burger sind einfach mal was anderes und haben auf ganzer Linie überzeugt. Genauso wie die Cheese Fritten. Für diese wird keine Instant Käsesauce verwendet, sondern echter Käse. Das schmeckt man natürlich sehr deutlich. Das Ambiente ist sehr angenehm und der Service überdurchschnittlich gut. Uneingeschränkte Empfehlung 👍🏻

Waren das erste Mal im Schmex. Hatten einen Burger, Quesadillas und Pommes, war alles gut. Schade allerdings, dass man für Ketchup auf den Pommes extra bezahlen muss. Service war leider nicht so gut, die Kellnerin wirkte etwas ahnungslos, wusste nicht, wie sie die Aperitifs zubereiten muss (dauerte lange, kam ohne Eis, etc.), außerdem wurden Gläser ganz oben (trinkbereich) angefasst, Teller auf dem Tisch gestapelt, etc. Hier wäre eine Schulung sicherlich hilfreich, auf was man als Servicekraft achten sollte :-) freundlich war sie aber auf jeden Fall!

Schöne Location zum mexikanisch essen oder für einen Cocktailabend. Veggie bowl mit grillgemüse (leider ausschließlich Bohnen) und Maissalsa (nicht scharf) und Burrito sehr lecker. Bei den Buritto- Soßen ist die Habanero sehr scharf.

Wir waren gestern nur zum was trinken dort Sieht super aus, aber wir haben sehr Gefroren Jetz weiß ich auch warum die decken da sind. Die nette Dame war alleine als Bedienung da. Sie hat alles super gemanagt. Respekt In der Küche hatten sie auch zu wenig Personal Hut ab vor dem Service Wir hatten einen schönen Abend, weil die junge Dame dafür gesorgt hatte, Uns zügig paar liongdrinks zu zaubern Danke dafür Alles Gute für die Zukunft 😇🙏☘️
