A consistently good restaurant with very delicious food.

Good food. A pleasant pub atmosphere. Large portions, very tasty, and fair prices. The only downside is the rather difficult parking situation.

Perfect gyros and homemade tzatziki, just the way it should taste.

Last night we went to Schmalbauch for goose dinner, it was a truly wonderful evening. The food was superb, the atmosphere great, and the service excellent. Thank you so much for the marvelous evening. We'd love to come back again.

I visited here yesterday with my child and grandchildren. We were thrilled. Super friendly service, you feel welcome, and the food was delicious. We had a small appetizer platter and a fillet steak for the main course 😋 Top value for money. If we're ever in Düsseldorf again, we'll gladly stop by again.

Large terrace, partially separated from the street by glass panels, making it quieter. Attractive menu. Gyro with fried potatoes was very tender – the Metaxa sauce is recommended.

The food was delicious and the service very friendly. The ambiance was a mix of restaurant and pub. Unfortunately, it was too chilly to sit on the nice terrace in the corner. The restroom was surprisingly modern and equipped with TVs above the sinks playing music videos. Overall, the interior was much larger than expected. I really liked it 👍! Simple, but that's precisely where the charm lies. It doesn't always have to be fancy to want to come back. Next time, though, I'll be on the terrace with a cold beer. 🥰

Went to Schmalbauch again today. The food was great, the service perfect. Even with three children, you feel at home because everyone is so friendly. We love going there as a family, and the restroom is also very clean and modern. The portions are generous, and there's something on the menu for every taste.

An insider tip in Flingern! A fantastic restaurant with delicious food and tasty beer, and simply unbeatably friendly and helpful staff and owner. We love coming back, especially in the summer when we like to sit outside in the pleasant atmosphere. It's not for nothing that it's always busy.

Seit fast einem Jahrzehnt bin ich regelmäßig Gast dort – ob auf ein schnelles, kühles Füchschen Alt, zum Chillen draußen auf der Terrasse im Sommer, zum Abendessen oder für Familienfeiern. Dort bin ich immer so bedient worden, wie ich es erwarte: Der Chef begrüßt mich herzlich, die Kellner pflaumen mich an, wenn ich nicht auf zack bin und das Essen kommt prompt auf den Tisch, ist reichhaltig, heiß und preiswürdig. Salty coleslaw, average gyros, the salt that was too much in the coleslaw was missing from the souvlaki. Service was relatively unwelcoming at the beginning. Table wasn't clean, beer mats were dirty and the water bottle and glasses were also stained. Overall: food ok, cleanliness urgently needs improvement, service ok

Family restaurant. The family has been running the restaurant serving Greek food for years. Good food and foxes old on tap. The service is always attentive and the prices are ok. There is a nice terrace. Card payment possible. Larger groups will find space. Unfortunately parking is difficult. Clear recommendation.

Coziness, food and drink delicious

This is a wonderful blend of beer garden, pub, and restaurant. Friendly, fast service and delicious food at a good price-performance ratio.

According to the menu, Metaxa sauce can be served with any meat dish. Great, but there's no mention of the 2.50 surcharge. I'm not talking about the 2.50 here; I'm talking about the fact that extras must be listed. Guests have a right to be informed about the cost of each extra. My suggestion of this was brushed off by the young 'boss' with annoyed arrogance, telling me not to make such a fuss about 1.50 (!!! that's right, 2.50)... With such customer-unfriendly behavior, he's undermining his previously friendly, dedicated waiters and the still-good kitchen. Simply sad!

We spent hours looking for a local restaurant (something we like when we are on holiday). This restaurant was 100% perfect. Nice place, good food and very sweet staff, which apparently has been a family business for 35 years. If you are looking for something local, then this is definitely recommended! We were coming from the Capitol Theater and wanted to grab something to eat before heading home. We come from further away and was looking for a restaurant in the area. I found the narrow belly! Tried to call, unfortunately without success. So we went there, no problem thanks to the navigation system in Düsseldorf. When we arrived at Schmalbauch, we were welcomed by a very nice gentleman who tried very hard to organize a table for us. I forgot to mention, it's New Year's Eve, around 6:30 p.m.! We were seated at a free table and were able to eat something. The food was very, very tasty. The service was very nice and friendly despite the crowds. We know it differently in our area... An all-round successful service from ordering to paying! We would come back at any time if we were in Düsseldorf again. Can only be recommended!!!

Friendly welcome, nice service, very tasty gyros and the souvlaki tender and pink. And the portion is more than enough! What more could you want? I just can't get used to the Altbier...😜But even that was one of the better ones. Very happy again!

Super tasty and with a good portion size. The memory card is not too huge, so everything can be cooked fresh. One of our next visits to Düsseldorf will definitely take us there again.

Very misleading name, the only thing you don't get with a narrow belly is a narrow stomach. But you could rename the location to Vollbauch. You should think about it. I didn't like the side salad for my narrow stomach either. Gyros and beer, on the other hand, were very tasty. Extremely good service, it was a pleasure. It is not possible to add tips with a card, which means that in some cases it is not possible to leave a tip for large bills. It's a shame about the service!!!

Our regulars’ bar! Great shop, delicious Füchschen Alt and very good hearty food. Gyro platters and the schnitzels with fries are always super tasty. We've been coming here for years and feel very comfortable. The long-standing permanent staff including the owner family also contribute to this. Highly recommended! We hope for many more years together...

A beautifully decorated old restaurant. Füchschen in the bar, delicious Greek specialties but also good bourgeois cuisine. Or just enjoy a few glasses. Very friendly staff, from the boss to the employees. Definitely recommended, large outdoor area with sun protection.

Well-attended restaurant. The beef liver could have been fried a little more and the yogurt dressing for the salad wasn't to my liking. The fried potatoes, on the other hand, were great. The service was very good and quick, there was never an empty glass on the table. Unfortunately it was also very loud. Of course, that's up to us guests, because everyone has something to tell. I would definitely go to the restaurant recommend further.
