It was okay. The food was good, but nothing special.

The hotel is recommended, but the restaurant is not! Autumn is the season for cabbage rolls; they were a disaster (probably a convenience product). The cabbage fell apart just watching it, the filling was dry and crumbly; it had no flavor at all. The positive thing about the evening was the good and attentive service; but they don't cook, of course :-).

A truly beautiful view of the city from the Schlossberg. A large beer garden in good weather. Lunch is varied and always good. Unfortunately, the potato salad was a bit dry this time, and the side salad arrived before the main course (not as ordered). The service certainly doesn't live up to the hotel's standards, with constant follow-up questions and no one proactively approaching guests.

Highly recommended. Unfortunately, they no longer serve the snack platter or sausage salad for which the restaurant was famous. If they were back on the menu, one could come back for dinner more often. Unfortunately, heavy evening dishes aren't for everyone. Just a suggestion.

Restaurant service was nice, but they couldn't even tell me that the beer was from a local brewery. You should know that when you're so proud of being local. The food was very varied. The onion roast beef was very tasty, and the portion was large. The pork loin steak at the Albduo was overcooked and the pork cheeks were tough., large portion. A true taste experience! We were absolutely thrilled with the new menu! The stuffed Hokkaido pumpkin was a particular highlight – creative, aromatic, and perfectly seasoned. You can taste the quality of the ingredients and the attention to detail in every bite. The other dishes were also consistently fantastic. Great combinations, beautifully presented, and simply delicious. The service was, as always, friendly and attentive, and the ambiance is stylish and cozy – you immediately feel at home. A restaurant that is constantly evolving and always hits the spot. A clear recommendation – we'll definitely be back!

Yesterday, about four of us ate there. First of all, I have to say that the view is very nice. The decor is also great. At first glance, everything was fine. Four adults is usually not a problem, as it wasn't that busy. There were actually enough staff. When we ordered, we placed our meal, four of the daily specials, and drinks. About half an hour later, the food arrived, but there was no sign of the drinks. They were simply forgotten. They were then brought back relatively quickly. Our first impression of the food was so-so. Roast veal, two really thin slices, with rosemary potatoes and bell peppers (peppers with tomato sauce). The meat was lukewarm to cold for me. Some of it was tough and generally not good. Some of the potatoes were still hard on the inside. I ate a few bites and then nothing else. The waitress asked if everything was okay, which I said was not, and I also explained why. All in all, a restaurant that, from the outside, promises fine dining with correspondingly high prices. What we also noticed was that there was no beer listed under drinks on the menu, and therefore it wasn't clear how much a beer cost.

A beautiful little town with many things to do.

A very, very good schnitzel for the first time in a long time! This restaurant is worth a visit!

No! The meat I had with my spaetzle was like chewing gum in my mouth, had no flavor, wasn't seasoned, and was way too expensive! The spaetzle were okay, but they were completely flavorless and wouldn't recommend it! The roasted onion pieces were way too large, not subtle, and not as delicious as regular onions! The brown sauce tasted burnt to me!

The food was bland and took forever to arrive. The tables were so close together that the waiters couldn't get through. The service was unmotivated and not customer-friendly.

Not really with this kind of service. Our order was taken, and then we were simply forgotten. People who arrived much later still had their food long before us. The waiter also had to keep asking at different tables who was getting what. With table numbers, this probably wouldn't have happened. After asking, and after an hour and a half, we finally got our food. However, our second drinks were forgotten again.

Nachdem wir von den guten Resonanzen gehört hatten, versuchten wir es heute noch einmal. Es hat sich einiges zum Positiven geändert. Toller und und netter Service, das Essen war gut und wurde schnell serviert, trotz der vielen Gäste. Leider war es etwas zu kalt. Wir saßen auf der Terrasse und haben die Zeit sehr genossen. Die Karte könnte noch ein wenig erweitert werden. Großes Lob an den Service.

There were “reserved” signs everywhere, but there were only 4 tables occupied. Selection quite limited, prices at a high level. Nothing happens with a view alone.

Es ist schwer eine Bewertung abzugeben, da ich 3 Punkte fast zu viel finde aber 2/5 würde dem ganzen auch nicht gerecht werden. An sich ist das Ambiente des Restaurants schön. Mir gefällt, dass man nicht zu nah aufeinander sitzt, wie es in so manch anderen Lokalitäten üblich geworden ist. Man hat viel Platz und auch die Einrichtung ist geschmackvoll und trotzdem gemütlich. Für die Kinder wurde sofort ein Blatt zum ausmalen mit Stiften gebracht. Eigentlich eine super nette Geste und sowas freut mich immer sehr. Leider hat sich das ganze dann als Stress entpupt, weil die Stifte erstmal nicht gespitzt waren. Somit war ich beschäftigt die Stifte zu spitzen - erstmal kein Problem. Aber dann sind die Stifte auch noch pausenlos abgebrochen. Eventuell hört sich das für den ein oder anderen etwas lächerlich an aber der gut gemeinte Wille war damit nicht optimal erfüllt und auch die anderen Stifte waren leider unbrauchbar. Dieser Umstand würde aber nicht dazu führen, dass ich eine schlechte Bewertung abgebe. Meine Bewertung bezieht sich ausschließlich auf das Essen, das Personal und den Preis. Personal: Alle waren sehr nett aber leider unaufmerksam und vergesslich. Weder wurde ich bei meinem leeren Glas gefragt, ob ich noch was trinken will, noch wurde mir erneut die Karte gebracht, als ich mehrfach danach gefragt habe. Essen: das Essen kam (Schnitzel) unglaublich schnell nach Bestellung. Was ein Zeichen dafür ist, dass es definitv nicht "frisch" gemacht wurde. So hat es dann leider auch geschmeckt. Sehr trocken und ölig. Vor allem kam mein Schnitzel vor den Spätzle der Kinder... Preis: Der ist definitiv nicht gerechtfertigt. Ich gebe gerne 26€ für ein Kalbschnitzel aus aber nicht wenn es in so einem Zustand gegessen werden muss. Auch finde ich Pasta mit Tomatensauce für Kinder für 9€ wirklich überzogen, wenn man sich nichtmal die Mühe gibt es irgendwie nett anzurichten. Ich verstehe, dass es die Gastronomie schwer hat und daher die Preise anheben muss aber dann bitte auch mit einem adäquatem Ergebnis.

We were there for brunch. Unfortunately, absolutely disappointing. Any small, privately prepared brunch is better. Sausage not of any special quality. Fried eggs dried out and unappetizing. We wanted to redeem my birthday voucher and I didn't have high expectations. But even they were disappointed.

Well, after a long time in which I would have only given one star to the food, I was here again. Now why this review? a) Food came quickly even though it was busy. (Great) b) basically the service was OK. c) I ordered a salad that came without the “house dressing”. When I asked, I was given vinegar and oil to make myself. When I asked further, I was given the house dressing, but the chicken breasts were so stringy that I had to cut a large part away. (I've never experienced anything like this before). Positive: As an apology there was a cappuccino “on the house” Too bad. The restaurant at the hotel is actually great, but unfortunately it's "more appearance than reality" 😢

Price performance is not given. Food was cold, meat was dry. Too expensive for what is offered.

We spontaneously went to the castle restaurant on New Year's '25. The renovation was worth it. You can linger in a very pleasant atmosphere on extremely comfortable seating. The food was excellent and the portions were large enough. Which makes me very happy, as I wasn't entirely happy before the renovation. Especially in relation to the size of the portions. The restaurant was full when we left and the service was therefore very busy. Nevertheless, all the service staff were always very friendly and attentive. Maybe we were just lucky, although I don't think so, especially since the guests seemed to be generally satisfied. Unfortunately, grumpy and frustrated people tend to be more likely to bother leaving a review. Anyway, we had a nice evening. And we agree that we will come back.

It is the Restaurant that is on the outskirts of Heidenheim Castle. A cozy, elegant place with a beautiful view. It is large, for all types of celebration. I went because I was looking for somewhere to eat, at a time when most of the restaurants in the area are closed. About 3pm (3pm). As it is a restaurant that receives tourists due to its location, it was open, but had a reduced menu. I ordered a chicken salad that was divine.

Very pleasantly warm and you feel comfortable. Price performance was inadequate today! 2 times roasted onions, 2 times different sizes of meat, despite telling the staff no reaction, no accommodation! It's a shame, for Valentine's Day this year, worlds better, that's why we chose this location. For the future, well, we'll be looking again, who likes to leave the table hungry!

You can imagine a nice Christmas dinner differently :( 90 minutes of waiting time is not acceptable, a "hard-working staff" is not well trained and a kitchen that is completely overwhelmed (dry duck, stringy roast, tough roast, hard boiled potatoes...) is not acceptable Unfortunately, our impression of the really nice atmosphere didn't match the food. Due to our dissatisfaction, the mood at the table suffered a lot - especially at Christmas there really is a lot to do on your part........

We were a group of 12 people. Really nice location, the food from schnitzel to dumplings to duck and salads is unfortunately not really good, the service is also rather inattentive and seems to be struggling with the tasks. PLV doesn't fit. There is an urgent need to invest in staff here.

The staff was very accommodating and friendly, the food was excellent and wonderful, the char was a poem, and the Schlutzkrapfen are also highly recommended. Very nicely coordinated ambience with a wonderful view of the outside. Gladly again at any time...

Kitchen has room for improvement! Service not professional! Menu prices are overpriced for the quality that is served.

Were very disappointed. The beef broth was okay. On the other hand, the pumpkin cream soup was watery. The veal schnitzel was covered in breading soaked in fat and the fried potatoes were also swimming in fat. The liver was tasty but unfortunately only lukewarm. The ox cheeks were tough and you could only eat part of them. The duck breast was also tough and the sauce and pasta tasted like supermarket junk. The price, however, was very considerable! Service but nice. But we definitely won't come back!

Excellent restaurant, modern setting, for tasty dishes that are a bit different from classic German gastronomy

I chose the onion roast from the extensive menu. What can I say: That was the best onion roast with fried onions and spaetzle that I had ever eaten! Absolutely great, we'll definitely go there again.

Review for the castle restaurant in Heidenheim: Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with my visit to the Heidenheim Castle Restaurant. Although the ambience from the outside initially makes a positive impression, neither the service nor the interior ambience could live up to this first impression. A particularly disappointing moment was when I just wanted to order a little something - in my case soup - a few minutes after the official ordering time. However, I was informed that only a slimmed down “Vesper” version would be offered. For a restaurant in this location and with this standard, I would have hoped for more flexibility and accommodating the guests' wishes. Because of this, I ended up not ordering anything and just had a coffee. The service seemed inattentive and made little effort to ensure individual customer satisfaction. Service should be a central element, especially in a restaurant that focuses on fine cuisine and a historical ambience. However, I got the impression here that standardized processes are more important than the well-being of the guest. All in all, the castle restaurant unfortunately did not meet the expectations I had of a restaurant of this category. The lack of commitment to customer satisfaction in particular made my visit disappointing. The coffee was good, so 1 star for the Alfredo :)

We were thrilled once again. The food is freshly prepared and delicious. Feeling good is the order of the day in this atmosphere. The service, of course, friendly and accommodating. We feel very comfortable there every time and will definitely come back. Keep it up!

Great service!!! Absolutely perfect stay, from walking into the restaurant to paying the bill!! Rarely have we seen such a dedicated service person (young gentleman with glasses)!! I can't help but be amazed at what a difference motivated employees make... BRAVO

The visit started with changing places three times. Then the carpaccio, lots of salad on top and bathed in vinegar. The main course was a dry onion roast with spaetzle from the bag. I would have liked the sauce separately.

We order spaetzle with cream sauce, but the sauce is not cream sauce. We order fettuccine with 5 shrimps according to the menu, but it only comes with 3. We ordered apple spritzer without carbonation for children, it only comes with carbonation. The wine is forgotten. Everything is corrected somehow, but all without apology. The spaetzle and sauce don't taste good. The corn vegetable says potatoes, but comes with mashed potatoes. The waiters argue and most of them are very unfriendly, which means the atmosphere is also spoiled. Conclusion: You shouldn't bother, even if you think it's practically next to the castle.

Reduced menu - only the most expensive dishes were available. Total Overpriced starter plate that was very, very clearly arranged, but 30% of the different variants were not available. Main course - onion roast: spaetzle from the bag with a sauce from the package...

Unfortunately, during our visit there was only a small menu due to an event. As far as I know, there was only one dish on the menu for vegetarians. So you didn't have much choice. After the main course I would have liked to have a dessert. Once I was referred to another waitress. After that we weren't paid any attention at all and none of the service staff asked again...it's a shame.

Unfortunately the service was very, very slow. Waiting for 15+ minutes until we found someone to take the order (staff did not even come to the table, we had to reach out), waiting time for food was very long 45+ min, even Drinks did not show up 30min after ordering... Guess it is a lack of staffing during summer season on a Saturday evening. At least food was decent. So, if you want to dine during busy season take your time and do not be hungry or thirsty.

Complete disaster! We reserved a table before going to the opera and thought 2.5 hours would be more than reasonable. The first “turn-off”: We were told that there is only a small part of the already small menu. How can that be on an evening when EVERY table in the restaurant is reserved because of the opera festival? We waited a long time for the starter, a “festival platter”. When it came after 45 minutes, we couldn't believe our eyes. 2 caper apples (wrapped with anchovies - which we later also found on the schnitzel - we had canceled the anchovies), 2 bacon-wrapped dates, a few slimy champions, 4 Miiiini frozen prawns (which were obviously after the dates in the same Pan fried), unsightly mushy tomato/mozzarella in the middle and old gray bread (which felt like it was packaged). Everything COLD (sometime prepared and cooled a long time in advance) Neither the dates nor the shrimp were freshly prepared. Cost 20, - a real outrage. After a total of 1:30 the main courses arrived. "Great" the adults got it first - the kids got their food 5 minutes later. The schnitzels looked a little like “Wiener Schnitzel” and had an unsightly color. There were two lemon letters on one plate that were missing from the other plate. But when I tried it, it was amazing: both the half-raw fried potatoes and the schnitzel were completely over-salted. The restaurant was now well occupied and the service staff were no longer approachable due to stress (nevertheless nice, but completely overwhelmed) - after 30 minutes we were able to complain about the dishes. We were immediately offered a replacement, but by now it was so late because we wanted to go to the performance - and we didn't want to try again in this "restaurant". The restaurant was well attended by older people - I find it really shabby that these guests are expected to have such overpriced food and stressed service. The management of the restaurant should urgently increase the team on such evenings, train them and, above all, ensure that for the really competitive prices (at Käfer I can get a DREAM schnitzel for a few euros more) you can also get high-quality, well-prepared food on the table of paying guests comes. This festival record is just outrageous and I'm annoyed about the 20 euros I spent on it. Since someone from the restaurant always responds to the reviews, I can now say: Save yourself the standard sentence. If you really care about your guests, make sure something changes in your messy house.

Das Ambiente ist schön, das Sercicepersonal sehr freundlich aber das Kalbsschnitzel mit Bratkartoffeln ist nicht zu empfehlen. Das Schnitzel war trocken und zu lange gebacken. Die Bratkartoffeln waren halb verkohlt und versalzen.

The portions are way too small. The waitress couldn't give it out, so we were forced to tip another €5 more. There was only a small selection from the menu that day due to an event. We had to wait a long time for food. Given the high prices, I expect everything to be perfect. And unfortunately that wasn't the case.

We were a group of 10 people. We celebrated 60 years of high school graduation. The rating compares the castle restaurant with high-quality restaurants. I think that lives up to its own standards. We talked intensively. That's why I can't say anything about the causes. However, it was clear: after the first round of drinks we had problems getting another drink. All ten participants temporarily sat at the table without a drink and hoped for the waitress to do everything possible. Didn't even register our longing looks.

All in all: good to very good. Definitely recommended.

1 hour 15 minutes waiting time for 6 people. Then I finished my English onion roast. Others were missing the supplements. If the waitress asks how I would like the onion roast, I can at least expect it to be in English.

Sehrgutes geschmacklich hervorragendes Mittagsmenü. War nach langer Zeit wieder erster Besuch, war echt überrascht kann es nur empfehlen, kommen wieder.

Had dinner there on Sunday! Fish soup was just broth with some vegetable strips and hardly any fish! Food was lukewarm, schnitzel and fried potatoes were soggy with a small piece of dried caper and a mini anchovy! Never again!

Wir waren zum Weihnachtsessen mit der Familie im Restaurant. Die Wartezeit bis zur Bestellaufgabe war ca. 20 min. Die Speisen kamen nach 1,5 Stunden. Ebenfalls wurden Gerichte teilweise kalt serviert bzw. Speisen falsch aufgenommen. Der Service war nicht sehr aufmerksam. Eine gewisse Gastfreundschaft haben wir vermisst. Das Essen war an sich gut und hat geschmeckt.

Sind des Öfteren Gäste. Das Essen war meistens sehr lecker und das Ambiente ist immer richtig schön. Nur der Service ist leider weniger toll, eher genervt und macht einen lustlosen Eindruck, deswegen einen Stern Abzug.

Un freundliches Personal. Waren in der Gruppe im Rahmen einer Fortbildung im Kongress Zentrum da. Die Essenkombinationen hatten die Gestalt von Resteverwertung, eher geschmacksneutrale Würzung. Preise unangemessen. Einrichtung aber ganz nett.. Personal läuft teilweise mit abgewezter Dienstkleidung rum.

Sperrliche Auswahl an Essen, das Essen war schlicht und lieblos, was sich nicht zur Preisleistung vereinbaren liess. Ist nicht weiter zu empfehlen. Service-Personal war freundlich.

Von uns allen und natürlich ganz besonders von meiner Mutter ein riesengroßes Dankeschön für diesen wunderbaren Geburtstagsnachmittag. Danke, dass alle unsere Wünsche berücksichtigt wurden. Danke für den wunderbaren Service- keiner musste lange auf seinen Teller warten. Auch bei den Getränken saßen wir nie auf dem Trockenen. Danke für das Essen - die Rinderkraftbrühe war so lecker, der Hauptgang ein Gedicht - na und das Dessert die Krönung. Aktuell ist solch ein Gastgebersein mit diesem Service selten geworden. Wir wünschen Ihnen und Ihrem Team Kraft und Mut genauso zu bleiben und freuen uns jetzt schon darauf, bald wieder Gast bei Ihnen sein zu dürfen.
