We stayed overnight at the Kavaliershaus: the rooms are tidy, bathrooms are in good condition. There's a spa on site. There's a self-service coffee machine in the lobby – a welcome touch upon arrival 🙏🤩 In keeping with the 4*S rating, the breakfast buffet impressed us – it left little to be desired. The service was perfect 🙏

I attended my sister's wedding at Schloss Eckberg. The location is fantastic, and the food and service were first-class. Thank you for the wonderful celebration.

Over the years, I've traveled to almost every country in the world, or even worked there for work. Schloss Eckberg is truly something special. Always friendly staff, beautiful rooms in the castle with wonderful views, and an excellent restaurant (we ate there almost every evening). The Semper Opera House is a short drive away in our own car. Conclusion: completely satisfied. We'd love to come back.

A very nice hotel. I stayed overnight in the guesthouse, and the view of the mountain was magnificent. I didn't mind having to walk 100 meters to breakfast in the morning.

The restaurant is a dream on the Elbe River. Outstanding cuisine, excellent service—and the castle is even easily accessible by tram. A well-kept little park, numerous terraces, beautiful antique furniture, and luxurious crockery and cutlery. I will definitely be back. Highly recommended.

So I made a booking for this hotel specifically because it was advertised as a castle, but imagine what a surpise i had when I found out we are not staying there, but in another building, which looks like an hospital inside. The room has hard flooring, no carpet and overall looks unwelcoming. Also for this price they have no AC. The surroundings are beautiful and the castle, but I DEFINITELY DO NOT recommend, just come, take some pictures and go somewhere else for that money.

Service was 0 stars. Customer service was also 0 stars. My parents were on their way to the hotel when they received a call that my grandfather (her mother's father) had passed away and had to turn back. When they asked if they could postpone their stay, they were told no. They had to pay the FULL cost of several hundred euros for the stay without ever having been there. No vouchers, etc. This is definitely not customer- and service-oriented.

It's a shame. I would have loved to have dinner, but without a reservation, there was no chance. And that's despite the fact that I would have loved to spend the evening as a guest in such a beautiful place. If the chef is so tight-lipped, he should find another job.

The view of the Elbe River and Dresden is indescribable. The huge garden/park with its sculptures is stunning. The palace is a very impressive building with a beautiful interior and beautifully furnished rooms. The quiet and comfortable beds allowed us to sleep wonderfully. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious, and the restaurant is also highly recommended. We felt completely at home, which was also due to the friendly staff.

The location of the Kavaliershaus at Eckberg Castle is undoubtedly exceptional – the castle and the park are truly worth seeing. Unfortunately, the Kavaliershaus itself can't compete. The furniture is visibly worn and overall appears rather plain. For the price, I would have expected considerably more. In my opinion, the value for money is not justified – you're probably paying primarily for the exclusive location. On the positive side, the breakfast was decent, with some homemade ingredients, as well as the very friendly staff, who were always attentive and made a good impression.

Dear Schloss team, I keep meeting perplexed people struggling up the Mordgrundweg, actually just wanting to get to your location. Since you have a restaurant map hanging down by the Elbe, but you've closed off the entrance, people don't know exactly where to go. Please be kind to your potential guests and make it easier for them to find/access it. On behalf of all those interested.

Both the hotel and the castle itself have a wonderfully nostalgic and romantic feel. The staff was very accommodating and the service impeccable. I can wholeheartedly recommend a stay.

I hope that before the Palace Night on July 19th, the neglect that is unfortunately evident at the moment, as elsewhere, will be remedied. I'm talking about grasses and weeds sprouting to man height throughout the entire park. The same applies to the neighboring Lingner Castle. And don't tell me it's natural. I was shocked today.

A beautiful hotel with a varied history set in a beautiful park overlooking the Elbe River. Unfortunately, the coffee machine in the Kavaliershaus broke down on the second day and was removed without replacement. No sign, no replacement machine—just no more coffee. After checking with reception, there was no explanation, no apology—nothing. Shameful for such a hotel and completely below the standards the hotel itself claims. So please bring your own coffee machine if you enjoy coffee and don't want to experience a disappointment.

This is our second time here and we've always been satisfied. However, our room wasn't tidied/cleaned.

The final stretch of the Elbe Cycle Path brought us here. And it was simply gorgeous. The property is second to none. The staff is courteous. The rooms (Kavalierhaus) are excellent. The bikes are stored, locked. We were allowed to leave our luggage and bikes there for a few more hours, even though we had checked out.

A beautiful hotel above the Elbe River, with a great view from the terrace. Good parking. The room deduction is for the double bed in the Kavaliershaus, which was unfortunately only pushed together and kept sliding apart.

My favorite castle in Dresden. It simply looks magical. Nice view of the city. The garden in front of the castle is very well maintained and there is also a fountain. There is parking almost in front of the door. You can also get there by train, you just have to walk a bit.

It was my first time in Eckberg Castle. We had a great room with a view of the Elbe. The room was very clean. We really enjoyed the breakfast, especially the homemade jam. The staff was very friendly. Absolute recommendation from us.

Very friendly staff, large grounds with their own castle park. For first-time visitors who use Google Maps as a navigation system, it is good to know that Google wants to guide you to the neighboring hotel, but the Hotel Schloss Eckberg has its own entrance. There are also a few events taking place in the castle and its grounds, and during one of my stays they even took place directly in the adjacent building, but I didn't hear anything about it in my room in the Kavaliershaus. The rooms are very well soundproofed, so I could hear people talking louder in the hallway, otherwise you can actually have peace and quiet there. Sauna and fitness room can be used for a fee. The hotel has charging spaces for electric cars, which can also be used for a fee, but these charge very slowly, which I was pointed out at check-in. Since I personally spent most of my evenings in Dresden, I charged my car in the city at one of the charging stations there. The rooms usually have a mini-fridge, but I just didn't have one in my room once. A fully automatic coffee machine is available to guests free of charge in the foyer of the Kavaliershaus. The rooms are comfortably furnished and very clean, the rooms are not cleaned from the first day, which is explained on a display in the room, which I personally think is very good. Public transport is within easy walking distance and the city center can be reached in just a few minutes by car. The staff at check-in was very friendly and accommodating, as you would hope for in a hotel of this class. I have stayed at this hotel several times on business and would consider it again for future trips.

What a magical property, with beautiful castles and good restaurants on site. We had ground floor room which was on the smaller side, but very comfortable and clean with a modern updated bathroom. Couldn’t want for more and at such a great price. Had called saying it was our anniversary and they put us in the room right next to the entrance, they could have been more thoughtful and situated our room a bit better. Even just left a note in the room, those little things bring 5 stars. There is free parking onsite which is a major plus and busses that take you straight to the heart of town in about 10 mins. Would definitely return in the future.

I was happy to be there, even if only for a short time. Simply great, chic atmosphere, great service, prices completely ok, a real tip if you want to enjoy the most beautiful city in the world in a relaxed manner 🖖👏👏👏

Very nice location of the hotel directly on the banks of the Elbe, unfortunately we were accommodated in the cheaper rooms in an adjoining building that no longer looked quite as regal. The price for breakfast was also disproportionately high.

Nice hotel..castle and outbuildings. We slept in the next building. Room quite small but very clean. Beds unfortunately board hard, some people like that. Unfortunately not for me. The breakfast was phenomenal, something that many 5 star hotels can learn from. Homemade jam, rolls from the bakery and no frozen goods. Service very courteous and friendly.

Wonderful location with a fantastic property. The restaurant is stylishly furnished and reflects the charm of a castle. The cuisine is varied and the chef always comes up with pleasant surprises. Special requests are implemented immediately. The service is extremely warm and familiar. Here guests feel unique and particularly comfortable. Beautiful location on the outskirts of Dresden with a view of the Elbe. Every detail here is absolutely correct. The rooms are beautifully decorated; there is coffee from a Jura bean machine in the Kavaliershuis. The restaurant is a culinary attraction of a very high level: the food they serve made me doubt whether my tongue was transmitting the truth to my brain. Breathtaking. The staff is of high German status. Polite, accessible and professionals through and through. If I stay there for two nights, I will be asked in the morning if I would like scrambled eggs. Making that right... is an art and so it happens: Gordon Ramsey would smile and I did that for my entire stay :-). Coming back is a certainty for me.

I/we have been in this house several times for several years. The outbuilding, Kavaliershaus, is still very well maintained and very pleasant. With a view to Gastro Dresden, the restaurant offers very reliable product and preparation quality, with - understandably - a small menu. The Hotel Schloss Eckberg is one of the most beautiful hotels in Dresden. The view of Dresden is breathtaking. The ambience in and around the castle as well. The food is excellent and the staff is extremely friendly. The bridal suite that my wife and I have already stayed in is incredibly beautiful. If you are looking for an exceptional hotel in Dresden, you should definitely choose Eckberg Castle.

We have been enthusiastic guests at Eckberg for years and are always happy to enjoy the excellent service from Ms. Striegler and her team. Today was another very successful evening with excellent food and Saxon rosé. A very big compliment to Ms. Striegler and the entire Eckberg team! World class! Thank you, always happy!

The rooms in the annex are ok for sleeping, but also not. Very small bathroom The service in the restaurant is absolutely great, as is the food. The staff is also very friendly and helpful.

When you're out all day, you don't want to walk through the entire complex to get your key card and then walk all the way back to the actual house. Parking options are very limited. Rooms reflect the charm of the castle. You can hear your neighbors very well 😉! The breakfast buffet was sparse and wasn't refilled during the hour we were there, according to the motto who comes first, eats first.

A week's vacation in Dresden, chose this upscale house because of the view of the Elbe and all-round views over Dresden. The gardens were very well maintained, the house and rooms were always clean. The entire staff is always friendly and helpful. Breakfast as a buffet, everything your heart desires, special requests are accepted, top! Breakfast room is winding, so you can chill out alone. Main courses very upscale, wine in abundance. Everything delicious. Room in the castle, large, bright, very clean. Daily cleaning. Huge beds and very good bathrooms. Rooms very quiet. Please note that this hotel is a castle, so the facilities and construction, windows and so on are designed accordingly. Garden with tables, umbrellas and fountains, great for coffee time or evening trips. Very large park with parking spaces. We got everything we wanted, great vacation, history, city and lots of peace.

It's a really beautiful hotel and I was very satisfied with the meal at the hotel restaurant. I recommend it if you use a rental car while traveling to Dresden.

Eckberg Castle is one of the three Elbe castles and is located on the right slope of the Elbe in Dresden, about 3 kilometers up the Elbe from the city center.

We were there for the Dresden Palace Night, great, can only be recommended 😀😀😀. Unfortunately we had a bad location for the fireworks, but it was still nice 👍👍👍

We had booked a double room with a balcony. Cost for two people and two nights, according to the offer €658. Upon arrival we paid in cash immediately and were surprised to find that an accommodation tax of €32.79 was also added to the bill. That wasn't agreed upon, but it didn't upset us. The restaurant was closed on the first evening due to an event. We were also informed about this in advance. When we wanted to enjoy the wonderful terrace for a nightcap on the second evening, we were given more access. The reason for this was another event that was not communicated in advance. As an alternative, we were offered a place at a bar table away from the event. We then decided to end the evening on the balcony with a drink from the minibar. When we entered our room, we were surprised that neither the beds had been freshly made nor the leftover fruit from the welcome had been removed. When we complained about this, we were told that we had booked the “green rate”. This means that the rooms are not cleaned and the beds are not freshly made. It was still obvious that the beds weren't made fresh and we didn't get new towels, but the fact that leftover food that we didn't order wasn't thrown away seemed very disgusting to us. The final beer from the minibar was the final straw. Instead of a clear, light pilsner, a cloudy, flaky something emerged. We were now very angry and wanted to speak to the owner, who wasn't there, but instead gave his staff the responsibility to process a complaint. These two gentlemen did everything they could to prevent an escalation. Thanks for that. We have been coming to Dresden regularly for ten years and love this city. Since we always stayed in the Villa Weisser Hirsch, we enjoyed excellent hospitality there. This hotel has become a nightmare for us! We have never experienced how GUESTS who pay a very high price are treated. We can't think of anything more like a rip-off.

After 2 years, we went to the castle nights again this year - the 7th or 8th time (overnight stay in the Kavaliershaus). + Place and location fantastic as always. + Staff was again very friendly and accommodating + very good food on the evening menu on Friday in the restaurant and at breakfast Unfortunately a few lowlights: - The quality of the rooms has deteriorated. The drain in the bathroom didn't drain properly. - There has always been soap/shower gel and body lotion, the latter is no longer standard. Not good if you rely on the old standards - the castle is quite remote with no shopping opportunities nearby. We should have forgotten toothpaste. - The biggest criticism at the end: cockroaches. We saw it in the hallway, heard it from our fellow travelers and just as we were emptying our suitcases after arriving home. Luckily noticed in time! It's a shame, we're thinking about another visit. The price isn't "cheap" enough for that.

The Hotel Schloss Eckberg is beautifully situated on the slopes of the Elbe in Dresden. The castle gardens are really picturesque and absolutely worth seeing. We had a room in the Kavaliershaus. It has to be said that we with our Baby and a small dog were traveling. The double room we had was very dark, loud and very shabby. For the price of €170 per night without breakfast, I don't think that's reasonable. Then it's better to choose a hotel that doesn't offer such prices just because of its name. Because otherwise it is not justified. What I would like to point out - babies who don't consume shouldn't cost anything extra. Because the hotel had no trouble with our baby because he slept in our bed.

The service was super nice and the castle was super nice, the room in the annex was nothing special, but still good. Cobwebs under the furniture were not discovered and removed. But the bathroom was thoroughly cleaned.

Fantastic hotel in a fantastic location. Unfortunately we didn't have the opportunity to eat in the restaurant.

Positive: Great location with a large park right next to other castles. Good parking options. Staff at reception and at breakfast were very friendly. Negative: We were not accommodated in the castle but in the outbuilding (cavalry house). We overlooked the fact that the rooms there were “only” 3*S instead of the 4*S from the main building. We could have noticed it ourselves based on the much cheaper prices. But that alone isn't a bad thing, especially since we were informed upon arrival that we had simply been upgraded to a higher room category. But what we missed were banal things like a kettle for tea or coffee. There was also no curtain in front of the window, so the room couldn't be darkened (light at 6 in the morning, in the evening when the lights were on you could watch us undress from outside). Due to the maisonette layout in our room, it was extremely stuffy and warm upstairs in the sleeping area. There was only a very small skylight that could be tilted. At EUR 28 per person per night, breakfast was very expensive compared to the usual (standard) selection for the category. For this I would have at least expected things like Prosecco or sparkling wine on Sundays. So we only tried it once and then went out for breakfast.

We stayed in this beautiful atmosphere for 2 nights. The rooms were in the Kavaliershaus. We knew that and were very happy! Room on the 1st floor with a view. Spacious, well equipped. Nice big bathroom, went for two people. Very quiet despite the street. The room service was very good. Parking in front of the door. In the middle of a beautiful park. For breakfast you walk into the castle, we really liked it, that's how you move. Thanks to the waiters and the ambience, the food there is highly recommended. PS… don’t look too closely at the bill.. better for your blood pressure. You don't do something like that every week...

Beautiful house, perfect balanced breakfast and super friendly

We really enjoyed our time in this masterful castle. Everything - from the flambéed crepes to the sauna facility - was successful and professionally executed. Unusual! The toilets were particularly clean and the carpet was pleasantly quiet underfoot. In addition, the steps have an excellent spacing and a comfortable height. Also very unusual - beautiful! We will definitely visit this wonderful castle again. One star is deducted for amazing surprise effects when windows open in the restaurant area and requests for a second helping at dinner - although we were expressly told that we were allowed to do as we please. The unair-conditioned fitness room with no window opening options was also slightly unpleasant - this condition causes you to sweat off various animals. A slightly unpleasant smell wafted towards us when we opened the coffee machine and coffee utensil cupboard. Nevertheless, we would like to thank the Eckberg team for this fabulous and excellent overnight accommodation.

Historic building and a fantastic location above Dresden. Unfortunately we didn't have any rooms in the castle, but only in the annex, which is where the charm is lost.

Perfect service, beautiful view of the Elbe, good wine, good cuisine. Only the scrambled eggs for breakfast looked like eggs from a tetrapak.

Neo-Gothic castle **** Hotel from the 19th century with a Tudor-style landscape park and impressive views of the Elbe valley. We stayed in the Kavaliershaus ***Hotel, a new building. Room 109 is well equipped with a large TV and a view of the countryside. Room is small, bathroom is narrow. Breakfast buffet was good, service very good. Visiting the restaurant was also an experience.

Das Hotel Schloss Eckberg ist ein wundervolles kleines Schloss mit traumhafter Lage oberhalb der Elbe. 👍😃 Der Service war sehr freundlich! Das Essen war hervorragend! 👍 Außerdem war das Hotel sehr aufmerksam und macht dem Gast auch eine kleine Freude anlässlich des Geburtstages. 👍☺️ Man kann es absolut empfehlen - auch für Paare, die mal einen besonders romantischen Ausflug machen möchten! 😃

Die Zimmer sind groß und sauber. Der Preis für eine Übernachtung eher günstig. Die Unterkunft ist in einen sehr schönen und gepflegten Parkbereich. Ebenso auch die Bar im Schloss und das Restaurant. Es ist sehr ruhig und idyllisch. Sehr entspannend nach einem anstrengenden Arbeitstag. Meine Empfehlung.

Hotel en staf zijn klasse van weleer. Fietsen naar dresden langs de elbe in 20 minuten. Wandelen in het park rond het kasteel. Prachtige uitzichten en rust. Rijden er graag nog eens heen vanuit Nederland.

Bei den günstigeren Zimmer kommt in Gästehäusern intern und kann später im Schloss frühstücken. Es war alles toll! Ich komme gerne wieder.

War ein schönes Erlebnis, großer Lobby im Kavalierhaus. Die Gegend ist sehr schön mit Blumen beschmückt, und das Personal war freundlich

Vorweg möchte ich sagen, dass der Service sehr gut ist und das Zimmer auf den ersten Blick ok ist. Allerdings hat dieses Hotel (bzw. im Kavaliershaus) offensichtlich ein Spinnenproblem. Vor meiner Zimmertüre waren bereits 5 Spinnen an den Wänden und Decken sichtbar. Auch im Zimmer waren weitere. Ich habe nicht das allergrößte Problem mit Spinnen, wenn einen jedoch beim Aufwachen eine große Spinne (siehe erstes Foto) den Start in den Tag bereits versaut, so war dies wohl kein guter Morgen. Beim Check-out habe ich dies dem Personal an der Rezeption gemeldet. Dieses war jedoch sehr entspannt und antwortete „Ja, wir sind ja auch in der Natur“. Diese Antwort war für mich nicht zufriedenstellend, soll ich demnach auch mit anderen Bedingungen von außen zufrieden geben? Sorry, aber hier besteht noch Bedarf zur Verbesserung .

Es ist sicherlich keine Übertreibung, wenn man sagt, dass es hier der schönste Ausblick ist, den man bei Eierschecke und Kaffee genießen kann.

Sehr gutes Restaurant mit extravaganter Auswahl, aber auch für Leute, die es traditioneller mögen ist etwas dabei. Die Kellner waren sehr zuvorkommend und das Ambiente sehr herrschaftlich. Ein Parkplatz finden ist auch vollkommen unproblematisch. Alles in allem sehr empfehlenswert und man bekommt wirklich etwas für sein Geld geboten.

Die Lage ist fantastisch, sehr nette Rezeption und das Zimmer war sehr komfortabel

Ganz als Erstes, es lohnt sich wirklich mal im Schloss Eckberg zu nächtigen. Allein nur wegen dem Frühstück, dessen Angebot sehr gut war. Den Blick beim Frühstück über Dresden, von der Terrasse aus, kann man nur in wenigen Hotels genießen. Und auch wer nicht draußen sitzen möchte, frühstückt in den hohen Räumen im Ambiente eines Schlosses. Es war wirklich sehr beeindruckend. Unser kleines Zimmer lag im Kavaliershaus und wir waren damit sehr zufrieden. Bis auf die Stufe die ins Bad führt. Wer macht denn nur sowas...
