Highly recommended! Quaint and cozy, just like a pub should be. The staff were incredibly welcoming and even found us a spot at the bar despite the place being packed. A fantastic team in the kitchen and behind the bar. They even entertained our son and answered all his questions with a smile. In short: we had a delicious meal and felt completely at ease. Thank you so much for the warm hospitality and the wonderful evening; we'll definitely be back to try everything on the menu.

Great food, great people, great atmosphere. And most importantly: affordable! You can sometimes choose small or large portions. The large portions are filling, and I was really hungry ;) Great - I'd love to come back.

A beautiful place to come down and party, food is great

A classic in Striesen and an original, unique in Dresden, it's always a good place to eat, but it's especially fun to sit outside in the summer, drink your beer and eat your Corsican omelet. Arriving early ensures outdoor seating, otherwise it's difficult.

Ideal for a drink or a beer for a casual get-together. The food was very good! The service was perfect. I'd be happy to come back.

A beautiful self-service garden restaurant with a fantastic atmosphere and truly delicious food ❤️! Sometimes you have to expect a longer wait due to the crowds, but the atmosphere makes up for it! If you want a table, however, you should arrive veeeeery early, otherwise almost everything is gone ;)

We love coming here in the summer—a really nice beer garden in Striesen! Unfortunately, cash only! The waitress Sofie was super sweet and did a great job 🫶

Unfortunately, I discovered that the beer prices are extremely overpriced. For a so-called house beer, you pay €5.10 for 0.5 liters. Nobody knows what kind of beer it is. It's definitely a 50-liter keg, where the total price of the keg is less than €50. The service at the bar, when the manager isn't present, isn't exactly polite either. The staff doesn't seem to know how to say "please" or "thank you." The food is good, as usual. A bottle of wine for over €22 isn't appropriate for a garden section. You get the impression that they're trying to become a "millionaire" overnight.

Always happy to come back. The best garden restaurant I know.

A small oasis in the middle of the city. The staff was very friendly and attentive, the food was delicious, and the outdoor area where we sat was inviting and relaxing. Please note that they only accept cash payments, but the excellent service makes it all the less of a problem, so we won't lose a star. We'll be back.

I've been going to El Horst for many years. The ambiance is truly wonderful, the food tastes very good, and is reasonably priced. It's wonderful to have this restaurant in the area! The processes in the very small, very warm kitchen are admirable. The chefs do a great job! The staff are friendly and fast. Unfortunately, there is one female exception at the counter who never seems to be in a good mood. What a shame! I know how stressful it is to work with customers/guests. Despite everything, she could perhaps force herself to smile every now and then. All in all - a great restaurant!

Popular summer pub in the neighborhood, very crowded, staff at the limit

Unfriendly to the max... waited almost an hour for an overpriced spicy meat dish that was inedible. But nobody cared. Service is getting worse and worse, and the people at the counter think they're gods... On top of that, you have to wait in line for half an hour to get a drink. Card payments are still not accepted.

We were at El Horst yesterday. All the unoccupied tables in the garden and inside were reserved and remained empty the entire evening. When we asked, we received the same answer as regulars: OK, not again.

ATTENTION! CASH PAYMENTS ONLY! A beautiful beer garden surrounded by greenery with fun activities for children. It's a great place to live! The kids have space to play on the lawn, there's a small sandpit with chalkboards, and a small climbing area. The food is always good and the drinks cold. Prices are fair, and the staff always smile. When queuing, please note the sign that only two people are allowed inside. It heats up extremely quickly in there and is no fun for the people behind the bar. We always enjoy coming back! Keep up the good work!

Such a beautiful beer garden! The layout, with a grassy area in the middle, creates a great atmosphere. All the dishes I and my companions tried were truly delicious and made with fresh ingredients. Thanks also to the attentive, courteous service!

Great garden restaurant and bar and a very popular hangout. Food options are limited but very tasty and beer is quite cheap, especially the local brew. If you are a bigger crowd you need to make a reservation beforehand.

Der Biergarten mitten in den Schrebergärten bietet eine gemütliche und entspannte Atmosphäre. Auf der Speisekarte ist für jeden etwas leckeres dabei. Das Essen ist hausgemacht und schmeckt sehr gut. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Ich kann es nur weiterempfehlen.

Simply a fantastic location. It's great that it works so well. The cellar beer is a dream. The food was super tasty.

At El Horst you increasingly get the impression that the queens are behind the counter. When you enter the restaurant as a guest, you are directed to the end of the line in an impossible way without even asking why you are standing at the counter. The sound makes the music. Maybe the lady with the black horn-rimmed glasses behind the counter would be better off in an industry other than gastronomy. It's a shame, because the ambience and the food are good. Luckily there's a good Italian restaurant around the corner. :-)

Idyllic beer garden with good food and drinkable beer. But the fact that you won't be able to pay by card/mobile phone in 2024 is just antediluvian and made my visit miserable. This has nothing to do with service.

Very nice beer garden with enough seats, although when the weather is nice these are well occupied after work. Nice informal atmosphere in a cozy garden area. Good selection of food and drinks, very lovingly prepared. You can also sit inside as it is open all year round. I would definitely recommend it.

Very nice atmosphere, pleasant distribution of seats, not too close to each other. Drinks are reasonably priced, and you can choose between small and large portions when eating. In terms of price, it matches Striesen. Unfortunately, the cabbage noodles didn't convince me; they were boiled rather than fried. Otherwise very nice here.

Urgemütliches Lokal. Allerdings sollte der Inhaber sein Personal schulen. Die Dame am Tresen war sehr überfordert als wir 22:55 Uhr noch eine Getränkerunde bestellten. Sie sagte es ist Feierabend, wir können ein Wegbier bekommen und sollen sofort das Lokal verlassen. Mit unserem Wegbier gingen wir zum Tisch, da noch nicht alle die Gläser ausgetrunken hatten. Kam die Kellnerin wie eine Furie zu uns und schrie uns an wir sollen sofort gehen. Es waren nur friedliche Menschen im Biergarten, keiner pöbelte. Wir auch nicht. Wir hatten eine Familienfeier und gingen schließlich. Die Dame ist da leider völlig fehl am Platz. Wir werden nie wieder kommen und dieses Erlebnis fleißig weitererzählen. Schade!

Located in a small garden area, you have a small oasis in the countryside. You can get great food there for a reasonable price. Self-service in the beer garden is well regulated. It's a shame that you can't pay with EC. But that doesn't make it any worse. Thumbs up for this oasis.

Nette Schrebergartenatmosphäre. Gut besuchtes Lokal. Im Garten „herrscht“ Selbstbedienung. Bzw. Getränke bestellt man am Tresen und nimmt diese gleich mit. Speisen werden bestellt und dann gebracht. Ich hatte „was kleines“ zum Essen bestellt. 3 Scheiben Knoblauchbrot - nett.. aber mit 9€ für mein! Empfinden deutlich überzogen im Preis.

My bad rating is solely due to the fact that you can't pay by card here. There is no good reason why this is not offered. With startups like Sumup, the “high costs” argument can no longer hold water. Other innkeepers report how much easier this makes accounting. Since drinks aren't "bonged" here either... I think of my part as to the main reason for paying exclusively in cash. Furthermore, you cannot reserve a table here (according to telephone information) if you are a group of fewer than 10 people. Of course, this makes the availability of a place a gamble. If you're traveling from outside Dresden, I don't think that's okay. The food was very tasty, hence at least 3 stars.

Where the good reviews on the subject of service come from is completely incomprehensible to me. Yesterday I wanted to spend a nice evening there with friends. There were a few people sitting on the patio and inside it was maybe half full. Two women were busy at the counter and were already annoyed when I greeted them. The crowning achievement, however, was when I wanted to sit at a free table that had not been reserved. One of the women came running up and complained in the nastiest way I could think of about wanting to sit there. The table was for the people from the terrace...as written...it wasn't marked as reserved. And above all, you can articulate something like that in a friendly way. I had a similar experience there last year. Another service person, just as unfriendly. We then immediately went to another location and had a nice evening with nice service. El Horst won't see me as a guest again any time soon. It's actually a shame because the place is super quaint and the food is really delicious. But not with the service staff...

Great ambience, delicious food and, above all, good prices. We had liver with mashed potatoes and penne with mushrooms and chicken. We will be back.

Food was really tasty, we sat at a large table with a large candlestick. Seemed a bit much, otherwise it was really great. The El Horst beer is easy to drink and is rather mild.

Unfortunately, going out to eat spontaneously is no longer possible. Not even for 2 people. Nothing works without a reservation. This should also be stated on the website so that you don't make the journey in vain. It's a shame and basically very annoying for a place like this.

It's very nice and cozy with you - thank you! I think it's particularly good that there are a lot of vegetarian dishes and both soups are vegan, which is also noted on the menu. This is not a given for a 'quaint restaurant' of your kind - but very important and exemplary (: (Maybe one day you'll even think about adding a vegan main course to your menu....💚)

Despite the heavy workload and possible staff shortages, the waitresses were always very nice and quick with bringing the orders. For all dishes you can choose whether you want to eat a small or large portion. The dishes themselves are beautifully prepared and very tasty. The pictures show liver with mashed potatoes and the salad variation with chicken. Price-performance is also good.

On my last visit to El Horst in Dresden I was absolutely thrilled! The food was exceptionally tasty, with fresh ingredients and a great balance of taste. What also impressed me was the friendliness of the staff. They were attentive, polite and genuinely concerned about the guests' well-being. The ambience at El Horst is simply rustic and inviting. It offers a cozy atmosphere that is perfect for enjoying the delicious food. All in all, a completely successful experience. I can highly recommend El Horst and will definitely be back soon!

Der El Horst ist schön aber die die zwei Tresen Damen sind sehr kunden abweisend und unhöflich !!!

Wir machen ein regelmäßiges Treffen von ehemaligen Arbeitskollegen und gehen dafür meist ins El Horst. Es ist immer wieder ein schönes rustikales Ambiente mit klasse Essen. Man muss nur daran denken Bargeld mitzunehmen 😉

Leider dauerhaft keine Kartenzahlung möglich weil die Leitung zu lahm ist. Tischreservierung ist ebenfalls nicht möglich. Sonst wäre es perfekt. Das Essen, die Freundlichkeit des Servicepersonals und vorallem die Zubereitungszeit empfanden wir als hervorragend 👌 Es gibt jedes Gericht als kleine und große Portion. Klasse. Wir kommen gern wieder.

Geht hin!!! !Es gibt nichts liebenswerteres. Wunderbare Menschen servieren ein gutes / eignes Bier und eine ganz wunderbare Küche. Einzigartig ist die Location sowieso.

Klasse Essen, freundliche Bedienung

Wir haben, mal wieder, meinen Geburtstag hier gefeiert. Telefonisch super zu erreichen, Tisch im hinteren Bereich bekommen. Das Essen war wie immer super, die Bedienung freundlich und die Preise angemessen (etwas teurer geworden, aber immer noch im Rahmen). Radler vom Fass… lecker Uriges Ambiente Wir kommen gern hier her!

Schöner ruhiger Ort zum drinnen und draußen essen. Mahlzeiten mega lecker. Spielplatz für Kinder vorhanden. Da eine Reservierung erst ab 10 Personen möglich ist, sollte man so zeitig wie möglich kommen, um einen Platz zu kriegen. Bargeld nicht vergessen!!

Ein super Biergarten eingebettet in einer Gartenkolonie was ein herrlichen Flair vermittelt gerade in der Sommerzeit. Man muss sich allerdings im klaren sein, das so gut wie keine Reservierungen entgegen genommen werden und man einfach auf gut Glück hingeht. Dafür wird man mit sehr leckeren Essen entlohnt und auch das Hausbier ist zu empfehlen. Bestellt wird an der Theke im Haus, wo auch gleich die Getränke mitgenommen werden. Essen wird dann aber an den Tisch gebracht. Der Service war bisher immer sehr freundlich und Preis Leistung ist super.
