We spontaneously stopped by for dinner on a Sunday evening while passing through and easily found space for the two of us. The service was very friendly, quick, and attentive. We ordered a farmer's breakfast and a traditional schnitzel, which were served after a short wait. Both dishes were very plentiful, delicious, and appetizingly presented. Everything tasted great, and the prices were very reasonable. Overall, we highly recommend this inn. The only drawback, however, was that you could only pay in cash. A card payment would have been very appropriate, as the nearest ATM is in Kesselsdorf, 10 minutes away. Therefore, we deduct one point for service.

A truly fantastic restaurant with home-style cooking taken to a whole new level! The portions are huge, freshly prepared, and absolutely fairly priced. I was particularly impressed by the creative and inspiring salad creations – something completely different and very cleverly executed. The hot dishes are also classic, but with a special touch that you don't find everywhere. The service was super friendly, warm, and attentive, which made the visit even more enjoyable. A clear recommendation – you're guaranteed to leave full and happy!

A perfect stop for a meal on the road and an authentic experience of regional German cuisine. Payment is cash-only, but there is an ATM in the neighboring town if needed. Highly recommended!

We ended up here by chance while looking for a good meal away from the highway and were pleasantly surprised. Very good cuisine and very pleasant and attentive service. Price performance ratio excellent. The homemade brawn was perfect - as were the other dishes - someone in the kitchen knows their craft. We were happy to add the usual 10% tip to the bill and round it up to the nearest full. The team deserves it 👍🏻

The meal we ordered, schnitzel and pork knuckle, was excellent and completely sufficient, even for a large appetite/hunger. Even our 2 children's small schnitzel served on a skewer looked/was very tasty. And both children had eaten all of it! The service was very friendly and quick. An all-round very nice visit to the restaurant combined with a recommendation to interested restaurant visitors.

Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed. After ordering, the food was on the table within 15 minutes. It was nicely presented, warm, and tasted delicious. The waiter asked multiple times if the food was to our liking and if we wanted more drinks. Overall, a solid 5 stars.

Rustic restaurant with a small beer garden. Surprisingly good food prepared with a lot of love at very reasonable prices. Definitely worth a visit or a stopover on a bike tour. Very nice service, we even got the private soy milk for a latte. Thank you,☺️

Das Personal war super nett, die Speisenauswahl von Klassisch bis Originell war alles dabei und das Essen war unglaublich lecker und liebevoll angerichtet. Alles in Allem waren wir absolut begeistert und werden definitiv wiederkommen!

Easter Monday for lunch in the Schützenhaus. You would think that the waitress would be overwhelmed, but not at all. A very friendly young lady served us. The drinks came very quickly. The food for the younger children didn't take long either. Our food was very plentiful and tasty. Schnitzel with vegetable salad and cheese gratinated. Something different, but tasted excellent. I can highly recommend this inn. Thank you for the hospitality!

Great service, we got 2 places for dinner even without a reservation... The food was very tasty and tender, the schnitzel and steak au four were very tasty with steakhouse fries... We'd be happy to come back.

1 star because 0 stars is unfortunately not possible. The space at the tables is very limited and offers no opportunity for convenience. The food took over 1 1/2 hours to arrive and the food was served all over the place... The service was very angry and hesitant, which you immediately noticed as a guest. Unfortunately, very few of the staff acted professionally Nevertheless, the food tasted very good.

Unfortunately not recommended… the wait times are incredible. Serve the food after more than 1 1/2 hours. In addition, the tables are uncomfortably close together. You don't want to cuddle with strangers... Unfortunately it wasn't a nice Christmas dinner because there was general unprofessionalism on the part of the waitresses. After more than 45 minutes, someone was at the table. In general, everything seemed very stressful towards the guests, including the bill. The fact that it does happen sometimes if you want to pay separately shouldn't be a problem instead you get annoyed looks - all in all very hectic for which the guest definitely can't do anything but gets everything. By the way, the spaghetti isn't recommended either... there were more pieces of garlic in it than noodles. :’)

Leckeres Essen und schnelle Bedienung und das trotz vollem Haus und nur einer Bedienung.

Wir waren heute mal wieder im Gasthof Steinbach eine meiner Lieblingsgaststätten. Das Essen,Gänsekeule mit Klößen und Rotkraut war ein sehr lecker sowie das Hüttenschnitzel für meinen Mann. Ein Lob an die Küche. Der Service ist sehr freundlich auch wenn es manchmal stressig wird bleibt immer ein Lächeln im Gesicht. Unser Ausflug hat sich wiedermal gelohnt und wir kommen bald wieder. Macht weiter so.

Gastraum war nicht sonderlich warm, das macht es nicht besonders gemütlich Waren als größere Gruppe gemeldet, krankheitsbedingt mussten mehrere Gäste kurzfristig absagen - mussten eine Differenzbetrag in Form von Raummiete bezahlen obwohl dann kurzfristig der Raum noch mit Laufkundschaft belegt wurde schon ne kleine Unverschämtheit hätte ich das eher gewusst das wir ne Raummiete zahlen mussten hätten wir auch den ganzen Raum gern für uns gehabt. PS das Essen war ebenso wie der gastraum nicht sonderlich warm. Bin eig aus diesem Hause andere Qualität gewohnt aber heute wohl doch eines besseren belehrt wurden - Schade

Einfach nur Mega, ich hätte den Teller auch noch ablecken können (Steak’au’Four)! Essen, Ambiente und Service für mich 5 ⭐️ wert! Punkt um, es hat einfach alles gepasst! Danke, Gasthof Steinbach!

Hier bekommt man immer schmackhafte große Portionen zum sehr fairen Preis. Das Personal ist super nett. Jeder Raum ist mit historischen Werkzeugen und Utensilien dekoriert, sehr urig. Ausländischen Gästen wünscht man in der Landessprache "Guten Appetit". (okay... jedenfalls den ungarischen..... ;) ) Wir kommen immer wieder gern hierher.

Tolles Essen, nettes Personal, gemütliche Atmosphäre.

Haben uns nach langen Suchen entschlossen unsere Geburtstagsfeier im Schützenhaus durchzuführen. Es war ganz nach unseren Vorstellungen. Der Raum war gemütlich und ansprechend vorbereitet. Hattet sogar das große Glück den Aussenbereich nur für uns zu nutzen. Das Essen war super auf dem Teller angerichtet. Das Auge hat schon mitgegessen und vom Geschmack ganz zu schweigen, einfach spitzenmässig. Der Bedienung und der Küche gebührt ein großes Lob. Können diese Gaststätte mit guten Gewissen weiterempfehlen. Vielen Dank für diese gelungene Feier, es war einfach super. Sabine und Frank Weinhold

Netter Service Liebevoll angerichtet Teller Geschmack des Essens hat bei mir voll gepunktet

Bei vielen Gerichten werden gleiche Soßen serviert. Das Bier was angeblich aus einem neuen Fass kommen sollte hatte kaum bis keine Kohlensäure. Auch das Personal lässt einen lange warten.

Das schlimmste Essen was ich in den letzten Jahren gegessen habe. Sorry ich muss das leider so sagen. Der Gasthof hatte laut den Internetnutzern eine super Bewertungen, im Durchschnitt gab jeder so 4,6 Sterne. Klingt ja eigentlich super,😏 aber falsch gedacht🫣. Keine Ahnung ob der Koch oder die Köchin einen schlechten Tag hatten, kann ja jeden mal basieren.😮‍💨

Absolute Empfehlung!! Preis/ Leistung stimmt. Die Dame im Service ist sehr freundlich und wirkt ruhig und routiniert, obwohl sie allein war. Aus der Küche kamen wahre Gaumenfreuden. Wir kommen definitiv wieder. Für jene, die sich auch noch überzeugen möchten...eine Reservierung ist empfehlenswert und Bargerld nicht vergessen. Kartenzahlung ist nicht möglich (Stand 02.04.23)

Wir waren nach unserer Wanderung im Gasthof und möchten uns ganz herzlich bei unserer netten Bedienung Susi und dem Küchenteam bedanken. Trotz voller Tische hat Susi alles im Griff. 7 Personen und 6 große Hunde... wo kommt man da bei diesem Wetter unter?? Genau hier. Ein toll hergerichteter Tisch mit Hundeleckerlis, gefüllte Wassernäpfe in einem separaten Bereich. Das Essen war sehr reichhaltig und lecker, der Service einfach klasse! Ganz lieben Dank dafür. Wir kommen gerne wieder und wünschen Ihnen und Ihrem Team alles Gute!

Wir haben hundegeburtstag gefeiert und schon beim Anruf für die Reservierung wurden wir herzlichst willkommen geheißen mit 6 Hunden und 7 Personen. Uns wurde ein extra Raum fertig gemacht, es standen Wassernäpfe bereit und leckerlies für die Hunde standen bereit auf dem Tisch. Wir waren zu Tränen gerührt. Das Essen war wirklich die Wucht und wer da nicht satt wird macht was falsch, die Bedienung war mega freundlich und unsere Hunde wurden liebevoll begrüßt und beachtet. Das Ambiente war urig schön und gemütlich und wirklich großes Lob an alle vom koch bis zur Bedienung, Top Team. Wir werden dort mit Sicherheit wieder einkehren. Selten so toll betreut worden. Vielen vielen lieben Dank für den schönen Nachmittag bei ihnen.

Mega toll 👌 Wir haben unseren Hunde Geburtstag mit 6 Bearded Collies im "Schützenhaus" gefeiert und nur 2 Tage vorher Bescheid gesagt. Wir bekamen einen extra Raum, es standen nicht nur Wasserschüsseln bereit, sondern auch Hundeleckerlies auf dem Tisch. Das Personal war unendlich geduldig mit unseren Wusels, das Essen war phänomenal zu einen Superpreis, wir hatten eine selbstgebackene Hunde- und eine Menschentorte dabei, die wir eigentlich auf der Wiese essen wollten, und durften die Torten im Gasthof essen, bekamen auch noch Teller dafür, selbst die Hunde. Ich schicke hiermit ein großes Dankeschön an euch und ich muss sagen, ich bin sprachlos. So etwas Schönes habe ich noch nie erlebt. Wir werden euch mit Sicherheit weiter empfehlen und auch wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Ja, das Ambiente ist Geschmackssache, aber uns hat es sehr gefallen. Der Service war sehr gut und freundlich. Und die eher klassischen Gerichte waren schön neu interpretiert, sehr frisch und sehr lecker.

Vor ein paar Monaten war der vegetarische Burger noch richtig gut, doch beim letzten Besuch war er ungenießbar. Der Salat war nicht mehr frisch, der Käse hatte eine seltsame Konsistenz und es war viel zu viel Soße drauf. Auch das Patty ist gewöhnungsbedürftig.

Sonntag 18.15 angerufen und nachgefragt ob für zwei Personen noch was frei ist, leider wurde uns gesagt das gleich geschlossen wird, obwohl die Öffnungszeiten bis 21 Uhr im Netz stehen. Schade so können wir nicht die evtl. cullinarischen Genüsse dieser Gaststätte für uns in Anspruch nehmen.
