Lunch was delicious in a beautiful setting and with great service. What more can you ask for!

The restaurant conjured up a magical meal yesterday at the Baden Business Ball. Since I have food intolerances, I was extremely grateful that the kitchen accommodated my special requests so brilliantly. Thank you so much!

On vacation in Gaggenau at the end of August, we found the place on the internet, my partner and I decided to go for a walk out of curiosity, because the photos on the internet made us want to. And not disappointed at all, on the contrary. A more than charming place with a splendid view of the village below. We were not able to eat on the terrace, because of the bad weather and rain, but we had a table in the restaurant near the window, we were still able to enjoy the view. Beautiful architecture, beautiful place full of charm and everything we love: the vineyards, the castles, the beautiful views, a beautiful restaurant. As for the restaurant, we were not disappointed by the meal; tasty, full of flavor and for a price that was worth it. Charming, correct and polite staff. We will come back for sure. A very nice discovery.

The setting, location, and view are simply beautiful. That's exactly why we got married there. Now, after a visit exactly 10 years later on our wedding day, we were disappointed. The staff and waitresses weren't very friendly, talkative, or competent, which was a shame. And the barbecue evening wasn't worth it; for the price, what was offered was nothing special (plus, the pork wasn't cooked well, and the sausages didn't even have any color). In contrast, the food at a regular restaurant back then was excellent.

Last week, I was in Baden-Baden with my family. There was live music in town, and we went to the Schloss Eberstein stand because we really liked the menu. The five of us ate for over €130. The bill was brought to us immediately after our meal. We paid and played games at the table; there were a few tables free. Five minutes later, we were asked to order again or leave, even though we still had drinks. Absolutely outrageous! The food was very good, but the hospitality after paying the bill was absolutely outrageous.

In August 2025, we celebrated our wedding at Schloss Eberstein – and we couldn't have wished for a better place. The location is stunning: the rose garden, the view of the valley, and the stylish rooms are unique. We celebrated in the Schlossschänke (castle tavern) and would choose the same venue again anytime – everything was perfectly prepared! The wedding planning was also extremely pleasant. Schloss Eberstein took care of almost the entire organization – we only had to communicate the number of guests and flower and cake requests; everything else ran smoothly through the team. We were able to completely relax, knowing that everything would be perfectly organized. On the day itself, the celebration was simply flawless. The team was incredibly friendly, professional, and helpful. The food was outstanding, the drinks selection was top-notch, and our guests were thrilled with the service, ambiance, and atmosphere. The non-alcoholic sparkling wine at the reception, the snacks, and the dinner were particularly praised. Many thanks to the entire team at Schloss Eberstein – you made our wedding unforgettable! We would celebrate here again anytime. 💕

We ate and stayed here and felt very comfortable.

The hotel's outstanding location is particularly impressive – right next to an excellent Michelin-starred restaurant and a cozy beer garden that invites you to linger, and surrounded by wild boar. The building itself exudes historic charm, and its architecture and atmosphere are truly worthy of a castle. The rooms are somewhat older, but well-maintained and clean. You can feel the classic character, which will certainly appeal to lovers of traditional hotels, but those expecting more modern amenities might have to make some compromises. There is no wellness area, which might be missed during a longer stay.

Beautiful location and two restaurants. Unfortunately, visitors can't see the impressive facade. But the view is magnificent.

This stay was a pleasure throughout: a beautiful house. Really good, refined food, not boring, monotonous dishes. Friendly and competent staff.

What a wonderful surprise, a last-minute late afternoon booking as we were passing through the area we stumble on the Schlosh Eberstein Castle and Hotel - 4 stars and worthy of each one. Perfectly located along the way, a beautiful setting high up on a hill overlooking a valley and a few small towns. Room was wonderful, spacious and overlooking the valley. Lots of parking around the property and only 12 km from the famous Biden Biden area. Breakfast was absolutely amazing in the “palatial” Mirror room - which was included in a stay, could sit there all morning. Staff and Management were friendly and helpful, really felt comfortable, a perfect place to relax for a few days before continuing our journey. Number of different restaurant options on the property, including a Michelin rated chef / dining which is top class If you’re in the area and want something special, this is it!!!

We were there for an after-work event and loved the location and the view. I tried various dishes and was delighted. I can't comment on the rooms, as we were only there that evening. It's a shame that the residents don't understand such an event and start complaining before 10 p.m. Otherwise, I give it a definite thumbs up 👍🏼

It's certainly something special to be accommodated in such luxurious surroundings. A top-notch room with charm and breakfast in the Hall of Mirrors. The food in the gourmet restaurant was incredibly good, uplifting and inspiring. The cuisine in the castle tavern was rather disappointing. All in all, it was a wonderful weekend in this magnificent Black Forest setting.

The rooms are a bit run-down; the shower holder in our room was broken, which caused some irritation, which certainly shouldn't be the case for a 4-star hotel. The food was excellent; we had a 5-course meal in the restaurant, which was excellent. Thumbs up for that. The location on a mountainside with a beautiful view was fantastic, but it was a shame that our room overlooked another building and couldn't enjoy the magnificent view.

First time there, and I'm thrilled. Great service, delicious, delicious, delicious. The view is magnificent. My dog is welcome, it couldn't be better!

The castle, the view, is truly beautiful. We ate at the castle tavern. The service was very friendly. I had a sausage salad, which tasted good, but the portion size was very small for €13.50. When I asked if it was available with cheese, the answer was: "Not possible, there's no cheese in the house." This is my subjective opinion; please form your own opinion.

The Werner family and the Schloss Eberstein team continually outdo themselves! Thanks to your loving and extremely dedicated work, our wedding was an absolute dream. Your hospitality is second to none. From the management, to the room and restaurant service, to the chef, everyone gives 120%, and you can feel it. Thank you so much for everything!

Beautifully situated above the Murg Valley, the view from above and the view of the Murg Valley are equally magnificent. Delicious cuisine, attentive service, reasonable prices. Own spring water and vineyard.

I received a gift voucher for a one-night stay at Schloss Eberstein and have tried to book a room several times over the past three years. Every time I contacted the hotel, I was told there was no availability. Now, the voucher has expired due to the three-year policy—without me ever having had the chance to use it. Very disappointing experience. Thanks for nothing.

We enjoyed a lovely evening here with delicious food and drinks, stayed overnight in a wonderful room, and finished off with a very good breakfast. Highly recommended.

One thing you expect above all from a castle hotel: peace and quiet. I arrived at 10 p.m. and was able to get the key from the safe. That was great. The room faced the back and was directly above the cold storage room, and the fans made a ton of noise. That's perfectly acceptable. The bed was much too soft; I think new mattresses are needed. The bathroom is spacious, the shower is built-in and in good condition. There's plenty of parking outside on the street, which is great. The Wi-Fi is poor; it keeps dropping out and then stops working altogether. At least there's LTE through the network provider. The breakfast is small and well-organized, but good, and the staff is very friendly.

Just here for a drink. The view is very nice, but the service is a bit chaotic and the prices are too high for the quality, so we didn't stay.

A wonderful spot up on the mountain with a wonderful view of the Murg Valley. The castle houses an upscale hotel. A terrace is open in good weather. A good restaurant, and for gourmets, there's also a gourmet restaurant. Highly recommended. There are also special rooms for parties.

Despite the large number of guests and our group that Saturday, the entire team maintained an impressive level of friendliness and professionalism that characterized the evening from start to finish. The event was planned with great attention to detail and excellently organized – the signature of a passionate team of hosts was evident everywhere. We would particularly like to highlight the culinary diversity: Each station was a delight, creatively curated and excellently prepared. An evening full of atmosphere, warmth, and enjoyment – ​​we felt completely at home and are already looking forward to seeing you again soon. Thank you for the wonderful weekend.

The location of the restaurant speaks for itself. Beautiful view over the Murgtal. The food is an absolute dream. Something for everyone. Bernd Wagner & his team were very, very friendly and accommodating. We'll definitely be back!

I was only on the terrace of the restaurant. Such an idyllic place to relax with a glass of wine. Only recommended 👍. Easily accessible on foot via the Gernsbach hiking trails or by bike.

Were there for the kitchen party for the 20th anniversary. Great location and very good organization. The food was of a good standard, you can't expect star cuisine here, that's not feasible for so many people. Price/performance was still right for the overall event, especially because of the high-quality wines served and the other drinks on offer (long drinks, etc.) - these were all included in the price.

Super nice location, we had dinner there with a group. Food definitely fills you up. Drinks service could have been better, many drinks were empty and only when you asked did someone come. I can't rate the rooms, they were only there for eating

Da wir einen Rollstuhlfahrer dabei hatten, war der Zugang etwas erschwert. In der Schlossschänke war der Zugang möglich. Neben unserer Zufriedenheit mit dem Essen muss erwähnt werden, dass das Personal aus jungen vietnamesischen Auszubildenden bestand. Diese waren so hilfsbereit, so aufmerksam, so freundlich, dass ich mich entschlossen habe, dies hier zu erwähnen. Davon könnten viele Beschäftigte in der Gastronomie lernen, wie man es richtig macht. Toll!

Everything has been taken care of down to the last detail. The restaurant is also cozy and offers good quality. It is not cheap, but the unique location with a beautiful view of the valley, the quality and the friendly staff ensure good value for money.

Were not there as hotel guests, but for coffee and cake after a short hike from Gernsbach. The location is really great, we sat on the terrace with a great view and a wonderful view of the area, cakes and coffee were very good.

On 14.o3. we went to the kitchen party. The food was very tasty and everything around it was very inviting. Friendly and courteous service. Highly recommended, you have to experience it.

Wir haben in einer kleinen Gruppe einen runden Geburtstag mit dem 5-Gang Abendmenü nebst Weinreise gefeiert. Traumhafte Lage des Schlosses oberhalb des Murgtals. Sehr schöne Grüße aus der Küche zu Beginn; der Brotkorb nebst Zutaten sehr verlockend; fast schon zu reichlich. Überragender Auftakt mit der Gänseleber mit Bitterschokolade: geniale Kombination. Üppiger Hauptgang (Presa vom Ibericoschwein), ebenfalls fast zu viel. Service und Ambiente entsprechen dem hohen Anspruch an ein Restaurant mit Michelin-Stern. Wir waren positiv überrascht und rundum zufrieden. Glücklicherweise hatten wir auch Zimmer im Schloss gebucht; diese waren wie das Frühstück am nächsten Morgen ebenfalls sehr schön.

I did not have the opportunity to be a guest of a hotel or restaurant. I walked up to the castle to see it and the views. They really are worth a million. But the opportunity to look across the valley towards Obertsroth. Part of the territory where the restaurant is located is also available for inspection. Unfortunately, you can’t go higher to get a 360-degree view from the highest point. I think this is the view that opens, but I can guess about it.

Just went to visit, had a coffee just to enjoy the fantastic views

We are regularly at Eberstein Castle, both in the Schloss Schänke and in Werner's Restaurant. It's always great and the kitchen always comes up with something to expand your horizons of enjoyment. We have also attended the kitchen party several times. The atmosphere, the food and the whole atmosphere are second to none. Finally, we had our civil and church wedding together with the team from Mr. Werner planned there too, there was nothing to complain about, from the planning to the celebration, you always felt well advised. We'll definitely be back.

Very reasonably priced. Beauty is everywhere you look! Fantastic service and friendliness. Great English-speaking. Amazing dinner on site! That was also reasonably priced. And breakfast was wonderful, with so many options.

Close to perfect. Very good cuisine, has earned the various awards. Varied 5 course menu. Wine list with an excellent selection of interesting wines. Discreet, very good service. Beautiful, tastefully decorated hotel room. Rich breakfast of very good quality. Only the service at breakfast offers some potential for improvement. We had already booked our next stay when we left. Update from December 28th to 29th, 2024: We were guests there again as announced. As usual, everything was great, but the service at breakfast was also great. Very happy again.

There are very beautiful views from the mountain

There's not much more to say about the great star restaurant, the beautiful hotel and the impressive castle, but in my opinion the cozy castle tavern gets far too little attention. An excellent place to enjoy a good glass of wine, the food (highly recommended and cheap!) and the view. Open daily, for me this is the perfect combination for a stop for two, with friends or family!

A superb place at the top of a windswept hill, vine stocks descending towards the village, a fir forest before arriving there, magnificent. I took three bottles of the schloss: what a joy! 😎

Fantastic place to spend a short weekend in!

We had booked the gourmet package (overnight stay including breakfast and 5-course menu). Our expectations were exceeded. The food was incredibly tasty and the service was very attentive without being intrusive. Our room was cozy, clean and very nice. The breakfast also left nothing to be desired. We loved it so much that we had already booked our next stay when we checked out. A big thank you to the kitchen team, who use food to create culinary delights. Wonderful service with fantastic food. Definitely worth a trip for food alone. After a long walk I the Schwarzwald there is nothing better than coming to Schloss Eberstein to have a fantastic meal.

We were wonderfully pampered on our 43rd wedding anniversary

1 star for the beautiful view. The cake tasted like it had been thawed by Coppenrath and Wiese. For the price we would have expected something better, for example homemade cakes.

Schade, auf Grund des hervorragenden Rufes und der örtlichen Nähe zu meiner Schwiegermutter hatten wir uns für eine Mittagessen in der Schlossschänke entschieden, und mit Blick auf die Karte auch schon auf das ein oder andere gefreut. Bereits bei der Online-Reservierung erhielten wir keine Rückmeldung - gut kann passieren, also hinterher telefoniert. Am anderen Ende der Leitung eine Dame die kurz und knapp nach meiner Telefonnummer fragte und bereits wieder auflegen wollte, bis ich erneut nachgefragt habe ob der Tisch für in zwei Tagen denn nun reserviert sei? - Ok, auch hier habe ich gedacht, es kann immer mal Stress Situationen geben oder die Unerfahrenheit der Mitarbeiterin könnte dazu geführt haben.... Nun gut, am Tag der Reservierung sind wir 2 Stunden mit dem Auto angereist, haben meine über 90 Jährige Schwiegermutter ins Auto gepackt und uns auf ein tolles Mittagessen gefreut. Früher war Sie immer gerne auf dem Schloß Eberstein zu Besuch und hat vor allem das Ambiente stets gelobt. Am Parkplatz angekommen sind wir ausgestiegen, haben die Aussicht genossen und uns langsam auf den Weg zur Schlossschänke begeben - die Treppe erschien uns durch die physischen Unzulänglichkeiten der Seniorin keine gute Wahl zu sein. wir liefen auf das verschlossene Eingangstor im Garten zu, sahen zwei Mitarbeiterinnen, welche mit dem Richten des Außenbereiches beschäftigt waren und fragten höflich nach dem Eingang - kurz und knapp " Hier ist zu , wir machen um 12 Uhr auf" - wir haben nochmal nachgefragt, ob wir eventuell schon auf das Gelände dürften, damit sich meine Schwiegermutter hinsetzen könne, da sie nicht so lange stehen kann. Auch hatten wir erwähnt, dass wir für heute reserviert hatten. Wiederrum kam eine knappe nicht sehr höfliche Antwort "Wir machen um 12 Uhr auf, wenn sie sich setzen möchte, befindet sich eine Bank wenn wir die Treppe wieder hinaufgingen." - Etwas konsterniert von diesem Verhalten hat sich mein Mann dann entschieden im oberen Teil des Geländes zu fragen ob es dort eine Möglichkeit gäbe, auch dort wurde uns zu verstehen gegeben, dass man damit eigentlich nichts zu tun habe und gerade ein Kochkurs liefe - so stehen gelassen haben wir uns entschieden unverrichteter Dinge wieder zu gehen. Unter Gastfreundlichkeit und Willkommenskultur verstehen wir etwas anderes - selbst auch aus der Gastronomie kommend, völlig unverständlich. Wir haben um 11:42 Uhr das erste Mal die Mitarbeiter angesprochen, gefahren sind wir schließlich als das Tor immer noch verschlossen war um 11:54 Uhr. Früher hätten wir unseren Gästen den Zutritt ermöglicht und gegebenenfalls noch einen zusätzlichen Umsatz mit einem Aperitif erzielt... Egal, wir hatten dennoch einen tollen Tag, denn ein anderes Restaurant mit freundlichem Personal hat uns "aufgenommen" und überzeugt. Normalerweise beteiligen wir uns nicht an Rezessionen und Bewertungen, hier allerdings dachten wir man solle die Erfahrung durchaus kund tun, denn sonst werden auch andere enttäuscht. Gerne hätte wir unser Unbehagen auch bei den zuständigen Mitarbeitern / Betreibern kund getan, jedoch war weder in der einen noch in der anderen Restauration jemand zuständig oder offen hierfür.

We were there for our wedding anniversary. For a candlelight dinner with overnight stay and breakfast. In order not to waste too many words, I'll just say that if I could give stars the whole team would get one. For very friendly staff. The flexibility and willingness to help are simply brilliant. Since my wife is in a wheelchair, everything was sorted out by the castle team so that she too could experience an unforgettable wedding day. Food perfect. I can only recommend it and thumbs up. We got married at Eberstein Castle this year. It is a beautiful location and we can highly recommend it for a celebration. A very competent team looked after us from the start and was open to all questions and requests. The food was great and individual requests were catered for very well.

Good food in a historical ambience, despite a few small "slips" in the service, an overall successful evening. One of the most beautiful beer terraces I know invites you to relax, drink and eat.

The breakfast is royal. Unfortunately our bed wasn't as regal. The torn carpet on the steps poses a tripping hazard.

Went to the restaurant, which was good. Therefore, no rating for the rooms. The castle looks nice, though. Staying the night there might be fun.

We were there this weekend and had a junior suite. Very spacious and very very clean. Everything your heart desires was provided. There was fresh fruit every day in the corridors in front of the rooms. The entire area/castle 🏰 was extremely well maintained. The staff is more than friendly and super nice. There was no laundry left unturned. The breakfast was sensational! The atmosphere in the hall during breakfast was fantastic. Kudos to everyone. We'll be back.

A cozy restaurant/beer garden. Great view of the valley and the Black Forest. A good card with enough offers. Everything tasted very good. However, in my opinion the price-performance ratio is not right. 32 euros for a veal schnitzel with potato salad and cranberries is very expensive. The situation is similar with the other dishes. The parking conditions for cars are also suboptimal. Far too few and very narrow street. Nevertheless, the castle terrace ambience is very beautiful and extraordinary.

We were in the restaurant (the Schänke, not the Gourmet) and found it delightful. Simply a great location with a corresponding view, even if the village is unfortunately somewhat spoiled by the factory. Food - there are also delicious vegetarian options - really excellent, attentive service, everything a nice evening with friends should be like!

We wanted to spend a nice evening in the castle tavern. That would have been successful if all the drinks hadn't ended up on my skirt right at the beginning. It can happen, the young woman also apologized, but that was it! Nothing came from the restaurant. As I leave I ask who I can send the cleaning bill to. The answer was: the young woman... That's it. No other form of apology. I know this differently from other, less expensive restaurants. It's a pity the Werner family...

We stayed for one night here, 2 parents and 3 kids and we had a fabulous experience. We got a huge suite with 3 bedrooms, a private garden and even a outdoor cabin. The staff was super friendly and flexible. The location is romantic, with lots of fresh air and green forest. We would definitely love to visit here again.

Hello 😊 We were a group of 6 people on an E-Bike. We took place on the terrace from where we had a beautiful panoramic view of the valley. Fast service, smiling staff. I noticed that there were bowls for doggies so I think they are accepted there. I can only recommend this establishment.👍👌

beautiful castle, poor overwhelmed service; Room wasn't cleaned, no towels.. Bathroom is tiny despite the comfort room, shower in bathtub that is installed the wrong way round. Rather impractical for showering, as the sloping roof restricted freedom of movement. Rooms ok so far; The highlight is the air conditioning with super “quiet mode”. It was good to have when the outside temperature was 31°C (under the roof). TV from the last century. Some programs were missing. Candlelight dinner without candlelight (ok, it was outside), aperitif was forgotten; Time between intermediate course and main course 1 hour; Kitchen was overwhelmed because of the full beer garden. The view and location under the plane trees is wonderful. So it was a bit of a mixed experience. For these room prices and what's on offer, it's not a recommendation. Too bad. :-(
