The restaurant has a typically Greek decor and offers a very wide selection of dishes – there's something for everyone. The value for money is truly excellent. Unfortunately, the restaurant is not suitable for allergy sufferers. I specifically ordered a dish without onions and garlic because I have a severe allergy. Nevertheless, I was served a plate with lots of onions. After I returned the dish, I received another plate a few minutes later – again with onions. The waiter then disappeared and was never found again. Only the manager took care of the matter, cleared my plate, and responded very kindly. As an apology, I was offered a coffee/espresso, which I felt was fair. Overall, a mixed experience: good food and prices, but you should be very careful if you have allergies.

We weren't in the hotel, but in the restaurant. Service was friendly, restrooms clean, and the food was delicious. For five people, it cost €160. We got a free ouzo at the end, as we did at many other Greek restaurants. The atmosphere was very nice; you almost felt like you were in Greece on the outdoor terrace. Unfortunately, there were a lot of flies as soon as the meat arrived. Fans were available to make it a bit more bearable.

A very good Greek restaurant, and the outdoor area transports you to Greece. There was only one minor drawback: the meals (for 14 people) unfortunately arrived very staggered. Overall, however, the price/performance ratio was absolutely fine. All the dishes were plentiful and very tasty, but one German dish deserves special mention: the schnitzel was excellent.

We had a wonderful meal here! From the outside, it doesn't look particularly inviting, but once you step inside, you're transported to Greece. We sat in a lovely outdoor garden that was beautifully decorated. The staff was quick and friendly, and the food was fantastic. Generous portions and a wide selection, including vegetarian options! I definitely recommend the fried zucchini!

Review for the restaurant only: A good Greek restaurant that has been a fixture among the many restaurants in Gernsbach for years. The menu is very varied and the quality of the food is good! The portions are generous, usually including a side salad! The prices are all reasonable! The service is very "businesslike" but OK. A highlight in the summer is dining in the beautiful "Greek" garden with its many beautiful flowers and Greek motifs. The terrace is covered but can be opened if needed or when the weather is nice, creating a "holiday feeling" under blue skies!

We don't know the rooms. We've eaten here several times before. We enjoy the food and like the ambiance. The restaurant has an outdoor area, where we usually sit. It has a roof that can be closed in bad weather. So we always enjoy coming back.

Review for the hotel only: Stayed at the hotel for one night, room facing the street, quite noisy. Overall, a bit dated and "messily decorated," but functional. Staff were friendly, the restaurant had a nice atmosphere, but we didn't eat there.

We were able to make a reservation by phone one hour before opening on the weekend. The atmosphere is great, and the staff was very quick and friendly. Our special requests for the food were accommodated. For us, the value for money was absolutely fine. Highly recommended! 😁

Just here for dinner. Very good Greek meal on a nice terrace. The gyros and moussaka were very good. Ouzo and a small salad were offered. We'll be back.

Yesterday at 12:30 p.m. we had lunch at the Syrtaki restaurant in Gernsbach. There were only four guests besides us in the beautifully decorated restaurant. We received a friendly welcome, and our drinks and food arrived quickly. We chose gyros in Metaxa sauce, topped with cheese, French fries, and salad, as well as grilled beef liver with fried onions, French fries, and salad. Unfortunately, the salad came without dressing and only with Mediterranean seasoning. The gyro was good and a really large portion. It's a shame that the French fries were also in the casserole dish over the Metaxa sauce, because they were completely soggy after a short time. The beef liver was good, just a bit too tough, and the onions were deep-fried and too greasy. The price-performance ratio is absolutely fine, as the portions are really very large. The toilets are like new and sparkling clean - other restaurants could learn a thing or two from them.

Just rate the restaurant: Absolutely fantastic. Great atmosphere (outdoor area), large portions, fair prices, ouzo on the house, fresh beers, and above all: delicious

This review refers to the restaurant. It was my first time at Syrtaki. For me, it was "okay," but not "the experience." Prices are reasonable for the portions. Any requests for substitutions are charged separately. Very crowded, seating is cramped. The salad wasn't my taste. There was no proper dressing, and the white tomatoes had no flavor. I don't know if I'll be back.

The food itself was very good, large portions. Had to wait a relatively long time for the food, the restaurant was full. We had the impression that the waitresses were a bit overwhelmed - the dip we ordered only came when we had almost finished eating, despite repeated requests. Absolute no-go: Some guests received free Uzo as a welcome and farewell, others as a farewell and we weren't even asked.

Wir waren spontan an einem Donnerstag zum Abendessen hier. Der Service war freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir haben für drei Personen eine Vorspeisenplatte bestellt die nicht auf der Karte stand was kein Problem war. Die Platte war sehr lecker mit kalten und warmen Speisen. Auch die anderen bestellten Hauptgerichte waren lecker und reichlich!! Komme gerne wieder !! Zum Ende gab es noch einen ouzo in eisgekühlten Gläsern aufs Haus ! Alles in allem komme ich gerne wieder !

Five of us visited the restaurant in the summer, the service was flawless, the portions were very generous, the baked calamaries were relatively good. salty, the taste was otherwise ok, the gyros was also very salty, the salad was very large, a lot of herbs, salad ingredients, vinegar and oil were all rather on the neutral side in terms of taste.

The food was good, just the portions were too big, but you can get the rest if you want. Ambiance is a bit old. Staff attention can be a little better.

The food is excellent - Greek, as it should be. Bonus: There are plenty of delicious things on the menu, especially for vegetarians - and also vegans. The service is Greek warm. Overall: Simply good!

Since I've just been in Gernsbach for a few days, I tried the Syrtaki restaurant today. The terrace immediately gives you a holiday feeling in summer and you forget that you are actually in the Black Forest. The menu offers typical Greek dishes that taste really good and the portions are quite generous. Since the staff is consistently friendly and very attentive, we can only recommend Syrtaki. It makes sense to reserve a table as the restaurant fills up quite quickly, even during the week. I can't say anything about the hotel.

Wir hatten schon Wochen zuvor einen Tisch reserviert. Hat auch wunderbar geklappt. Für Mittwochs war es ganz schön besucht. Jetzt wissen wir auch warum. Das Gyros war eines der besten das wir in der letzten Zeit hatten. Auch der Spies war sehr zart. Einzig die Peperoni waren für mich etwas zu scharf, aber meiner Frau haben sie geschmeckt. Über den Service können wir uns auch nicht beschweren, genau wie über die Größe der Portionen.

Metaxa sauce is highly recommended. Hotel not tested.

Is there such a thing as a smoking hotel? Yes, this is available in Gernsbach. There was a lot of smoking at reception and during check-in. When you go in and out you have to go through a kind of dining room where some guys were constantly smoking tobacco. The smell of nicotine also wafted through the stairwell and was also noticeable in the hotel rooms.

We were here as part of a family celebration. The food was very filling and good. The ambience outside… verdigris and mold in the niches that are for several people. It would be a nice courtyard, but the dirt and mold in said niches made it impossible.

If a restaurant has a full house on a Wednesday evening, it must be good. It is like that. And the gyros are really great when baked. Amount hardly manageable. Taste great. Salad plate in advance is awesome. Price: performance fits. Service quick and courteous. Dined there twice this year too. Still full points for quick and courteous service and the best food at a reasonable price. We would be happy to come back next year when we are guests in Gernsbach again.

Very tasty food! BUT the side salad was NOTHING - sorry! Green salad, cabbage and a bit of carrot salad with tasteless dressing sauce, that was better. We still find prices within reasonable limits. 1 star deducted because of the salad.

Our absolute favorite Greek restaurant for years. Unfortunately we were very disappointed today. The prices have risen considerably again, which is okay if the quality remains the same. Instead, we were massively disappointed with the side salad. This was always a highlight - beautifully dressed in Greek style with vinegar and oil and garnished with tomatoes, cucumber, peppers, onions and sheep's cheese. Now just a loveless green salad with a not at all tasty yogurt dressing and none of the above. Savings are being made at the wrong end here. We also had to wait more than 1.5 hours for the food... that was manageable for me because there was a lot going on. I hope the side salad is changed back to the old one. Please let us know if that is the case. Then we will come again.

Good day, unfortunately I have to say that the grilled fish platter for 4 people was not what was ordered! It wasn't a grilled platter but fried fish! There were also 2 pieces of fillet per head, 1 shrimp per head, and the end of the calamari, 4 very small pieces per head and lots of potatoes that were ready to be prepared! All for a price of €112

Was eating here again for the first time in years. The vegetarian starter platter was really a disgrace. Served on lettuce leaves that were mushy after a very short time, fatty vegetables and everything garnished with extra garlic. This has nothing to do with Greek food. Oh and to all meat eaters: the starter salad used to score points because it was a small Greek salad. Now there is only a loveless salad with yogurt dressing. No olives, no pepperoni... Nothing. Super disappointing everything...

I visited the restaurant for the first and last time yesterday evening on March 27th, 2024. The salad was full of cream and oil and almost not salted at all, with no taste. The main course "Grilled Turkey" was served with a sauce that was just as full of oil and cream as the salad. It wasn't salted either. Since I didn't want to have a diarrhea from oil and cream and the taste of the food wasn't worth it anyway, I paid and left the restaurant completely disappointed. I know Greek restaurants completely differently.

Were there for dinner in December. Actually everything was great and there was no reason to complain, but they really don't make good coffee. I first tried an espresso and then a cappuccino... both to run away from. They really need to improve that.

Service, delicacies, wine, beer and of course not forgetting the culture. Immerse yourself in the Japanese world and enjoy the ambience with outstanding roofs and columns and eat the favorite dish straight from Japan, namely gyros with cream. Lots of fun for the family and especially small children are very welcome. They can run around the entire restaurant and play with each other without any problems. Pick up the phone and reserve a table today. You have to know.

We were there for lunch on Boxing Day. I personally can't say anything negative. My lamb shank with okra was absolutely delicious. The others had grill plates and the turkey schnitzel was ordered once. The meat was probably a little dry, but still OK. We tested it and found it to be ok to good, but everyone has different requirements and has their own taste. My conclusion: Make up your own mind. With this in mind, we wish you a healthy New Year.

We thought about going out to eat there because other restaurants were full or closed. When we looked for a table we had to wait a long time. After 15 minutes, there was still no service and it wasn't that crowded. One person said: “I’ll be right there.” After waiting another 10 minutes, we decided to leave. I have never experienced anything like it.

Wir waren nach Jahren mal wieder im Syrtaki. Leider hat uns die Qualität des Essen`s diesmal nicht mehr überzeugt. Der Salat hatte kaum bis kein Dressing, der Tomatenreis war mit Zimt gewürzt und das Fleisch war einfach nur ok. Schade, wir waren besseres gewohnt.

Wir haben dort sehr gut gegessen und mit 4 Erwachsenen und einem Kind ziemlich günstig gegessen. Da werden wir mit Sicherheit bald wieder essen gehen.

Ich habe schon lange nicht mehr so lecker griechisch gegessen. Gyros mega lecker, Pommer fantastisch und diese gegrillten Peperoni. Ein Traum. Hackfleisch sehr saftig. Es war einfach alles perfekt.

Ich war zum ersten Mal im Restaurant und bin sehr zufrieden mit dem Aufenthalt gewesen. Die Terrasse ist wirklich schön angelegt und kann bei gutem Wetter auch komplett geöffnet werden. Das Personal war freundlich und die Toiletten angemessen sauber. Zu essen hatte ich einen Grillteller mit diversen Grillspezialitäten. Das Essen war gut, ohne weiterer Überraschungen . Der Preis der Speisen war dafür aber wiederum erschwinglich. Alles in allem einen Besuch wert!

Fantastisch, tolles Location, gut organisierter Service

Sehr guter Grieche bei dem man auch einige vegetarische Gerichte bekommt, was bei einem Griechen durchaus nicht immer üblich ist. Besonders wenn man draußen sitzen und essen kann fühlt man sich ein bisschen wie in Griechenland.
