The Obatzda was very good, the pretzel was fresh and the salad was beautifully presented with a delicious dressing and pumpkin seeds, croutons and cress. The beers are cold and very well poured, the tables are always wiped down, the service is really quick and friendly, and the dog is also brought fresh water. The view of 2 castles at the same time is incredibly beautiful. It doesn't get any better. I can't understand the bad reviews.

It's a nice beer garden, the service was friendly and nice. But opinions differ when it comes to food. The roast pork had almost no sauce. I politely complained about this to the service team. He came out of the kitchen and said he had to pay 2 euros for it. That's a disgrace from the kitchen. The roast pork was a very, very dry affair and you could hardly eat it. We won't come anymore. At most to drink a beer. But no longer for eating.

The food tastes good. The portion size of the pork crust roast was good, the knuckles were too small and they also charged 2.50 euros for extra sauce. That's pretty bold. The portion of the Kaiserschmarrn should have been larger for 13.50 euros. And then also 12.00 euros for parking. You don't have to go out of the country to get ripped off. I won't be coming back to Fussen in such conditions to see the sights, to give the tourists a drift. Not only tourists but also locals and that sort of thing is not great. You're no longer willing to give a good drink money when for everything allowed to pay extra!!!!!!.

Had lunch here during a trip to Neuschwanstein Castle. The place as busy but the waitress was friendly and efficient and I got a table after a short wait. I ordered the local sausage and wheat bier. Both were good. Service was fast and efficient. A good option for meals in the area.

Hello, the restaurant has a great location and the service was very friendly and on the ball. Food came very quickly as did the drinks. The only point of criticism was that the fried onions in our cheese spaetzle were very soft and very mushy. Price/performance was a bit disappointing in this regard. But otherwise everything was great.

No, that was nothing. Service unfriendly and not very committed. Food arrived after less than 2 minutes, which doesn't bode well. Potato salad ok, bratwurst boring and nothing special. But the prices are totally outrageous.

Unfortunately not recommended. The food was disastrous. We had cream mushrooms with bread dumplings - that was everything but bread dumplings!!!, Viennese style schnitzel - the schnitzel was just bad!!! and roast pork - meat OK, but never had such bad dumplings. The staff just seemed stressed, even though the store wasn't necessarily full. They weren't flexible enough to make separate invoices for our group (5 people, 2 receipts requested).

It is very convenient to have lunch here after visiting the Swan Castle. It should be the choice of most tourists, so the business is very good and almost full. It also happened to rain and it rained a lot during the meal. The food tastes good, and it is a short break for a meal. Good choice.

We had drinks and icecream outside. We were joined by ALOT of wasps (the kids made a trap for them).

Hello, unfortunately I was disappointed. Visually chic, I imagined typical German Bavarian cuisine. I got a snack or 0815 canteen. You can pay the price, but not for this quality. Just under €15 for a bratwurst like from Aldi and a potato salad from a bucket. The price-performance ratio is not right despite the ambience. The schnitzel also looked like an outdoor pool snack. Obadzter with salad for €10 was ok. Roast pork looked very good.

I was taught to always start a review with something positive. Accordingly; The location of the beer garden is really pretty. But that's where the positive impressions end. The staff was incredibly unfriendly. The beer we ordered was poured onto the table with such force that almost half of it spilled over. The tables were not wiped and there were no fresh dishes on the tables. The food was acceptable. The white sausages were okay, although I have never seen bad white sausages anywhere. The pretzels were soggy and definitely not fresh. The cheese spaetzle tasted like the ones you can buy out of a bag at REWE for €2.50 and the onions were soft and not crispy. Overall, I definitely can't recommend this. It's better to go to Schwangau and eat there, you can get more and better food there for the same price.

Quite OK, but nothing more. We initially sat outside, unfortunately there were so many wasps there that we preferred to go inside. The ambience inside is not nice at all. It sounds and smells extremely like old beer. It is also very dark. We ate the Obatzer with a pretzel and the Wiener Schnitzel. Unfortunately the pretzel was very dry and hard. Otherwise the platter was very tasty and sufficient. The portion of the Wiener Schnitzel was okay, could be larger. But the food came very quickly. The cutlery is in jugs on the tables, unfortunately there were only spoons on our table. Since there was no service nearby for minutes, we had to walk from table to table and collect our cutlery while our food was already there...

Expensive chip shop, restaurant?

I didn't pay a tip. Choosing a tip is a great way to play in times like this. Even though I got stung by a bee, she didn't care. That's heartless. We were nervous (for no good reason) about trying this place and our experience was outstanding- all of the German food options we tried were outstanding including the fish, the Spätzle and the schnitzel - and we are now huge fans of pretzel salad!

Tourist venue located halfway between the two castles. Good dishes, but not exceptional. Personally I found it expensive, but in line with prices in the surrounding area. Friendly and helpful staff. Informal environment.

The label on the water bottle was moldy or had mildew stains. After asking for a mold-free bottle, we were given a bottle with fewer mold stains. Obazden was ok but probably not homemade, the sausage salad didn't really look fresh.

Choose wisely: you are in a tourist location where the customer is used to fund the house's finances. I had my first doubt when I saw the note on the card only in English "charged service not included". American friends, you have been warned. In Germany as in many countries, the service is included... And should be specified.... 2nd clue when the glass of beer was served, half filled with foam. It turns out that I don't particularly like drinking foam. The waitress replaced it for me without batting an eyelid. Judging from the many beers served around me, this half-quantity practice was well established. 3rd surprise: I was tempted by seasonal chanterelle pasta. Surprise, the chanterelles have transformed into button mushrooms. It's not the same price: €4 versus €25 for chanterelles. This didn't seem to surprise the waiter who assured me that it was certainly because the kitchen didn't have any chanterelles. However, he offered me a coffee as compensation since he couldn't do anything about the price🫢 Besides, for US friends, the service was included 😉 So consumer friends: a bird forewarned is worth two.

Update summer 2024... the service is friendly and we ordered several beers, all of which came to the table only half full... At the third beer we said something, after all it costs over five euros there and the waitress brought us new ones without any problem... the waiter behind the counter should see something like that before he gives it out... if I pay 0.5, I want to I also have 0.5😉We were there yesterday 2023 for a morning pint, with live music, we really enjoyed it, the service was A1 and we had a great day, thank you👍 see you soon🥨🍺

We sat in the brewery in the evening. On Sunday afternoon the waiting time was too long. Food was solid. Compared to other pubs in the region, this falls short. We had the schnitzel once for adults and for children. There was no difference to be seen. But in terms of price. The Ameron concept in Neuschwanstein benefits from international tourism. In terms of quality, the hotel and restaurant have the character of a conference hotel.

Small beer garden with live music. Unfortunately I think it's a bit overpriced. You can tell that they mostly go after American and Asian tourists because they pay no matter how expensive it is.

Warm beer on a warm day. No thanks, and after we complained, they just put ice in Radler. You generally don't feel welcome right from the start. The staff are indifferent and rather bored or annoyed. It's a real shame, because you want to start your vacation in such a beautiful place in a better way.

Can't quite understand the bad reviews. It is a beer garden where classic food is served like in a beer garden. If you keep this in mind when making your choice, you won't be disappointed. The potato and cucumber salad was homemade and so was the lemonade. The view is great. Perfect for a day in the sun.

The beer garden is close to the bus stop for Neuschwanstein Castle and has a nice, inviting atmosphere. The food is also good and the shandy is particularly recommended. What unfortunately has to be criticized is the slow service. First of all, the wait before you are assigned a table and then the service at the table. However, if you have some time, it's not a problem.

We just went for a drink. For the price the service was subpar. 2 out of 5 drinks ordered came to the table correctly. Not a word of apology - a shame ☹️

You can get a table with views of both castles. Skip lunch (it is fine) and enjoy great desserts (Almcreme is creme brulée with awesome cherries, apple strudel is also great). Ask for the Apricot Scnapps (Marillenschnaps); you're welcome. :)

3 people, staff in the beer garden and all 3 busy with the TV for the audience viewing. After 10 minutes of asking the nice lady behind the counter whether we could order something, she spoke to her colleague who was responsible for service. This gentleman (with the tattooed arm) then said to her "I'll serve you straight away, we're not at McDonald's". The lady was very uncomfortable and apologized to us. VERY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. We weren't the only ones who left the beer garden. A couple came after us, they also had to watch as 3 waitresses made sure that the TV was properly viewed, and they also left the beer garden. That's not how you treat guests. The three of them have clearly missed their job.

Food was quite good. It was my first time trying Bavarian cuisine. Service was quick and efficient. My waitress was nice. And of course the design of the buildings and the castles and mountains are a nice vibe.

Very bad service in the beer garden. We were able to order a maximum of one drink, which was delivered to us, after which no service employee was ever seen at the table again. According to the motto, table number 95 will not be served today. Table service clearly gets 0 stars here. The food is just pretty to look at on the menu, what you get at the end is available in every snack bar for a third of the price. (Bratwurst with Hoxxxn potato salad for €14.50. The schnitzel was as dry as the sole of a shoe for €19.50... 100m further is the Müller restaurant, where service is still alive and the food is excellent.

Delicious! We had the pretzel with Camembert cheese, the mushroom stew with a dumpling, and the pork medallions. The pretzel is served cold but was still good. Our server was excellent & attentive. A bit overpriced but to be expected at an attraction like the castles.

I was rather unimpressed with this restaurant. The waiter was very unfriendly and not welcoming at all. The restaurant felt a bit like a place in a train station. I had a Wurstsalat that was rather bland, the sausage was swimming in a really taste-free thin sauce, garnished with half a tomato and some parsley. The place is basically a tourist-feeding station - I cannot recommend it at all, not worth the prices they have.

Well the food is honestly not that good, I ate pork loin 🙈 It was very dry and the mushroom cream sauce was very thin, unfortunately I only found one mushroom in the sauce. It's really not recommended 😔

There is more ambience in a train station than in a brewery. We sat inside in the draft even though we would have liked to sit outside in the sun. But only drinks outside! The staff was friendly and the food wasn't bad either, but compared to, for example, the Schlossbrauhaus in Schwangau - only 2 km away - this is a tourist rip-off at overpriced prices.

You are not allowed to eat outside in the beer garden and inside it is loud like a train station.

Schloss Bräustüberl Hohenschwangau, or Hohenschwangau Brewery Inn, is located near Hohenschwangau Castle in Bavaria, Germany.

A service that is good to some and bad to others. They seemed friendly to other tables, but they didn't come to our table and were unfriendly from start to finish. Just because you're in a hotel, don't expect the same level of service as a hotel. It was very uncomfortable while eating.

The area around this place is amazing. But the restaurant offers a combination of bad food and bad service. Not recommend at all!

We stopped there today on our bike tour. It looked very inviting. But the stay wasn't very optimal. The beer garden was 2/3 full but the service couldn't keep up. Some of them weren't particularly friendly either and were totally overwhelmed and uncoordinated. We waited 20 minutes until a waiter came when we called. One waiter was constantly in a bad mood and took it out on his colleagues. Which in my opinion is not possible at all. The food was great and the atmosphere is also very nice. But for us there will definitely not be a second time. Mistakes can happen, that's for sure, but being unkind is not acceptable. And what do you want to do when the store is full?

Poor value for money Juicy prices. Food was edible, but there is much better for a lower price. Portions very small. More of a snack than filling.

Contrary to our fears and other reviews, the food was really good, the service was super nice and attentive and the prices were also fairly reasonable. Four different main courses were all very good and the portions were more than sufficient. Our waiter was extremely helpful and very nice, drinks and food came quite quickly. And that on a Friday afternoon in beautiful weather and during the holidays. And the location is simply unique and a dream, in the middle of the castles and next to the Alpsee.

You can do it...but you don't have to do it. 2 of the 3 waitresses were incredibly grumpy and in a bad mood (service-oriented? None). The third young lady was nice, friendly and served us quickly and courteously. Prices are high (due to the location and lack of choice of alternatives). Sausage salad fat overpriced. Cheese spaetzle was great. Potato soup (advertised with bluwurst) had a carpaccio slice of sausage in the portion: too expensive for what was offered. Classic Touri/Hofbräuhaus price level. A pity.

A large pillared hall with large tables. It's clocky there. With friendly service and you won't be ripped off with the prices despite the perfect location.

On the edge of the Alpsee lake, a traditional beer restaurant below Hohenschwangau Castle (the castle built by King Ludwig II's father, King Mark Michelian II, who built Neuschwanstein Castle)! Time-honored architecture, warm atmosphere, traditional and delicious food, and be sure to order a glass of their own brand beer!

I couldn't understand the bad reviews and that's why I went here twice - both times the price/performance ratio was absolutely great, the taste was great and the service was friendly! Absolute recommendation goes out!

Far too little food for an expensive price

Angepriesen wird das Lokal mit bodenständig, rustikal und gemütlich. Angeblich gibt es authentisch bayrische Wirtshausküche. Das Lokal wäre eigentlich nett, aber es fehlt die Atmosphäre. Musik gibts nicht aber von irgendwoher dröhnt der Bass. Das Essen hat nichts mit authentisch bayrischer Wirtshausküche zu tun, es handelt sich um Convenience Essen, welches vermutlich aus dem Tiefkühler kommt. Wir würden erwarten, dass in einem solche Lokal die Käsespätzle und das Schnitzel hausgemacht sind. Geschmacklich war die TK Ware auch eher unterdurchschnittlich. Beim Eingang musste man 5 Minuten auf den richtigen Mitarbeiter warten, welcher einem zum Tisch führt. Der zuständige Kellner war sehr freundlich und das Essen kam innerhalb von 5-10 Minuten ( kein Wunder bei Convenience Food).

Super great ambience, very, very nice and attentive staff and the food was simply delicious! Highly recommended for a warm apple strudel or Kaiserschmarrn on cold days :-) We would always come back.

Uncomfortable and typically Bavarian. Delicious food and friendly service. Very quick service and we waited less than 5 minutes for the food. It was already there. Hot and SO DELICIOUS. Great restaurant. Delicious food. Luxury attention. We stayed at the Ameron Hotel for a weekend and came for both dinner and lunch there. Good value for money. Generous portions. Good Bavarian seasoning. Each and every one of their workers is extremely friendly and does an excellent job. When we return to the area we will visit them again.

Nice inn, clean and nicely decorated. Fast and friendly service. The food selection is as expected. My salad with baked meat was very tasty. The prices weren't cheap - but now it costs more everywhere.

Cheese fondue was good. Temperature in the room was no more than 18 degrees if at all. Waiters in fleece, guests sat at the table freezing in their jackets...it's a shame

Totally a tourist rip-off. Service subpar, food out of the box. Separate invoice only possible in cash, card is only accepted when paying together! An impudence! Anyone who knows my reviews knows that I always post pictures. It would be a waste of time!
