Had the white suagsges with pretzel excellent and had the Allgau pasture raised cattle steak. Was delicious. Tastes very different than steaks in Canada. And had blonde beer and unfiltered wheat beer, the unfiltered wheat beer is definitely the best

The dining room was rather uninviting, cold, and uninvitingly furnished. The staff was friendly. We didn't enjoy the food; we left almost everything on our plates. We ordered roast beef with onions and Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle) and roast pork with potato dumplings and red cabbage. The Käsespätzle were very watery, and the cheese wasn't stringy. The dumplings tasted like they came from a packet, and the gravy tasted strongly of instant. The red cabbage was cold (our mistake; it was listed as a salad on the menu, which we overlooked). The food seemed to have only been microwaved—it was lukewarm. The Coke we ordered tasted like syrup. The total cost was €56. When our nearly full plates were cleared, no one even asked if we had enjoyed the meal. It's obvious, but they usually ask anyway. A real waste of money. We were looking forward to a delicious meal and were extremely disappointed. Despite the rating of less than 3.6 stars, we wanted to give the restaurant a chance and were extremely annoyed with ourselves.

We enjoyed delicious sausage salad and very tasty goulash soup. We attended a big event the night before – a Bavarian evening – everything was great 👏🏻 Superbly organized, fast, and very tasty.

The ambiance was typically Bavarian, but unfortunately it was freezing cold. Some guests were wearing jackets, which somewhat dampened the coziness. The food was rather mediocre: the Obatzda (traditional Bavarian sausage) and Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle) were quite tasty, while the pretzels were cheap baked goods. The schnitzel was small, tough, and of questionable quality. Unfortunately, the waitress didn't even ask if everything was okay. Overall, it was rather disappointing—there are certainly much better places for Bavarian cuisine.

A very good meal and a really great crème brûlée!

The drinks we ordered were good. We had a “Schorle” and some basic beers. The restaurant was not too far from a lovely lake which we visited after. The meals were Okay, very standard, basic Bavarian/Austrian dishes. We had half a chicken, sausages and fries as well as some pretzels. It was a very hot summer day and the dishes were all quite dry (but maybe that’s just how it is made). Generally I’m not the biggest fan of such low quality meals. The only thing I absolutely disliked was the incredibly rude and aggressive behaviour of the waitress. She was acceptably friendly to us as we waited patiently in the sun outside until she made time to show us a table. But another group of rather elderly visitors that (for very obvious reasons couldn’t sit outside in the direct sun) weren’t so lucky. She told them on their request to please be able to sit inside to “either organise her more staff or go and leave”. The tone was so rude and aggressive it was a-shaming, even for bystanders. The whole region seems to be extremely rough. And hence it’s simply unbelievable why such people choose hospitality as their field of profession. Later the same waitress got into arguments with other guests for absolutely no reason. As a patron this kind of toxic environment is not pleasant to watch. We did the whole visit the castle and have dinner there once due to visiting friends but lucky we won’t ever have to come again.

For a quick lunch break, the food was perfectly fine. The service was friendly but a bit hectic, even though the restaurant wasn't busy.

I ate at this restaurant on my way back from visiting Neuschwanstein Castle. The waiter, who I think is Asian (sorry if I'm wrong), was very kind to me, as I don't speak any German or English, and I was able to enjoy my meal in a pleasant atmosphere. Thank you very much! The food was served quickly and very delicious.

The schnitzel was very tough qnd not much flavor. Worst I’ve ever had actually. And they wait staff acted like it was weird that I wanted cranberry sauce with it. When it’s our meal came out they didn’t bring the cranberry sauce out and we waited and waited because the staff was so busy they couldn’t check on us. I would not recommend this place myself.

Unfortunately disappointing – not what I imagine Bavarian coziness to be. I always try to see the positive side of every restaurant visit – but this time, I unfortunately failed. The atmosphere was anything but cozy: The rooms were more reminiscent of a train station concourse than a traditional Bavarian inn. The decor seemed unloved, and the decorations consisted mostly of plastic flowers – overall, unfortunately, neither inviting nor harmonious. The staff didn't seem particularly committed either – more indifferent than attentive. The disappointing impression continued with the food: It tasted of convenience food, lacked freshness, and was presented without love. In short: Unfortunately, nothing was quite right – neither the ambiance nor the service nor the cuisine. It's a real shame, because especially in a region with so much culinary potential, you expect more. To me, the whole thing seemed like a classic tourist rip-off.

[Roasted Chicken, Potato and Cucumber Salad, Apple Cider] They said it would take half an hour, but it didn't take that long. The chicken skin was crispy and delicious. The potatoes were seasoned with vinegar, but just the right amount. The apple cider tasted just as I expected.

I came here for dinner after visiting the Mary’s bridge in the evening. It’s part of Ameron complex. Outside terrace had good vibes. Serving staff was very friendly. I enjoyed delicious pork fillets.

We were stopping at this restaurant for a quick lunch after visit Neuschwanstein castle. Everything was decent, including the meal and friendliness of restaurant staff.

We've been here twice, and we've always had a great time. I have to say the beer—we ordered the dark one—was delicious! Really good. A quiet place where you can drink and chat in peace. The food is good too; the ice cream at €2 a scoop was just what you need to finish off a snack!

If the weather is nice, go outside on the terrace. If it's already cold or during a time other than summer, go inside. The place is very nice, the food is plentiful and delicious. The menu is extensive, and the prices aren't as high as you might expect. The atmosphere is great and relaxed... there are also a lot of tourists like us, but locals also come to eat here.

There's outdoor seating. The indoor seating leading to the beer garden entrance smelled quite smoky. The restaurant is quite noisy indoors, so if you prefer a quiet meal, opt for the outdoor seating. Personally, I found it pleasant, as the loud children were less noticeable. We ordered a salad. The catfish was lightly seasoned and healthy (the portion was small, suitable for an eight-year-old to finish. Today, it came with a small piece of beef tomato, flanked by boiled or steamed baby potatoes, and a base of shredded carrots and cabbage). The horseradish sauce was also bland, perhaps because the child didn't mention it. The roast beef (the person who ordered it said it was delicious) was also included. The salad was average, slightly acidic but just right. The croutons weren't burnt, and the spices were evenly distributed. I wonder if it's homemade. This was the first time I've had a beer with a distinctly bitter taste; I might try the Dunkel. The service was slow, and you need to be quick to get it yourself. I indicated three times that the bill wasn't coming. I happened to see the wrong dish arrive. The customer who had received it first had their fork almost dropped when they took it up to exchange it. Luckily, it wasn't ours.

To round off the day, our journey took us to the Schloss Bräustüberl. Excellent food at reasonable prices with very polite, cheerful, and courteous Croatian staff.

First of all, I can't understand some of the negative reviews. I was here with my sweetheart after a visit to Neuschwanstein Castle, and we enjoyed a delicious Kaltenberger Schlosskeller wine and a very (!!!) tasty Obatzda (traditional Austrian cheese) in a beautiful setting and in perfect weather. The Obatzda was particularly exquisite, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. A very friendly and attentive waiter rounded off the experience. Overall, highly recommended, and I'd love to come back.

Sinister, no language efforts, long live Europe, salty dishes at will and bottled water at 8 € each, and to finish they don't take credit cards! Long live black money, run away, friendly advice!

Well located and reasonable food and drink selection

Nice atmosphere. Portions are small for what you pay (€26,50 for the Zwiebelrostbraten - onion roast beef with gravy and cheese spaetzle) The meat portion was very small and a bit tough, and it was covered by the spätzle, making it hard to notice at first. Friendly staff.

We are super happy with both the food and the service! The food was super, super delicious: Bavarian, delicious, and truly top-notch in taste. We particularly enjoyed the Kaiserschmarren: it was the best of our lives! It was probably because it was caramelized, but we've never tasted anything as delicious. Overall, the food was always a 10/10, and the Kaiserschmarren was truly a 100/10!!! Please try it or share it, you'll love it! The staff were very polite and efficient. The food was a bitter disappointment – lackluster in taste and of poor quality. There were hairs in the dish, which is absolutely unacceptable. The service was neither professional nor friendly: our complaint was met with only smiles and nods, without any apology or solution. This behavior demonstrates a lack of respect for the guests. I would not recommend this restaurant at all.

Incredibly bad – absolutely not recommended! There were hairs in two out of four dishes. A disgusting outrage! The food tasted awful, and the portions were outrageous. When we pointed out the problems to the staff, there was neither an apology nor any kind of response – pure ignorance! I've never experienced anything like this before. Anyone who values hygiene, taste, and customer service should definitely avoid this restaurant!

Unfortunately, my visit to this restaurant did not meet my expectations at all. Despite low occupancy and a sufficient number of available tables, the quality of service left much to be desired. The appetizer was served at the same time as the main course, water glasses were not provided, and the table was unfortunately not cleaned when we were seated. The main course was particularly disappointing: instead of a medium-rare steak, we were served a thoroughly cooked, dry piece of meat – a clear contradiction to what we ordered. Under these circumstances, I currently see no reason to visit this restaurant again. Nevertheless, I wish the team all the best and hope for a fundamental improvement in their service concept and a more precise and meticulous approach from the kitchen.

Amazing. We tucked in here to avoid the rain and were so glad we found it. The cabbage rolls, fried apple pancakes and goulash were all fantastic. My 8 year old is picky and said it was the best thing she's ever had! Highly recommend if you visit Neuschwanstein.

Absolutely typical, historic place. Welcoming. Excellent service: friendly, punctual, fast, and attentive. We had soup for two, two absolutely typical main courses (meat and fish with sides), and a dessert for two. Carefully presented, generous portions. A 10 out of 10 for the Kaiserschmarrn!

A recommended place for a quick German-style meal between visits to the castles in the area.

I had non-alcoholic beer, Dunkel, Dunkel lager, and pancakes. The pancakes were very sweet and delicious. A glass of beer quenched my thirst. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the bathroom was clean and nice.

The service is very good, but the creamed schnitzel was a real disappointment. The sauce tasted like a ready-made sauce. The goat cheese salad, however, was excellent. Unfortunately, the kitchen is only open until 8 p.m.

Not recommended; unfortunately, this restaurant only caters to day-trippers! The food arrived after 8 minutes, lukewarm, warmed up by the kitchen, which delivers each meal in batches! After that, we waited in vain for the waitress. Portion size? A man really needs two main courses to feel full! The waitress refused to give the change three times. The 20-year-old, dusty plastic flowers around the pillars don't exactly enhance the ambiance. As guests of the Ameron, we were very disappointed!

We were served by a lady named Elisabeth, who was at the outdoor patio counter. As customers, we had an issue with our food, and when I approached her to let her know, she laughed in my face. Not only that, she was extremely rude and offered no help at all. Zero stars for Elizabeth — I truly hope she learns how to treat customers with more respect.

The location is beautiful, between Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein. The main courses were quite good; we had a salad, roast beef with onions, and the cabbage fritters (I was really pleasantly surprised by these, like sauerkraut rolls). We then ordered the Kaiserschmarrn, which arrived in five minutes and was really not tasty; the sauce was far too sweet and the pancakes were too fatty. At €13.50, it's not worth it.

Great Bavarian beer garden with hearty Bavarian brewery food and excellent service. Due to a minor service error, the entire meal was even removed from the bill, and Kaiserschmarrn was offered as an apology. I've never experienced anything like that before, and I highly recommend it. 😀😀😀

If you like Bavarian food and atmosphere, this is the place for you. But you shouldn't have particularly high expectations when it comes to the food; our meal was on the table less than 10 minutes after ordering. When visiting Neuschwanstein Castle don’t forget about eating authentic German food! The food was fantastic and Soufiane was a wonderful waiter who was very accommodating in explaining their menu and options! The beer was served cold in an extra large glass stein. It tasted so good! Our experience was very pleasant!

Unfortunately, the food here wasn't particularly good. The roast pork was served with red cabbage salad, which wasn't on the menu.

So much could have been done with this beautiful place...unfortunately, it's just a place to rip tourists off. The service is fast, so you're out of there as quickly as possible. A Kaiserschmarrn that takes five minutes to make can't be the standard of good food. It's a shame that the lovely trip had to end with such poor food.

The staff was friendly overall, though it took a while to find someone when we were ready to pay. The toilets were clean, and the overall atmosphere was nice and relaxed. Accessibility in the area is generally a bit tricky, including at the restaurant. Wheelchair users can find a place to sit, but getting around isn’t the easiest. Don’t forget to tip—it’s customary here and appreciated by the staff. All in all, a good place to take a break and enjoy a meal during your castle visit! 🍻🥨

Especially in such a special location, we would have expected a bit more. The atmosphere is quaint and fits perfectly with the surroundings – perfectly fine for a relaxed dinner after a day filled with castle romance. The naturally cloudy cellar beer was very tasty. In conclusion: Nice place with great service, but the food still has room for improvement.

Never again! Unfriendly service ever! We went to the beer garden with the family in the late afternoon on Mother's Day. There was very little going on, probably no one wanted to wait that long. The young waiter came and we ordered our drinks and food. After an eternity, the appetizer arrived! But not the drinks! We complained, the waiter then said it wasn't his fault, it was the counter's fault." We've never heard such a lazy excuse before.. Very unfriendly young man, finally another waitress brought the drinks with starters and also with main courses at the same time. Of course everything got cold straight away, the people there have no idea about the service! Never again!

Price performance really underground! Service is perfectly fine, but the portion sizes are really a joke for the price and so is the quality. It's basically all ready-made meals, nothing homemade. No matter whether the dumplings, spaetzle, or the schnitzel, the fries and the sauce. That might be enough for a few Asian tourists, but anyone who has ever eaten a good pork beard knows that this is really the last line of defense.

Pleasantly surprised by a delicious lunch. We ordered the spaetzle, schnitzel, and the Filetgeschnetzeltes vom Schwein...all delicious. But the best part was the Kaiserschmarrn! This was the best spaetzle and Kaiserschmarrn we had on our 2-week vacation to Germany and Switzerland.

After 45 minutes of waiting when asked, it turned out that the order had been forgotten. Afterwards we received everything at once (starter and main course). The back door doesn't close - there's a draft in the entire restaurant.

Recommend the restaurant in Hohenschwangau. Matching atmosphere to the castles. Cabbage donuts are sensational. Crust from roast pork as well, but meat could be more tender.

Correct Barbara food. We ordered a sausage mix + 2 knuckles + snitchel with a jug of beer and 3 waters for 4 people. The correct food, without lights or shadows. Typical place to take a walk around the lake and eat without much problem finding a place.

They welcomed us by saying that we should vacate the table in half an hour. They took away the dishes that we were still finishing (and the half hour had not yet passed). Mediocre food. But the location makes them work regardless...
