As hotel guests, we dined at the Schloss Bräustüberl Hohenschwangau in the evening. The service was truly top-notch – very friendly, attentive, and quick, even when the place was full. The food itself was okay, but you can tell the concept is geared more toward day trippers: solid home-style cooking, but with room for improvement in terms of taste and quality. Especially in such a special location, we would have expected a bit more. The atmosphere is quaint and fits perfectly with the surroundings – perfectly fine for a relaxed dinner after a day filled with castle romance. The naturally cloudy cellar beer was very tasty. Conclusion: Nice place with great service, but the food still has room for improvement.

If you’re visiting Neuschwanstein or Hohenschwangau Castles, this is probably where you’ll end up eating—and it’s a solid choice! 🏰🍽️ You can sit inside the beautiful historic building or outside and enjoy the sun. We went for lunch and had bratwurst and pork fillet slices with mushroom sauce—both were delicious. For dessert, we shared Kaiserschmarrn (chopped pancakes) with applesauce and ice cream. Yum! 😋 Portions are on the smaller side, so you might want to order more than one dish if you’re really hungry. Prices are on the expensive side, but that’s expected in a touristy spot like this. The staff was friendly overall, though it took a while to find someone when we were ready to pay. The toilets were clean, and the overall atmosphere was nice and relaxed. Accessibility in the area is generally a bit tricky, including at the restaurant. Wheelchair users can find a place to sit, but getting around isn’t the easiest. Don’t forget to tip—it’s customary here and appreciated by the staff. All in all, a good place to take a break and enjoy a meal during your castle visit! 🍻🥨

Never again! Unfriendly service ever! We went to the beer garden with the family in the late afternoon on Mother's Day. There was very little going on, probably no one wanted to wait that long. The young waiter came and we ordered our drinks and food. After an eternity, the appetizer arrived! But not the drinks! We complained, the waiter then said it wasn't his fault, it was the counter's fault." We've never heard such a lazy excuse before.. Very unfriendly young man, finally another waitress brought the drinks with starters and also with main courses at the same time. Of course everything got cold straight away, the people there have no idea about the service! Never again!

Alles tiptop, Service was really fast, attentive, and friendly even though the Biergarten was full of guests for lunch. Thank you very much for the great lunch experience.

Price performance really underground! Service is perfectly fine, but the portion sizes are really a joke for the price and so is the quality. It's basically all ready-made meals, nothing homemade. No matter whether the dumplings, spaetzle, or the schnitzel, the fries and the sauce. That might be enough for a few Asian tourists, but anyone who has ever eaten a good pork beard knows that this is really the last line of defense.

The food was very very delicious! We had soups, main dish and desert. The staff was nice and friendly and the weather was beautiful, so we were sitting in the biergarten. The restaurant is Very close to the lake. We can Highly recommend it 🙂

Pleasantly surprised by a delicious lunch. We ordered the spaetzle, schnitzel, and the Filetgeschnetzeltes vom Schwein...all delicious. But the best part was the Kaiserschmarrn! This was the best spaetzle and Kaiserschmarrn we had on our 2-week vacation to Germany and Switzerland.

Recommend the restaurant in Hohenschwangau. Matching atmosphere to the castles. Cabbage donuts are sensational. Crust from roast pork as well, but meat could be more tender.

After 45 minutes of waiting when asked, it turned out that the order had been forgotten. Afterwards we received everything at once (starter and main course). The back door doesn't close - there's a draft in the entire restaurant.

Unfortunately, the location is probably enough to find guests. The onion roast would have fit on a starter plate. Salad was completely missing. And the schnitzel was tough and dry. Since the atmosphere inside was more like a train station - get out quickly!

Correct Barbara food. We ordered a sausage mix + 2 knuckles + snitchel with a jug of beer and 3 waters for 4 people. The correct food, without lights or shadows. Typical place to take a walk around the lake and eat without much problem finding a place.

They welcomed us by saying that we should vacate the table in half an hour. They took away the dishes that we were still finishing (and the half hour had not yet passed). Mediocre food. But the location makes them work regardless...

I ate pork fillet with mushrooms and Rosti which was not bad, but the waitress who served us at the beginning, table 91, the only one without a name tag and dressed in a garnet red costume, ruined the lunch. Rude and ignorant she shouted at us that she couldn't change the orders to our liking just because she didn't understand what beer we wanted. She was replaced by a nicer one, but when I went to pay the bill she showed up again and still treated me badly because I didn't wait for her convenience.

Arriving at 6.30pm and the place not full, as soon as possible we order a single dish each which arrives at 7.50pm. As soon as we finished eating it, we asked to order a dessert, which for us was the main attraction, but they told us that in the meantime the kitchen had closed. They didn't warn us before. The food that arrived was acceptable and in generous portions. But without sweetness, it must be said, a bitter taste remains in the mouth. It must be said that as an apology they did not charge us for the drinks

The service at Schloss Bräustüberl Hohenschwangau was very friendly and attentive - praise for that. Unfortunately the food was not convincing. I ordered the carrot and ginger soup, which unfortunately tasted sour, as if it wasn't fresh. A lot of salt was used to mask the taste. I complained to the waiter in a friendly manner and he promised to pass the feedback on to the kitchen - unfortunately nothing else happened. We had to pay the full bill, which I thought was a shame because I couldn't eat the soup and left disappointed. My husband was happy with the half chicken with potato salad – at least it was a bright spot. Overall, unfortunately, it wasn't a recommendable visit for me.

Visited here over Easter weekend with my sister. Sat outside in the garden as the weather was beautiful. Both ordered vegetarian dishes. The waitress was friendly. Lovely food (although a little bit more expensive but thats expected considering the location)

No recommendation. If only we had read the reviews here beforehand... We went to the beer garden for dinner. Most of the tables were free and so we sat nicely in the setting sun. Good conditions after a long day and looking forward to typical brewery food and a beer. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. I wanted a non-alcoholic wheat beer, an absolutely standard drink, but which was “off”. For dinner we ordered a Bavarian sausage salad with pretzel for 15 euros, a bratwurst with potato salad (15 euros) and pork fillet tips with rösti in champion cream (25 euros). The food came within 10 minutes, which we could also observe at other tables. Because of this, everyone can think about the preparation themselves. But in the end it's the result that decides and initially it's clear that the fillet tips came out quite manageable in a small pan. The sausage salad also had more of an appetizer character in terms of size. There was also a terribly dry pretzel. I have never received such a bad pretzel in a brewery. At least the sausage salad tasted good and the salad dressing had just the right acidity. The most expensive dish was criticized not only for the quantity but also for the quality. As you can see in the picture, the rösti were not golden yellow, but so brown in some places that they tasted almost “burnt”. At least I doubt that they were homemade. The sauce also left something to be desired as it was rather watery. The food would have been halfway acceptable for 15 euros, but not for 25 euros. The third dish was the most convincing. The bratwurst was good and the potato salad tended to be too. However, it was ice cold and couldn't really develop its taste. The short serving time was noticeable here too. We paid over 70 euros for 3 meals and 3 drinks. The price/performance ratio wasn't good at all according to our taste, which is why we can't recommend this location.

A good option for before or after having climbed the castle. The food is very tasty (but a bit spicy <many spices>), so you should be sure it is what you are ordering. The carrot soup with ginger was exceptionally good and with the cold weather...it tastes better. Highly recommended place as it serves 100% authentic German food.

Unfortunately we had to move on as we wanted to have dinner here after our hike. The menu only had pork and there was only 1 vegetarian dish. If you have an allergy to pork, you're lost here. It's a shame, it's really nice to sit here. And considering we were here during the Easter holidays there wasn't much going on.

This restaurant is absolutely not recommended. All finished goods. Tourist trap. Beer tasted underground, it was supposed to be King Ludwig, but it didn't taste like it, who knows, who knows...

Waited 20 minutes. The waitress ignored us. We got up and left. 4 adults sat in the middle of the room and the entire beer garden was half empty. Not recommended!

Can't really recommend. We went around 7pm during April. A third of the tables were occupied but only one waitress was helping customers. A second person helped but was mostly behind the bar. When we entered a sign told us to wait. Four more groups of people entered before someone finally came and told us to just pick any spot. We did and again for a long time nothing happened. Meanwhile the door was constantly open and it was super cold in the place. When we finally ordered the waiter forgot the water. Food came quite quickly but was not amazing. I had some Schweine Geschnetzeltes which was rather watery-salty and lacked a good full taste. Others at my table had similar impressions. Not super bad but also not really great. When we asked to pay the waiter again took a long time and helped other customers in between that were complaining about something they received.

Food was nice, however felt unwelcome and rushed despite being very empty. Only ~20% of indoor seating was being used. When our food came I asked if we could instead take our places to sit outside and the waitress immediately responded that she had just given away the last table, but after we left ~40min later we saw that there were 20-30 free outdoor seating areas. Our plates were taken very swiftly even though we hadn’t finished eating. No tap water and very overpriced bottled water as the only alternative (slightly more expensive than price of beer) and despite the lack of service we were explicitly asked for a tip which was quite uncomfortable.

Very nice waitresses. Food was very tasty. Can't understand some of the bad reviews. Especially when it comes to price. You can read it beforehand on the menu or on the menu on the notice board in front of the restaurant. We'd love to come back.

Food was good. Extra sauce for the roast pork came immediately. Rhubarb spritzer wasn't that good, so we didn't have to pay.

Ga hier niet eten. Geen traditioneel lekkere gerechten. Thuis kun je beter en lekkerder eten maken. Bediening was ook niet geweldig. Voor een drankje best prima, maar alles ingesteld op hordes toeristen.

Ambiance is great! Good selection of food, unfortunately service is not that great, prices are too high, bottled water 8€, we were also charged a 'change fee' because we chose spaetzle instead of dumpling! We were not informed about this when ordering. The order also came wrong and too late!!! Two adults, two children €120 lunch, we won't go there again!

If you like Bavarian food and ambience, this is the place for you. But you shouldn't have very high expectations when it comes to the food, our food was on the table after ordering in less than 10 minutes. The service was really top and very friendly, we also had nice entertainment from a small orchestra.

Very friendly little restaurant with a very warm welcome. We ended up there following a breakdown in our vehicle. They looked for pliers and welcomed and helped us as best they could. We were at Ameron Spa which is wonderful. Schloss Bräustüberl is a beer 🍺 house, typical German beer house with nice and friendly stuff… the “weiss Bier” you cannot lose! We don’t have a lot of options to eat but all of them are great! We went two nights and definitely will go back to the hotel and to Schloss Bräustüberl! Ivan is a waiter/ manager that is also great interecting guy! Thank you 🍻! The ambiance is really cozy too🥰

The menu says,, Main courses to fill you up.,, I ordered duck. I would say a maximum of 100g. For me it's a children's portion. But 25 euros for that? Price performance weak

Definitely overpriced. Fried onions in Käsespätzle are dry like paper. Several dishes were not available, and the waiters looked overworked. But of course… when you in a touristy place and are guaranteed to have visitors, why bother about quality? Better go eat in Füssen if you can.

The food was good. The portions normal. Unfortunately, the room is not particularly well heated and some people are sitting at the table wearing winter jackets. In addition, the waitress was uneasy and there were one or two facial expressions when people wanted to pay separately. I'll be spending my money elsewhere in the coming days.

The food was good but nothing special. The portions are reasonable. The ambience doesn't really make you feel comfortable, it's very cold. At the end when we wanted to pay they asked for separate bills. Eyes were rolled at first. After a lot of back and forth it was somehow possible. I would not recommend this restaurant.

Tourist trap! Creamy chanterelles are champions with knorr packets and the dumpling is also out of the packet. Too little and too expensive for just under €20. Obatzta was ok, but too expensive for €10. The trout fillet was very, very small and measly for €25, but the taste of the dish was good. Service was good at first because everything was empty, but in the end it was very mushy and intrusive - we had to reorder and actively asked for a tip. The homemade lemonade was actually very good. The Executive Assistant Manager's answer is untrue! The same complaints have been piling up in the reviews for years, nothing is tried or taken seriously here. Conclusion: 65€ and we went straight to the next restaurant, tourist trap, means once and never again

The restaurant was exceptionally good. Food is super tasty and fresh. Friendly service. Great random stop for a meal which made our day.

This evening we ate at the Bräustüberl for the third time and it was always very good. The service staff are very friendly and super attentive. The food comes quickly and tastes very good, the portions are appropriate, we were always full. The ambience is great. What could be improved are: - an automatic door closer as unfortunately many guests are unable to close the door behind them when entering. The staff does this very quickly, but it's not that nice to sit at the door, especially in winter. - Renewing or installing sealing tape in the window frame would also be great, as it drafts a lot when you sit with your back in the window. - Candles on the tables would be great. This way you would have a little more light at the tables without ruining the beautiful, rustic atmosphere. Of course, it may be that things cannot be implemented due to monument protection. We will definitely spend our last evenings in the Bräustüberl because we feel completely comfortable here 😃👍🏼

Service was very good and friendly. We were welcomed straight away and taken to a table. And it was very surprising that many of the tables were free and that the large hall made us feel like we were in a train station. We had the “Wiener Style” schnitzel and the bratwurst with potatoes. Unfortunately, the schnitzel wasn't really a “Viennese style” schnitzel, but rather tasted like one Imitation snack. The fries were frozen food including ketchup and mayo from the bag. Not good food for €19.50, I can get it in the snack bar around the corner for a maximum of €10. The bratwurst tasted okay, but it didn't match the price and was very salty. Overall, a very poor experience for such a beautiful setting.

This is a quintessential German beer hall. Long tables, high arch ceilings, good beer, and good food. The service is friendly and prompt. It was a great stop for a meal during our visit to Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau.

When we arrived the place was packed but within minutes the staff were able to find us a table. The food is not bad, reasonably priced, and the staff is attentive.

We were in Hohenschwangau at the weekend and wanted to eat at the Bräustübel. We came in and there were almost 1/3 of the tables occupied, some with only 2 people. We were asked if we had reserved, and when we said no we were very rudely told that there would be no space available that evening. Even if it is, you could still be friendly. We then went to the Müller restaurant and can only warmly recommend it.

Eating in a cold train station is the closest thing to it. Service was quite clumsy, just like in a hotel. Coziness = 0. Everyone sat at the table wearing winter jackets. Why does it have to be like that??? Food was ok. Probably the best thing you can get for lunch in town. But the bar is also set very low! Pretzels were frozen instead of from the bakery. Why?? The hotel gets some from the bakery anyway, so why not the restaurant too?

Service is awful… I was waiting for my pre-order more than 1 hour. We ordered in advance! The meal is disgusting… DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Update: Had to deduct one star from 2 for the outrageous response to my review. The insinuation that I feel the need to write bad reviews from multiple accounts just because another comment that day was bad is really the height of it. NEVER AGAIN! A rather disappointing experience... The beer (wheat beer) didn't taste much at night, but the AMERON lemonade was very good. The starter was quite good, salad dressing tasted good, but was probably something ready-made. The “cream mushrooms” were mushrooms in a sauce from the ready-made package. The trout tasted very good, but the portion for 25€??? The waitress never asked if the food was good or not. When we politely asked her when we were paying that the food wasn't good or enough, she probably got too stupid because she just left without saying a word and rolling her eyes. So the food from the pictures wasn't worth €65. Doesn't have to happen again.

A large pillared hall with large tables. It's clocky there. With friendly service and you won't be ripped off with the prices despite the perfect location. 0.5 drink is €5.

1 star because zero not possible I arrived with my wife while another couple was leaving, when asked to the waiter he told us that we have to wait. In the meanwhile another client arrived and took a place, another couple arrived after us and the same waiter give them place in front of us. It is a cold weather outside but after 20 min we preferred to leave that colder welcome, I took the picture just to remember to not come back
