Schäfer Stuben in Bad Hindelang

We were very surprised by this small but quaint restaurant on our first visit. The owner was very friendly and witty. The schnitzel (Tuesday is schnitzel day, but other dishes are also available) was delicious, as were the side dishes. Our first visit earned us 5 stars in all categories. Our second, which followed shortly after, lost a small star for ambience, as we were given a spot in a tent (despite having made a reservation). It was nicely furnished and warm (gas), but it was a bit drafty.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We were absolutely thrilled! The food was incredibly delicious – we hadn't expected it to be so, simply magnificent. Everything was fresh, lovingly prepared, and tasted fantastic. The service was super warm, humorous, and very attentive – you simply feel welcome here. What's particularly great: The host, Nicki Kullmann, a well-known singer and entertainer, creates a truly wonderful atmosphere with his charming manner and good humor. A thoroughly successful evening – we'll definitely be back!

We were able to experience the kitchen battle today... A sensational evening with warm-hearted hosts, delicious food, and a cozy atmosphere. We arrived as guests and left feeling like friends. Never experienced such warmth. 🥰 Thanks to "Marcus mit C" for the pumpkin inspiration. We're excited to see the new kitchen ambiance. We'll be back!!!

We already knew the Schäferstuben from our last vacation in Vorderhindelang. Back then, I was really happy because the fantastic chef conjured up gluten-free cheese spaetzle for me. We also received useful tips on how to bake bread that's almost gluten-free by letting the dough rise for a long time. This time, we happened to happen upon schnitzel day (Tuesday) and once again enjoyed a delicious and high-quality meal – with cherry schnapps and Willi for "dessert." The hosts themselves provide very friendly, attentive service. We felt very comfortable!

A very cozy restaurant with a relaxed, pleasant atmosphere – you feel like you're in the living room of a good friend. The food is fresh, lovingly prepared, and all homemade; even the burger buns are baked in-house. It was especially nice that the chef personally came by and introduced himself. The service is excellent: very attentive, warm, and humorous, with a friendly atmosphere among the team. Excellent value for money. We felt completely at home and would gladly return – highly recommended!

We were there with two adults and four children. Without asking, we were given four coloring pages and pencil cases, and there's a play area next to the terrace. You can really tell that children are welcome there. The children's meals included lollipops. The food tasted great and was homemade. Some of the children didn't have enough, but that also depends on their appetite. We also ordered a salad. We were very satisfied there, and the people were incredibly nice.

The best restaurant I've ever been to. Why? A small, manageable menu, some of which is available daily, and a daily special, like Tuesday's schnitzel day, but the freshness is exactly what you'd expect. You order schnitzel, and a moment later you hear the schnitzel being pounded. Breading is as bad as it gets. The taste is top-notch. Decor: Great, cozy. Prices: Not a single piece overpriced, just average. Service: Friendly, unobtrusive, and prompt. Portions: Let me put it this way: A hungry man will be absolutely full from the main courses. Have I ever experienced this combination in my 29 years? Unfortunately not. This is the ideal way one would want to eat out (actually, that's how restaurants should (always) be, even if in most cases it's unfortunately very far away from it). When I'm in the area again, I hope it works out and I can eat there again. I hope you can continue this and keep your concept the same. Thank you for being there!

We didn't have a reservation, but even though it was full, they still managed to find us two spots. The food was excellent. The host and hostess are very cheerful and know their business. You'd want to be served like that everywhere you go. It's also great that you can pay by card instead of cash. Fantastic!

We had a fantastic wedding reception at the Schäfer Stuben—Sonja, Nici, and Marcus are the perfect hosts and organizers. After the delicious kitchen battle, the cozy room transformed into a party den, and we lost track of time. Nici has a fantastic voice, "thank you!" Our guests' unanimous opinion: a perfect, successful wedding party! We will never forget this day! Thank you all so much, keep up the good work, we'd love to come back. A fun-loving proprietor with a varied concept! The food was consistently delicious, except for the tiramisu, which lacked a bit of sweetness for my taste. The service is impeccable. You can't do anything about the infantile grannies at the next table. If you're hungry, you'll probably leave a bit more at Schäfer Stuben, as the portions aren't large. We're not big eaters, but we had to order dessert (despite the starter) to fill us up. I can actually mark that in red on my calendar... aka, it only happens once in a blue moon. Otherwise, I highly recommend it.

Incredibly nice and friendly. You receive a warm welcome, and everything feels so personal. There are even crystals in the water. The bread is handmade from a culture that's been around for 125 years. Truly something special. The view is fantastic. There are lots of little helpers in the restroom.

We spent an absolutely fantastic evening at the Schäfer Stuben: From a simple reservation, to a very good, delicious meal (Fridays are burger day), to very friendly, extremely attentive service, to a very convivial evening – we felt very welcome. An absolute recommendation!

If you're looking for a top place to go out, this is the place! Great food from a small kitchen with a manageable menu and themed nights. Reservations might be a good idea, as it's quite busy. The chef and the entire staff are very accommodating and complete the experience. An absolutely feel-good place; we'd love to come back and are already looking forward to it. Anlässlich meines Geburtstages reservierte ich einen Tisch in den Schäfer Stuben per eMail. Die prompte Bestätigung ließ nicht lange auf sich warten und die Spannung stieg, da ich bezüglich der vielen (zu guten ?) positiven Bewertungen doch etwas skeptisch war ! An besagtem Abend wurden wir vom gesamten Team der Schäfer Stuben sehr herzlich begrüßt und es schien schon eine sehr familiäre Stimmung unter den schon anwesenden Gästen bei unserer Ankunft zu herrschen. Schnell waren wir durch Nikki's Witz und Charme selbst integriert und der Abend konnte beginnen !!! Es war ein Dienstag und dienstags ist in den Schäfer Stuben Schnitzeltag. Mein Freund als "der Schnitzel-Kritiker schlechthin" urteilte: "Ich habe noch nie ein so zartes Schnitzel gegessen !" - Punkt !!! Ich hatte einen Zwiebelrostbraten, der auch jeden Cent wert war und meine Schwester war von ihrem Grillsteak ebenso positiv angetan. Alles in allem also essenstechnisch auf absolut hohem Niveau ! Erwähnenswert ist daher auf jeden Fall Koch Markus, der uns diese tollen Sachen zubereitet hat und der noch nicht einmal gelernter Koch ist - aber die Liebe und Leidenschaft zum Kochen ist bei ihm absolut vorhanden, und ohne diese Eigenschaften wird auch ein gelernter Koch nicht derartige Qualität auf den Tisch bringen können. Was die Schäfer Stuben besonders macht, ist nicht nur das hervorragende Essen, sondern auch das "Entertainment" von Nikki - seine Frau Sonja konnten wir an diesem Abend ( außer beim Empfang) leider nicht mehr erleben, aber zwei Tage später waren wir wieder dort und konnten uns davon überzeugen, dass auch sie sehr professionell und nett mit ihrer Kundschaft umgeht. Nikki entertainte den späteren Abend mit tollen Gesangseinlagen und man merkte sofort, dass er sein Publikum "professionell im Griff" hat ... Alles in allem ein super schöner Geburtstagabend, den ich - dank des gesamten Schäfer Stuben-Teams so schnell nicht mehr vergessen werde. Vielen Dank dafür !!! Die Schäfer Stuben sind also selbst von einem "Vorab-Negativ-Kritiker" wie mir eine absolut Weiterempfehlung !!!

We called at short notice and luckily got a spot. We had very nice contact on the phone. You will also be warmly welcomed on site and treated very kindly. Our little daughter was also brought to the table with something to paint. Unfortunately, you don't get such great service everywhere anymore. The food was really good, I haven't had such a good burger in a long time. The burger buns are made here in-house and you can taste it too. So dessert was a children's ice cream with a surprise and that's true ;) . Thanks for the great evening, we felt really comfortable.

If you want to have a nice evening with an all-round carefree package, then make a reservation in the Schäfer Stuben. Great food, great service, great boss, great cook, great boss. We felt comfortable and will definitely come back.

Found it today by chance and tried it out straight away. We were super excited, the food was brilliant, the host couple was great, the chef did credit to his profession. The restaurant with a rustic atmosphere more than lives up to its name. The prices for the dishes are very moderate. We'll definitely be repeat offenders next week.

We went to the kitchen battle today and ate really well. It was a real party and I've never experienced anything like it. The atmosphere is so hospitable that you feel comfortable from the first minute. The food is prepared with a lot of love and a certain twist and the buffet was incredible - both in terms of selection and quality. We were there with our one-year-old son and everyone was so nice to him and took time for him even though the restaurant was full. The chef even conjured up a balloon dachshund for him - you couldn't get any more service than that. We will definitely be back and are already looking forward to the next kitchen battle with the great team.

Were there for the kitchen battle on Thursday. You can't praise the shop enough: from the chef who puts on a disco in the kitchen (that's where you get your food) to the friendly innkeepers who write HUGE about their hospitality and even praise themselves when necessary 😀. You have to have been there! Full and happy.

We were there on a Thursday evening for the "Kitchen Battle". We decided to do it spontaneously. It started with a warm family welcome. A place was quickly found. Very nice host/hostess. The food was great, the chef was very friendly and in a good mood. Drinks were very good and were refilled quickly. All in all we felt very comfortable and welcome.

Everything was perfect, the food, the drinks (the liverwurst schnapps is a definite recommendation) and the service. You immediately noticed that the innkeeper and the chef (Marcus) work there with heart. The children can paint and play, and 3 hours fly by.

A very cozy inn with super friendly service and an excellent chef. You'll be happy to come back here. I would happily recommend it.

Tolles Restaurant und das Essen auf sehr hohem Niveau. Regionales Fleisch und täglich andere Speisekarte. Nicht unbedingt traditionell, sondern abwechslungsreich. Ein kleines Geschmackswunder mit eigenen Kreationen. Sehr nette Leitung und offen für ein Pläuschen.

Waren zum 1. Mal in den Schäfer Stuben und haben uns schon geärgert nicht schon eher dort eingekehrt zu sein. Nette Gastgeber. Neben der regulären Speisekarte gibt es auch ein täglich wechselndes spezielles Angebot wie z.B. Küchenschlacht. Beim nächsten Mal immer wieder gern!

Wir haben nach unser standesamtlichen Trauung dort mit unseren Gästen gegessen und etwas gefeiert. Es war absolut großartig! Die Gastgeber waren besser als man es sich hätte wünschen können! Das Essen war komplett selfmade und absolut mehr als lecker! Wir hatten dort eine wunderbare Zeit und würden es immer wieder so machen ❤️

Eine super schöne Location, drinnen wie draußen lässt sich gemütlich bei Kaltgetränken sitzen. Das Essen ist hervorragend und für jeden Geschmack ist was dabei. Die Schäfer Kartoffeln sind ein Muss. Der Service ist freundlich und holt unsere rheinländische Art mit Frohnatur ab. Wir kommen ganz bestimmt wieder!
