We were in the Schäfer Stuben on our last evening. Even though we didn't have a reservation, we were warmly welcomed. You immediately felt at home after the welcome. The food and drink (Schäferschole) was very tasty 😋. The liverwurst schnapps was also a highlight. Greetings to the host. 😉 We will be happy to come back there next year.

One can argue about taste in terms of the interior and lighting concept, we didn't find it comfortable, and the background music was rather inappropriate and typical of radio. Food was ok in terms of price-performance ratio but not exceptional. Lovelessly seasoned fried potatoes that tasted primarily of fat with a good Wienerschnitzel. The salad dressing (caprese) of the side salad dominated the taste of the salad too much, and the selection of salads was also nothing appealingly special, unfortunately. The Pinot Gris also has to be from a very good winemaker at a price of 7.60 euros for 1 glass of 0.2, here, from Dr. Unfortunately, what was offered by Köhler was not a pleasure or highlight.

We got a table even at short notice! The only one in Oberjoch!! Very tasty food and very friendly service!! Absolutely recommended!!

Where do I start here? We wanted to celebrate a birthday here and unfortunately listened to a friend's recommendation. The atmosphere is not inviting. Menus are only available as coasters on the table, which gives more of a canteen atmosphere. However, the wine list is offered on an iPad, which is very complicated and difficult to use. Unfortunately, I have to say that the lighting in the restaurant is terrible. We're not yet 30 years old, but we had to use our cell phone flashlights to even be able to read our placemat. A single small bare bulb was all that provided the lighting. The quality of the meat was excellent - you really can't complain here. To our great disappointment, the only vegetarian dish that was available as a main course was served cold. However, there is no mention of this on the “menu”. Service unfortunately had major communication problems due to the language. Unfortunately, the table wasn't beautifully prepared either, which we would have expected for the price and had requested as a surprise in advance. A fire barrel burned constantly in front of the restaurant, the meaning of which we couldn't understand, because every time the front door was opened, the smell of smoke came in. Regarding the food, it should be noted that the scampi from the menu takes 45 minutes to prepare, which the waiter tried to explain to us. Not understandable to us, but good. There was another table occupied besides us, so the occupancy couldn't be the reason for the long waiting time. All in all, we had the impression that this restaurant was treated very neglectfully by the parent company Panoramahotel. A repeat visit is out of the question for us, but the Allgäu offers far better alternatives.
