SAXA Restaurant in Bad Sachsa

Very nice welcome, even as an individual. Fast and attentive service. The food was very tasty and plentiful. I was able to end my hiking days in the Harz with a first-class culinary experience. I'll be back.

What started as a very nice evening ended as a big disappointment. It is a popular restaurant because you cannot go to them without a reservation. And I wish them that very much. That's why we walked past the restaurant yesterday during a walk to make a reservation. That was no problem at all and we were able to arrive today at 6 p.m. We wanted to eat here sometime so we were happy that we could visit them before the end of our holiday. Once there we had a table with a large group, but that was no problem and it was very pleasant. The food was very tasty but perhaps a bit too much for Dutch standards, but that didn't spoil the fun. Things only went wrong when my girlfriend went to the toilet and one of the waitresses asked if everything was ready. I asked if I could still see the dessert menu, but that was not possible. Our time was up and we had to leave because the next guests were already waiting! The waitress said yes, if you reserve online you only have 2 hours. But I indicated that we walked in here yesterday to make a reservation, so we did not make a reservation online. When my girlfriend came back from the toilet, we had to pay immediately and left out the tip. We were able to leave the building with a poor apology and a comment that the online reservations were not yet working properly. Once outside, my girlfriend told me that we were not even there for 2 hours, but for an hour and a half. From 6:00 PM to 7:34 PM. I think it's a really big disappointment. The prices on the menu do not match the food bar concept with different food blocks. This is more of a restaurant where you should be able to sit and enjoy the whole evening and not run out of time after two hours or in our case after an hour and a half without even knowing it. I would have liked to leave a positive review, but that would have been unjustified in this case.

We had a nice meal there before the pub night, the food was very tasty and everything was fresh. The restaurant was very full, but this was not noticeable in the service or quality. We would be happy to come back

Quiet restaurant in the center of Bad Sachsa. Very large menu, so difficult to choose. Food tasted excellent, delicious meat and warm vegetables. Portions are generous, almost too much for us.

Excellent cuisine that leaves nothing to be desired. If you wait a little longer, the guest will receive the finest freshly prepared food. The service is attentive and overall the visit to SAXA is a culinary highlight of our vacation. Really highly recommended.

We tried the Bad Sachsa pan (small schnitzels of beef, pork and turkey with fried potatoes, mushroom cream sauce and vegetable pan as well as other sauce). Vegetables nice and firm to the bite, meat nice and juicy, fried potatoes with fried onions. A dream... Many thanks to the Bad Saxa Restaurant

In my opinion one of the better dining options in Bad Sachsa. Quality and friendliness are the focus here. This is the second time I have eaten here with my fiancée and each time we have been pleasantly surprised. The food is prepared with love and you can tell from the starter to the main course. The meat is perfectly prepared. And your plate is plenty full. Highly recommended if you stay overnight in the small Bad Sachsa

We came there 2 times during our 5 day holiday at Landal. Good, tasty food, in decent portions, with plenty of meat/fish so that you are properly full. Service fast and friendly. Child-friendly place.

The "Saxa" is a restaurant in the "heart" of the city. We were here for dinner. The drinks were quickly at the table and the order for the food was taken quickly. We each ordered a salad for the starter. The main courses were the " Saxa pan", the "pork fillet medallions" and a "trout fillet". Everything was excellently cooked, hot and attractively presented. The portions were noticeably large and justified the price. A big compliment to the service. We would love to come here to eat again.

The food was great, the Wiener Schnitzel was one of the best I've eaten so far. Service was also good. The only negative thing was that you couldn't pay with American Express, even though it was advertised at the entrance.

You definitely have to make a reservation here, otherwise you have no chance of getting a table. The food was good, but not outstanding.

We ate here with 2 adults and a child for 2 years. We were greeted very friendly and the little one was immediately offered a chair and meals were brought to the table. The food was very tasty and the portions were completely sufficient…. We will definitely come back to eat with you...

Inspired by the many good reviews, we tried this restaurant and were not disappointed. Very large and tasty portions, which are absolutely appropriate for the price and are served by the attentive and friendly team. Nothing works here without a reservation - no wonder given how popular it is. The cozy atmosphere inside and, when the weather is nice and warm, the outdoor terrace also invites you to linger. Conclusion: Everything was a success and a real recommendation in Bad Sachsa for people with a great hunger for delicious food.

Great restaurant! Unfortunately we had forgotten something and it was sent to us straight away. Great service! That was super sweet and thank you very much again for that! The food was very tasty and they were able to handle us as a group of 16 people really well. If we are in the Harz again, we would love to come back!

We had dinner there with the family yesterday and everyone was absolutely thrilled. Great card, there was something for everyone. The food was so plentiful that I couldn't fit any dessert. You should reserve in advance, otherwise it will be difficult to get a table.

We had dinner here for the first time today. We had pre-ordered a table for 4 by phone a week in advance, but they apparently didn't know anything about it on site. The restaurant was busy (Tuesday), so I was briefly worried that we would be allowed to leave again. The service person came 3 times and asked who we made the reservation with, whether it was a man or a woman, etc. ...that could also be made much more hospitable. You felt like a liar and asking questions didn't solve the problem. Ultimately we were assigned a table with a “roll of our eyes”. There were also a few tables available, which remained free during our stay or were occupied by walk-in customers. The menu is clear and the dishes are all very easy to read. The drinks came quickly and were fine, only the cola was barely carbonated and wasn't completely cold either. The starters came quickly, unfortunately the carpaccio was overloaded with oil-vinegar-mustard dressing and therefore extremely sour. I like it sour, but this was too much even for me. The meat was also so thin that it was sometimes difficult to scrape it off the plate. The main courses (schnitzel champi + veal steak) were very tasty and came quickly. We were tempted by mousse au chocolat, unfortunately the creme brulee was sold out shortly beforehand. The dessert was very tasty. Children's meals were good, value for money was reasonable. 125 € for 2x 3 courses and 2x 2 children's courses plus 5 drinks. The service staff were quick, friendly and attentive, without the fuss about the reservation it would have been 5 stars. We'll come back when we get the chance.

The food was okay, but nothing special. Meat was quite good, the side dishes were unfortunately frozen. What was really a shame, however, was that, contrary to the restaurant's "motto" - which is also printed on the menu - you didn't feel welcome at all. We made a reservation online, were seated by a very friendly waitress and then had to listen to the other waitress telling her off because we hadn't made a reservation. She then complained loudly to the chefs twice again, all within earshot. When she finally came to take the order and asked us if we had received a confirmation email, I pointed out to her that it wasn't very hospitable to behave like that. Unfortunately, the lady didn't react very well. It's a shame, we won't be able to visit again.

We were there in the evening as a larger family. The service was very friendly and quick from the start. The drinks came quickly and so did the starter soups. All soups were a poem and can only be recommended. The main courses came quickly and everyone came together. Everyone enjoyed it excellently. The wine was also good. After dessert we all went home happy. Keep it up.

Very tasty food (SAXA fish plate and SAXA grill pan)

We ate here with about 10 people and didn't have high expectations but were pleasantly surprised. The food all came at the same time, was visually appealing and tasted really excellent. From before to dessert. Meat and fish fried to perfection and everything else really delicious. In addition, attentive service and reasonable prices that I would even classify as inexpensive. We were all completely satisfied. Unfortunately I can rarely say this but I would recommend this restaurant without reservation. We will definitely come here again when we are in the area again. Keep it up. Anyone who likes to eat well will be happy here.

It was Christmas Day. Despite the restaurant being full, people asked if something else could be served. The food was very good and also something different.

Für mich persönlich das beste Restaurant mit großem Abstand in dieser Gegend. Das Essen ist einfach nur ein Schmaus für den Gaumen unglaublich lecker und das Personal ist total fleißig und sehr aufmerksam.

Ich war das erste im Saxa essen und bin positiv überrascht. Die Auswahl ist völlig ausreichend, was ich gegessen habe ( Putenmedaillons mit Pilzen und Bratkartoffeln) war sehr lecker. Die nette Dame im Service war freundlich. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Wir waren jetzt das dritte Mal dort zum essen und ich muss sagen " das Essen war super gut und super lecker" alles wird frisch zubereitet. Dieses Lokal kann ich nur weiter empfehlen 👍👍👍👍👍

Sehr gutes Essen. Lecker und immer frisch Zubereitet . Gemütliches modernes Ambiente. Freundliche Bedienung. Ich kann es nur empfehlen, wenn man gut Essen möchte. Wir sind öfter mal da. Unbedingt vorher ein Tisch reservieren, da es immer gut besucht ist.

Ich hatte den Großen Salatteller mit Schnitzelstreifen - da lag doch tatsächlich ein ganzes (!) in Streifen geschnittenes Schnitzel auf dem Salat! Ich hatte mit einigen Streifen gerechnet! Es war köstlich!! Die Portion dadurch allerdings echt groß! Die mit mir aßen, waren genauso begeistert, zB vom Tafelspitz oder den Bulgur - Knödeln oder der Rinderbrühe, die es als Vorspeise gab. Alles wirklich richtig lecker! Zum Abschluss hatte ich einen Espresso und eine Creme Brullée, ebenfalls richtig fein! Der Service top, alle Mitarbeiter sehr freundlich (und lustig, wir haben viel gelacht!) und schnell! Ich habe keine Sekunde dort bereut, es war ein wunderbarer Abend!

Wir haben mit Nachbarn hier gegessen. Die Gerichte waren sehr gut und ansprechend angerichtet, geschmacklich sehr gut. Die Servicemitarbeiterinnen und -mitarbeiter waren sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das SAXA ist sehr zu empfehlen, aber man sollte auf jeden Fall vorher reservieren.

Wir waren hier schon einmal, sehr gutes Essen, immer gut besucht (unbedingt reservieren). Vier Sterne...kommt daher, beim gestrigen Besuch habe ich von Reis zu Kroketten gewechselt, und es gab genau 6 Stück. Im Verhältnis zur Soße und Fleisch zu wenig. Meine Nachbestellung wurde leider vergessen, ich hatte bei Nachfrage ob alles ok aber schon die Kartoffeln meiner Frau übernommen, von daher habe ich es so belassen. Was aber besonders negativ auffiel, der Hauptgang wurde serviert, obwohl wir noch bei der Vorspeise waren. Das müsst ihr besser machen!!! Ansonsten generell tolles Essen in gemütlicher Atmosphäre.

Heute waren wir im SAXA essen. Gleich vorweg. Bitte vorher einen Tisch reservieren, das Lokal wird gut besucht. Wir wurden freundlich begrüßt und die Getränke bekamen wir auch recht schnell. Das Essen war wirklich gut und ausreichend. Wenn nicht sogar von der Menge etwas zu viel. Uns ist aufgefallen das vieles an restern zurück in die Küche gegangen ist und zum weg schmeißen ist es zu schade. Es muss ja nicht zu jeden Essen ein Salatteller dazu sein. 😉 Als Kritikpunkt zu dem Rumpsteak. Bitte dieses Dressing bzw. Creme extra servieren und nicht auf dem Fleisch. Das Fleisch wird durch das kalte Dressing abgekühlt und somit bekommt der Gast kein schönes heißes Fleisch. Ansonsten kann man nur ein Lob an die Küche aussprechen. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Wir waren heute spontan im SAXA. Als wir vorher angerufen haben und gefragt haben ob noch ein Tisch frei wäre, wurde uns bereits im Vorfeld mitgeteilt das es leider keine Bratkartoffeln mehr gäbe, wir aber trotzdem willkommen wären. Bei Ankunft wurden wir prompt an den für uns reservierten Tisch geführt. Kurz darauf auch bereits die Getränke und Speisen aufgenommen. Getränke als auch Speisen kamen sehr schnell und waren ebenfalls sehr lecker! Unter dem Strich absolut empfehlenswert!

Wir waren zu zweit da an unserem ersten Urlaubsabend. Reserviert hatten wir nicht hatten trotzdem gleich einen Platz zu unserer Freude auch noch draußen. Ich hatte die Putenmedaillons und mein Mann das Zanderfilet. Dazu gab es einen Salat. Es hat uns gut geschmeckt, das Essen kam schnell und die Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Wir gehen bestimmt noch einmal hin.

Super leckeres Essen zu kleinen Preisen. Bedienung auch mega freundlich, sehr entspanntes und familiäres Ambiente. Wirklich sehr zu empfehlen, werden auf jeden Fall wieder herkommen :)

Etwas altbacken die Einrichtung aber nettes und hübsches Personal ! Essen relativ gut aber nichts außergewöhnliches. Wer keine Lust auf Experimente hat ist dort genau richtig !

Het restaurant is een beetje sfeerloos ingericht. Het eten is echter van prima kwaliteit en goed verzorgd. De prijzen liggen iets hoger voor Duitse begrippen maar lager voor Nederlandse begrippen. Heerlijk gegeten!

Wir waren mit 5 Personen im Sommer zum Mittagessen hier. Wow. Es waren nur wenige Gäste im Restaurant. Nach den obligatorischen Corona Formalitäten kamen zügig die Getränke. Nach ca 30 Minuten bekamen wir unser Essen. Alle Teller waren sehr appetitlich angerichtet. Beilagen gab es zum Teil in Extra Schalen. Die sehr freundliche Kellnerin musste daher mehrmals laufen, bis alle Speisen an unserem Tisch waren. alles war frisch zubereitet. Das war das erste mal das wir hier waren aber ein steht fest wir kommen wieder. Danke an den Koch für das leckere Essen.

Wir haben uns spontan für einen Besuch im SAXA entschieden und einen Platz im kleinen Biergarten bekommen . Essen war sehr lecker , Preise sind hervorragend und das Personal sehr freundlich. Empfehlenswert 👍
