We had called ahead to reserve a table and were told we could simply come by at the desired time. We were greeted warmly upon arrival, but with the added reminder that we should hurry, which made the atmosphere a little hectic. The food was generally okay, but rather on the pricey side. The Coke tasted flat and was served without ice or lemon. The tiramisu also didn't seem homemade. Overall, the visit was alright, but we would have expected a bit more quality considering the prices.

A nice restaurant that unfortunately tries to be more than it actually is. The ambiance is pleasant, even though it's quite noisy, and the service is adequate. I personally enjoyed my pumpkin ravioli, but they didn't exactly blow me away. My companion didn't like it at all and ended up with food poisoning…

We reserved a table for three for Boxing Day. We waited an hour until four people who arrived after us were seated ahead of us. So we spontaneously called the Athen restaurant in Oldenburg and were incredibly lucky to get a table there. After that, we left Sasso. It's a shame that profit takes precedence over quality. The restaurant was completely overbooked, and there were easily 10-15 people constantly waiting, despite our reservation. The staff seemed completely overwhelmed. Absolutely not recommended for Christmas!!!!

The food was good, but a lot of the vegetarian antipasti was store-bought and not homemade (at €15.50, you'd expect better). We didn't get ciabatta bread, but we don't eat much bread anyway, so it wasn't a big deal. The duck leg was nice and tender, not dry at all. The chorizo ​​risotto was also good. The cheesecake was tasty but quite small and therefore overpriced. At the end, I wanted a glass of wine, but it never arrived... although it was on the bill. That was then canceled. All in all, we expected more. There's definitely room for improvement.

At the next table sat three rather drunk men who were talking loudly in quite vulgar language. It was almost embarrassing. They seemed to be regulars, as the server frequently came by to drink sparkling wine. The pizza was perfectly ordinary. Nothing to write home about. That was our first and last visit.

The service seems rushed throughout – the place is very busy. The waiters – there were only men on duty – are loud. It's a bit like a festival tent. The food came little by little. Initially, the service was quite attentive. But when the plates were cleared, the service suddenly dropped. We had trouble ordering another drink…it was 10 p.m. at that price. I expect more hospitality. I want to be looked after.

A beautiful restaurant with stylish decor. The menu is very classic for an upscale Italian restaurant: pizza, pasta, meat, and fish dishes. My meal was uninnovative and not particularly sophisticated. I had a chicken breast stuffed with spinach and Gorgonzola on a bed of mashed potatoes with vegetables. The service wasn't particularly attentive. Overall, I've had better and more affordable experiences at other Italian restaurants in Oldenburg.

We had a pasta with chanterelles and a pizza with Parma ham. All very good! Pasta cooked well and good pizza ingredients. They also had some Italian bitters on the menu. Desserts were good but maybe a little expensive!

So far so good; We ate there several times and I think the food is average and hidden behind a chic facade. What you get tastes ok, but doesn't match the rest of the store's layout. You would expect more, especially given the prices. To top it off, on the last visit there was severe food poisoning in two people who ate the same dish... I would say you can get a lot better food for the money.

Much to our dismay, the starters were forgotten, which was probably due to the busy Lolal. But with all due respect, something like that simply shouldn't happen. After a short while our bruschetta arrived. Unfortunately, the bread wasn't properly toasted, so it was hardly possible to eat the extremely well-filled bread; it didn't taste good either with a fork or by hand. Then came the main courses. My filled dumplings were visually beautifully presented. My companion's pizza too. The pizza sauce only tasted like olive oil and the tomato flavor was completely overshadowed by it. Unfortunately, the edges of the pasta dough pockets were not through and you had the feeling of chewing on raw pasta, as if you had cardboard in your mouth. The filling and the cream sauce tasted very good. My comment about the pasta dumplings was met with a shrug of the shoulders. Which was a shame. Sorry, anyone who offers such high-priced food should also pay attention to the high culinary level and the appropriate service and quality of the food, which doesn't fit at all when you consider that we paid 100 euros. And I am a chef myself with 30 years of professional experience. Sasso has done it for us.

We went there because of the numerous good reviews. The atmosphere is very nice. The service is quick and friendly. Unfortunately, it lacks a bit of warmth... Unfortunately, we were a bit disappointed with the food because it tasted quite bland. You can add more seasoning, but that should actually be the exception and not the rule, because almost everyone adds more seasoning. A little courage in the kitchen can't hurt ;) We'll just try it one more time and hope that the Sasso simply had a not so good day.

The menu read: Angus rump steak with fat crust · homemade herb butter · market-fresh vegetables · French fries, I stated when ordering that I didn't want any fries, but I was offered a small salad. I got the rump steak without herb butter, without market fish vegetables with fries and salad. The quality of the meat was OK, but unfortunately it was completely covered in tendons, so I couldn't eat about 1/3 of the steak. When I asked if everything was OK, I told the service that I was missing the market-fresh vegetables and that I had the Pomeranian on my plate, whereupon I or we were offered a schnapps on the house. Personally, I think it's a shame for a meal that costs €31.50. My wife was at Sasso a few weeks ago and found the food and service very good. Maybe the staff and kitchen were having a bad day, but I would have expected a little more accommodation. I will definitely visit Sasso again and hope for delicious food and good service.

This is my second week in Oldenburg and I have visited this restaurant several times during this time. The food was always excellent and the waitresses and the boss always created a great atmosphere. We were looking forward to a cozy New Year's Eve and reserved a table weeks ago. Our table was in the “well ventilated” annex. Radiant heater directly above the head, cold back, cold legs. We have been to Sasso several times this year. There are several areas for dining, so groups can sit separately. There is a fixed menu as well as daily or weekly menus. Particularly current meat and fish dishes can be found here. The fixed menu also includes many exclusive and sophisticated pizza and pasta variations. The service is quick and courteous. The furnishings of the guest rooms and the wet areas are upscale. For example, there are real towels at the sinks. You won't be happy here if you're a vegan. There is no vegan dish listed on the menu, but upon request a risotto and salad could be offered. But it couldn't keep up with the standard of the other dishes.

Italian restaurant with wonderful food. The beef fillet was fried to perfection. I would have liked there to be a little more market vegetables, but of course that's personal preference - I'll order it that way on my next visit. Our personal highlight, however, was the crème brûlée with raspberry sorbet. The vanilla note and perfect consistency and the freshness of the slightly sour-sweet raspberry sorbet created a heavenly flavor pairing. The service was very nice and attentive and even though it was very busy that evening we didn't have to wait too long for anything. Price-performance ratio is definitely fair for the product quality you get.

I first read other reviews before I wanted to write something negative here to check whether we were just unlucky. Unfortunately not from the looks of it. grievances have often been highlighted here that apparently none of the operators are interested in. So the cards were simply thrown on the table without a word. Not in front of us but on the side of the table in the stack. Definitely not appropriate in a restaurant like this. This isn't a snack bar! There was no question as to whether we would like to have a drink. Here you had to actively make eye contact in order to get the waiter back to the table. We each ordered a starter and a main course. After more than 1 hour and 15 minutes, we asked if they had forgotten us because by now four tables around us had finished their main course even though everyone came after us. It seemed so, because after another 5 minutes the starters were on the table. There was no apology about the incident. The waiter who had taken the order suddenly worked in a different area. I think he forgot to hand over the order. Meanwhile our drinks were obviously empty. Don't you think they asked us if we wanted something to drink with the starter... It only took 20 minutes from the starter to the main course and we were then asked if we would like something else to drink. Very much. The drinks came quickly. To make matters worse, my dish was actually wrong. I got a pepper steak instead of gorgonzola cream. Unfortunately, I only noticed this halfway through and forgot to mention it at the end. The food deserves a full 5*. Unfortunately the service is not. At the end we were asked if everything was ok and I mentioned the very long waiting time. This was acknowledged with a shrug of the shoulders. Here, too, there was no “apology” or an offer of an espresso or something similar as we know from other restaurants. We were also not offered dessert, which we had actually planned for. Because of the long wait, we didn't feel like it anymore anyway. When it came to the bill, there was still a noticeable wait of 5 seconds to see whether the amount was different than what was on the bill. I usually always tip well. I really didn't think it was appropriate to reward bad service here. Too bad for the kitchen. They deserved it. We probably won't be back because my statements can also be found in various other reviews.
