The food was okay. The tables were very close together. The service was mediocre; we sat for a very long time without being asked if we wanted anything else. We then decided to leave, but had to wait another 20 minutes before we could pay. We couldn't understand the good reviews. A shame.

Delicious food, traditional Italian dishes. Great selection of fresh fish. Unfortunately, the friendliness of the service varies depending on the day – often you get the feeling that the staff aren't really enjoying their jobs. The interior is very loud and cramped, but there is a spacious outdoor terrace with patio heaters.

I came all the way from Wilhelmshaven to Oldenburg just to eat here, and it was absolutely worth it! The food was delicious, and the service was outstanding. A huge thank you to Rosario for the friendly and attentive service. I'll definitely be back! From Stella 😀

We've been there several times now, and we enjoyed it the previous times too. Whether it was my 50th birthday in May or my daughter's birthday, which we celebrated there, everything was fine until yesterday, even though we just wanted to toast our engagement and have a delicious meal... I had reserved a table for four people. When we arrived, we were seated at a table in the back corner. We were comfortably seated and were already busy choosing from the menu when a waiter came over and asked, very rudely and unfriendly, if there were five of us. I said, "No, I had reserved for four people." He then became totally cheeky and arrogant, "Then you can't stay here, you have to sit somewhere else." I can't even express how unfriendly this person was, and we really should have left the place because of that. Well, we accepted it and sat down at a much smaller table. It was extremely crowded, and unfortunately, the same waiter stayed. The pizza was otherwise better. The atmosphere was at rock bottom...thanks to the arrogant, extremely unfriendly waiter, we definitely won't be back!!! Oh yeah, and the previous table wasn't occupied while we were there...

The atmosphere is better at a snack bar... crammed together like chickens in a battery cage. Some of the pizzas were burnt, and the strange waiter acted like a complete idiot. I don't understand how anyone can rate something like that highly.

However, it's still very unpleasant when the table suddenly takes on a life of its own and starts moving. - Bill was incorrect (sure, it happens sometimes). Perhaps the staff should explain what's on the bill before paying, since you don't have access to the bill (neither in paper form nor on the tablet). We're missing €7, which we can't explain. But we're not going to drive the 50 km back to the restaurant just for €7. - Everything is cramped, tables are extremely close together. Of course, revenue has to be generated. But my elbow almost touched the elbow of the person at the next table... No judgment, as it's a matter of personal taste (a negative experience for me personally): • Bruschetta drizzled with oil (it may be traditional and adds a special touch to the meal, but when the oil runs off the cheese and the very bland ham, it seems too much to me) • We had prawns with garlic pasta and a pizza with air-dried ham and hard cheese. Both were absolutely unsatisfactory to our taste. All in all, we wouldn't eat there again, as (in our opinion) the food wasn't tasty. However, the ambiance in the restaurant itself is very nice.

Very condescending and, if you speak up, rude staff.

That was truly embarrassing. I was traveling with my (English-speaking) family in Oldenburg, and we wanted to stop at a pizzeria for dinner. I asked the first waiter if we could get a table or if there was any space. He didn't speak German very well and referred us to a colleague. The colleague immediately started shouting and addressed me in an unkind tone. He then turned to one of my relatives and rudely told him to go to the corner where there was a space. He didn't understand German, so the waiter continued shouting... I then explained to the waiter that not everyone speaks German, and he completely lost it. That was the last time I'll ever go to this "place" with relatives or friends from abroad. This pizzeria is truly embarrassing for Oldenburg. Please also check out the reviews on TripAdvisor; the reviews there are unfiltered and provide a better picture of the service.

The food was decent, the service was subpar, and we ate outside. The atmosphere was bland and the wooden chairs were worn out. You had to manage ordering on your own. There were kiosks for ordering, just like at McDonald's, but they didn't work well. In short, not a success.

The restaurant is highly recommended. I had the Pizza Inferno and my boyfriend had the Pizza Margherita. The pizzas had a nice, thin, baked crust, and the tomato sauce was very good. The menu offered a variety of dishes to order, from pizza to pasta and other items you'd expect from your Italian restaurant. The environment was clean, and the restaurant made you feel comfortable. We had friendly staff. It was very busy in the evening, so making a reservation would be advisable. You can also take away any leftover food. ❤️

We're sitting here in front of the restaurant right now. We received a very warm welcome. The food was prepared quickly and was delicious. The waiters were always near our table. None of the waiters present noticed that our glasses were empty. None of the waiters present thought to ask us if we wanted another drink.

I was truly impressed by the food and the wonderful atmosphere. I'm especially happy that Rosario, the waiter, served me. He was extremely friendly and experienced in the restaurant industry. He impressed me with the way he served the food, and he was very attentive to ensure everything was top-notch. I sincerely thank Rosario's waiter. You are truly the best waiter I've ever encountered in my life. Mamma Mia is and remains my favorite Italian restaurant in Oldenburg. I've been there countless times and have never been disappointed. The food is always delicious, the service is friendly and quick, and you just feel like you're in good hands. Sure, prices have risen a bit over the years, but that's the case almost everywhere. The quality here is good, and I can highly recommend a visit, especially at lunchtime. You can often get a table spontaneously. Things look different in the evenings, depending on the day of the week it's better to make a reservation, otherwise you'll find yourself standing in front of the door with your stomach growling and looking longingly through the window. The only thing I don't really like is the narrowness. Sometimes you sit quite close to each other and you can almost hear what was ordered at the next table before the waiter even writes it down. But that's also part of the Italian flair, isn't it? When it comes to food, you get exactly what you would hope for in a classic Italian restaurant. Nothing fancy, just solid, good cuisine. I can particularly recommend the pasta dishes and meat dishes, simply delicious, honest and reliable. If you like Italian food, it's hard to go wrong with a visit to Mamma Mia. I'll definitely be happy to come back again and again. And not just because I now know where it is most comfortable to sit. It is also more suitable for small groups and is unfortunately not entirely barrier-free.

We were at Mamma Mia last night and were appalled by the waiters' unfriendliness and arrogance. We've never experienced anything like it before and will definitely not be returning. Since it was a bit windy outside and rain was starting to fall, we wanted to sit at a more sheltered table that had just become available. Our request was declined, but the worst part was the way the waiters behaved. Absolutely unacceptable. We left.

The pizza was delicious and the outside area was attractive. We would have liked to order something to drink, but the waitress completely ignored us after the food was brought. Ultimately, it wasn't a pleasant experience. When we asked about it directly, they showed no understanding. They even ended up issuing an incorrect bill.

It has very little to do with the "Best Pizza in Oldenburg"! It was more like bland and dry. The service was friendly at first. When we, as a group of six, wanted to pay, he became very rude. I happened to be in Oldenburg and was still hungry. It's not exactly cheap, but the quality of the pizzas is pretty damn good. They have both indoor and outdoor seating.

We wanted to eat at an Italian restaurant; there were three adults and a baby in a stroller. The friendly waiter assigned us a table right in front of the restroom, which smelled really strongly of feces. We then moved to the next table, because nobody wants to eat in the smell of feces. The waiter promptly came to our table and said we weren't allowed to sit there, but only at the other table. When I said it smelled bad there, he simply replied, "I know, you can't sit here," and threw us out. I have truly NEVER experienced anything so rude. How can they treat guests so badly because they have a baby with them? So, from my point of view, it's an absolute no-go and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Quite the opposite. I can only advise against going to this restaurant!

A true piece of Italy – 5 stars for Mamma Mia! In every respect! I visited Mamma Mia for the first time, together with two good friends – and what can I say: We fell in love immediately! The food was simply divine, prepared with so much love and flavor that I would have loved to try everything on the menu. I was particularly impressed that the kitchen was actually only open for 20 minutes – and yet we still had a meal that felt like a feast. No stress, no rush, just warmth and quality. We recently witnessed an extremely unpleasant incident in this Italian restaurant that left us deeply shocked. Two elderly gentlemen, apparently friendly, had moved several times. The reason was a seat that wasn't moving. They behaved calmly and politely, didn't bother anyone, and clearly just wanted to enjoy their visit. Instead of responding with understanding or patience, the owner became very angry. Without any de-escalating words, he made a rude remark that was humiliating and completely inappropriate. Shortly thereafter, the two gentlemen were evicted from the restaurant in a manner that was neither professional nor humane. This behavior is in stark contrast to what one expects from a restaurant: hospitality, respect, and a modicum of empathy, especially towards older people. The fact that someone is treated this way for repeatedly changing seats sheds a sad light on the tone of this establishment. The food may be solid, but after this experience, it's hard to describe the atmosphere as pleasant or inviting. If you value respectful service, you should think carefully about whether you want to stop here.

The food was okay. Not outstanding, but okay. Unfortunately, the service wasn't good. We ordered, and 20 minutes later, people who had ordered after us were already served. Then the waiter came back to our table and another table and had to ask again what we had ordered. Our food arrived 15 minutes later. Hence only one star.

We found the food delicious and the surroundings beautiful. We were happy until the end, but then the waiter announced that only one person could pay by card (there were five of us). Actually, everyone wanted to pay by card, but he became very impatient and rude. He said we didn't understand and should split the money between us. This behavior towards the end was very disappointing.

Just want to share my dining experience today at Mamma Mia Restaurant in Oldenburg, Germany, my hometown. I am a Flight Attendant and of course i am not that easy to satisfy when it comes to dining. Being always on the go and always in different countries, we have the privilege to to eat in the best hotels and restaurants in different countries. It’s fun and i love it, but when i am home during my off days, i prefer to stay home and cook and that is why i seldom go to restaurants. Today, our friends were in town and they want to go to Mamma Mia, because it’s the place to be when you want authentic Italian food. It’s the best Italian Restaurant in town! Our Friends and i had a great time, spent almost 4 hours there. We are very satisfied with the food we ordered and the service was excellent! Our server Rosario was very attentive and friendly. A nice ambiance, good seating, and a relaxed atmosphere for a good meal. Unfortunately, the menu doesn't specify which beer is used for Alster. Krombacher is standard in Germany. Here, however, it's Jever. Not everyone likes Jever. If you ask if a different one is used, you're told that you have to drink it, as no other type is available. If you ask a different waiter, you'll get a strange look and then reluctantly get a new drink, unfortunately this time alcoholic. Then your cutlery is cleared away after you just want a drink. It's not friendly service.

I wanted to eat a pizza here, but the prices quoted for a pizza defy description. Without a drink you pay upwards of 15 euros.

Unfortunately it was our first time in Oldenburg and we chose the wrong restaurant based on reviews. The pizza at number 96 had a very sour taste, as if something from the seafood wasn't fresh. The waiter was rude and didn't want to hear anything about it. The second pizza I had ham and salami was edible, but nothing special. The dough will dry out very quickly, perhaps made from corn flour. Very unfortunate. This can ruin your impression of Oldenburg, even though the city is very beautiful.

We ate here years ago. The food was good! The service was rather unfriendly, which dampened the atmosphere. Particularly stupid: the review here from back then was deleted because it was classified as “defamatory”. It was a friendly, benevolent but honest review. The potential for good reviews is definitely there (location, delicious food). Work on training the staff and giving the guest a nice evening instead of having bad reviews deleted!

The pizza was really tasty, unfortunately there was too much bacon on the ham for me personally, but that's definitely a matter of taste.

The lasagna I ordered was not tasty at all. But even more, I would say the service is really the worst there. Not even trying to say hello at the door, not sympathetic at all or like the short young guy being rude and trying to fulfill some Italian stereotypes. A well-known address in Oldenburg for many years. Unfortunately the service is very variable between quite friendly and very unfriendly. There isn't much of Italian hospitality to be felt either. The pizza was also tastier and had more flavor. But the lasagna is really not good. Hardly any minced meat and instead cooked ham. There is also a lack of taste here. Well, that was probably the last time Mamma Mia for us :(

There were 3 of us eating at your place. The waiter offered us a free aperitif in advance, exact term in poorer German: Would you like a “free non-alcoholic aperitif while you wait?!” We do, it's nice. Finally, the nasty surprise that we had to pay €5.20 each. When we mentioned this, the waiter also portrayed us as blatant liars. There was no courtesy. Impossible. We should please pay these and Ciao. 👋🏻

We wanted to celebrate a 60th birthday in this restaurant and made a reservation a month in advance. When we arrived we were told that we would have to move after 8 p.m. if we wanted to stay longer. The entire atmosphere was unpleasant - The waiter was condescending and constantly told us off with rude comments. He even said "Know or believe?" when ordering, which was just disrespectful. As if that wasn't enough, the food was cleared away later, even though some of them hadn't even eaten yet. We felt extremely uncomfortable and will definitely not recommend this restaurant. Such behavior towards paying guests is simply unacceptable!

So it's a shame for the city of Oldenburg, as such a beautiful restaurant unfortunately has poor service and the food was really plain and dry, the conditions weren't friendly at all. So unfortunately only 1 star.!!

Unfortunately, you've gotten worse over time. The pizzas are thinner and with fewer ingredients on them! However the prices have increased! If you order a pizza to eat in, of course it has to be served sliced! If you want to eat inside, Unfortunately you can't enjoy it. It's cool and drafty inside. Plus it's too tight inside. If you pay in cash you don't get a receipt. So if you want to enjoy your food, go somewhere else.

I can say with certainty that this restaurant is the best in Oldenburg. A wonderful restaurant with delicious Italian dishes, very tasty wines and friendly, helpful service - these are the features that make this restaurant number one. It was the perfect place for our meetings and pleasant dates. One of the most unforgettable experiences for me was meeting my brother again after 9 years in this restaurant - that moment will always have a special place in my heart. Since I no longer live in Oldenburg, I have to say that I really miss this restaurant. It will always be a special place for me.

The food was OK. The service/employees there are sometimes super nice but sometimes also very unfriendly. I asked nicely if they could pack up the rest of the pizza - then they replied snidely, "Do you think we're going to throw it away or what?", turns around and leaves. The ambience is OK, but people sit very close together.

I've been a guest at Ristorante Mamma Mia for years and don't know of any place that offers more authentic Italian cuisine. Yes, it's full, it's hectic, sometimes it's cramped - but that's exactly what it's all about. Of course, it can get loud in a full restaurant or there can be stressful moments in service - that's human nature. But this is exactly where my appeal comes in: every guest has the opportunity to express themselves directly on site, express wishes or clarify problems. Instead of venting frustration anonymously, a personal conversation would be much more valuable. Because in the end it's not just about good food, but also about mutual respect. An institution in Oldenburg for decades. Consistently good to very good cuisine, quick service, extensive wine list. Interesting audience, good mix of flashy chics and local celebrities, bank advisors and punks who have seen better days. The somewhat cramped seating does not detract from the good atmosphere. It's a little quieter on the weather-protected terrace. We always feel welcome at Mamma Mia, even with children. Addendum: Confirmed word for word even after many further visits. As an Italian citizen, the pizza that was served to me was a downright disgrace! I'm used to pizza that's ten times better. We were then just left standing like that!!! What a disgrace!!!!! Now go to the other Italian restaurant, apparently they don't need it!!! Sad!!!!
