Saro Tapas Bar & Lounge in Osnabrück

It was another wonderful evening, despite some initial difficulties with the reservation. The service was excellent and the food delicious. We were allowed to stay as long as we wanted, and we are very grateful for that.

We hadn't made a reservation, but still got a table for three. The food was very good, the atmosphere is nice, however it can be difficult for the hard of hearing when it's full.

A very friendly atmosphere, the staff is attentive and welcoming, and the food was excellent – ​​chicken skewers, artichokes wrapped in Serrano ham, and fried sardines – all a bit different from typical tapas fare. The selection of spirits is impressive, at least the selection of malt whiskeys; I'm not sure about the other spirits. The red wine was also very good. Good value for money. A fantastic tapas bar! Or rather, more than that. This time we didn't have tapas, but instead enjoyed beautifully prepared and truly delicious main courses. Both the sea bream and my Iberian pork fillet were outstanding. The small selection of appetizers and the excellent wine pairings perfectly complemented the meal. We'll definitely be back.

We received a super-friendly welcome and service – despite having a toddler, we always felt welcome. The food arrived a little late, but it was also packed... The tapas themselves were just as we had hoped: simply well-made and really, really delicious! :-)

I think it's safer to reserve a table. We were lucky and got a table for three people without a reservation. We had two hours until the table was taken, but it was more than enough time. The food was fantastic and the service excellent. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. We felt very comfortable and would come back if we were ever in Osnabrück again.

Unfortunately, I can't comment on the food here. I just have to say that I've never been treated as unfriendly in a restaurant as I was here within five minutes. With no ulterior motive, we sat outside and pushed two tables together; there were four of us. One of us even politely asked the restaurant if this was okay. This was followed by an unfriendly reprimand about how the "host" (a bold term) would decide who would sit where and how. We weren't actually guilty of anything wrong and pushed the tables back. When we left, we were called inflexible. I hope the server just had a bad day and doesn't actually have to go through life feeling so frustrated and bitter.

Two of us made a reservation for 5:00 PM on a Sunday evening and sat in the bright conservatory. We had two aioli and pedrones as starters and a platos combinados for the main course: one Valencian fish dish, one Saro pork and poultry dish. Everything was delicious, and the service was great.

We had a great seat in the winter garden and were served by a very friendly and competent waiter who was very helpful in choosing our meal. In addition to the delicious tapas, we had a salmon dish that was truly excellently prepared. Cooked to perfection, with a great, distinctive flavor and very well seasoned. Tisch für 14 Personen vorbestellt, und 1,5 Std. auf den Hauptgang gewartet. Als fast alle fertig waren bekam das Geburtstagskind dann auch mal ihr Hauptgericht. Zu guter letzt muß man noch diskutieren und sich beschimpfen lassen. Nie wieder!!

Not an insider tip – but always worth a visit! Saro is rightly one of the most popular restaurants in Osnabrück. The atmosphere is stylish and inviting, the service is always friendly and attentive. The tapas are of high quality, freshly prepared and taste excellent. Whether for a cozy evening for two or with a larger group – you will always feel comfortable here. Even when the restaurant is busy, the staff remains professional and courteous. An absolute must for anyone who wants to enjoy good food in a pleasant atmosphere. We'd love to come back!

Were invited here for a birthday. The food, service and ambience are excellent. The incredibly large selection of tapas left us more than full and the white wine was also very tasty.

I ate tapas in Spain many many times these ones were by far one of the best one I have ever had. The only con is that it’s popular so it’s important so reserve a table. Additionally it’s quite small and therefore it has a loudish atmosphere, be sure to come with strong vocal cords.

Basically a solid and pleasant restaurant. I booked and held a company event there with my team, from starter to dessert the food was great! The service wasn't flawless, but it was still quick, well organized and accommodating! The atmosphere was nice but not extraordinary. All in all it was a great visit and I'll be back! Although the restaurant was full, we were warmly and attentively invited to the counter by a service employee, where an extraordinarily gifted barman presented us with fantastic creations and very perfect cultural techniques - to our delight, we were not called on our first name!!! - and a very attentive host mentality. In my case, the food was very good, my friend had a small criticism, it was immediately implemented and improved, very, very professional!!! The only point of criticism about this wonderful evening would be the not-so-charming appearance of the "boss", who would have liked to model her charisma and appearance on her employees!!

An early table reservation is necessary. I think the food tastes very good and rich. The service is quick and friendly. Price-performance ratio is good. It is relatively loud in the restaurant because of the many guests. You can park in the Nikolaiparkhaus or Ledenhof parking garage.

A very cute and cozy tapas bar. There are good vegan and vegetarian dishes. Perfect for spending a nice evening with friends. The service was OK but not outstanding. Still left a good tip. I would recommend making reservations on public holidays or weekends.

Now again Spanish tapas at Saro. Reservation semi-automatic, but I had to call anyway (special requests). As a guideline, 3 tapas for everyone, a bit too much in the end. Sangria was really tasty, but at €6.20 it was also expensive. The tapas all came at the same time, we had expected a slight delay, but that wasn't a bad thing. The carnage had already begun! Everything was quite tasty, but it lacked genius. I don't mind, we've just come back from Italy, where we had an incredibly delicious meal last evening. Wright found pork kebabs, dates were better and the mini pulpos had a double round in the deep fryer. Overall, it was very loud, which was suboptimal for my 80-year-old mother. Nice audience, good service and everything was done promptly, so it was great! For me the Saro has lost some of its quality. In Italy we paid the same in the tourist centers, only the bottle of water always cost €3. Here, as is usual in Germany, it is more than double. Overall, a nice evening, but room for improvement.

Unfortunately we didn't get a table and sat at the bar. It was by far the best thing that could have happened because the bartender was great. Nice conversations, brutally good food and a great ambience made the evening end very successfully. If it weren't so far away, I'd be back at any time. Einen Punktabzug gibt es wegen des hohen Geräuschpegels, der eine Unterhaltung schwierig bis unmöglich macht! Das liegt teilweise an den sehr eng stehenden Tischen, aber teilweise sicher an einer fehlenden Schallisolierung. Dies erscheint besonders schade, da wir das Essen sehr ausgewogen und schmackhaft fanden. Die Speisekarte ist vielleicht etwas zu umfangreich, bietet aber auch für jeden Geschmack ein Gericht. Den Service haben wir als freundlich und schnell erlebt; auf Sonderwünsche wird eingegangen, obwohl nicht immer umgesetzt.Auch lässt sich eine gewisse Professionalität vermissen. Wegen des Essens kämen wir wieder - wenn sich die Dezibel reduziert haben.

The real hit was the “prawn skewers” ​​- the lowest level of taste. We were sitting outside in the winter garden with a window facing the street - when a kitchen employee walked past us with a frozen package of shrimp skewers - well, enjoy your meal! Price-performance doesn't fit at all anymore.

We waited for a long time, making eye contact with the waiter again and again without waiting. We were somewhat ignored until a lovely male waiter eased some of the awkwardness. The food is average, the drinks and desserts are okay. Right in the center of Osnabrück, although the business hours are very late, I was informed early that the kitchen would be closed soon. All in all it was not a very friendly experience, especially the waitress, which is a pity.

We were there during the European Championship game between Germany and Spain. Still, it wasn't that extreme and we got a seat far away from the TV. Every guest was asked about this upon entering. The food was sensationally delicious. A great evening with very helpful and courteous staff.
