El Hidalgo in Osnabrück

Delicious tapas, very friendly and attentive staff... a wonderful evening. I've been there a few times, and every time it's been delicious and friendly! Highly recommended for tapas and wine lovers!

⭐ Restaurant Review (Dish No. 37 – Fish Platter) Last night we ordered Fish Platter No. 37, which, according to the menu, consisted of fish fillet, shrimp, squid, anchovies with homemade potatoes and a side salad – for a whopping €27.90. What we got was a complete disappointment: • The "fish fillet" was actually a piece of tuna. → The menu doesn't say "tuna fillet," but only "fish fillet." This is misleading, as most guests expect a mild, white fish fillet – not a firm, dark tuna steak. → The tuna was also reheated and still cold inside – no sign of fresh preparation. • One of the shrimp was raw. We placed it visibly on top of the plate – no one asked or cared why the food wasn't eaten. • The calamari rings were cold, tough, and tasted awful. There was no sign of fresh cooking here either. • The anchovies seemed undercooked—they were still translucent on the outside, as if they weren't quite done. • The homemade potatoes tasted like they'd been reheated the day before—they were lukewarm and soft, with no hint of "homemade" or freshness. • The salad was the only thing that seemed fresh—but for a dish that costs €27.90, that's clearly not enough.

We had a lovely evening. The service was very attentive. However, a few points of criticism: The food was very heavily seasoned. They didn't skimp on the salt and garlic. It wouldn't have been a problem if I'd been able to taste some of the vegetables. It was also very loud. It's probably an acoustic issue in the room. But cozy is definitely not the best.

We had a private party in the separate room. It gets a bit loud when it's full and everyone is chatting, but it offers privacy. Otherwise, the interior is different, with tables scattered throughout the restaurant. The bar area is small. Overall, a nice Spanish restaurant in Osnabrück with typical dishes/tapas. Prices are a bit high, but comparable to other Spanish restaurants. Service was good, fast, and friendly, despite the 40 people in addition to the normal service. Just give it a try.

You have to like it, otherwise it's the wrong restaurant. Reservation spilled, bad seat, cold wind when the door opened, long waiting time, food wasn't served at the same time, beer bottle wasn't cold, wrong food was brought and a menu for the entire table. Thank you not again

The tortilla is bad and topped with peppers and curd, the croquettes have plenty of sauce and almost no ham flavor.

The tapas plate for two was very good and very good value for money. We then ordered grilled pork skewers and prawns, which were unfortunately too dry and not very seasoned. The fried anchovies were again very good.

Wenn ich in Osnabrück bin, ist das die erste Wahl für lecker spanisches Essen! Heute mal wieder eine Auswahl an Tapas gegessen - super, mega lecker 😋!!! Auch das Personal sehr freundlich 👍 Sehr zu empfehlen !!!

Well, it hasn't been there for a while. The prices for both food and drinks have increased significantly. In the past, right at the end, there was a nightcap like you would expect from a Greek or Italian restaurant, but that's probably no longer possible given the prices. I think over €30 per person is pretty decent, I won't eat there again🤷

We went there spontaneously because we were in the mood for tapas and were looking for a restaurant nearby with a good rating. When we arrived there, it was already well attended and we received a very warm welcome. Since we hadn't pre-ordered, a solution was still sought and we were assigned a great spot. As mentioned, it was well attended and we were prepared for a long wait. But fortunately that wasn't the case. After about 5 minutes we received the menu and were politely asked if we would like to order something to drink. We did this and after 10 minutes we had our drink and could also order something to eat. After another 20 minutes we had our food and were really happy with it. Everything was very tasty (we had a tapas package for 2 people) and enough for us. The price for everything was also right... just great 👍. We will definitely come again and would like to thank the team very much.

The food there is excellent. Especially the starters. It is very loud in the restaurant because it is a large room and you have to hear the conversations of the other tables. But if you want to eat delicious Spanish food, you're in good hands here. The waiting time was also quite ok, considering it was very full. I recommend reserving a table, especially on the weekend. The staff was very nice and friendly and also tried very hard. Always had to wait a little to order new drinks, but as I said, all the tables were occupied. So the restaurant is a good recommendation from me.

Great restaurant, tapas very tasty

Food was super good. Service is also great. It's just terribly loud. The location is not big, they have created as many seats as possible in a small space, which in the end creates an enormous noise level. The location itself is beautifully decorated and as mentioned, the food is super 😋 delicious.

There were three of us there. A great shop but some of the food wasn't seasoned enough. I ate salmon there with potatoes and cream sauce. I didn't like it at all and I would have expected more for the price. Sorry. I also told the waitress. I would have thought it would have been great if the chef had asked why it didn't taste good. Then we could have done it better next time. The other dishes were ok

Mein Mann und ich mögen das Don Luis schon sehr gerne aber das El Hidalgo ist noch gemütlicher, das Essen gefühlt schmackhafter und der Service aufgrund des kleinen Gastraums schneller und aufmerksamer! Absolute Empfehlung.

Wir hatten die gemischt Tapasplatte für zwei die war 5 Sterne wert. Leider hatte der Service an diesem Tag stressig zu tun und wir bekamen nach Nachfrage dann auch die Karte und nach weiterer Nachfrage könnte bestellt werden. Fazit liebend Gern tolles Essen und Atmosphäre bin Service bräuchte es eventuell eine Kraft mehr oder kommunikative Gäste 😉

Das Personal ist sehr freundlich, auch die Speisekarte verspricht Vielfalt, leider hapert es an der Umsetzung. Geschmachloses Weißbrot, Pilze aus der Dose und Dips die never selber gemacht sind. Tintenfisch leider zu durch. Bier zu warm, Weissweinschorle sehr wässrig, Kartoffeln sehr salzig. Wirklich schade, denn mit ein wenig mehr Hingabe bei der Zutatenauswahl und Sorgfalt bei der Zubereitung wäre es ein schöneres Erlebnis.

Das Essen lecker, das Personal sehr nett und aufmerksam. In gemütlicher Atmosphäre einen netten Abend verbracht. Wir kommen regelmäßig. Diese Mal hatten wir mit 12 Personen das Tisch-Buffet. Es gab reichlich und es war für jeden etwas dabei.

Es war ein toller Abend mit Tisch Buffet..... Es wurde immer wieder ein neuer Gang gebracht...wir hatten uns im Vorfeld nicht informiert und so war es ein Überraschungs- Buffet.....der Service war sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich

Wir hatten für heute um 17:30 Uhr einen Tisch für 2 Personen reserviert, mit einer Vorbestellung für Paella. Als wir unseren Tisch zugewiesen bekamen, war der Servicekaraft leider nichts bekannt bzgl. unserer Bestellung. Uns wurde freundlich mitgeteilt, dass die Paella ca. 30 Min. bräuchte.... Naja, die Wartezeit hielt sich in Grenzen.... Aber die Wartezeit hatte sich gelohnt, denn die Paella war unglaublich lecker und mit ausreichend Meeresfrüchten bestückt! Wir kommen bestimmt wieder, um die leckere Tapasauswahl zu probieren. Übrigens, vielen Dank an die junge Servicemitarbeiterin, die sehr zuvorkommend war!

Bin 4 x im Jahr in Osnabrück und versuche immer mal hier zu essen. Leckere spanische Tappas in rustikalem und authentischen ganz unkompliziert genießen 👍👍👍👍 Immer gerne wieder!

Wir waren zu fünft hier und hatten einen Tisch reserviert. Es gab einen Parkplatz direkt hinter dem Restaurant. Sehr freundlicher Empfang, korrekte Überprüfung der 2 G plus Regeln. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Die Getränke und das Essen kommt sehr schnell. Wir hatten diverse Tapas. Alles schmeckte sehr lecker.

Sehr leckere Tapas wie auch Weine. Preisleistung ist super und der Service nett. Definitiv einer der guten Tapas Läden in Osnabrück.
