Very friendly staff. Excellent, authentic food also with vegan options. The proprietor is Sri Lankan and very gracious.

It was our first time at Saphir and we were thrilled. As a group of seven we got a spot outside under the umbrellas, which was great in this weather. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was super tasty and perfectly seasoned. The mango lassi and the homemade tiramisu were also great! There is a lot on offer here for vegans and vegetarians. Actually everything is without meat, unless you specifically order the meat version. And even then, care is taken to ensure that the meat comes from fair farms. Sydney, the boss, was also super nice and talked to us at the end.

Super delicious food and “something different”. Has the potential to be a favorite restaurant. I found the service to be individual and therefore very good. The restaurant is located in a quiet area and offers the perfect environment for a digestive walk. ;)

Yesterday, August 2nd, the two of us were in this restaurant. It has to be said that it is practically a sports restaurant at the rowing club. The beer garden is fine so far, just typical of a beer garden. The location is quiet and there is also parking nearby. Now, onto what makes a restaurant. From my perspective, that is the service and the performance that comes from the kitchen and is on the table. I'll start with the meal, the dishes that were served to us were tasty, but I have to say that for the price quoted, the portions are very manageable, considering that two thirds are rice or noodles and the rest with the side dishes the various Curis is filled up. Now I come to what really disappointed me, when it comes to the term service I really have a hard time associating it with this restaurant. If the waitress stands at the table several times and doesn't even ask if you want something to drink when the glasses are empty, I think it's simply a desert of service. My gut feeling tells me that I have visited the restaurant once and that in my opinion there is no need to repeat it. Nevertheless, I wish you a good implementation in the new location, you should just remember that it is no longer a snack bar like before, but a restaurant and in the restaurant it is very important that service comes first.

We recommend! We tried everything from the menu (Chicken Roll, Carrot Sambol, Mushroom Devilled, Vegan Curry and Watalappan). The taste was really fantastic. We will eat there again soon. Very tasty again in the new restaurant. The selection of food has become larger. A great taste experience.

Beautiful garden but the food and service were not that optimal. I only live 800m away and knew the restaurant as a folding boat. If I want Sri Lankan food, I go to Sri Lanka. Sorry for locals from Bamberg, there is nothing here.

Super tasty, healthy and unusual dishes, most of which are also gluten-free. Very hospitable towards children (including changing facilities in the women's and men's toilets). The hosts really made an effort and gave us a table for my girlfriend and me including 2 strollers, despite the announced large group. Gladly again!

We made a reservation for 5 people at 6pm on a Friday. The restaurant was still quite empty at this point and the owner frequently asked about us. We were very happy to have reserved so early, the whole restaurant quickly filled up. The food and service were just as great as our seat on the side behind the privacy screen. This was our second time eating at Saphir on Erba Island. It looks a bit inconspicuous from the outside, but once you stand in the terrace area of ​​the Saphir, it turns out to be an inviting restaurant. We ordered the vegetarian Curry&Rice and Kotthu with beef. It was insanely good. There is also very attentive and warm service. Chicken curry a wing with bones, otherwise a rice pan. At the weekend we ate with friends for the first time in the newly opened Saphir restaurant in the folding boat club on Erba Island. The location is very comfortable and authentically furnished. The service is just fine but everyone is super friendly. The food was freshly prepared. Typical Sri Lankan dishes but also a few common dishes are offered. We tried the Sri Lankan dishes: rice with curry (beef), hoppers (vegetarian), kothu (chicken) and devilled (tofu) and were thrilled. Everything was very tasty, as were the starters, the grilled salmon and the pineapple chicken. For those who like it spicier, there is extra chili. Our taste was completely met. We'd love to come back!

So leckeres Curry haben wir noch nie gegessen- einfach klasse! Besonders begeistert haben mich die herzhaften Kokosflocken dazu! Auch zu empfehlen: "Hoppers" - kannte ich vorher noch gar nicht. Wenn man mal ein besonderes Geschmackserlebnis sucht, ist man im Saphir definitiv am richtigen Platz. Schöne Location, sehr nettes Personal- eine familiäre Atmosphäre.

Preis-Leistungsverhältnis passt leider nicht. Desserts überteuert. Gutscheine aus dem Schlemmerblock werden trotz Gültigkeit nicht mehr akzeptiert. Begründung hierfür laut Chef: neue Steuernummer für das neue Restaurant, was jedoch nicht der Wahrheit entspricht! Schade, aber wir werden dieses Restaurant definitiv nicht mehr besuchen.

Wir waren im Saphir, jetzt neu im Faltbootclub Gaustadt, Erbainsel. Die Einrichtung lädt zu einem gemütlichen Verweilen ein. Das Essen war hervorragend, Devilled Tofu. Kiribath mit Linsencurry. Kadela, Auberginenmoju und Papadamcracker. Der Chef selbst war zuvorkommend, aufmerksam und sehr freundlich. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Wir waren das erste Mal in der neuen Location, hatten aber vorher schon öfter bestellt. Waren immer zufrieden, am besten ist es natürlich vor Ort, der Service war top, das Ambiente super angenehm, wir hatten freie Platzwahl. NEUERÖFFNUNG 2024 Wir waren gestern zum ersten Mal im neuen Restaurant, welches wirklich sehr hübsch geworden ist und geschmackvoll eingerichtet ist. Natürlich spielt sich das Team gerade noch ein, aber dafür sollte man als Gast Verständnis haben. Alle waren sehr freundlich und bemüht, ihr Bestes zu geben und haben uns auch kommuniziert, dass es etwas länger dauern könnte und das ist voll in Ordnung! Das Essen war sehr lecker, Kotthu ein Traum! Die Cocktails und der Mangolassi waren auch sehr überzeugend - wir kommen auf jeden Fall gerne wieder und freuen uns, dass das Saphir endlich seinen Platz in der Innenstadt gefunden hat :-)

Ein bezauberndes Lokal, welches rundum mit Liebe zum Detail aufgebaut ist. Das Essen ist ein volles Erlebnis, dessen Geschmack und Qualität einlädt mit allen Sinnen in die Kultur Sri Lankas einzutauchen. Wer am Abend gerne Cocktails trinken geht, kann sich hier ebenfalls auf kreativen Genuss freuen. Mein absolutes Highlight, von dem ich mit größter Wahrscheinlichkeit noch viele Jahre schwärmen werde, ist das sri lankische Tiramisu. Das Team bietet wunderbare Begegnungen mit sympathischen, aufmerksamen und kompetenten Menschen. Ich freue mich, dass aus einem kleinen Imbiss ein so schöner Ort geworden ist, an dem man (nicht nur für zwischendurch) kulinarisch auf Reisen gehen kann.

Vorsicht! Die Rezensionen stammen nicht von diesem Restaurant. Neueröffnung, aber leider steckt alles noch in den Kinderschuhen... Der Service war total überfordert, Getränke aus (am Tag nach Eröffnung), die Küche hat keinen Plan, wieviel Essen man auf einen Teller packen muss, um 18 Euro dafür verlangen zu können, und Spaghetti mit Tomatensauce (13 Euro) haben wir noch nie schlechter und ungewürzter gegessen, da kann jedes Schwimmbad mithalten. Die Teller waren nicht vorgewärmt, und die Speisen wurden nicht bei der richtigen Temperatur bevorratet, alles war unterschiedlich lauwarm. Apfelschorle fürs Kind: 4,90 Euro! Mehreren Personen war (extrem) schlecht, wir vermuten altes Bier bzw Wartungsstau bei der Zapfanlage. Jeweils einen Stern gibt es für Chicken&Curry und für die guten Pommes. Aber wiederkommen werden wir nicht.

Fleisch aus Haltungsform 3 und 4 (Bio), ohne Zusatzstoffe. Chili-Knoblauch-Paste, Kokossambal usw. werden selber zubereitet. Offene Küche. Serviert wird im Restaurant. Auch Essen zum Mitnehmen. Direkt im Einkaufszentrum nahe der Kassen des Supermarkts, modernes Design. Ein Gefühl von Urlaub!

Richtig leckere und authentische srilankische Küche! Der verschiedenen Komponeten auf den schön angerichteten Teller, einfach eine Geschmacksexplosion! Der Inhaber ist äusserst freundlich und authentisch.

Das Essen schmeckt einfach hervorragend, auch die vegetarische und vegane Auswahl ist groß, es gibt sowohl leckeres Streetfood, das man nach den Einkauf auf die Hand mitnehmen kann, als auch gute Hauptgerichte zum Hinsetzen und Genießen. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt einfach und obendrein ist der Inhaber super freundlich. Wir essen immer wieder gerne hier, es lohnt sich!

Wie lecker kann bitte Essen sein? Ich hatte Eggroti, ein Curry mit Kürbis und Linsen leicht scharf und einen Mango-Lassi. Vom Chef gab es leckere Empfehlungen und die Zufriedenheit seiner Gäste ist ihm sehr wichtig. Absolute Herzensempfehlung!

Ich habe mit großem Vergnügen in diesem Restaurant essen dürfen. Sowohl das Team als auch der Inhaber selbst erwiesen sich als äußerst zuvorkommend und freundlich. Während meines gesamten Aufenthalts fühlte ich mich ausgesprochen wohl. Das Essen, welches mir serviert wurde, war von vorzüglichem Geschmack. Zudem beeindruckte mich die zeitgemäße und einladende Gestaltung des Interieurs und die geschaffene Atmosphäre.
