Excellent greek food served on a terrace overlooking the cathedral ! We were sit inside hence we could only enjoy the food and not the view, unfortunately. Recommended

Unfortunately, our experience wasn't good. Drinks took 20 minutes to arrive, and the food took 1.5 hours. Unfortunately, the octopus and grilled vegetables were burnt. The service was always attentive. The ambiance and view are lovely.

A very cozy place with a stunning view. The food is delicious, the presentation is beautiful, the service is attentive and friendly. Special thanks to the super hospitable hostess Anna for the warm welcome and for being able to accommodate our family group of 7 people without an early reservation. When I'm in Bamberg again, I'll definitely stop by for dinner. A great choice for a family dinner - I liked everything! I recommend it!

Very tasty food, very good service, quick service, large banquets, and the staff are very friendly. If you're cold, they'll bring you a blanket. The atmosphere is also very pleasant!

Today I was back at this wonderful place with its wonderful people. Once again, I was thrilled with the advice, the service, the quality of the food, and the ambiance. Worth every cent, even if it's not cheap, but then again, it doesn't have to be with the overall package. I'll be back!

We had to wait 25 minutes until our table was finally free. Then the table was completely dirty, and we had to wait another 30 minutes until our table was cleaned and our drinks finally arrived. On top of that, my drink was completely warm. The food was good, but it took forever, and that's for the price. And as if that wasn't enough, the manager gave me a hard time and basically shut me up... So I wasn't allowed to express my opinion. Almost as if I had no right to my opinion! Absolutely a disgrace. I can't recommend it under any circumstances...

Great view, friendly service, decent portions, and an outrageous wait time. We waited over an hour between the appetizer being cleared and the main course.

Unfortunately, it wasn't a great experience. We waited over 20 minutes for drinks and 1.5 hours for our food. The table next to us arrived half an hour later and finished earlier than us. The grilled vegetables were burnt, as was the octopus. The gyro was lukewarm. The service was poor. The only positive aspect was the beautiful view.

Completely unassuming from the outside, but absolutely surprising once you're inside. If you have the chance, definitely go to the terrace with its magnificent view. The menu is well-stocked and not overly extensive. The food is very good and the prices are absolutely reasonable.

I had dinner here with my wife on my wedding anniversary. Strangely, just an hour after eating, I had severe stomach pain and nausea, which the doctor diagnosed as gastritis. Anyone who suspects something bad is a scoundrel.

We came as tourists, eager to enjoy a delicious meal and have a good time. But upon entering, the receptionist rudely addressed us: "Where are you going? You didn't reserve a table." We turned around and left. The staff were unfriendly. Our mood was ruined.

I liked the quality of staple dishes and the deliberate but subtle decoration. Dishes are curated and very appropriate for the food they hold. The meat is cooked very well and my skewers had flavorful vegetables. This restaurant has a view that is difficult to describe, so I highly recommend placing a reservation and enjoying a summer evening on the terrace. The staff is very courteous and capable of speaking several languages.

We were staying overnight in Bamberg and stumbled upon this restaurant by chance. We highly recommend it. We received a very friendly welcome and were expecting a different menu, but were pleasantly surprised by the excellent food. We highly recommend the octopus carpaccio. If we're ever there again, we'll be happy to come back.

We were there on June 22, 2025, and had a great time. The food, service, and ambiance were excellent. We'll be back.

We were unfortunately a bit disappointed. First, the positive: the view is really beautiful, and the online reservation worked perfectly. Unfortunately, a few things went wrong for us. An appetizer was forgotten. After asking, it turned out that it had been at another table for two minutes, so the waiter took the appetizer away from that table and wanted to give it to us, which we declined. Then the wrong main course was brought. After it arrived, the waiter tried to explain to us that we had ordered incorrectly (there were five of us, and we all heard it). There was a brief apology at the end and the standard request for an ouzo, but we expected more. The food is mediocre; you can't expect anything exceptional here.

Highly recommended. The food was very good, the staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating. You feel very comfortable here. And the view of the cathedral is fantastic.

Super nice atmosphere, the gyros were very good, the service was top

Attracted by the beautiful view, we wanted to try the restaurant, but we won't come back: the gyros were of poor quality (had two cartilages) and tasteless. The pulpo for €27 was tiny and I was still hungry afterwards. The children's portion of gyros with fries for €15 are cheeky. However, the service is very nice and the restaurant (including the inside) is very attractive. Nevertheless, the food didn't convince us.

Price performance is no longer right. With each visit the prices were noticeably increased and the service reduced: smaller portions, no salad anymore included (€5 extra) 1 tablespoon of tzatziki..... .

Only the view was nice, otherwise everything else was horrible. The staff was bad and insulted you. The food took a long time to arrive and only came lukewarm. As you can see from the pictures, the plates were not warmly prepared and the portion was relatively small for just under €20. The taste wasn't convincing either. The view alone does it. Please don't fall for other comments and waste your money.

Fantastic service and especially delicious food

It was my first time going there and oh boy how much have I enjoyed it! Literally everything there was perfect. First of all, the staff were friendly, attentive, and sufficient. Not once I felt neglected by them. Second of all, the food was a gastronomic delight and miracle. I cannot recall the last time when I relished and appreciated every bite that I made. By the end, I ate everything and left nothing on my plates. Especially, I’d like to emphasise the restaurateurs work. She’d succeed at creating a heartwarming and unique environment which makes me want to go back again and again. Therefore, I definitely recommend this place if you seek extraordinary food, excellent service, and memorising atmosphere.

Beautifully located Greek restaurant in the middle of Bamberg with perhaps the most beautiful view in the city and especially of the cathedral. In summer also with a beautiful, spacious terrace. Unfortunately with taste deficits in the kitchen. Greek dishes are very nicely prepared and the portion size is okay, but the taste is further away from authentic cuisine and more in line with German preferences. But still not bad by any means. Price-performance ratio is still ok, although of course you have to expect a little extra for the ambience. If you are looking for a restaurant with a great view, you will definitely find it here.

We had a wonderful experience in a restaurant with a great view. The grilled octopus was tender, juicy and perfectly paired with the side dishes. The musaka was rich and delicious, with a golden layer of cheese. The crispy potato slices were also a highlight. Excellent food, great atmosphere and friendly service!

We had a lovely evening in the cathedral terraces today. The feta in a sesame coating was a highlight for us, as we had never heard of this appetizer before. The chicken souvlaki was also on point. Many thanks also to the nice waitress who recommended the feta to us. See you soon!

For us, the cathedral terraces are the best restaurant in Bamberg! A pleasure every time. The starters in particular are highly recommended - fresh, Mediterranean flavors that immediately transport you to Greece. Whether it's tzatziki, saganaki or grilled vegetables, the highest quality is ensured here. The grilled dishes are also a highlight - the meat is perfectly prepared, juicy and full of flavor. The service is always friendly and attentive, the atmosphere is cozy and stylish. If you want to eat well in Bamberg, you definitely shouldn't miss the cathedral terraces. Absolutely recommended!

We only had something to drink and couldn't pay with EC. Since we had no other option and we asked for a solution that would have been available, it wasn't great that the service then became rude. Maybe that should have been said beforehand. Ambience was very nice. Unfortunately I can't say anything about the food. It was about 15 euros and then about the principle.

This was the third time we've been to this restaurant and we weren't disappointed again. The starters are very very good. Everything fits and is served very attractively. Although the terrace and the winter garden were busy, we were served in a courteous, friendly and unhurried manner. Since we hadn't made a reservation, we were allowed to move into the winter garden after the starter. It was very cozy there and the main course was sensational. A suggestion for improvement: unfortunately you can only order a table online via "OpenTable". There was nothing left available that evening. Unfortunately no one answers the phone when you call. So we just walked up the little mountain and there were still a lot of tables available (some only inside). Maybe just answer the phone. Thanks!

We got a place around 8 p.m. "without" pre-ordering. We were happy then. The food was very tasty (although the disappointment that we only had a main course was evident in the waitress). The draft beer was a bit too warm. It was a shame that we weren't treated to an ouzo at the end at the house's expense...but all the other guests were. Since it was shortly before the bar closed, the nightcap fell down the back. Attention should not wane.

Delicious authentic Greek cuisine. Both the boss and the boss are really nice, always happy to have fun and always have a smile on their faces. We always come back, we really enjoy going there and we always receive a very warm welcome. The food is super delicious. Great service. Everything freshly made. In my opinion the best souvlaki. The dishes are always beautifully prepared. A really great atmosphere. In summer there is a great view of the cathedral. And if you've been there, my personal recommendation is to make the chocolate souffle with vanilla ice cream for your souvlaki :)

After a lovely trip to Seehof Castle, we enjoyed a wonderful evening with friends on the cathedral terraces. I visited the Domterrassen restaurant and was impressed by the quality of the food and service. The atmosphere of the restaurant perfectly conveys the spirit of Greece - warm, hospitable and authentic. The dishes were excellent: from delicate moussaka to fresh gyros to delicious feta cheese. I would particularly like to highlight the desserts – the baklava was incredibly delicious! The service was first class. The waiters were attentive, friendly and always willing to help choose dishes. They really know Greek cuisine and can recommend the best items from the menu. The restaurant offers a wide selection of traditional Greek drinks, including wonderful local wines and ouzo. It is the perfect place for both a romantic dinner and a meeting with friends or a family celebration. Overall, Domterrassen exceeded my expectations. I look forward to my next visit and recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to enjoy real Greek cuisine and hospitality.

The Domterassen is a Greek restaurant on the Kaulberg in Bamberg. The establishment has a diverse cuisine with great starters and numerous main courses. From the terrace you have a great view over Bamberg and the cathedral. The food was very tasty and the service was friendly. We would love to come here again to eat.

This place probably doesn't need any guests. After we informed the innkeeper that there were only 3 of us instead of the 5 people we had reserved, we were turned away from the restaurant after some further discussions. I can absolutely understand the reviews about the unfriendly host.

I can understand the host's lack of ability to criticize the other reviews. If you don't want to be expelled from the shop with loud words from the tenant and half-strong kitchen staff after you say that you don't necessarily find the species friendly, you should avoid this shop.

Rarely experienced something like that. Already been greeted incredibly rudely by the “boss” and yet, after agreement, just drank a beer (in the courtyard). We were then treated in an incredibly unfriendly manner when we wanted to pay. When he was then asked about it in the normal way, he ran towards us with his staff and threatened to hit us. There can be no talk of a recommendation here and anyone who reads their comments on reviews on this platform can guess what a “type” this is. Everything in life takes its toll and your bill is pretty steep. Best regards!

Everything was right for us in the cathedral terraces: the food was very tasty, the owner and his staff were extremely friendly, the food came promptly and last but not least - the interior is tasteful and cozy.

Unfortunately it was still too cold and the terrace was closed, but we also had a great view of the cathedral from the window seat. And then there was the food - just the right portion size, tender meat and beautifully prepared. We made our reservation easily online and everything was wonderful.
