A great, authentic shop. It's not just the decor that makes us recommend eating in the restaurant; When you take it away, you lose some of the great food and your eyes end up eating too!

After a spontaneous search, we decided to eat here based on the rating. We quickly found a place. It's a bit dark in the restaurant. We were warmly welcomed and served immediately. The food also arrived quickly. The taste was good. Unfortunately the portions are quite large. As a tourist you can't take anything with you... The toilets were also very dark, which made me feel uncomfortable. But the price performance suited me!

Every time I come to Nuremberg, I visit here, it is always very tasty and filling.

Absoluter lieblings Vietnamese. Essen schmeckt immer sehr gut und kommt super schnell. Kommen immer wieder gerne hier her. Der Chef kommt einem am Anfang evtl. etwas seltsam vor aber ist auch immer super Lieb. 💯/10

Wir waren spontan zum Mittagessen in diesem Restaurant. Der erste Eindruck war positiv.Wir bestellten uns die klassische Pho mit Hühnchen und Sommerrollen mit Rind. Nach nicht mal fünf Minuten standen beide Gerichte schon auf unserem Tisch. Dies verwunderte uns etwas; noch machten wir uns keine Gedanken. Das änderte sich jedoch schnell. Die Pho war geschmacklos und das Huhn knorpelig . Die Sommerrollen waren trocken, geschmacklos und augenscheinlich vom Vortag. Insgesamt eine totale Katastrophe. Essen konnten wir beide Gerichte nicht. Wir zahlten und gingen wortlos. Der freundliche Kellner wollte uns die Gerichte zum Mitnehmen noch einpacken. Wir lehnten dankend ab. Nie wieder!

Sao Mai is a super nice restaurant. The atmosphere is very cozy and not cramped despite the small space. Outdoor seating in summer is also recommended. The service was always attentive and friendly. The food itself was excellent - both cheaper “typical Asian takeaway” dishes as well as Vietnamese specialties and culinary highlights can be discovered here. Definitely worth a visit!

The food was very authentic and delicious, especially the glass noodle soup and the curry. The service was very friendly. The restaurant is usually full as it is rather small and cozy. The toilet was clean but the intermediate door was rather impractical. If you want authentic Vietnamese food you should visit this restaurant. Clear recommendation.

Loved the food and vibe there. The service was great. I don't remember what I actually ordered, but it was with noodles, chicken , soup, and veggies, maybe golden curry. I would highly recommend going there, for the price pf 12-15€ they give full pot of a meal which could definitely satisfy you. I would recommend coconut cocktail. There is a lot of verity food.

Very, very tasty Vietnamese food, exciting, diverse menu, we go there relatively often and can always try something different. Service is very good and attentive, the food comes quickly and it always tastes excellent. Cozy and stable authentic food without any fanfare.

Cute little Vietnamese spot with friendly and fast service. We ordered the V30 and V49, both of which were flavorful and well-balanced. The portions are generous, and the prices are fair. I’d definitely recommend it to my friends!

Clear 4 out of 5 stars. My Pho Bo was absolutely top. For a 5 out of 5, lime, perhaps another sauce (other than Sriracha) or extra chilli would have been great. Service was also super nice and the atmosphere was very authentic. Highly recommended!

Washed up here after a long hike in the heat. Smelled good, we liked the atmosphere. We sat outside on the wooden benches in the shade, phew. Extremely hospitable owner who talked to everyone, but didn't forget to keep the wishes of the waiting guests in mind. The three of us shared a coconut soup with shrimps, duck with vegetables and 2 summer rolls. Pleasantly surprised at the good quality. We also enjoyed the Sauvignon Blanc as well as the mango and coconut shake. Unexpectedly surprisingly good!

We got a table at short notice during the peak visitor time. The food is super tasty, absolutely fresh and yet it didn't take long. The service was very friendly. Everything seems familiar and makes you feel good.

The service was very quick and friendly. The fried flat rice noodles with duck tasted good. The fried udon noodles with tofu were not that tasty, they were too greasy and tasted a bit stale and strange, but the tofu was good.

Fantastic. Normally I would write in more detail, but you can't find enough words here. Everyone should come by here and be surprised. The food is incredibly good, even if the prices are high (which they are allowed to be, because the quality is unbelievably good). Terrific.

Simply very tasty and authentic cuisine... Thai and Vietnamese... you can ask for spicy cuisine, the papaya salad is a hit, the red Thai curry is a poem. If I lived in Nuremberg, this would be my favorite bar. The different nuances of Vietnamese cuisine and Thai cuisine are well brought out. Very loving everything and a little chaotic. Like in Hanoi. Tasty tasty.

The food is very disappointing. I ordered Bun Cha but it's nothing close to the authentic version, very salty sauce and wrong cooking type of meat. The salad is not correct type for Bun Cha as well. Hope the owner will take care of their food better to serve authentic Vietnamese food for foreigners. It was good a few years before.

Nice staff and delicious food. However, I wanted to pay by card and I was only told that you can only do this for an amount of €15 or more when the amount and everything was already in the device. This should be communicated in advance. So what was actually an inexpensive lunch has become unnecessarily more expensive.

Great Great Asian restaurant. The meal are big with lot vegetables. All we order are so great, pho, spring rool,curry rice..... Salmon and 🥑 salad is amazing, the salmon is deep fried.

I always enjoy coming here and for the first time I ordered beef pho. Upon request, I received my food without herbs. With the onions and spring onions, the noodle soup was very tasty. The quantity is good and I also got limes and chillies. Of course there was also Sriracha. I'm not a foodie, but the broth doesn't taste like instant broth to me :) The service is very friendly, as always, so a big thumbs up!

The lights are dim. As an Asian who has eaten Vietnamese food in many countries, this restaurant is really not authentic at all. It completely fools foreigners. I had the pleasure of dining in Sao Mai recently and it was an absolutely outstanding experience. From the moment I walked in I felt like a valued guest. The ambience is stylish and inviting, with a perfect balance of elegance and coziness. The service was first class. The staff was attentive, friendly and always willing to respond to our requests without seeming intrusive. The menu is a culinary journey that leaves nothing to be desired. Each course was a masterpiece in itself, with fresh ingredients artfully prepared and presented. I can particularly recommend Bo Xao Dua, which was a highlight both in terms of taste and appearance. In summary, I can highly recommend Sao Mai. It's the perfect place for special occasions or simply to indulge in an evening of pampering. A big compliment to the entire team – I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

A nice Vietnamese restaurant that also offers Thai soups. The price was pretty reasonable and special requests were catered for without any problems. I paid around €22 for a Tom Kha Gai, a Spezi and rice tagliatelle with crispy chicken in peanut sauce. I will be very happy to come back.

We were visiting Nuremberg and tried Sao Mai. Unfortunately we found the food very Germanized. The taste that we know from Vietnamese food was completely missing. We eat Vietnamese several times a month in Cologne and Berlin and therefore know the tastes very well, but unfortunately it was missing. Maybe the audience in Nuremberg wants it to be less authentic. The staff and ambience were definitely very nice.

I ate there a few days ago and haven't been able to stop raving about the food ever since. The ambience is reminiscent of the streets of Hanoi and you immediately feel comfortable and in good hands. The food is fantastic, the Bun Nem and Pho taste phenomenally delicious and authentic and are already my go-to dishes when I eat there. I will definitely come more often and can only highly recommend it!

I felt like I was in Hoi An! I immediately missed Vietnam. The food is absolutely delicious and fresh, comes quickly and is reasonably priced. I was there for lunch and had summer rolls as a starter and red curry with flat rice noodles as a main course. I managed both well and am full now. (But I also eat a lot). The summer rolls were very fresh. The duck was perfectly crispy, tasted high quality and not too fatty. I can definitely recommend it!! There is also a lot to choose from for vegetarians and vegans.
