A very busy restaurant! The food is super tasty, fresh! Very friendly service and moderate prices!

Large selection of different Vietnamese dishes, some Thai and Chinese dishes and drinks available. We had four different main courses and 2 starters. Everything was fresh, tasty and to the point and the waitresses were very friendly. Gladly again ☺️

Washed up here after a long hike in the heat. Smelled good, we liked the atmosphere. We sat outside on the wooden benches in the shade, phew. Extremely hospitable owner who talked to everyone, but didn't forget to keep the wishes of the waiting guests in mind. The three of us shared a coconut soup with shrimps, duck with vegetables and 2 summer rolls. Pleasantly surprised at the good quality. We also enjoyed the Sauvignon Blanc as well as the mango and coconut shake. Unexpectedly surprisingly good!

We got a table at short notice during the peak visitor time. The food is super tasty, absolutely fresh and yet it didn't take long. The service was very friendly. Everything seems familiar and makes you feel good.

The service was very quick and friendly. The fried flat rice noodles with duck tasted good. The fried udon noodles with tofu were not that tasty, they were too greasy and tasted a bit stale and strange, but the tofu was good.

Fantastic. Normally I would write in more detail, but you can't find enough words here. Everyone should come by here and be surprised. The food is incredibly good, even if the prices are high (which they are allowed to be, because the quality is unbelievably good). Terrific.

Simply very tasty and authentic cuisine... Thai and Vietnamese... you can ask for spicy cuisine, the papaya salad is a hit, the red Thai curry is a poem. If I lived in Nuremberg, this would be my favorite bar. The different nuances of Vietnamese cuisine and Thai cuisine are well brought out. Very loving everything and a little chaotic. Like in Hanoi. Tasty tasty.

The food is very disappointing. I ordered Bun Cha but it's nothing close to the authentic version, very salty sauce and wrong cooking type of meat. The salad is not correct type for Bun Cha as well. Hope the owner will take care of their food better to serve authentic Vietnamese food for foreigners. It was good a few years before.

I've picked up food for work here several times. The food is delicious. The prices from the lunch menu are impeccable. Ate there for the first time today. It tasted fantastic again. Absolutely recommended based on the food and friendliness. The service was great. I would like to continue to come

Nice staff and delicious food. However, I wanted to pay by card and I was only told that you can only do this for an amount of €15 or more when the amount and everything was already in the device. This should be communicated in advance. So what was actually an inexpensive lunch has become unnecessarily more expensive.

Great Great Asian restaurant. The meal are big with lot vegetables. All we order are so great, pho, spring rool,curry rice..... Salmon and 🥑 salad is amazing, the salmon is deep fried.

I always enjoy coming here and for the first time I ordered beef pho. Upon request, I received my food without herbs. With the onions and spring onions, the noodle soup was very tasty. The quantity is good and I also got limes and chillies. Of course there was also Sriracha. I'm not a foodie, but the broth doesn't taste like instant broth to me :) The service is very friendly, as always, so a big thumbs up!

The lights are dim. As an Asian who has eaten Vietnamese food in many countries, this restaurant is really not authentic at all. It completely fools foreigners. The ingredients are chopped into large pieces and perfunctory. I don’t know how I got such a high score. There are other delicious Vietnamese restaurants in Nuremberg, but Vietnamese food is definitely not like this! Don't come

I had the pleasure of dining in Sao Mai recently and it was an absolutely outstanding experience. From the moment I walked in I felt like a valued guest. The ambience is stylish and inviting, with a perfect balance of elegance and coziness. The service was first class. The staff was attentive, friendly and always willing to respond to our requests without seeming intrusive. The menu is a culinary journey that leaves nothing to be desired. Each course was a masterpiece in itself, with fresh ingredients artfully prepared and presented. I can particularly recommend Bo Xao Dua, which was a highlight both in terms of taste and appearance. In summary, I can highly recommend Sao Mai. It's the perfect place for special occasions or simply to indulge in an evening of pampering. A big compliment to the entire team – I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

A nice Vietnamese restaurant that also offers Thai soups. The price was pretty reasonable and special requests were catered for without any problems. I paid around €22 for a Tom Kha Gai, a Spezi and rice tagliatelle with crispy chicken in peanut sauce. I will be very happy to come back.

We were visiting Nuremberg and tried Sao Mai. Unfortunately we found the food very Germanized. The taste that we know from Vietnamese food was completely missing. We eat Vietnamese several times a month in Cologne and Berlin and therefore know the tastes very well, but unfortunately it was missing. Maybe the audience in Nuremberg wants it to be less authentic. The staff and ambience were definitely very nice.

I ate there a few days ago and haven't been able to stop raving about the food ever since. The ambience is reminiscent of the streets of Hanoi and you immediately feel comfortable and in good hands. The food is fantastic, the Bun Nem and Pho taste phenomenally delicious and authentic and are already my go-to dishes when I eat there. I will definitely come more often and can only highly recommend it!

Sao Mai offers delightful Asian flavors with generous portions perfect for solo diners. The Thai curry was really good. Despite not being overly crowded, the cozy seating area adds to the charm of the place.

I felt like I was in Hoi An! I immediately missed Vietnam. The food is absolutely delicious and fresh, comes quickly and is reasonably priced. I was there for lunch and had summer rolls as a starter and red curry with flat rice noodles as a main course. I managed both well and am full now. (But I also eat a lot). The summer rolls were very fresh. The duck was perfectly crispy, tasted high quality and not too fatty. I can definitely recommend it!! There is also a lot to choose from for vegetarians and vegans.

We ate here two days in a row because it was simply delicious. You don't have to wait half an hour for your food, the food is freshly prepared and the taste is excellent. The staff is friendly and the price-performance ratio is also right. Absolute recommendation!

The dinner I ordered showed up on menu containing baby corn and spinach but in real I just had fried noodles and chicken with almost no sign of vegetables

That was actually nothing, the food was tasteless, oversalted and the sauce was greasy. Maybe okay as a take-away, but not recommended in the evening. Benches uncomfortable.

Looking for something to eat in the evening - and found it. Nice small restaurant with an Asian feeling and nice staff. Good spring rolls and Thai curry, with extra fresh chilies if desired.

I went twice in three days, the first time in the, evening, the second time for lunch. The night before it was full, otherwise i would have gone three times in three days! The first evening i had Cha La Lot, meat in la lot leaves. Absolutely delicious. The second time i had Pho, which was good, but it was the first time i had pho without the additions (e.g. mint, coriander, lime, bean shoots) being served on the side, but everything was already in the bowl. The meat (beef) was a very generous serving.

Ich war heute zum ersten Mal im Sao Mai mit einem Kumpel und seinem Sohn. Das Essen war sehr lecker und gut, die Bedienung total freundlich und nett.

Einfach nur sensationell gut 😃 mehr kann ich gar nicht sagen, es war mein Erster von sicherlich vielen Besuchen, absolut empfehlenswert

Tolles Restaurant mit guter und auch relativ authentischen thailändischen Essen! Ich war schon viele Male Dort und es ist immer wieder super lecker und bringe dort auch gerne Freunde hin zum Essen!

Total leckeres Essen. Hatte einen Kokosnussshake, eine Tomaten-Ananas-Suppe und eine Mango-Sauce mit Salat und Reis, einfach herrlich!!!

War letzte Woche hier und habe kurzfristig einen Platz bekommen. Mit zwei Personen war es ohne Reservierung aber schon knapp. Die Bedienung war aufmerksam freundlich und schnell. Das Essen war richtig richtig gut.
