Santos Tapas Bar Cafeteria in Nürnberg

Actually, 3.5 stars. Santos used to be one of my favorite restaurants (back when you could still throw peanuts on the floor), but these days the food lacks that certain something. The dishes are still quite good, but not as refined as they used to be. The aioli and olives, however, are very tasty. The ambiance and service are excellent.

We chose this restaurant for New Year's Eve and everything was perfect, the staff very friendly and the tapas excellent. Prices were also reasonable, we'll definitely go again 👍🏻

Precisely because New Year's Eve is a special day, it should have been a special evening. Instead, it had all the charm of a cafeteria. Tables were double-booked. Some of the food (beef fillet) was cold, and the service was practically nonexistent, except for the time we managed to catch a staff member hurrying by. We wouldn't have left a review otherwise, but we did receive an annoying reminder email.

Gluten-free options are also available, the service is very friendly, and the food is very good.

It's gotten much worse since last time. The food arrived within 5 minutes and was lukewarm. It tasted like nothing, but smelled like it was frozen and Chef Mike. The service only came to serve and take payment, which I wouldn't have minded if the food had been any good. :( The atmosphere is still cozy, but all in all, it's a complete waste of time.

The tapas bar is an authentic little tapas place. The dishes are incredibly delicious, but the portions are a bit small or expensive. Perfect if you want to escape to Spain for an evening. Two thumbs up!

The restaurant is a bit small, however cosy. The ambience is full of positivity, and this is the biggest plus of this place. Service is all about smiles. We ordered 2 types of chicken, 2 types of fish and a cheese tapas. The taste was authentic and although the dishes seemed small when they were served, it was quite filling by the time we were done eating. Definitely worth a visit!

I did like this place, my atmosphere score reflects the cramped spacing. This is only because I come from a country with ample room so culturally different.

The food was quite good, but unfortunately, the draft was so bad that it was extremely uncomfortable. Even changing seats didn't really help. That's unacceptable for a restaurant visit. The server tried her best and called the manager. He said the heating should be turned off, as it would get too hot when the place was full. Other guests left because of this. The food wasn't really hot either, and at €7-8 per tapas, it was definitely on the pricier side. We weren't offered a refund for our drinks or any other form of compensation. We won't be going back there.

I travel a lot to southern countries, so I think I can draw a comparison. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, the atmosphere very pleasant, and all the tapas except the boquerones were good. What I absolutely criticize, however, is the quantity. How can they charge such a price for such small quantities? Absolutely outrageous.

This was our last time there for a while... The service was unfortunately terrible, and an hour before they closed, while we were still sitting there eating, the music was already turned off. We felt extremely unwelcome. Unfortunately, that's just not acceptable...

We visited this restaurant for the first time and were absolutely thrilled! Everything was top-notch: the food, the service, and the atmosphere. We'd especially like to mention our waitress, Daria – she helped us choose our dishes, and each one was incredibly delicious and original. Everything was served quickly and with great attention. Nice tapas bar, but 95% of the food was cheap frozen food. We've rarely eaten so badly. It's also overpriced. We felt like we were being ripped off. For example, 4 rubber rings (in real life, calamari) for €7.20. Dried-out mini sardines, langostinus were shrimp stuck together, and bolitas were horrible, rubbery cheese balls with the consistency of a car tire. The best thing was the seltzer water, but you couldn't go wrong with that either. Never, never again.

We spontaneously decided to try the restaurant. We were very lucky that a table was available when we arrived, otherwise, a reservation is highly recommended! 🙏🏽 The restaurant is quite small, but the atmosphere is still very nice. The kitchen is also in the same room, so it got really warm at times. One small downside regarding the ambiance. The sangria was very tasty. The tapas selection is quite extensive. My favorite was the chorizo ​​con patatas. But all the tapas were delicious. We had the almond cake for dessert. It wasn't a must-try... unfortunately, it was very dry. The staff was very nice and polite. We'll definitely be back 😊

While searching for a new tapas bar for our child-free evening, we stumbled upon this small, cozy bar. After the very easy online reservation process the day before, we were able to get a wonderful table for two by the open patio door, despite our 15-minute delay, which further emphasized the warm and cozy Spanish atmosphere. After choosing our delicacies with and without meat from the extensive tapas menu (some with recommendations from the very friendly and attentive staff), we were neither disappointed by the dishes themselves nor by the speed of preparation. The "simple red house wine" also went perfectly with the food and rounded off the relaxed evening with a holiday feeling. Here, our expectations and what was offered were a wonderful match ;-) I would say we've found "our" tapas bar!

Four of us came here and tried a bunch of things. The place is very nicely decorated, but the tables are a bit narrow. I also liked that the kitchen was open. The ones I kept were the following: — meatballs with almond sauce: a very strong dish; — dates wrapped in crispy bacon: I had never tried anything like that before, but it counted. The rest of the dishes were classics: grilled shrimp with garlic on a skewer, sardines, fried squid, small green peppers on the coals. A successful evening, the finest tapas, a lovely ambiance, and friendly service. And all this just 20 meters from Albrecht Dürer Platz, in the beautiful area of ​​Nuremberg Castle. At a fair price, the Santos Tapas Bar is highly recommended for anyone who appreciates a fine selection of tapas, enjoys a conversation at a "normal" volume in a small, cozy restaurant, and enjoys the Spanish joie de vivre.

We went there for tapas. The value for money wasn't good. The portions were much too small for the price. The food came very quickly, which can be a good thing or a bad thing. The waiters were friendly but a bit unmotivated. Nice atmosphere – but if the restaurant had been full, it would have been too small and very cramped.

I ate here with my wife. Everything was delicious, and the staff and service were excellent! We'll definitely be back.

A small, charming tapas bar with flair – perfect for a cozy evening. The atmosphere is relaxed, the staff friendly, and the bar overall clean and tidy. The tapas were really delicious, I especially enjoyed the garlic bread and the patatas. However, the chicken skewer in honey sauce didn't convince me – the meat was too tough for me. The sangria was also rather average – although I have to admit, I've just returned from Spain and still remember the original taste. 🙃 All in all, a nice place where you can eat well and enjoy the evening – with some minor reservations regarding the selection. I'd be happy to come back!

We've been here many times in the last 76 years. But it seems that the management has changed. The food was served too fast. Actually as fast as the drinks arrived at the table. And it was not a busy time. This is not okay at all. You'd wanna a have a sip of your wine before food. And anyway the food was complicated enough to take a bit of time. Not okay.

A pleasant experience, which was unfortunately overshadowed by a promotion. Very friendly service, a cozy atmosphere, good tapas, and pleasant wine. While we and other guests were still sitting at our tables, the waitress had already started spraying the next table with a chemical cleaning spray. Completely oblivious to the fact that the chemical spray was spreading into the air and onto our food. Absolutely no-go! A cloth with hot water and/or dish soap will do the trick!

A very nice restaurant with wonderful service. The food is tasty, but not spectacular. It's a shame they don't have croquetas, and I missed a few other Spanish classics. Still, a very nice atmosphere with great wine and a beautiful interior. I'll definitely be back.

The atmosphere is warm and relaxed, and the staff is attentive, friendly, and genuinely committed to ensuring guests have a great evening. The tapas themselves? Simply fantastic! From classic patatas bravas to grilled prawns to unusual creations – everything was lovingly presented, freshly prepared, and tasted to perfection. I would particularly like to highlight the homemade aioli, which was wonderfully creamy, and the bacon-wrapped dates – a poem! The wine selection was also excellent and perfectly complemented the meal. The homemade lemonades and cocktails from the bar are also delicious. You can tell that the cooking here is done with real passion. Even small special requests were accommodated without any problems. The price-performance ratio is absolutely fair for the quality offered. Whether for a romantic evening for two or a convivial evening with friends, Santos is definitely worth recommending. We'll definitely be back!

We were here for a relaxed stag or hen party, and it was fantastic. The team took so much time and made us very popular with their charm. I was a bit concerned at first because of my celiac disease, but the service was excellent. Despite the offer of bread, which was only a brief oversight, we found several great tapas, which I had.

Beautiful, stylishly decorated tapas bar right in the old town. We received a friendly welcome after our online reservation and were served warmly throughout the evening. The tapas we ordered were consistently good, but not quite top-notch. For example, the Canarian potatoes lacked the classic salt crust. We missed the salt on the shrimp skewer. It was generally lacking a finishing touch. On the other hand, the prices are quite above average, presumably due to the location. The San Miguel, which is on tap here, slightly compensates for this. All in all, a good Spanish restaurant – highly recommended! 👍

We visited the Santos Tapas Bar with four people on May 23, 2025, and it was simply fantastic! The food was incredibly delicious – a great selection of tapas, all freshly and tastefully prepared. We particularly enjoyed the patatas bravas and the prawns al ajillo. The service was also excellent: very friendly, attentive, and quick. The staff really went out of their way to ensure we had a wonderful evening. The ambiance was also cozy and inviting – perfect for a relaxing evening with friends. A definite recommendation – we'd love to come back!

Beautiful, sweet place to hang out with friends and enjoy super delicious tapas. I personally came with shrimps with garlic chili oil highly recommend we also ordered fried peppers with coarse more salt fried potatoes with spicy sauce. We ordered alioli as a sauce. very attentive service staff. Super good wines, especially the house wine is highly recommended. For dessert we ordered churros and Spanish crème brûlée, all very tasty. We were very well served and had a wonderful evening for six. 🌸🙋🏼‍♀️ Always happy!

5 stars – A real gem! I absolutely loved this tapas bar! The atmosphere is super cozy and authentic – you almost feel like you’re in Spain. The tapas were incredibly tasty, freshly prepared and beautifully presented. Particularly recommended: scampi marinated in oil and the Bolitas de Manchego with fig jam are a dream! The service was also great: super friendly, attentive and fast. The wine selection was also great and went perfectly with the food. I'll definitely be back - a must for anyone who loves tapas!

Yesterday we were guests at this tapas bar with several people and overall we were largely satisfied with our visit and the service provided. We tested many of the tapas offered on the menu, most of which we found to be good and tasty, but some were missing that certain something. The portions of the individual tapas are not particularly large and are usually more suitable for one person, so that they are less likely to be shared between two or three people. We found the price of the tapas, which were always served to us super quickly, to be reasonable for the portion size. Unfortunately, the sangria served couldn't convince us. The restaurant is really nicely decorated and overall offers a really nice, rustic atmosphere to linger in with the charm of a small tapas bar, even if it is a bit cramped at times. A big compliment goes to the great service, which was super friendly and very attentive, and kept asking if everything was OK with us. Overall, we are happy to recommend this tapas bar. At the same time, however, we also have to say that we have already been to tapas bars where we were even more impressed with the taste of the tapas and with larger portions.

The food isn't as good as last year, it's a shame, we won't be back for the money. And the portion is very small.

I enjoyed it under the previous owner, and I've been back several times now, during the coronavirus pandemic, afterward, and just last weekend. But what can I say, it's fantastic. I just love Santos :) Really delicious tapas, nice atmosphere, friendly staff, good wines, and they have Carajillo :)
