Great food, but unfortunately, the "better" dishes like tuna nigiri and the like arrive quite late... so the more expensive items arrive late so less of them are consumed. Otherwise, the staff is friendly, and the rolling buffet lets you control your own eating pace.

We ate there for the second time today and were unfortunately disappointed. You're essentially just paying for the "experience" of food from a conveyor belt. Despite making a reservation, we had to wait. The staff is very nice. The food is basically the same as at any other XY Chinese buffet restaurant. The wasabi was like play dough, the jelly was still runny. All this for a price of €30, so unfortunately, the price-performance ratio isn't right, hence only 2 stars.

We wanted to eat there again for our wedding anniversary. Despite having a reservation, we were seated at the end of the conveyor belt. The restaurant was still half empty at 12 p.m. When we asked the waitress, she said the other "better" tables were all reserved. We had reserved three months in advance. At the end of the conveyor belt, no nigiris with salmon, etc., arrived. Vegetarian sushi, chicken wings, and fried mushrooms aren't really worth it. We were very disappointed. We drove all the way from Oberhausen. Addendum: After Sakura's response, I now realize it's my own fault. First, I made the reservation on July 5th and not three months ago; second, I didn't specify "convection belt" in the reservation; third, I didn't understand Sakura's concept; and fourth, €20 per person is OK for vegetarian sushi, chicken wings, and fried mushrooms. Unfortunately, it's become overpriced, and often some items aren't on the menu, like hazelnut sauce. It used to be really good and tasty there, but now it's unfortunately mediocre to weak.

Unfortunately, it's difficult to eat with more than two people, as the conveyor belts run along the end of the tables, meaning the two people sitting next to the conveyor belts are constantly busy serving. And these cost-cutting measures are unfortunately somewhat tarnishing the overall picture, especially when you consider the price. The new plates seem rather cheap compared to the old ones. They no longer offer high-quality reusable chopsticks, only disposable wooden ones, which aren't as good for eating. Rather unusual for a local restaurant. Furthermore, the drinks are also simply from the discount store next door. Aldi's own-brand iced tea. What bothers me most, though, is that the soy sauce is no longer Kikkoman. You can unfortunately taste it. All in all, this cost-cutting at every turn with the cheapest products and premium prices leaves a bad feeling. POSTSCRIPT: No, I didn't mistake the restaurant and was just there yesterday. If necessary, I can post photos of our stay. And we used to get the black reusable chopsticks as standard. I can't imagine most guests preferring these cheap wooden chopsticks. I mean the white, square, oblong plates/bowls. The new black, round plastic plates with integrated soy sauce compartments look cheap and unsightly. And no, selling discount iced tea at a premium price has nothing to do with quality.

The selection arrives on a hot and cold conveyor belt. Dishes change after a certain amount of time, but they come back again. A 1.5-hour visit is more than sufficient. To sit on the conveyor belt, you should definitely make a reservation in advance. We haven't ordered anything from the menu yet, but the hot plates give a good indication of freshness and flavor. There's a sufficient selection for vegetarians; I personally don't know much about vegans. The service was very attentive and friendly, and they even brought us a small extra plate fresh from the kitchen. A tip is always welcome :) The premises are a bit dated but very clean, and the noise level is pleasant. The price-performance ratio is a bit expensive, but reasonable. You should definitely treat yourself sometime :)

Very disappointing - never again! We recently went to Sakura Bochum for the all-you-can-eat and I have to honestly say: it was a disaster. The sushi was dry, tasteless and smelled unpleasant - absolutely inedible. The chicken meat was also of very poor quality, tough and tasted disgusting. The food as a whole tasted old and completely bland. I really can't recommend this restaurant to anyone. For an all-you-can-eat experience, this was just disappointing – never again!

I was just horrified by the waiter's answers. In the evening you pay 27.90 euros + drink. Which isn't a small thing, but it's okay if you get good food. In the basement we said that the sushi was very old and very dry and the meat and vegetables that were on the conveyor belt were no longer that fresh. The answer was if you want fresh food you have to come at 5:30 p.m. not 8 p.m.

I have been a customer since 2013 and have always been very satisfied. I go there regularly with family and friends. Everyone has been thrilled so far. Even though I don't eat sushi, I have a lot to choose from. The staff is awesome! I have rarely experienced such good service and ALWAYS! There are no bad days in service. I have one small point of criticism. The food isn't as hot as it used to be. It could be because many customers leave the sliding doors open or don't close them properly... I feel completely at home with you and am always happy to discover new things on your plates. Thank you for the many great hours with you!

Mediocre and boring sushi at a high price. €27.90 per person without drinks is simply very expensive. The atmosphere was not cozy and the selection, especially for vegetarians, was rather poor. For the money you can definitely eat better and of higher quality. Most of the reviews about “Running Sushi” are probably so enthusiastic because they have never had good sushi. Unfortunately, the food wasn't convincing. Neither is the ambience.

A colleague once recommended this sushi 🍣 restaurant to me. Today I tried it. The dishes run past one on two conveyor belts, one above the other. Above are the warm cold dishes below. If you want to eat something, you open a flap and can take it from one of the treadmills. This is a nice idea in itself. But what really annoyed me were two children. They sat with their mother on the other side of the treadmill. Every now and then they reached through the flaps and wanted to grab a plate from the conveyor belt. Sometimes they weren't fast enough and then touched the food on the plates with their arms or they took a plate but put it back on the conveyor belt a little later. Of course, this wasn't always possible without touching the food on it It doesn't work at all. I agree. Therefore, this treadmill idea is a bit problematic from a hygiene perspective. The food itself was very tasty 😋 and you could take as much as you wanted from the conveyor belt. Drinks were served quickly. Card payment is possible.

The selection at “Running Sushi” is really extensive. From classic sushi to warm skewers to soup and fresh Eastern, there is something for every taste. Unfortunately, individual “versions” were only very rarely available.

Good running sushi. We like everything very much, the service is very friendly, and the atmosphere is also good. The food travels over 2 lanes. The hot dishes are in the top and the cold ones are in the bottom. The only thing I don't like is that the ice is in the back left corner. We are always placed on the right side and then have a long walk to the ice, which is sometimes not a bad thing if you have to move around a bit 😉. We are always very satisfied and always come back.

Unfortunately, the service was extremely poor. You walk in and stand in the entrance. No one comes; you're left standing there, even though all the waiters saw you (they walked right past us). It always took a really long time to get served or pay. The tables that weren't on the conveyor belt were all empty, so it wasn't completely full. The food was good, but because of the poor service, I wouldn't recommend it.

Pretty much my favorite sushi shop in the Ruhr area. The background music can sometimes be a bit monotonous, as the other guests' conversations mean that not much of the music reaches your ears. But that's complaining at a very high level. Sakura is a super good sushi shop that will hopefully be around for a long time.

Eat deliciously. Price/performance also good. Service very nice and polite. Clear recommendation for sushi lovers.

At Sakura, Asian all-you-can-eat is with a difference. You basically sit next to an assembly line and can help yourself as often as you like. The time is normally limited to 90 minutes. The atmosphere was cozy. And the food tasted good. We'll definitely be back.

Was there for the first time today. - The food tasted very good - There was a good selection, especially there was a good "mix" between sweet and savory - The employees were super nice, the service was really good. The plates were quickly cleared away and the question was not annoying, but rather well-timed, whether you would like something more to drink. - Bonus: Unfortunately, we didn't pay attention to the clock and parked a little longer than the tolerated 2 hours. The nice waiter pointed out to us that next time we were welcome to give the license plate number beforehand so that the restaurant could somehow arrange that we were allowed to park there longer. But even after he noticed that we had parked for more than 2 hours, he gave us a business card and pointed out that we were welcome to forward the bill. All in all: Highly recommended!

Unfortunately the food wasn't tasty. The pork was undercooked and too mushy. The service is very intrusive and the room is much too big and too loud. More than 6 people should not eat as a group as this would not be possible at one table. There isn't much meat to choose from, but there is a large selection of side dishes. The evening buffet price is too high for that.

Despite reservations and punctuality, we had to wait outside the door for 15 minutes because we always had to wait until a table became available. It was dry and OK, if it had rained we would have driven again. After we were able to get in, we were sent to a table relatively harshly (without a word of welcome or apology). As soon as we arrived, the harsh question came about the buffet and drinks...we only received a drinks menu when we asked. After our tone became a little sharper, the service became friendlier. It was noticeable that some tables were not on the conveyor belt, but on the other side of the room, so the guests had to get up every time and wait at the end of the conveyor belt. The tables on the treadmill are very narrow, and at 1.92m you have to struggle to fit in. The food was a very positive surprise and was mostly good quality and tasty. Do mushrooms have to be canned? But meat, fish and sushi were good. Unfortunately, later on (we had booked 2.5 hours) numerous large gaps arose or the variety decreased and the same thing often happened - the chocolate pudding, for example, was only served once in 2 hours. Overall, we had hoped for more, the price is certainly okay, but there is a lot of room for improvement and that doesn't mean the food.

However, customer service has now dropped to an unacceptable level, which after today's visit I have to say, it was the last time here today! Five of us came. When the waiter came he said, is it all buffet? I said no, even from the menu. Oh, he said, all cards. I then said no, 2 card, 3 buffet. No, that wouldn't work. I then argued with him for a while because we had already broken up several times. Then he blamed it on his boss. I didn't let up until he gave up and called the boss. She then explained to us that this would have been possible before, but that it had now been changed. Either ... or. It's now also on the HP, albeit hidden in a long text. So we all decided to have a buffet. When we were about finished, she came back and asked if it was tasty. There are plenty of other sushi shops in Bochum. It won't be Sakura any more soon...🤷🏼‍♂️

Today I was at Sakura's for the third time, I have to say at a very long interval. The food and service were top notch as always. The only point of criticism I would like to suggest is that the waitress could perhaps make sure that the guests close the acrylic doors on the belt while eating. It is very unappetizing when in front of you on the line, in your line of sight, a lady with a full and open mouth is coughing and talking at the food passing by. I know you have absolutely nothing to do with the etiquette of individual guests. So maybe this is a suggestion.

We have been eating at Sakura every now and then since it opened, and now also with our daughter. I would therefore say that we are also among the “regulars”. We are always warmly welcomed and our daughter is always very friendly too. Both the food and the service are impeccable. We are always happy when there is a new “creation” that you can try. I find the selection varied and consistently prepared fresh and delicious. Even if it happens that there is a bit of "air" on the conveyor belt because the restaurant/tables are completely full, we work hard to ensure that more is added and if something is missing, you can let the waitress know, it will even be done brought to the table. The tables are always clean and you can request cutlery. All you have to do is speak, the waitress can't read your mind... I can't understand some of the bad reviews. Instead of politely making the staff aware of their displeasure, they would rather cowardly write a bad review here. Every customer is also somewhat responsible for themselves. Conclusion: For us it is the No. 1 sushi restaurant and we will definitely continue to eat there. :)

We are repeat offenders here. Small portions that go straight past the table on the conveyor belt. Cold at the bottom and hot at the top. Due to the size of the portions, you can try everything and it happens again and again, so you can (unfortunately😉) have it again and again (have to🫣). The variety of dishes means there is something for everyone. The dessert is also bomb. In addition to fresh fruit, there is pudding and in a special area you can also enjoy ice cream (and not just two types). So now to our very popular service staff, who are always attentive and friendly. If something is missing, they make almost everything possible.

Very nice welcome and after ordering the drinks we started eating straight away. The cold food runs on the lower conveyor and the warm food runs on the upper one. A really rich selection of dishes passed us by, so that in the end we left the restaurant full and happy. Rest assured, we'll be back.
