Saigon Food Restaurant in Berlin

Very friendly and attentive staff. The food was good, even if it wasn't really to my taste. The portions were quite large and generous. The ambiance fits the neighborhood.

Nice people, so I'm sorry to say this: The food is unfortunately some of the worst I've ever had in a Vietnamese restaurant and, IMHO, has little to do with "authentic" cuisine.

A for effort B for execution C for the Saigon restaurant that tries to serve Vietnamese food I'm sure for many univited this place lives up to hype but this ain't Vietnamese food. Its catered for Germans, lacks the spice levels, lacks the hint of penuatiwhere needed. The chicken salad lacked the rice vinegar, the pickled carrots, the chicken used was breast not leg, no peanuts ... Abd the list goes on. To their credit the waiter apologized when he realized the ethnical roots of his audience but the kitchen failed to deliver. I'm happy we tried it but wouldn't put it on my list of places to try out.

The restaurant is great, I had pho soup and duck.

Impeccable service and great food. Diverse and interesting menu. Crowded at times, so it may be a good idea to book a table before coming (online booking available!).

Das Restaurant liegt unweit von der U-Bahn Nollendorfplatz. Die Nollendorfstraße liegt in der Ecke zum Nollendorfplatz. Das Restaurant ist in der Ecke gelegen und ist unscheinbar. Wenn man reinkommt, besticht die Räumlichkeit nicht durch außergewöhnliche Atmosphäre. Dafür ist aber das Essen extrem lecker. Die Auswahl ist zwar nicht sehr groß, aber das was wir hatten, war extrem gut gemacht. Die Zutaten waren frisch, das Fleisch war hervorragend, der Reis war sehr sehr lecker. Für ein asiatisches Restaurant ist die Weinauswahl exzellent. Der Service ist zuvorkommend und schnell. Die hatten nichts auszusetzen und kommen definitiv wieder. Insbesondere stimmt auch das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis.

I had dinner in May. The selection is authentic Vietnamese food. There attention to food taste, to balance, to texture, you can distinguish freshness and spiciness in same dish. Typical Vietnamese, Asian flavors with a western influenced technique. After traveling to Vietnam, I had been looking for long time for this specific balance. The place honors the true Vietnamese kitchen. Thank you very much

Muy buena comida, se obtiene exactamente lo que pide y la calidad es de primera. Tenía los rollitos de primavera con salsa de pescado que sabía increíble, creo que tenía el Bun Gao Xao con pato, si no recuerdo mal para el plato principal, que estaba bueno, el pato estaba tal vez un poco seco, pero en general sabía bien.

It was another very nice evening at Saigon Food. The pho and dim sum were very tasty, we wouldn't order the curry next time, it was well seasoned, but it was reminiscent of an Indian dish.

We like everything here very much and can recommend it with a clear conscience. If you want and look, you will find little things that are not perfect (chopped peanuts according to the menu are sometimes peanuts with a lot of fried onions, maybe a piece of meat is not perfect), but everything is very harmonious and tasty. Go there and enjoy it. If you want to come with several people, I would make a reservation.

Great food here. After four minutes my food was brought to me. If you don't want to cook, Saigon is the perfect restaurant. Short waiting time and delicious food.

Below average at best when it comes to food. The menu was promising, but unfortunately the dishes weren't. For example, the salad that you put on your plate with every dish, without love, straight out of the bag. One order was specifically without carrots due to allergies. The finished salad still came on the plate with carrots. They then tried to collect the individual carrots from the salad, which was not completely successful. After complaining again, the one meal was free. When choosing in Berlin, the restaurant will not see us again. This is much better for the same price.

Wir hatten reserviert und damit auch ausreichend Platz für den Rollstuhl. Für die paar Stufen am Eingang wurde uns sogar eine Rampe angeboten. Wir hatten einen schönen Abend und haben sehr gut gegessen.

The broth of the pho was so bland it tasted like plain water, and on top of that, there was an unpleasant sewer smell. The portion of noodles and other ingredients was small, leaving almost nothing to eat. They got the order wrong, but there wasn’t even a word of apology or any mention of how long it would take to fix. In Vietnam, pork is usually served barbecue-style, but here it was just dry, steamed meat. It tasted terrible... In conclusion, there's no need to go out of your way to visit this place. If you do go, avoid ordering these two dishes, and instead, try the "Pungpang Curry," a Thai dish, not Vietnamese food. We had to wait until after 8 PM to have dinner since we were sightseeing and were really hungry. Despite the good reviews, the food didn’t taste good, which we didn’t expect at all. But since we had already placed the order, we had to pay for it. Is it fair that we have to leave it behind and waste it? My order was wrong, and I had to wait until the correct dish came out. And when a pillar fell and almost hit someone’s head, there was no apology. Saying you did your best is just laughable.

My main meal was delicious - tofu and veg in peanut sauce with coconut milk. The only problem was that it was served on a plate, which didn’t work well for a saucy dish. If it was in a bowl it would have been perfect. Restaurant was quite busy when we were there (7pm on a Friday). Clientele generally seemed pretty middle aged. Overall, the food was nice and inexpensive, the restaurant had a pleasant, calm vibe, and the staff were nice. I would definitely go back.

Tasty, cheap and super fast. The Asian snack bar taken to a higher level. There are two cards available in the evening. Normal menu and evening menu. You will be overwhelmed by so much choice. The prices are very reasonable for the portion delivered. Due to the many options, the sauces seem a bit thin and the vegetables are very manageable on the plate, but not untasty.

Excellent Vietnamese restaurant in the heart of Schöneberg, on a very quiet street but very close to everything. Outstanding service and spectacular food. Highly recommended.

This was our third time in Berlin and our third visit to Saigon food. It was a Friday night and we hadn’t booked (oops) but the owner was fantastic and managed to accommodate us. Food is delicious - spring rolls particularly good and the deep fried duck breast green curry was amazing.

We were there at lunchtime. Tofu salad as a starter - very tasty, can be shared. Curry with tofu as the main course - also very tasty. Simple but good. Service was nice. I would come again.

We chose this restaurant based on the top reviews and were disappointed. Very small portions for the price, average taste. Definitely not coming back.

We were there a little earlier (30 minutes) and were still able to take a seat. Everything happened very quickly and everything was incredibly fresh and very, very tasty 🤤🤤😍😍 My absolute favorite is the Pho with 3 different types of meat. There are also toppings on a separate plate like Vietnman 🤤

We had a meal here during our stay which was superb. There is an extensive menu to choose from and it’s great value for money. Service and food were both excellent. It was about €25 per person for starts mains and soft drinks including tip. Would highly recommend.

The good reviews convinced us, so we went. Overall it was pretty good, but I wouldn't go there again. First we waited half an hour for the order and then another ~15 minutes for the food, even though we were almost the only ones there. Hmm. Service was still very nice. Food okee, compared to other Vietnamese in the price range. For my €10.90 curry I can expect more elsewhere. Ambience rather “cheap”. (disposable sticks)
