Sahara Imbiss - Schöneberg in Berlin

The food tastes so good, there are few places in Berlin that I think of again and again when it comes to food.

Sahara, the Sudanese classic in Berlin. Since every restaurant is a little different, the Sahara in Schöneberg really stands out for me, with slightly lower prices (but still generous portions) and, most importantly, it's not as crowded as other locations. The food: Very tasty, the highlight being, of course, the classic Sudanese sauces (peanut, hot, and sesame!) and the creamy foie gras. Highly recommended.

Very tasty food at great prices. The portions are huge, the service is friendly, there's plenty of seating, and it's close to the subway.

A significant drop in quality compared to previous meals. Bland taste. Falafel very dry. Sandwich haphazardly squashed together. And all this for €7 per sandwich. What a shame!

I truly enjoyed trying the foul and falafel sandwich along with the falafel and makalai sandwich at the local Middle Eastern restaurant. The foul and falafel sandwich was a bit on the oily side, which made it less appealing for me personally, but I appreciate how hearty and straightforward it is. Overall, my experience was quite average perhaps best enjoyed when you're very hungry since the flavors are simple and the texture can be a bit greasy. Still, I think it’s worth a try if you're craving something filling and satisfying.

It's amazing how different the same restaurant can be. Excellent service and delicious food. I recommend trying it.

The tastiest falafel in all of Berlin

I’ve been to this place many times for last three years. What I noticed is that they don’t change the frying oil the whole day which is harmful to people. The people who work there are nice but there is this thin and tall man that I have seen verbally abusing the waiters on multiple occasions as I pass by. I don’t know how this is allowed to happen. I don’t recommend this place to anyone.

This place offers an authentic Saharan Imbiss experience - with sticky tables, employees who barely speak German and small portions of dubious quality. One of the most useless wastes of money in my life. I recommend 👍 but not this place, but any other.

Went there with my colleague. The Sahara Plate Special was outstanding! The sauces were amazing! I'm still blown away, even though I ate the whole thing about three hours ago. Five stars—anything less would be ridiculous. I'll be back!

The simple falafel roll with all the sauces was a poem. Here's my little declaration of love: All the vegetables were tender and al dente, the falafel was nice and moist and flavorful, the sauces were tangy, everything was delicious. I was greeted and farewelled by the chef with great friendliness. I won't pass by without stopping again on my journey. Thanks again.

The kitchen apparently closes shortly after 11 p.m. Please adjust the opening times, the employee still served us but was understandably incredibly stressed.

Good snack, food delicious. Unfortunately, the prices are getting more and more outrageous. Be careful of the vegan kebab meat. It tastes like a mixture of cardboard and dishwashing sponge.

Rarely eaten so well. I had the Fohl Falafel plate (9 euros) with peanut sauce, mango sauce, sesame sauce and hot sauce. Best falafel in years! The foal was also absolutely delicious. And what I always find to be a particularly nice service: free self-service tea. I'll be back soon!

The Food is really good, unfortunately Service is quite Bad and some pf the workers a really unfriendly I suggest going to a different sahara! But still good food.

I don't like it here. Everything just feels off. Everything feels dirty even though it may not be. Nothing seems fresh. Everything is brown and fried. Even the decor seems like it's deep fried.

I will only go to other saharas where I saw portions are much better! The portion here has been reduced more and more!!! What a dissappointment.

Very tasty food. :) I had a falafel, halloumi and makali sandwich with all the sauces for €6. There was even a sweet dough ball for free upon request.

The food was super tasty. An enrichment for Berlin. I can highly recommend it. Small update with photos. It's a bit of a shame that it's a plate instead of a bowl. Maybe the bowls were simply missing and I kindly pointed this out to the waitress. In terms of content, it corresponded to a bowl, which I would like to emphasize here. In terms of taste, it was once again a Sudanese holiday trip at its finest. Oh, by the way, if you see these fried dough balls, you can snack on them. (It's free in every store for all visitors.) Very tasty Sudanese food. We tried it for the first time and thought it was great. Fohl (mashed beans), falafel and the meat were absolutely delicious. The plentiful sauces (peanut, eggplant, hummus, sour cream with garlic...) were also great. The plate doesn't look particularly big but it's extremely filling. Would definitely come again!

Mega tasty and great value for money

Super cheap and delicious food! For around €5 you get a portion that fills me up (otherwise you just have to take two). I hardly know where else you can get such cheap and delicious food. The bread is a bit thin and tears easily, but I think that's okay in proportion. The staff is always nice and there is free black tea :)

It's actually a nice shop, but when I came by again today and wanted to pay by card as usual, I was very rudely told that you could only pay in cash. And instead of politely recommending the ATM around the corner (who didn't have any cash with me) and processing my order, I was sent away. After withdrawing the money I had to go back to the back of the line. A sign indicating cash payment is missing both outside and inside. Ordering again only took me 15 minutes. But if you consider that you can expect really long queues here, that could easily have meant 30 minutes at another time. Planning an extra half an hour in case the usual card payment doesn't work in 2024 seems quite excessive to me. The way the employee who served me handled the situation was also extremely unprofessional. I simply expect more thinking for the customer and, above all, more friendliness! Really a shame Sahara! Only his colleague, who processed my order on the second attempt, was as friendly as I'm used to there.

What a bad customer service I got! I paid my Chicken Magali, waited in line for a long time as they were not calling me. Finally, got my chicken magali and when I was going away they yell from across the street so that I come back because they thought I had not paid🤡. Despite showing the receipt they made me enter the restaurant again until I finally got away with my chicken magali lmao. This was of course a lot of shame in front of many other customers..... No order on the purchases = disaster of customer service.

Unfortunately, people always like to save on salad and vegetables when ordering ( Lieferando ). The specially ordered mango sauce was also far too little (only a few drops). Price disproportionately high!

The tastiest falafel I have ever eaten. The Sahara plate was simply delicious with different sauces, well seasoned and I also enjoyed sitting in front of the door in nice Schöneberg. We recommend.

We had a delicious lunch at the Sahara Imbiss today. Despite the fact that the shop was busy, our order was taken quickly and the food didn't take long to arrive. Since we were lucky with the weather, we were able to sit outside in front of the restaurant. Even though it's right on the corner of a busy street, it wasn't too noisy and we were able to enjoy our meal in peace. The Sahara Plate and the Sahara Plate Max were both well filled, very spicy and simply delicious - especially the fried vegetables and the peanut sauce were fantastic! When we asked, we even got extra hummus and bread for free, which was really nice. The only drawback was the unclean toilets, but I've seen much worse, especially in Berlin. It was a great experience to go out for a Sudanese meal and I would definitely recommend the Sahara Imbiss for its good and very affordable offerings.

I have never been so disappointed with the Sahara 10€ Sahara Bowl ordered and the box was so empty I have never seen it before. Even the rice was pleasing.

I kept going there because it is one of my favorite places yet one of the guys serving the food is everytime so rude to me and the others. Everytime ruining the whole mood. Last time he scolded at me saying next time I better pay cash just because i wanted to pay by card and now he is yelling because the sauce i asked for is already in? I am giving one star because grabbing food shouldn't be about getting insulted and being forced to pay cash everytime. He is attacking on people and it is really getting uncomfortable going there.

Nice food at a good price. Customer service from some of the team is really terrible. Do not go here if you want to be treated with respect. They are rude and choose when they want to accept card.

Very tasty food. Unfortunately, people often 'miscalculate' there. The employee said he wasn't that good at math. 7+7+2, for him, came to 18 euros. He's now miscalculated for me for the third time.

Einer meiner Lieblingsimbisse….Leicht skurriles und eigenwilliges Ambiente…gewöhnungsbedürftig…aber absolut entspannte Atmosphäre mit bunt gemischten Publikum und sehr leckerem Essen, besonders die Soßen schmecken alle sehr gut und sind gut gewürzt… vor Corona waren wir mehrmals im Monat dort essen, teilweise mehrmals die Woche, eigentlich lieber Tellergerichte- jetzt werden übrigens auch Rollos und Bowl angeboten-war jedesmal sehr lecker und nichts zu beanstanden, auch dass man sich kostenlos Tee in Selbstbedienung nehmen kann ist sehr entspannt ….zur Mittagszeit wird immer ein großes Tablett mit frittierten Teigbällchen auf den Tresen gestellt, die man sich ebenfalls kostenlos nehmen darf …. Heute nach langer Zeit mal wieder da gewesen und mittags ein Sandwich gegessen… geschmacklich sehr gut aber schon sehr wenig befüllt , da hätte ich eine Sättigungsbelage zum. Sandwich gebraucht😆 hoffentlich sind die Tellerportionen nicht auch minimiert worden ...Niemand freut sich über Preiserhöhungen … aber was wirklich schlimmer ist?… wenn man beim Anblick seines Essers enttäusch ist Update.... schön dass mein Hündchen mit rein darf und danke für das Wasser für mein Hündchen😊 da kommen wir gerne bald wieder vorbei

Not advised. Ordered from this establishment through the TooGood to go app. This is where at the end you can get cheaper products. And from the promised offer, which should have cost 12 euros, but cost 4.5 euros. I got the cheapest falafel plate. Guys, that's not nice. I won't order more.

Leider, heute eine sehr große Enttäuschung gewesen. Wir waren Stammkunden. Mit unserem Team, sind wir während unserer Pausen, sehr häufig zu diesem Sahara Imbiss gefahren. Nun wurde unser komplettes Essen vertauscht und falsch zubereitet, von den gewählten Soßen. Als wir dann nett gefragt haben, ob wir unser richtiges und bezahltes Essen erhalten können, wurde nur uns die Schuld gegeben, obwohl er es uns mit zugeteilt hat. Er hatte halt einfach unrecht und hat danach einem Worte im Mund verdreht und abgewimmelt. Wenn ich außerhalb essen gehe und Geld zahle, erwarte ich einen gewissen Service und eine anständige Art und Weise mit den Kunden umzugehen. Dies trifft hier nicht zu. Leider letzter Besuch dieser Filiale, in den anderen hat man eine bessere Atmosphäre, gerade vom Personal her. Übrigens gibt es auch keine Seife auf den Toiletten und zwar nie. Dazu haben wir mitbekommen, wie mit der Zange, womit rohes Hühnchen gegriffen wird, auch die Brote geöffnet werden. Sehr gut für die Hygiene :))

Unglaublich Lecker. Die Erdnusssauce, ein Traum! Ob im Sandwich oder Teller - Falafel, Halumi, Magali oder in anderen Kombis.

Lange Wartezeit, weil der Laden sehr gefragt ist. Bestellt habe ich ein Falafel-Hummus Paradies, laut Tafel Falafel und Hummus mit Brot (Teller). Bekommen habe ich 3 winzige Falafel, einen Klecks Hummus, halber Teller voll mit grünem Salat ohne Soße und einer großen Portion. Magali (frittierte Kartoffeln und Karotten). Geschmacklich war das Essen gut, aber wenn ich Falafel und Hummus bestelle möchte ich nicht 3/4 anderes auf dem Teller haben. Preis von 7€ wäre grundsätzlich ok.

Ich bin ein großer Fan von Sahara, schon damals als es nur die Filiale Herrfurthstr. gab bzw. ich nur die Filiale kannte :) Die Filiale Ebersstr. ist etwas größer und bietet daher ordentlich Sitzgelegenheiten, was positiv ist. Auch einige Tische im Aussenbereich laden bei schönem Wetter ein. Bestellt haben wir: einen Hummusteller, ein Chicken-Halloumi Sandwich und ein Falafel-Magali Sandwich. War alles tipptopp und preislich noch sehr human für die heutigen Verhältnisse! Manko: Die Sanitäranlagen solltet ihr ab und an checken. Oft fehlt irgendwas. Entweder Klopapier oder Papierhandtücher. Und irgendwie wackeln alle eure Tische.

Food is really good at a top price!

Für mich wirklich der beste Laden im Bezirk! Schade, dass ich es als Tag 1 Berliner nicht früher entdeckt habe, aber dringend Empfehlung dahin. Appell (an die Neue Kundschaft): Tut den Arbeitern, der Gegend und andere Kunden doch den Gefallen und bestellt nicht kurz vor Schluss und besetzt die Tische für 3 Stunden obwohl ihr schon aufgegessen habt. Ansonsten nur positives, sollte jeder mal ausprobiert haben.

Super leckeres Essen! Hier wird auch jeder Vegetarier und Veganer fündig! :) Ich nehme immer das Haloumi Magali Sandwich mit Erdnuss-Soße - nur zu empfehlen 🩷 Einmal haben wir sogar ein selbstgemachtes Quarkbällchen aufs Haus bekommen, vielen Dank!

Sehr leckeres Essen, schnell und frisch zubereitet.

Klassischer Sahara, jedoch wird hier nicht so viel Füllung in die Sandwiches gegeben, vor allem beim Salat sind sie sehr sparsam. Habe bei der letzten Bestellung keine Auberginensoße dazubekommen, obwohl ich bescheidgesagt habe. Ein mal auch online einen Sahara Teller bestellt, der sehr lieblos war und beinahe kein Gemüße hatte. Ich bevorzuge den Wedding-Sahara, dort ist die Atmosphäre auch bisschen besser.

Ich habe dieses Restaurant über UberEats kennen und schätzen gelernt, nicht nur ist es immer sehr lecker, frisch und warm, nein, es ist auch immer schnell und mit einem Lächeln auf den Lippen geliefert. Auch wird auf Kleinigkeiten geachtet, zum Beispiel, dass die Verpackung gut ist und servierten dabei liegen. Geschmacklich ist die Falafel, die ich mir hier immer bestelle. Wirklich einzigartig, Erdnuss Soße wird beispielsweise angeboten, ich kann hier auf jeden Fall empfehlen das mal selber zu testen.

Das Essen war sehr lecker, die Atmosphäre locker/casual die Musik etwas zu laut... Positiv: Draußen vor dem Lokal gibt es nochmal Sitzplätze, wo man von der lauten Musik bisschen geschützt ist. Ansonsten cooler Laden!!

Preis/Leistung ist top! Hat aber leider keine Preise aushängen... Die Ambiente ist sagen wir mal, naja macht ein gewöhnungsbedürftigen Eindruck! Bedienung freundlich und flott Essen ist lecker! Preis-Leistungsmäßig der Hammer. Es gibt eine große Auswahl an Gerichten (auch vegetarischer und veganer Natur) und Kartenzahlung ist ebenso möglich. Es handelt sich um eine Mischung aus Imbiss und Restaurant. "Leider" zieht dies auch viele Kunden an, weswegen man für ein Mittagessen eine knappe Stunde sicherheitshalber einplanen muss.

Nur empfehlenswert, für jeden der mit Herz und Seele fürein gutes und Nahrhaftes Gericht bereit ist ein angemessenen Preis zu bezahlen.
