Safran in Düsseldorf

First time experiencing Persian cuisine and must say it was a culinary encounter. The lamb fillet and minced meat were very well cooked and tasty. The saffron chicken was tender and was served with a colorful rice that complemented both dishes. I recommend everyone to try this restaurant which has both nice staff and fast service. Tasty meal.

Disappointing experience - never again! Unfortunately we were treated very badly in this restaurant. The service left a lot to be desired - the waitress seemed completely unmotivated, as if she had absolutely no desire to work. There was no friendliness and one had the feeling that guests were more of a nuisance than welcome. The food was also a disappointment. It tasted like it wasn't fresh - almost like it had reheated leftovers from the day before. Overall, the price-performance ratio was absolutely not justified. We definitely won't be coming back and unfortunately we can't recommend this restaurant.

Very good food. Absolutely delicious. The kitchen closes too early. The senior waitress does not come across as very friendly. I understand that she might be very busy, but there is room for improvement there. The customer is not supposed to feel like he or she is a bother. My Dutch friends also experienced that, unfortunately, and I had to justify it by telling them that it's just a culture thing. If that changes, this will be the best persian restaurant I've ever been to.

We have been to this restaurant several times and the food has always been okay. But our visit today – of all times on the Iranian New Year – was a big disappointment. Despite a reservation, the restaurant was completely overcrowded and we had to wait outside until a table became available. At our request we were given tea, but it was only after about 30 minutes of waiting that we were actually assigned a table. The organization seemed chaotic as too many reservations seemed to be accepted per hour. It was extremely loud inside, the air conditioning was poor and the air was stuffy. The restaurant was simply overcrowded. After just an hour we were politely but firmly asked to leave in ten minutes because the table had already been reserved for the next guests. The food was good, but the entire process was very unpleasant. Particularly disappointing: the tea that was offered to us as an apology later appeared on the bill. We have never had an experience like this in any other restaurant. Unfortunately we probably won't be coming back.

Excellent Persian restaurant! We arrived as a large group, so the dishes were delayed a little, but the food was worth the wait. Good music, service Good and always with a smile, varied and delicious food. Their kebabs are soft like butter - highly recommended. Of course finish with Persian chai as it should be with "rand" - the sugar you put in your mouth (those who know), enjoy!

We wrote a wonderful new chapter in our book of life 📖 I had a special request because I wanted to propose to my future wife. The wonderful lady at the restaurant not only captured this unique moment of the proposal on a great video, but also made sure that the right song was played for me at the right moment. 😍😍 It was the most beautiful thing I've ever experienced in my life. I recently had a disappointing experience at your restaurant. When it got busy, the staff made us feel uncomfortable by giving constant looks, as if pressuring us to eat quickly and leave. On top of that, they lied about a reserved seat, which made the situation even worse. This kind of service affects the overall dining experience, and I hope it can be addressed for future customers.

One of the best Iranian restaurants I've been to in Germany. The quality of the food was excellent, the atmosphere was wonderful and the restaurant staff was the best. They even surprised me and brought me a surprise cake because I was there on my birthday. I would definitely recommend this place.

On Friday at 3:00 p.m. I bought a portion of kebab köfte (minced meat skewers) from the Safran restaurant and took it home with me. Unfortunately, when we started eating, the meat wasn't fresh and wasn't of the usual quality. Unfortunately, it poisoned me and made me sick all night. At 4:00 a.m. I was throwing up. I was still feeling sick on Saturday and haven't recovered yet. 😔😔😔

The worst service ever all the staff is rude and aggressive also racist all of them especially niki the blonde waitress i think they dont understand their jobs they were aggressive to my family especially my mom I would never come back again and will never recommend it to my enemies 😂 all the staff changed their behavior And turned to the worst after the manger left the restaurant

Once and never again... Were here for the first and last time. The food looks better than it tastes. Lamb meat (minced) doesn't taste good at all. There was a hair in the yogurt. The service is also bad: there are far too few menus, so you have to wait 5-10 minutes at the table until you get one. All I can say about the ambience is that it was okay, but it was far too crowded and therefore loud in the restaurant. Food is also very very expensive.

Nice and very clean place to seat.. Staff can be more friendly to guests.. Kubide was not as high quality as expected. Gheymeh had a nice taste but it can be prepared with less oil!

What's the best way to spoil a New Year's Eve? You have to reserve a table at Restaurant Safran and off you go. Constant lectures, almost bordering on insults. Asking to leave the table because there are other customers at the door, even though there is a reservation! Etc. And so on. There were at least four five different customers waiting outside for their table and were asked to wait outside at +1 degrees! The customers had become correspondingly loud, what is the owner of the restaurant doing? He constantly turned the music up and up, our eardrums threatened to rupture. At the end the good waitress asked us that only one of us should pay the bill for 10 people! Wonderful! This is a way of working like the chakals. Earn money quickly and whatever the cost! Not recommended - disappointing across the board Unfortunately our visit to this restaurant was a complete disappointment. When we arrived, our reservation was not accepted, even though we had a 90 km journey. Only after a heated discussion were we reluctantly offered a table - and it was right in front of the toilet, which was absolutely unacceptable. The quality of the food was very poor and the taste was a disaster. In addition, the service was completely incompetent and didn't speak a word of German. We had to communicate in English, which is not acceptable in a restaurant in Germany. What was particularly noticeable, however, was that the operators' compatriots (Persians) were warmly welcomed and treated courteously, while we - presumably because of our different nationality - were ignored and treated with noticeable indifference. To make matters worse, we had to wait over 20 minutes for every little thing - be it the order or the bill - before we were even noticed. The service was slow, disinterested and overall extremely unprofessional. I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone. It was a waste of time and money.

There is a waitress( Iranian woman) who is very impolite and rude. She is very aggressive and behave awful with the customer. The food is not good but because of that woman and her behaviour I would never go back there. I hope that the owner see this view and warn her to behave politely to the customer!!!!! Because I am seeing also in the other comments that all the customers are complaining about her.

Today (December 27th, 2024) I was at the Safran Restaurant in Düsseldorf. The behavior of the staff in the restaurant was unfriendly. I ordered Kebab Kubideh, the food looked good but the quality was very poor. The kebab was too greasy and didn't taste like a normal kebab at all. The rice didn't taste good either. It only had saffron color on it and no real saffron. This restaurant is not recommended.

Unfortunately, as a non-Persian you are neglected and the service is worse than for Persian guests. The food comes very slowly and you have to wait a long time for the drinks. If you couldn't give a star for the service, I would. After we got the food after an hour, it was unfortunately very dry and unseasoned. Unfortunately wasted money.

A miserable restaurant with a very rude female waitress (owner?). She wanted to see if we actually have cach money before receiving the order as they don’t accept any cards! They don’t serve you water, but only expensive bottle water i Is available! Also at the end, she was literally kicking us out to clean the tables sonner, but it was only 9:40pm! An awful experience, never recommended, do NOT go there!

Just had dinner here, food was not tasty. It had no taste and the kebab fell apart. It tasted like it was pre-made food and frozen. All my (7) table companions with other dishes did not like it either. They couldn't do anything about the price even though we had 3 snacks. We had to pay the full price.

This restaurant is absolutely not recommended. The food was a disappointment: the rice was dry, the kebab burnt, and we didn't receive what we ordered. Even friendly inquiries were not answered. The waiters kept us waiting for 30 minutes without even looking at us. Unfortunately, we were deceived by the good overall rating without reading the actual reviews. Now we just ask ourselves: How can a restaurant like this even survive? Disrespectful staff, poor quality food – even one star would be too much.

The service was terrible. The area under our table was filthy, and the waitstaff were unresponsive, rarely checking on us. To make matters worse, they didn’t bring everything we ordered, so we had to remind them multiple times. The rice was extremely dry, and the kebab was partially burned, adding to the overall disappointment.

The staff is not good at all, and the food is something I do not recommend. When we first entered the restaurant, they gave us a table at the entrance to the bathroom. We asked them why they said that all the tables were reserved, and of course it is empty talk, but from those who saw us in the Gulf, in general, I would not recommend it at all.

Last night I brought a kabab platter. The kabab was totally burned and had a bitter taste. I had to throw away most of the food. Give 2 stars because of the rice only.

I was there with my colleague, everything was perfect - from the reservation to the food to the staff and the atmosphere. There are all payment options: cash or card, whatever you like. We even got a free appetizer. And the food was simply the best! :):)

Rudest staff. Wow very disappointed.

Even though I rarely write reviews, the horrible experience at this restaurant has made me make an exception. The waiter who served us was not only rude and obnoxious but also tried to charge us more: 85 Euros instead of under 60 Euros while also claiming to not have any change (which she clearly had as I could see in her bag!) to avoid giving back the 15 Euros! I see that others have mentioned they were forced to pay by cash and so were we and perhaps it is the waiter’s dirty trick to take more money. When paying the bill, once she mentioned the amount, I realized it is too much but anyhow let it play out, paid one hundred in cash, received back my 15 euros after insisting for it, and then of course asked for the bill, which I think she had not anticipated. At this point she claimed their system was down and I could not have a bill! So, I got up and approached the main bar area with the cashier machine which made her clearly panic and exchange worried looks with another server (which means they are more than one that are in on this dirty trick). She came and said again it will take a while for the bill and the machine is not working and I said I have no problem waiting. And while waiting for the made-up issue to be resolved, she suddenly had an epiphany that oh, sorry, I think I charged you wrong and mixed you up with another table (it was clear she is lying). An older lady who appeared in charge was there and could overhear all our conversation. I told the waiter what she does is very dishonest and not at all ok. In fact, as we were with a toddler, she was hoping we would be so distracted to not realize what she was trying to do. She just seemed bothered by the whole ordeal rather than apologetic! All this exchange is in Persian so we cannot say anything was lost in translation or there was a miscommunication. She is clearly a dishonest person (dare I say thief?) who is still kept as a server in this restaurant. I would have refrained from giving a bad review just based on one person but the lady who heard my whole conversation with the waiter never intervened or even tried to excuse themselves for their “mistake”. To go through all this drama for an average quality food is not at all worth it, so in short, STAY AWAY.

Service und Bedienung waren Ok. Abgesehen, dass der Kellner (junger Mann) immer wieder seine Maske angefaßt hat und ohne es zu desinfizieren weiter serviert hat. Die Sterneabzüge sind hauptsäch wegen das Essen , dass nicht geschmeckt hat und teilweise lauwarm ankam. Wir haben "Kubideh" bestellt. Vor 1 1/2 Jahren haben die Spieße viel besser geschmeckt. Diesmal hat es nach Würstchen geschmeckt. Vermutlich war der Fettanteil wenig und der Fleischanteil mehr als es sein sollte. Aber pro Portion "Kubideh" für 14,00€ ist viel zu viel. Der Reis war körnig und nicht genug gekocht. Und das absolute NOGO wie die anderen auch bewertet haben, ist die Plastikmargarine. Hallo, Ihr spart an falsche Ende. Wir werden auch wie die anderen Bewerter hier erst mal ein großer Bogen machen. Ich ergänze meine schlechte Bewertung und ziehe ein weiteres Stern ab, da der Betreiber sich bei Google über meine Bewertung beschwert hat. Zuerst hatte ich 2 Sterne gegeben. Wenn man man so feige ist, und kein Kritik aushalten kann, soll man einfach diesen Job nicht machen. Typisch orientalische Mentalität. Ich kann nichts dafür, wenn das Essen so sch... geschmeckt hat. Wir haben sogar ein Spieß nach Hause mitgenommen um es später zu essen. Aber es hat sehr gestunken. Selbst die Hunde und Katzen von Nachbarn haben das Fleisch nicht gefressen. Das ist übrigens auch die Meinung von meiner Frau. Bald bekommt der Inhaber ein weitere schlechte Bewertung. Hier wird keine Kartenzahlung akzeptiert. Bei Barzahlung bekommt man auch keinen Beleg, sondern etwas auf loses Papier per handgeschrieben. Hier wird eindeutig Schwarzgeld gewaschen. Ich werde dies das Zollamt düsseldorf schriftlich mitteilen. Unverschämtheit

Een modern en mooi ingericht Persisch restaurant. Veel bezoekers spreken naar ik vermoed perisch. De service is super snel wat eten betreft. Voor mij iets te snel als ik het hoofdgerecht krijg als ik nog met het voorgerecht bezig ben en je binnen 30 min klaar bent zeg maar. Om nog iets te drinken te bestellen moesten we wel wat meer ons best doen. Eten is heerlijk van smaak en zeker het voorgerecht erg mooi opgemaakt. Een aanrader.

Very greasy and overly oily food as well as really ugly and insulting attitude from the waiters It was honestly the worst Iranian restaurant I've ever been to in Germany

Service and ambience were good. Unfortunately, the food wasn't as good as I'm used to in other restaurants. The chicken fillet was not of good quality in some places, it was sometimes very tough or raw on the inside. I also find it inappropriate to offer drinks in 0.2l bottles. The price was also excessive in my opinion, I paid €65 for 2 people, 2 drinks and 2 plates (each with 1 chicken fillet and 1 minced lamb skewer).

I have been going to the restaurant for many years, I really like Persian food and have never been disappointed. That was the reason why I decided to celebrate my birthday where I invited friends from all over the world. Unfortunately I have to say that we were absolutely disappointed with the service (last Saturday). It took 25 minutes for someone to come to take our order and our glasses were constantly empty. Drinks always came in the wrong order with a very, very long wait. I understand everything, I worked in the catering industry myself for many years. But there were 3-4 other tables in the restaurant besides us. The service was really not nice and at the end they made unnecessary comments about our wishes. When I come to eat with 10 people I find it absolutely unacceptable to make comments when we asked for a plastic bag for our food etc. The food was delicious as always but the service 1/10 and I felt really embarrassed in front of my friends, it was their first time trying Persian food. Hard to say if I'll be back. We really enjoyed the food, but I was never treated the same way by the service as I was on Saturday.

My experience wasn’t that good. Their space is not large enough for that many people in Dusseldorf! I had their special Safran kabab. Nothing special! Food quality and taste was quite average, apparently made with rush and no good attention, though it was an expensive place! Not good behaving staff. Probably won’t go again.

The behavior of the employees is extremely rude and disrespectful. They create tension and destroy the atmosphere, ruining the entire experience. Such behavior is absolutely unacceptable.

Beer was warm. Food was bland, just grilled meat with no seasoning or flavour with boiled rice and half a tomato. Service was extremely slow. Expensive, would not recommend.

The taste of the food was really unique, but unfortunately, one of the waitresses, who smelled strongly of cigarettes, treated the customers with rudeness and did not care about the customer's comfort at all. Unfortunately the lady doesn't speak German on the phone. The order was very difficult and ended up not being carried out at all. Someone else who spoke the language had to be found there to do it. But I can no longer use it myself because no German is spoken on the phone. It's a shame because that's how you lose customers.

My expectations were not met at all. "Mahiche" was not cooked properly. The chicken tasted strange, and Kababs were average. So I believe dishes are quite expensive there. Btw, they only accept cash.
