Die Qualität des Essens war leider sehr schlecht. Ich war enttäuscht und würde dort nicht noch einmal bestellen. Eine Empfehlung kann ich daher nicht aussprechen.

Gute Wahl. Reisgerichte besonders lecker.

Wir waren mit 11 Personen zu Gast und haben gemeinsam zu Abend gegessen. Das Essen war gut, ebenso die Desserts und der Tee. Leider wurde eines der Gerichte falsch zubereitet, sodass eine Person deutlich länger auf ihr Essen warten musste als der Rest der Gruppe. Besonders enttäuschend war jedoch die Situation beim Bezahlen. Die Rechnung betrug 532 €, und wir boten an, den Betrag auf 540 € aufzurunden. Die Mitarbeiterin, die uns während des Abends auch bedient hatte, reagierte darauf mit den Worten: "Wollen Sie nur 8 € extra geben? Das ist nicht nötig, bezahlen Sie einfach 532 €.“ Trinkgeld ist freiwillig und sollte eine Geste der Wertschätzung sein. Gerade deshalb empfanden wir diese Bemerkung als unangenehm und unpassend. Schade, denn das Essen war gut. Leider hat die Art und Weise, wie der Abend beendet wurde, einen ansonsten schönen Abend überschattet.

Ein wunderbares iranisches Restaurant mit authentischer Küche und herzlicher Gastfreundschaft. Wir sind ganz spontan und ohne Reservierung vorbeigekommen und haben trotzdem sofort einen Tisch bekommen. (dafür vielen Dank!) Die Speisen waren frisch, geschmackvoll und liebevoll zubereitet. Das Ambiente ist sehr angenehm und der Service ausgesprochen freundlich und aufmerksam. Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt und kommen gerne wieder. Klare Empfehlung für alle, die die persische Küche lieben!

Sehr schöne Erfahrung bei Safraan! Das Essen war wirklich lecker und gut gewürzt. Der Service war sehr freundlich, besonders Negin war sehr lieb, nett und gastfreundlich. Man fühlt sich hier sofort willkommen. Auf jeden Fall ein Ort, an den ich gerne wiederkommen werde!

Eine wirklich schlechte und respektlose Erfahrung. Wir waren gestern in diesem Restaurant und ich war sehr enttäuscht. Die Qualität des Essens war miserabel; der Kebab war völlig trocken und verbrannt, und das Berberitzenhähnchen roch nach Erbrochenem, sodass wir es überhaupt nicht essen konnten. Noch seltsamer war, dass der Teller mit dem Essen unberührt auf dem Tisch stand, aber das Personal fragte nicht einmal, warum wir das Essen nicht gegessen hatten! Noch schlimmer als die schlechte Qualität des Essens war jedoch der sehr unhöfliche und prinzipienlose Umgang des Personals mit einer unserer Begleiterinnen, die krank war. Ich arbeite selbst in der Gastronomie und kann ehrlich sagen, dass es in diesem Restaurant weder Kundenservice noch Respekt oder ein professionelles Management gibt. Ich kann dieses Restaurant absolut nicht empfehlen.

Beim Essen kann man nicht meckern, aber man wird leider vom Personal nicht wahrgenommen. Obwohl wir eher gekommen sind, wurden andere Gäste, die später kamen, zuerst bedient. Dafür ein Stern zu wenig. Nur für die Flagge/Foto? Ich finde, Restaurant und Essen haben mit Kultur zu tun und nicht mit irgendwelchen verbannten Exilprinzen! Zweiter Stern dafür.

Ein Restaurant sollte sich politisch raus halten!

Gut, aber nicht unbedingt herausragend. Es fehlt: Tahdig (Basmatireis mit knusprigen Kruste)

Das Essen sieht super aus, aber schmeckt überhaupt nicht, und die personal war sehr unfreundlich, Em ende hat es eine Gefühl gegeben, dass wir dort nicht wirklich waren.

Ich gehe in ein Restaurant für eine gute Atmosphäre und für gutes Essen. Aber wenn ich sehe, das auf social media politisch Stellung genommen wird und Terror gut geheißen wird. Dann kann man nur weniger als ein Stern geben. Ich schäme mich, dass solche Menschen ihre Reichweite nutzen um Hass und Gewalt zu verbreiten und das noch als angeblich iranisches Restaurant.

Zum 2. Mal da gewesen. Und beide male ein Respektloses Verhalten vom Personal.

Ein derart unprofessioneller und unhöflicher Umgang mit Kunden ist absolut inakzeptabel. Weder das Essen noch der Service beziehungsweise die Bedienung sind zu empfehlen. Ein so arrogantes Verhalten habe ich in einem Restaurant bisher noch nicht erlebt. Ich kann jedem nur davon abraten, dieses Restaurant zu besuchen.

Ich bestellte ein Hauptgericht und einen Salat. Das Lamm war perfekt zubereitet und köstlich. Die Portion war riesig, man hätte sie fast zu zweit hören können! Der Reis war sogar noch besser als das Lamm. Er hat mir wirklich sehr gut geschmeckt. Das Ambiente und die Aufmerksamkeit des Personals waren angemessen und zufriedenstellend. Insgesamt ist es ein Restaurant, in dem ich gerne wieder essen gehen würde.

Ich bin extrem enttäuscht. Für das Geld und die Zeit, die ich investiert habe, war es absolut nicht wert. Das Personal ist unfreundlich und zeigt keinerlei Kundenorientierung – im Gegenteil, man wird sogar noch herablassend behandelt. Das Essen ist überteuert und die Qualität lässt sehr zu wünschen übrig. Absolut nicht empfehlenswert!

Manchmal trifft man genau das Restaurant, das man eigentlich schon lange gesucht hat. Das Safran ist so eines. Ich habe Ghormeh Sabzi mit Reis und eine Cola bestellt nach kaum 10 Minuten war alles am Tisch. Das Essen kam frisch und heiß, und beim ersten Bissen war klar: Hier wird gekocht, nicht nur erwärmt. Das Ghormeh Sabzi gehört zu den besten, die ich je hatte. Tiefe im Geschmack, frische Kräuter, zartes Fleisch, perfekt abgeschmeckt. Der Reis locker und körnig, genau wie er sein soll. Die Kellnerin war ausgesprochen freundlich und aufmerksam herzlich, ohne aufdringlich zu wirken. Das Lokal ist sauber, gepflegt und aufgeräumt, man fühlt sich sofort wohl. Auch um Parkplätze muss man sich keine Gedanken machen, in der Nähe gibt es genügend Möglichkeiten. Die 5 Sterne sind hier absolut verdient Küche, Service und Atmosphäre stimmen einfach. Ich werde definitiv wiederkommen und kann das Safran jedem empfehlen, der echte, ehrliche persische Küche sucht. Vielen Dank an das gesamte Team weiter so!

Safran bietet ein authentisches iranisches Esserlebnis mit herzhaften und hervorragend zubereiteten Gerichten. Die Speisen spiegeln die Herzlichkeit der persischen Küche wider, und die Qualität des Safrans ist, wie der Name schon sagt, deutlich besser als in vielen anderen Restaurants. Ein Ort, den ich sehr gerne wieder besuchen würde!

Der Preis war relativ hoch, die Portionen aber klein. Die Reisqualität war sehr schlecht. Das Restaurant heißt zwar „Saffron“, verwendet aber leider keinen echten Safran. Der Service hätte besser sein können.

In einem iranischen Restaurant sollten Zwiebeln zum Kebab gehören. Leider muss man dafür 2 Euro extra bezahlen. Das ist wirklich lächerlich und traurig.

Ich hatte ein tolles Erlebnis in diesem iranischen Restaurant. Das Essen war köstlich, die Atmosphäre warm und einladend, und die Bedienung freundlich und professionell. Alles war hervorragend, und ich habe meinen Besuch sehr genossen. Einziger Wermutstropfen: Man konnte nur bar bezahlen, was etwas unpraktisch war. Davon abgesehen war alles perfekt, und ich kann das Restaurant uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

Wir hatten einen fantastischen Abend im Safran! Wir hatten keine Reservierung, aber das Personal hat trotzdem einen Weg gefunden, uns unterzubringen, sodass wir das köstliche Essen genießen konnten. Wir bestellten die Grillplatte für zwei Personen, und das Fleisch war durchweg köstlich und perfekt zubereitet. Als Vorspeise hatten wir Kashke Bademjan. Das Essen war durchweg lecker, aber meiner Meinung nach etwas zu teuer. Ich würde dem Restaurant 4,5 Sterne geben, wenn ich könnte, aber 5 Sterne sind angesichts der Qualität des Essens im Verhältnis zum Preis einfach etwas zu viel.

ich habe bei Ihnen zwei Suppen und ein Gericht „Kashk-e Bademjan“ bestellt. Leider bin ich mit der Lieferung und Essen sehr unzufrieden. Das Essen kam komplett kalt bei mir an. Beide Suppen waren sehr kalt, die Portionen waren extrem klein und die Suppe war außerdem viel zu sauer. Auch das Kashk-e Bademjan war kalt, hatte kaum bzw. gar keinen Kashk, und die Auberginen waren sehr ölig. Insgesamt war die Menge deutlich zu wenig. Zusätzlich wurde kein Brot mitgeliefert. Wir haben daraufhin bei Ihren Mitarbeitenden angerufen und darum gebeten, uns Brot nachzusenden. Leider wurden wir am Telefon sehr unhöflich und respektlos behandelt. Das Verhalten war absolut inakzeptabel. Insgesamt war das Essen geschmacklich enttäuschend, kalt und von sehr schlechter Qualität. Auch der Umgang mit Kundinnen und Kunden war äußerst respektlos.

Ich habe schon mehrmals in diesem Restaurant gegessen. Beim letzten Mal fand ich ein Frauenhaar im Essen, deshalb gehe ich dort nicht mehr essen. Außerdem arbeitet dort eine Kellnerin – ich kenne ihren Namen nicht –, die sich sehr unfreundlich gegenüber Gästen verhält. Offensichtlich hat sie keinerlei Schulung im Umgang mit Kunden absolviert. Ihr Verhalten ist wirklich unmöglich, und ich werde dieses Restaurant nicht mehr besuchen. Ich habe den Eindruck, dass diese Frau etwas unternimmt, um Gäste zu vergraulen. Ich rate Ihnen daher dringend davon ab, dieses Restaurant zu besuchen und es zu boykottieren.

Eines der besten Restaurants in Dizer Dolf, ich kann es nur empfehlen, internationale Küche.

Sehr leckeres und abwechslungsreiches Essen – alles frisch, schön angerichtet und mit viel Liebe zubereitet. Der Service war freundlich, höflich und aufmerksam. Wir waren rundum zufrieden und kommen sehr gerne noch viele weitere Male mit der Familie wieder!

Vorweg, das Essen war lecker, wenn auch die Portionsgröße des Hauptgangs etwas wenig war. Wenig "Hauptgang", dafür sehr viel Reis als Sättigungsbeilage. Zu dem leider etwas trocken. Die Vorspeise war wiederum sehr gut. Es war sehr laut im Restaurant, normale Unterhaltung fällt daher relativ schwer. Der Service war leider nicht sehr aufmerksam und zudem sehr langsam. Insgesamt hat es heute einfach an zu vielen Stellen gehapert, daher ist unser Eindruck leider gedämpft. Haben uns nach den Bewertungen vielleicht einfach etwas mehr versprochen.

Sehr schlechte Erfahrung. Wir habe per UberEats einmal Kabab Barg bestellet, aber das Essen wurde uns überhaupt nicht geliefert. Danach habe ich das Restaurant Safran kontaktieret und sie sagten nur, dass sie nichts tun können. Kein Entschuldigung, kein Lösung, gar nichts. Kunden kriegen überhaupt kein Respekt bei dennen. Nie wieder bestelle ich dort und ich empfehle dieses Restaurant niemandem.

Last weekend i ate at safran restaurant in dusseldorf and the food was good but the service was bad we reserved a table but we had to wait she said and we just stood in front of the restaurant. After 5 minutes i approached the lady and said and ? She said yeah the table is not ready yet just go and sit. Finally after 10 minutes more she told us our table is ready everything was fine until i had to pay. I didn’t had any cash with me so they said yeah our internet is not working for the machine to pay by card so you have to go outside and look for an ATM across the street i said oke i went out and tried to get money but the ATM was not working i went back and told them the machine isn’t working they said oke go and look outside again there is one 6 minutes from here i said look i am not from here i just want to pay and go. Can someone come with me i am not familiar with this place the lady said that is not my problem but it is your problem sir ! I was like oke 😳 I can pay but youre machine is not working and suddenly it’s my problem so i just went to look for another ATM. I came back and paid and went outside. So i just want to tell my experience as a tourist. Like i said the food was good but the service was bad and no manners of the owner !

Worst kebab I’ve ever had, it was mostly fat and very poor quality. Despite having a reservation, no table was ready for us and we had to stand and wait for a long time before being seated. The staff’s behavior was also very unpleasant and unprofessional. Overall, this was the worst experience I’ve had, both in terms of food and service.

Leider war unser Besuch sehr enttäuschend. Obwohl das Restaurant iranische Küche anbietet, fehlte es den Speisen vollständig an typischem Geschmack. Der verwendete Reis entsprach offensichtlich nicht dem für die iranische Küche charakteristischen Reis. Das Kebab hatte weder Aroma noch die erwartete Würzung. Die Garnitur wirkte lieblos und unzureichend – sie bestand lediglich aus einem halbierten Salatblatt. Die Tomate war nicht gegrillt oder gegart, wie man es erwarten würde. Hinzu kommt, dass wir sehr lange auf unser Essen warten mussten und es schließlich kalt serviert wurde. Insgesamt entsprach das Essen weder qualitativ noch geschmacklich dem Anspruch eines iranischen Restaurants.

Es war eine Lieferbestellung, aber mein Hotel war nur 5 Minuten entfernt. Ich hatte nach Besteck gefragt, aber keins bekommen. Der Reis war altbacken. Das Hähnchen war okay. Im Restaurant schmeckt es vielleicht besser, aber zum Mitnehmen ist es definitiv nicht zu empfehlen.

Schöne und gemütliche Atmosphäre sowie freundliches Personal. Leider war das Essen schlecht. Wir haben Schischlik und Koobideh bestellt. Bei beiden Gerichten war der Fettanteil sehr hoch und der Fleischanteil entsprechend gering. Der Schischlik war außen stark verbrannt und innen nicht ausreichend gegart. Insgesamt hat es sich leider nicht gelohnt, daher kann ich das Restaurant nicht empfehlen.

The people are nice. We went without a reservation. At first, they told us we'd have to wait an hour, but after three minutes, they said there was a table available, and we sat down. The food arrived quickly and was good. I only have one comment: First, it's expensive. In my experience at grill restaurants, for example in Munich, a mixed plate for two people usually consists of six skewers, not just four. Four grilled skewers for 50 euros—I think two more skewers should have been included. The rice was a really generous portion 👍

It was our first time eating Persian food and it was absolutely delicious. From the eggplant dip to the tender, juicy meat, everything was fantastic! We highly recommend it.

To the Esteemed Management of Restaurant Safran – Düsseldorf December 18, 2025 Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing to formally submit my complaint regarding an incident that occurred approximately two days ago at your restaurant. I kindly request that you carefully review this matter and take appropriate action. I visited your restaurant with a guest and ordered a dish (chelokebab) including drinks. During the meal, I requested some onions. Unfortunately, I subsequently discovered that an additional €2.00 was charged for this, without any prior notification. Furthermore, a small glass of tea that I ordered for my guest was charged at €2.90, which, in my opinion, is not within the usual price range or expected standard. ... However, I am particularly displeased by the fact that, when I asked for the bill, an employee—apparently lacking sufficient professional qualifications in the service industry—told me the total amount without first providing me with a proper invoice or receipt, all while holding her personal purse. When I explicitly requested a receipt, instead of receiving a substantive answer, I was repeatedly asked why I needed one. Such behavior is neither professional nor in accordance with the basic standards of the restaurant industry. I would like to point out that I am a retired employee of the German judiciary and have lived in Germany for over 51 years. Based on my extensive experience, I can emphatically state that I have never encountered such conduct in a properly run restaurant. It goes without saying that: the issuance of a proper invoice or receipt is a legal right of every guest, additional charges without prior notification violate the principle of price transparency, and inappropriate and untrained behavior by the service staff damages the reputation of your establishment. I therefore urge the management of the Safran Restaurant to investigate the incident described and take appropriate measures, particularly regarding staff training, compliance with legal billing obligations, and improved customer service, to prevent similar incidents in the future. This letter is to be understood as an initial formal complaint. I sincerely hope that the matter can be resolved in this way and that no further action will be necessary. Sincerely, Kord

Everything was nice! Just a note that bring cash with you, they don’t accept cards!

The service was very poor. Being busy is no excuse for rude behavior. The female staff member rounded up the bill herself and did not return our change until I asked, doing so with attitude. Later, she claimed our forgotten bags were gone, but luckily a colleague returned them. Very disappointing.

Great food and great atmosphere. The food is so good which makes is comparable with the restaurants in Iran. Definitely it was the best Persian restaurant I experienced outside of Iran. The neighbour is also great and close to a lot of shopping centers.

I would give more stars, but first of all: The ambiance is nice. The food tastes good. But… unfortunately, like with many Persian restaurants, you charge €20-30 for dishes and then give a small handful of sabzi with ONE tiny piece of feta cheese for several people. They're saving money in the wrong place. Yogurt costs €5-6 and you get a tiny portion. Khoresht, unfortunately, has far too little meat and a tiny portion, but costs almost €20. We Persians should change that; with Turkish and Arab restaurants, you get sauces for free, and side dishes and portions are larger and cheaper. Lotfan yekam ne in chiza fekr konid.

A real authentic iranian place. I recommend for lunch or dinner.

We had reserved a table but still had to wait. It then took about an hour for our food to be served. The kebabs were generally good and quite acceptable, although the meat quality could have been better. Furthermore, the prices are rather high compared to other restaurants.

Last week, six of us ate there and were generally satisfied. The service could be a bit more attentive, perhaps by asking if we needed anything else. I personally know Persian cuisine very well and find it more refined in terms of flavor, but my colleagues were all happy and, thanks to the generous appetizers, quite full.

Amazing Persian cuisine and efficient service.

I found this restaurant through Google and trusted the star ratings. The atmosphere was good, the staff was friendly, the food was reasonably priced, the presentation was good, and the rice was tasty. However, the kebab koobideh had no meaty flavor at all and was as tough as rubber. It's a real shame for a restaurant like this not to have good kebab. I hope the management takes this seriously.

They had put too much baking soda inside the kebab, the kebab was very puffy and hard, the meat could not be tasted at all, the kebab was really not good. And they still didn't bring the food, they asked if you were paying by card or bar? 👎🏼 Too much baking soda was used in the kebab koobideh. The kebab was very puffy and firm, almost like a hard cake. The meat taste didn't really come through, the koobideh was unfortunately not good.

1. The spinach borani we ordered was of very poor quality; it was dry and tough, making it inedible. We suggest using fresher borani. 2. The food was served cold, and we recommend ensuring it’s hot and of better quality when served. 3. The cleanliness of the restaurant, especially the tables, could be improved. Overall, the rest of the experience was good, and we hope for an even better experience next time.

The Koobideh Kebab is truly delicious and is the main reason I might return; the food quality is generally acceptable. However, the dining experience is consistently frustrating due to issues with payment and honesty. The staff repeatedly claimed the card machine was "broken," a clear sign that they prefer cash. It is disappointing that the restaurant does not simply display a sign stating "Cash Only" instead of misleading customers. The service staff is polite, but a management issue arises when paying: they often claim they lack small change to return to the customer. This lack of professionalism is embarrassing for an establishment and makes guests hesitant to leave a proper tip. Other details were subpar: the tea was flavorless, and the rice was Basmati, not authentic Iranian variety. In short, while the Kebab is a major draw, Saffron needs to improve its transparency with customers and address basic operational issues like having change available.

The service was very arrogant and unfriendly. The soup wasn't presented nicely. We had only ordered an appetizer, and the server clearly didn't like that. I wouldn't go there again.

Food: It was very tasty; we had the appetizer platter for four people. The marinated olives were a highlight. For the main course, we had a large skewer of lamb and chicken fillet with rice, accompanied by saffron beer. The meat was incredibly delicious, the rice was okay—I had to add a little salt. Service: There was only one waitress for all the tables, and she was quite busy. She didn't make the friendliest impression, but I wouldn't call her unfriendly. Card payment was accepted, but the tip percentage starts at 15%, which is a bit steep. I think 10% should be an option.

Excellent Iranian food. It's best to start with the appetizer platter. A great selection of main courses is also available. They even offer Iranian saffron beer. The prices are absolutely reasonable! One minor criticism: there's only one vegetarian dish on the menu.

We liked the ambiance. But we were actually there for the food. There were four of us. And unfortunately, only the vegetarian enjoyed it. The smoked eggplant mousse was good. And the vegetable stir-fry. But we've never eaten such bad minced meat skewers. Such inferior meat, and not at all seasoned. The roast chicken was also bone dry. We wouldn't want to repeat that experience.

This is the best Persian food in Düsseldorf! The dishes are absolutely amazing- full of flavor and perfectly cooked every time.

You can enjoy your food somewhere else than here. My experience was not good. You can probably get better service and tastier food somewhere else.😔

It started like this, we wanted to eat and the waitress said straight away yes, you have an hour to eat after a few minutes the food came we were very surprised the rice had a very unpleasant smell the meat wasn't fully cooked there were lots of flies that enjoyed the food more than we did we wanted to make a completely different order this wasn't available and she said unfriendly she didn't understand you but in an unfriendly way the starters were thank you for the animals we didn't eat much and left everything lying around

Incredibly unfriendly staff! There were ten of us at Safran and we spent a lot of money there – but we were treated as if we weren't welcome. Even when making the reservation, we were constantly annoyed and referred to the online reservation system, even though it didn't work. No understanding, no consideration – simply unprofessional. In the restaurant itself: no patience, no service, no friendliness whatsoever. We had to repeat our drink orders several times because we were simply ignored. The older lady who worked there was particularly negative – no empathy, no emotion, just ice-cold. When I wanted to pay, I was referred to a colleague who stared at me while talking on the phone. Only after asking for the third time and speaking a bit louder did she finally come over to me. This kind of behavior is simply disrespectful and embarrassing for a restaurant. The food was truly delicious, but that doesn't make up for the disastrous service. There were ten of us guests, friendly and willing to pay, but we were treated like we were a nuisance. I felt really uncomfortable. I wanted to introduce my business partner and his family to Persian cuisine, and the lady's behavior gave them a completely false impression of Persian culture and cuisine. Never again at Safran! Absolutely disappointing.
