I can surely say that this is one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been. Especially I want to mention food quality. Simply The best! Strongly recommend. We paid 180€ for 6 full size melas, salads and drinks. So the prices also fair and good.

I am a traveler from Iran so I know kabab well, we ordered a dish which includes loghmeh (koobideh), barg and chicken. let me tell you my idea about them, first bad points: barg was so thin and koobideh had different texture than expected. Good point is that all kababs were cooked well and chicken was as I expected, rice was good too.

We come to Düsseldorf every time from another city to eat at Safran. It's clean, fast, and delicious, and the service is excellent. Our regular waitress, Negin, always takes great care of us and is always super sweet and kind, accommodating to our every need. She's always very sweet and attentive to us when we're there. I want to give 6 stars, but 5 is max possible. The food was really great. It was the best one I tasted in last few years among Persian restaurants. The staff were very kind & friendly. The restaurant is a modern one. They use halal meet. I tasted tea & ice cream too. Everything was perfect.

Delicious Persian food – especially the skewers! I was very satisfied with my visit. The skewers were super tender and really well seasoned – nicely grilled on the outside, juicy on the inside. I also really enjoyed the rice; it was light and aromatic, and with the saffron on top, it was a real highlight. The service was consistently friendly and attentive; I felt truly welcome. The prices were also absolutely fair – really great value for the quality. I would give it 7 out of 9 points – definitely above average – and I will definitely be back. Highly recommended!

After watching at google rating we went there . we had our marriage Anniversary so a kind of little celebration day for us but a waitress came to us and just ordered us you are people of four so you cannot sit on the other extra two chairs and one extra table because this is place for 6 people. although the the resturant was quite empty at that time dated 21.06.2025 Time: 16:30 ... So my children were sitting there and she just separated the table from the rest of big table. Her attitude was like very unfriendly and rude. It felt me a very disrespectful as if I am here to beg for the food not to buy. She made me feel a beggar. I asked my husband we are leaving quickly but he insisted me to stay and soothed me a little. So point it that racist woman just spoiled our beautiful day. then she left the restaurant because her work time was over. I would suggest the administration of the restaurant to take strict notice because if she kept on behaving like that it will really influence the reputation of the restaurant. Customers come to restaurants to enjoy their time spending money not to spoil their day. please pay attenrion to the issue and try train your mitarbeiter how to behve respextfully with the customers. thanks

BUT unfortunately overshadowed with an awful service and bad attitude of staff whom are not friendly nor professional. in last few years every time that I have visited this restaurant there was always some sort of bad attitude.and I tried to avoid this restaurant but as its located close to Düsseldorf central station (Düsseldorf Hbf ) I had to give into insistence of friends or family once in while. Yesterday was one of them 13th of july 2024 1-start from beginning when we order food and immediately the waitress ask how you going to pay for you food all together or separately 🤨😳! 2-she bring the food and her thumb was inside the food plate 🤯come on you just touch money with those hand,I let it slide and start my food from other side. 3-tables are so close to each other she couldn’t serve a food properly and had to lean over me poor placement of tables 4-I ask for another cola in the middle of my meal ,waitress took another table order and take her time, put it in the in the system start going trough her cellphone in front of bar while our table 4-5 step from the bar,another few min passed so I walk to bar and ask for a cola, they refused & ask me to sit we bring it to you,in response it’s fine I can take it to my table no worries,again NO! sit we bring it to you !!! after they talked to each other and pointing at me finally she come with cold slam it on the table roll her eye and left !!! new type of hospitality !!! In conclusion your better off with take out or delivery

Like many other guests, we had a very bad experience with the waitress. She was very rude from the start, for no reason, and didn't care about creating a pleasant atmosphere. The food was also completely inadequate for the price. Definitely not worth a visit.

How incredibly unfriendly can one be? The service was rude and uninterested. We ordered chicken skewers with rice. The description said the chicken was marinated in saffron, so it should have the characteristic yellow color, right? Unfortunately, that wasn't the case here. White, tasteless chicken fillets with rice. I could have made them at home. We'll never come back here.

Hello everyone, I hope the owner of the restaurant sees this and wants to do something about it.... or please pass it on to him. Thank you We have been regular customers of this restaurant for several years and have always returned with interest because of the high quality of the food. But since this new lady was added as the owner or service manager, unfortunately, we leave the restaurant every time with sadness and annoyance. Their behavior is full of impatience, disrespect and inattention to the customer, so much so that one feels like a nuisance! Although we still love the environment and the memories of the past, this lady's bad behavior has made us reluctant and hesitant to come to the restaurant. We, who were your weekly customers until recently, now go with sadness and cannot even confidently recommend this place to our friends, even though we have heard similar stories from many acquaintances. The quality of the food has also become completely terrible and nothing is like before. Why???!!!!! I am truly sorry for this experience, as we did not expect such treatment from a restaurant with this history. I hope the management will think about this issue sooner, because respect for the customer is not something that can be ignored. And I am sorry for this lady who acts so demandingly and as if the customer owes her kindness and favors! This behavior is not only unprofessional, but also degrades the reputation of the restaurant.

I went to this restaurant with my family yesterday. After we ordered our food, my brother had to get an additional burger from McDonald's because the restaurant doesn't serve burgers. The waitress was very rude and impolite, and they prohibited takeout food. It's normal in some restaurants, but it should be clearly posted as house rules or restaurant regulations. Despite clarifying with a waiter beforehand that my brother would get a burger from McDonald's, the waitress was very rude to us. Even though four of us had already ordered food at the restaurant. When we wanted to leave, the food wasn't yet on our table, so the rude employee demanded we pay for it and then leave the restaurant. I did the same. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone because of the rudeness of the waiters.

My experience at Safran was anything but straightforward. While there were some undeniable highlights, particularly the exceptional service, the overall visit left me with mixed feelings. Let’s start with the positive: the service was phenomenal warm, professional, and attentive throughout. That level of hospitality is unfortunately rare in many Persian restaurants across the Netherlands, and it truly stood out here. Kudos to the staff on that front. However, the kitchen side of the experience was less impressive. I ordered the starter platter, which consisted of pre-made items, yet it took surprisingly long to arrive. When it finally did, it lacked that “wow” factor and didn’t feel worth the price. The main courses followed with more delays, and although the kebabs were truly excellent juicy, well-seasoned, and cooked perfectly the rice was a major letdown. It wasn’t traditional Iranian rice, and it came out dry, without the usual knob of butter to balance things out. That simple omission made the dish feel incomplete. Another hiccup came right at the beginning: despite having a reservation, we waited quite a while to be seated. Apparently, there was an issue with their booking system. While understandable, it still added unnecessary frustration. As for the atmosphere, the space felt cramped and disorganized, which took away from the dining experience. A bit more attention to layout and ambiance could make a big difference. In Summary: Safran has real potential, especially with such an outstanding front-of-house team. But the kitchen efficiency, food consistency, and space planning need work to match the level of the service.

Reserved a table by phone two hours in advance, but when arrived, all the tables were full. Fortunately, a lady who seemed a bit tired and not very cheerful showed us to our table. She was the only one serving all the tables and was constantly moving around. Despite that, our order was prepared quickly. I ordered the Bakhtiari mix (Koobideh and Barg), which was delicious. I also had the Shirazi salad, which was quite small. However, I’ve noticed that most Iranian restaurants in Europe serve the same small portion, which I find too little. The restroom was clean, and the interior decoration was relatively nice. Overall, a good experience.

I visited Saffraan in Düsseldorf today with a friend, excited to enjoy some Persian food. Unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing. For starters, we ordered Mirza Ghasemi and Kuku Sabzi. The Mirza Ghasemi was tasty but the portion was extremely small. The Kuku Sabzi, however, seemed like it had just been taken out of the freezer because the spinach still had a frozen crust, which was very unpleasant. The man working there was neutral and professional; I have nothing negative to say about him. However, the woman who seemed to be the owner or manager was quite arrogant and unwelcoming. When I was calmly explaining our reservation, she interrupted me in a condescending tone, telling me to give her more time, which already set a negative tone. While serving the food, she made inappropriate jokes that I didn’t find funny and frankly, not something you expect from someone working in hospitality. As someone who works in the restaurant industry myself, I know that dining out is supposed to be a pleasant experience. When I politely asked for another iced tea, I was told I didn’t need to ask because I’m paying for it anyway. This kind of communication, especially in Persian (a language we both spoke), felt unnecessarily rude and dismissive. At the end, the bill was €80.40. I had €80 in cash and asked if I could pay the remaining €0.40 by card, since I would otherwise need to break a €50 bill. Her response was, do you enjoy bothering me? I was surprised by this, and when I asked, why would I be bothering you, she ignored the question and claimed that such small amounts can’t be paid by card in Germany. I found that hard to believe because I’ve paid small amounts in German supermarkets before. I explained that I’m from the Netherlands, and eventually I changed the larger bill just to end the conversation. Of course, paying is part of the deal, and €0.40 is not the issue. The real problem was her tone and attitude. She doesn't know me, and I don’t know her, but I was treated as if I were a nuisance rather than a customer. As for the main dishes, they were mediocre at best. The Koobideh tasted like it came from a factory, not at all like freshly hand-kneaded kebab on a skewer, which I was hoping for. I drove all the way from the Netherlands to try a taste of my own culture, but sadly, this visit left a bad impression. I won’t be returning and I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to others.

I had a disappointing and uncomfortable experience here. I came alone around 6 PM, during a relatively quiet time. Several large tables (4- and 6-person) were clearly free and not reserved, yet I was told to wait for the only 2-person table to become available. This kind of rigid and unwelcoming attitude sends the wrong message to solo guests. Prioritizing empty tables over actual customers shows a poor sense of hospitality. I won’t be returning and would not recommend this place to others, especially solo diners.

We visited the restaurant for the first time yesterday and were delighted to introduce our German friends to Persian cuisine. The food was excellent. The appetizer and the grilled platter, along with a braised dish, were delicious. However, the waitress's behavior overshadowed the entire atmosphere and, above all, our stay. Drinks weren't brought for a good half hour. She was extremely annoyed and generally didn't respond to requests like, "Can we order another bottle of water?" Above all, she was very rude to our guests...in a restaurant where there are German guests at the table, German should normally be spoken. We tried this several times, but we received answers in Persian. I also don't understand the overwhelmed manner of the waitress, who served a total of four occupied tables. The condescending jokes she made at the table were also very unfriendly and rude. I would have liked to have had a few meaningful comments on the spot about the unfriendly waitress and made her aware of her behavior, but I didn't want to be unfriendly to our guests. This kind of behavior is a no-go in the restaurant industry, and I don't understand why nothing is done about it. It definitely needs to stop. Unfortunately, we won't be visiting this restaurant again...even though the food was satisfactory and we still tried to have a pleasant evening.

A very disappointing visit – unfortunately not recommended Our visit to this restaurant was unfortunately a huge disappointment. The food was not at all tasty – the meat in particular was a real problem. It was initially served undercooked. After complaining, it was simply reheated, but even on the second attempt, it was still undercooked. This is not only unappetizing, but also a hygiene concern. To round off this disappointing lunch, we were informed when paying that card payments were not possible – although this was not communicated anywhere beforehand. The nearest ATM was about a 15-minute walk away – each way, mind you. A real nuisance for guests who aren't from the area. Overall, the visit was unfortunately anything but satisfactory. We will definitely not be returning.

By far the worst Persian restaurant I've ever visited. I ate by far the worst Persian food of my life there. Why this place even exists is a mystery to me. The Fesenjan tasted absolutely nothing like real Fesenjan. The kebab and rice were also a disaster – unloving, dry, and of no quality whatsoever. There are numerous Persian restaurants in Düsseldorf that show how it's done right – Saffron is definitely not one of them. Not recommended.

Unfortunately, we cannot recommend it. We were very disappointed with our visit. The meat was undercooked and some of it was still raw – we would have expected more care from a Persian restaurant. Furthermore, we were only informed when paying that card payments were not accepted – there was no indication of this on the menu or in the restaurant. We had to go out to get cash. Overall, a disappointing experience, one we wouldn't want to repeat. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend the restaurant.

Very bad experience. The staff is not friendly at all, especially the two ladies – no hello, no smile, you feel really uncomfortable there. The food was okay, but nothing special, nothing that would motivate you to come back. When paying, they refused to split the bill, pretending they didn't understand, and then reluctantly did it. They even added a €25 tip without asking first – it's almost a rip-off. I will never go there again. Not recommended.

The service staff was friendly, but not always very attentive. I had to ask for their attention several times to pay. I was a little disappointed with the food. The appetizer, herb pancakes, was more like a slightly greasy pancake. The chicken on my grilled skewer was relatively dry, and the side salad consisted of lots of iceberg lettuce, five slices of cucumber, four cocktail tomatoes, and a little canned corn. All in all, it was okay, but nothing special. I'm used to something different from Middle Eastern cuisine. The ambiance is very nice, tastefully decorated, and cozy.

I worked in the kitchen of the Safran restaurant in Düsseldorf and unfortunately, I can't report anything positive. The hygienic conditions in the kitchen are appalling: Food is stored and prepared under questionable conditions, there's little attention to cleanliness, and, in my opinion, basic hygiene standards are not being met. Of course, this isn't visible to guests, but from my experience, I can only advise against it. Cleanliness and food safety should be the top priority in a restaurant—unfortunately, that's not the case here.

In the end, we had to leave hungry. What made things worse was the staff’s indifferent attitude. They simply pointed to a printed notice saying “cash only” and didn’t show any concern. This experience significantly impacted our overall impression. We all ordered Chelo Kabab Kubideh, and it was delicious. The meat surprised me the most; it was juicy and tender. It came with a portion of rice (which was quite a lot) and some vegetables. I'd give it a 9/10 🌟. I missed a bit more salad and perhaps a squeeze of lemon over the rice for freshness. But since it's not eaten like that in Persian culture, I wouldn't really criticize it. The service could have been a bit friendlier, and unfortunately, it took a while before we could even order. But the food came quickly!

We ordered Kurma Sebzi, Fasanjun, and lamb meat with a red soup (forgot the name of the plate). Sebzi was my absolute favorite dish. We ordered then a saffron ice-cream and was very delicious. I highly recommend this place. For everyone. For everyone looking for Middle Eastern cuisine in Düsseldorf.

The waitress who served us that day brought the wrong food and didn't even apologize or offer to bring the right food. An absolute highlight among Persian restaurants! The Safran impresses across the board – with warm hospitality, a cozy atmosphere and, above all, fantastic food. Particularly noteworthy are the delicately braised lamb dishes - incredibly aromatic, buttery and perfectly seasoned. The grilled skewers are also a delight: juicy, cooked to perfection and served with sophisticated side dishes. The food was a mixed bag: the Kabab Barg was very good, we didn't like the soup at all, but the Doogh was excellent. Treating guests with respect should be a given. We called them and asked if we needed to make a reservation. We were then directed to the website. When I asked if they had enough space for a stroller, they simply hung up on me. The ambience on site was very appealing and the menu was very chic. The food was so good so far, but no different than other Persians. The bread was very dry and inedible. As with most Persians, the price is between 20 and 30 euros for the main course. Bread definitely needs to be improved, as should communication.

The waiter tried hard, but also seemed slightly helpless. About the food: The starters we ordered were priced at €8-9. They were uninspired and irrelevant in terms of taste. The eggplant from the pan smelled burnt; and tasted like that too. The main course of lamb was rich and very lime-heavy. The vegetarian meal for €15 was a joke. A tapas plate at the Spaniards is a battle plate in comparison. The shop is completely unsuitable for vegetarians. How the 4.7 stars come together is inexplicable to me. Sorry, but not again

The best food with the worst service – how does that fit together?” I love the food at Safran – really great! But: The service is an absolute disaster every time. After my experience last night, it's finally over for me. I was once again brushed off, ignored and treated disrespectfully by an incredibly rude and overwhelmed service person. And this is by no means an isolated case - this has been evident in the reviews for months. The standard answer “just so much from the heart” now seems like a bad joke when you see how little actually changes. It seems as if the employees there are under massive pressure, fear and poor working conditions - irritable, tense, overwhelmed. This is noticeable – and it is transmitted directly to the guests. I urge the management to address the chaotic conditions on site. Create an atmosphere in which the team can work calmly, friendly and professionally. Because if nothing changes in how we treat guests, at some point even the quality of the food will no longer matter.

Extremely disappointing service - no customer focus I ordered yesterday around 8 p.m. via Lieferando after being told by phone that pre-ordering for pickup was not possible. The food didn't arrive until 10 p.m. - and although I tried desperately to cancel in the meantime, the employee kept telling me that I had to do it myself via Lieferando. This is not correct, as Lieferando support confirmed to me - the cancellation must come from the restaurant. I must have called 18 times. The lady was overwhelmed, emphasized several times that she couldn't make any decisions without the boss - who was on vacation - and simply hung up on me several times. Sometimes I was put on hold for minutes or pushed away straight away. When she said at some point that she had now canceled “in annoyance”, I asked for confirmation - but that was also rejected, accompanied by unfriendly comments. In the end, the driver came with the food - even though I had clearly rejected it. I didn't accept the food - after 2 hours of waiting, complete communication chaos and absolutely disrespectful treatment. I really like the food and have ordered there several times - even used catering. But the service had been marginal before, and this time it was simply unsustainable. When you're so busy, you should employ more staff - but sending customers around in circles, brushing them off and hanging up on them in their faces is the last thing you want. I really hope I get my money back for the unaccepted order.

The food was very good and the environment of the restaurant was pleasant and comfortable, but unfortunately the attitude of one of the waiters (or the head waiter) was not appropriate at all. (Slim Iranian woman with practical nose) He behaved very rude, nervous and disrespectful and as if he had a fight with the customer! This kind of treatment really affected our overall experience and overshadowed the good quality of the food and atmosphere. A few days ago we were in the Safran restaurant in Düsseldorf. Admittedly it was a bit late (9:25 p.m.), so we politely asked if there was any food available and apologized for the late visit. The one waitress with curly hair (younger) welcomed us in a friendly manner and gave us a time slot until 10:15 p.m. (restaurant closes at 10:00 p.m.). When we sat down we were “served” by an older waitress. She was very rude and reproached us several times for not coming earlier and generally ran around hectically. While we were eating, this waitress told her colleague in a volume that we could hear why we were eating so slowly and showed her to the table. The food didn't arrive until 9:56 p.m.... how quickly would she have wanted us to devour our portions?! We have rarely felt so unwanted in a restaurant! We didn't finish the food and left the restaurant at 10:16 p.m. واقعا متاسفم…

Disappointing experience - never again! Unfortunately we were treated very badly in this restaurant. The service left a lot to be desired - the waitress seemed completely unmotivated, as if she had absolutely no desire to work. There was no friendliness and one had the feeling that guests were more of a nuisance than welcome. The food was also a disappointment. It tasted like it wasn't fresh - almost like it had reheated leftovers from the day before. Overall, the price-performance ratio was absolutely not justified. We definitely won't be coming back and unfortunately we can't recommend this restaurant.

First time experiencing Persian cuisine and must say it was a culinary encounter. The lamb fillet and minced meat were very well cooked and tasty. The saffron chicken was tender and was served with a colorful rice that complemented both dishes. I recommend everyone to try this restaurant which has both nice staff and fast service. Tasty meal.

Were there for a candle light dinner. 4 courses, main course to choose from two dishes. Welcome champagne and service top. Noise was a bit much and the food could have been a bit hotter. But overall a great welcome, good food and top wines. Thanks to the excellent waiter.

We visited the clubhouse for the first time in about two years. The outdoor terrace is inviting, but the service, unfortunately, is not great. You're constantly running around, but somehow nothing happens. We only got our drinks after about 40 minutes of waiting, and the food took almost as long. Unfortunately, our second drink order never arrived, but it was on the bill. At least they took it off the bill without any problems when we paid. The food was okay. The schnitzel was frozen, the sauce was from a packet, and the mushrooms weren't fresh. It's a shame, especially with such a small menu, they should at least use fresh produce. We would have liked to stay longer, but unfortunately, we would have just been left high and dry...
