It was tasty and the price was cheap too

So today was the first time I ate here. The pepper cream schnitzel wasn't tasty, the sauce was horrible and the fries were hard. It was probably due to the full old town. So for me it was nothing at all.

I was looking for an authentic German food but the food was not quite authentic. We ordered schnitzel and pork knuckle. They were both dry and overcooked. They served with coleslaws instead of traditional Krautsalat or sauerkraut. I wouldn’t recommend if you are looking for an authentic German food.

Sorry. They don't stick to reservations and become aggressive when you express their displeasure. Absolute no-go!

Pork and chicken schnitzel are really good

The food was good but the price/performance ratio might be a bit high due to the location. This time I wanted to try chicken schnitzel for a change. Maybe I should have preferred meat. Otherwise the mushrooms and pasta were good. However, even though the restaurant was empty when we were there, the lady who was in charge of the service had a long face. I hope everything is fine.

Delicious food, good schnitzels and a rooster breast. Meat was tender. Despite the crowds during the European Championships, the service was good, fast and friendly.

Food is average, service below average. We were charded 10 % tip without being asked … it is not a place I would recommend.

I ate a burger there today, the worst I've ever eaten, inedible. In addition, I had diarrhea 4 hours later and it was definitely from the food. I told the waitress that it was inedible in response to her question about whether it tasted good, but she wasn't really interested. Seriously, inedible!!!!

Great place to sit and watch the hustle and bustle of the area. However the burgers that we had were nothing great, they lacked flavor and the bun to burger ratio was way off which makes eating a pain. Would definitely try somewhere else next time, but they have a large menu so maybe just picked the wrong items.

We were a group (11 people) in Düsseldorf at 10 p.m. on Whit Sunday looking for something to eat together. We were then approached by an employee on the street at the restaurant asking if we would like to eat something there. We were hesitant at first, but after we agreed we went in. We were immediately given a table for 11. We waited a bit for the food but that wasn't a problem because we knew there were tables in front of us and with a monster order of 11 it might take a while. To eat: We ordered 7 burgers, 3 penne pasta & a schnitzel A burger was forgotten (can happen) but came out immediately 3 minutes later. Nothing was done wrong with our order with any extra requests. The food was delicious and we were full. Ambience great. Prices are also fair. We give the store an 8/10.

I was very disappointed with the Manhattan restaurant. I honestly don’t know how they have earned so many apparent excellent reviews. The staff were utterly miserable. No customer service at all. The food was mediocre at best. I ordered the schnitzel and found the meat to be chewy and poor quality. Next door to the restaurant is a tobacco/vape shop and people are constantly smoking outside. So the smell drifts into the restaurant which I find repulsive. There are lots of other restaurants in the area which I’m sure would be much better. I recommend to avoid.

Very quick service. The food was there after 5 minutes. Unfortunately, this was also noticeable in the temperature. The fries and burgers were both lukewarm. The chicken wings were a bit spicy and tasted like little else. The burgers were ok. The service was very friendly, although the team was sometimes a bit too quick, which gave me the impression that they wanted to get rid of us as quickly as possible.

Update 30/4: The owner has filed a complaint to have my review removed. He justifies that I have a fake account which is false. My message was, however, more than correct in relation to the mediocre service received, and the quality of the dishes. But just look at the responses to the comments to get an idea. This says a lot about the concept of service... I add proof of my visit in the photos (the receipt). Google suggested that I review my rating, which I did immediately, going from 3 to 2 stars. My advice, avoid this place. Original post: I recently visited the Manhattan in Düsseldorf and although the experience was ok, there were a few things that left me wanting more. This is how you try to delete negative comments. In my opinion, they are trying to manipulate the ratings here. Reduced to 1 star for this reason. I ate here 2 years ago and the food was very good. Apparently there was a change in ownership because the food now only tastes average. Apparently they have adapted to the old town level.

In the old town of Düsseldorf there are many tourist rip-offs who offer cheap food and bad service because they know that most of them will never come back anyway. This restaurant is an exception to that. The service is fast and friendly, the dishes are delicious and the portions fill even real men. Bread with aioli and then a burger with fries and I had to fight.

Manhattan salad really bad. 90% base shredded iceberg lettuce. Apart from mushrooms, hardly any other vegetables. Overall tasteless. Worse than McD. Rump steak, fries and sauce also tasteless. Unfortunately not again. Price-performance poor. There are enough alternatives in the old town.

I recently had dinner in Manhattan. Unfortunately I have to say that my steak, which I ordered medium rare, was served almost raw, the service was slow and I waited half an hour just for my drink and another 30 minutes for my food, which I ordered at the same time as the drinks . The steak and fries we ordered was a very small portion for almost €30.

The service was very good. We quickly had our drinks and also the food. The food was plentiful and tasted good too.

We were out and about in Düsseldorf's old town and had an appetite for a delicious steak with a delicious salad. No sooner said than done and we quickly decided on the Manhattan. It took a while until we were served, but that was okay. We ordered a fitness salad with our steak. This should contain lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, carrots and corn for a price of €12.90. Sounded very good. We received a full plate of iceberg lettuce, 2 small cocktail tomatoes halved, 4 slices of cucumbers that looked a little older, 2 very thin half strips of pepper and a fingertip full of finely sliced ​​carrots. The salad looked more like a side salad only with a little more iceberg lettuce in it. We had informed the waitress that we were dissatisfied, especially at this price we found the salad to be an impertinence. Since our meat wasn't ready yet anyway, we just paid for our drinks and then went to another restaurant. The waitress, very sweet and friendly, apologized several times for this, but the least she can do is do anything about it. We will generally avoid this store in the future. Everyone has good days and bad days, but we felt really ripped off.

Very nice Place with great food

Service unfriendly. The beef fillet was like a fillet from Aldi... My friend's schnitzel tasted like it had been swimming in the deep fryer for half an hour... and there was one drink per person because we weren't even asked for a second one... I just say: "never again"!

Good hamburger and fries, coleslaw on the side was a nice surprise. Quick and friendly service. Five stars to the servant who offered to charge my iphone so I could find my way back to the hotel with my map-app. Nice place, would go again.

The Manhattan is a very nice place in the old town to have some delicious drinks and cocktails. Food should not be neglected. I had a great salad. My girlfriend had a delicious burger with truffle mayonnaise. The boss was also very nice and gave out a strawberry at the end, Mr. Schmidt, thank you again for everything.

Das Lokal hat eine schöne Lage, ist sauber und gepflegt. Das Essen wurde sehr schnell zubereitet und alle extra Wünsche wurden perfekt umgesetzt. Es war sehr lecker und Preis Leistung haben sehr gut gepasst. Der Service war sehr gut und Onur (der Kellner der für uns zuständig war) war sehr aufmerksam, schnell und zuvorzukommen. Alles in allem ein gelungener Abend. :) wir kommen gerne wieder.

Un lugar excelente para comer o tomar algo, el trato de los camareros es espectacular, y nos vamos súper agradecidos sobre todo con Isabel, la camarera valenciana más maja de todo Alemania. Nos pedimos para beber unas cervezas recomendadas que estaban buenísimas! Y para comer unos calamares a la romana para compartir y una milanesa para cada uno, y estaba todo espectacular!!

The restaurant was decent. The food was expensive, but definitely worth its pricetag. However, our waiter gave us large drinks instead of small drinks, plus charged us for it. I didn’t really mind it, since I actually preferred a large drink, but it’s weird to assume we’d like the biggest portion when we give our order. Also, we got our food FAST. Like- a bit too fast. It felt like they were pushing us a bit, trying to make room for more customers. It felt like it was more about collecting as much money as possible rather than to give the best customer service. However, overall it was a pretty decent experience and I’d come again.

Simply you cant say that you accept ONLY CASH in almost 2024 and being also in Germany with so high economy levels and bank systems. Thats the receipt i got to pay and also the black angus its pre-made and frozen so it cant be less than well done.

Uns (mir und meiner Freundin) wurden direkt Plätze zugewiesen Auf die Bedienung haben wir sehr lange gewartet Kurz bevor wir gehen wollten, kam die Bedienung mit einem schlechten Gewissen, also blieben wir... leider... Die Getränke haben wir bestellt und zügig bekommen. (Geschmackssache und fließt nicht in die Sternebewertung mit ein: Mein Aperol Spritz war sehr stark). Die Burger kamen ungewöhnlich schnell (innerhalb von ca. 5 Minuten). Wir hätten stutzig werden sollen... Das Brötchen war hart, hat nach Zwieback geschmeckt (weil das Brötchen auch zwei Mal gebacken wurde) und der Burger war lauwarm. Mein BBQ Burger hatte keine BBQ Sauce. Das Fleisch war sehr lecker, der Bacon nicht kross, sondern labbrig, der Salat ebenfalls lauwarm und labbrig. Die Pommes waren nahezu ungesalzen und auch lauwarm, der Krautsalat aus der Packung. Wir haben weder Besteck noch Salz bekommen und mussten diese selbst besorgen. Der Nachbartisch hat eine falsche Bestellung bekommen und musste eine halbe Stunde auf das Essen warten. Als ihr "zweites" Essen kam, waren es wieder die falschen Gerichte. Wir haben uns nett unterhalten. Die Mädels haben ihre Bestellung storniert und sind gegangen. Hätten wir auch tun sollen... Dafür ist das Essen zu teuer. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich aber sprach recht leise, sodass man sie bei den lauten Geräuschen (Musik, Gäste) nie ganz verstanden hat und nochmal nachfragen musste.

De prijzen zijn duur hier voor wat je besteld. Zonder te melden bereken ze automatisch €8 fooi op de rekening. Als het in USA is dan snap ik het wel, maar in Duitsland heb ik het nooit meegemaakt.

Personeel is zeer onvriendelijk. Vragen niet of t gesmaakt heeft omdat ze waarschijnlijk zelf ook weten dat de prijs-kwaliteitverhouding volledig zoek ik. Pasta met paar stukjes vlees 22 euro, glas huiswijn 9 euro, glas cola 6 euro.

War schon mehrmals dort, aber dieses Mal dachte der Inhaber nur, weil wir jung aussehen, dass wir nichts bestellen würden. Vielleicht hatte er früher schlechte Erfahrungen mit Kunden gemacht, die nur Getränke bestellten, und dachte nur, weil wir jung aussehen, dass wir auch so handeln würden (obwohl wir alle volljährig sind und ich 21 bin). Er war sehr unhöflich und sagte in wenigen Minuten mehrmals, dass wir alle Essen bestellen sollten. Wir entschieden uns einfach, zu einem anderen Restaurant zu gehen, wo der Service normal ist. Als wir draußen waren, kam er zu uns und sagte, dass wir nicht mehr dort hinkommen sollen, und er wird das allen Mitarbeitern sagen. Ich hatte noch nie so eine schlimme Erfahrung mit dem Restaurant. Als Bestätigung, dass wir früher immer für alle Essen bestellt haben (nicht nur Getränke, wie er sagte), lasse ich die Rechnungen von den letzten Malen sehen. Früher war dort ein sehr netter Mann, der sehr höflich war, aber leider arbeitet er jetzt nicht mehr dort, und nach dieser Erfahrung habe ich keine Lust mehr, diesen Platz zu besuchen.

Wir waren 5 Personen da. Nur drei von uns wollten essen und andere haben entschieden etwas zum Trinken bestellen. Der Inhaber sagte, dass wir ALLE etwas zum Essen bestellen sollen und wenn wir entschieden haben, dass da nicht mehr bleiben möchten, sagte er dass wir noch nie diesen Platz besuchen dürfen und er wird das allen Mitarbeitern sagen. Ich war früher 5 Mal da, aber ich werde noch nie diesen Platz besuchen.

Prima eten maar gestresste bediening. Doordat je kijk hebt op de keuken ervaar je hoe ongezellig ze het met elkaar hebben. Er wordt ruzie gemaakt door de kok met de bediening en dat is te merken in het restaurant. Niet professioneel en drukt de sfeer. Verder wel okay eten, maar niets bijzonders

Wir haben uns für dieses Restaurant entschieden und sind froh diese Entscheidung getroffen zu haben. Das Essen war Mega Lecker und wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Awesome place to eat in the middle of Dusseldorf. Bouncer at the door, keeping the place at the appropriate capacity, friendly staff and the food got in minutes at the table. The grill and the schnitzel were amazing and had an unbelievable coffee. Clearly worth a visit when hungry!

Onur ist der beste und symptomatischte Kellner. Der Aufenthalt war sehr angenehm und jeder Wunsch wurde von Onur erfüllt.

Essen schmeckt gut, aber nichts besonderes. Service war sehr schlecht, trotz wenig Besuch mussten wir lange warten.

The staff was nice and welcoming, and there was heating in the terrace. Inside not so much. The food was not good at all. The schnitzels were overcooked, mine was burnt. You can see the photo, I didn’t want to admit it until I tried it. The pepper sauce was way too strong, overpowering, and that in top of a burned schnitzel that tasted like old oil… did not go well. The staff was nice enough to give me champignon sauce which was very nice. The fries portion is super small and the coleslaw wasn’t tasty either. Overall, good attitude from the staff but bad food and way too expensive. I won’t come again.

Ich war gestern das erste mal dort essen, hat sehr gut geschmeckt, liegt preislich im Rahmen und der Service war sehr freundlich. Komme gerne ochmal wieder. 👍

Das Restaurant hat eine gute Lage auf der Bolkerstrasse und das Ambiente ist ok, innen sogar schön. Toiletten sind im Keller und waren sehr sauber. Die Bedienung war immer freundlich. Es wurde nur Kartenzahlung akzeptiert, was von uns eh bevorzugt wird. Zu unserem Zeitpunkt gab es nur die Mittagskarte. Wir entschieden uns für Burger. Leider war das keine gute Wahl. Brot war viel zu trocken und nicht lecker. Der Krautsalat war ungenießbar. Nicht gewürzt und einfach nur fad. Der gesamte Teller mit den Pommes war lieblos angerichtet. Nüchtern würde ich hier nicht wieder essen gehen.

Alle 3 Steaks waren von leicht bis komplett verbrannt auf einer seite. Service war nett. Ansonsten hat alles geschmeckt. Preise sind in Ordnung

Essen war sehr lecker hatte Lachsfilet mit Reis und Salat hab schon vieles an Lachsfilet gegessen war bisher mit Abstand der beste Lachs cocktails sehr zu empfehlen
