The best place i found in 2024 summer

The Galerie Burghof is recommended, just because of its location directly on the Rhine and in the beautiful Kaiserswerth. The beer garden with the old chestnuts invites you to linger. The staff is very friendly, the small menu is completely sufficient. We had a lovely time and will certainly come back.

Very nice beer garden, seating under ancient chestnut trees. You sit rustically on wooden benches and can enjoy the sunset in the evening. Everything you need for a nice beer garden evening is on the menu. Tarte flambée is particularly recommended. A detour to the Kaiserpfalz and the beautiful district of Kaiserwerth nearby is recommended.

Although officially open until 11pm, it was not possible to get a drink after 10:30pm. We were suddenly informed that it had already been the last round and that the bar was closing at 10:15 p.m. However, this change was not communicated to us, so we ended up sitting in the bright cleaning light. Unfortunately, the service from this site is not recommended.

This rating is really very difficult for me because we are talking about a really extraordinarily beautiful location in a very best location. The atmosphere was extremely appealing but why do you make so little of it. The service was clearly overwhelmed by the rush and the selection on the menu was simply too small. Yes, I know the occupancy of the store speaks for the concept, but a little more remains desirable for “me”.

Food service was non-existent and the quality of the food was unfortunately extremely poor. Especially the portion size. 3 salad leaves with chicken for 16€ and a goulash with 3 pieces of meat for just under 17€. It's a shame because the store itself is very nice. Since you paid for the food in advance, you couldn't even arrange not to pay for it.

The service is friendly so far, but if it says on the internet that the store closes at 11 p.m., I expect that you can at least order a drink until 10:45 p.m. Unfortunately, it is not communicated beyond that that this is the last beer the last round is about. At least that should be communicated so that you can plan accordingly. Instead, you don't get a drink (or eat anyway) from 10:15 p.m. and are thrown out at 10:30 p.m. due to unpleasant floodlights. Why should I sit here for 45 minutes? Because the ambience with the floodlights is so cozy?

In contrast to the city of Bonn, where there are such beer gardens every few hundred meters on both sides of the Rhine, the "Burghof" in the state capital next to the old Rhine ferry is a big positive exception along the Rhine. When in Kaiserswerth, the Burghof with its great view of the Rhine and the dining options is always a recommendation.

Visited the castle courtyard again for a long time. As usual, the beer garden is equipped with extra-long tables and benches. The view of the Rhine is beautiful if you sit correctly. Drinks are delivered. You have to get the food yourself when a corresponding number is called. The tarte flambée is thin and crispy, more cheese than sour cream and is made into a vegetarian tarte flambée using untreated halved cocktail tomatoes and also untreated rocket. It's not just better. That doesn't work at all. Prices are too high in view of this. Overall, no recommendation. The beer garden thrives solely on its location.

Very pleasant atmosphere, with beautiful views of the Rhine.

This beautiful beer garden is in an excellent location on the Rhine and looks unique at sunset. The castle courtyard used to be my first stop when the weather was nice. Unfortunately, the quality of service has deteriorated so much that it's hardly worth going there without being disappointed. I was last there on July 19, 2024 with a total of eight colleagues who didn't know the beer garden yet. We ordered our food at the counter in the interior of the castle courtyard at the same time. Although the beer garden was only about 1/4 full of guests (surprising on a Friday afternoon in high summer temperatures), the meal (mini white sausages and a few tarte flambées) lasted almost three quarters of an hour or more. You could pick up the food at the kitchen counter next to the toilets with a number given out. The tarte flambée I ordered wasn't even prepared. Not even when the digital display for the number failed, my colleagues had already finished eating and especially not after the second reminder from me. I then forewent any further waiting time and therefore also the tarte flambée and had the amount refunded. Explanation from the kitchen: They would not be able to meet the many guest requests. Incidentally, there was no apology. What happens when the beer garden is full? It's a shame, a shame... another beautiful location is going to waste due to poor service and a lack of customer focus.

Very nice and relaxing ambiance, with view on the Rhein. Perfect for a Biergarten afternoon or summer evening. Was a bit disappointed that my goulash only had four small pieces of meat, small portion of Spätzle, but with a nice salad. For nearly €17 I would have expected something a bit more substantial.

One of the most beautiful beer gardens in Düsseldorf, if not in Germany. Directly on the Rhine in Kaiserswerth. Truly a unique location. Especially at sunset. The service is impeccable. The design takes some getting used to, but the absolute plus is that now, in 2024, card payments are actually possible without a minimum amount!!! This is e.g. B. practically impossible in the casemates in Düsseldorf's old town. Congratulations on this decision.

Nice place on the Rhine. It's good to go for a walk. I had a beer and a waffle there. Was very busy on Sunday. Ordering was complicated, you could only get coffee and cake inside and get it yourself. Cold drinks would be needed. You also had to get your own waffles.

We were there on June 26th. in the castle courtyard. Unfortunately we had no luck that day. It wasn't self-service, we had to wait for the overwhelmed waiter. Various service staff stood behind the counter and smiled at the audience and a desperate waiter tried to determine what drink he wanted, it was pitiful to watch. It was just too crowded for a waiter. We were able to get a beer after 1 hour, but not another. The neighbors had to wait longer for their drinks. Many people left because there were no drinks on almost all tables. Only the owner/managing director knows what went wrong in the allocation of service staff. We then went somewhere else and it was great.

Location with a lot of potential, but little is made of it. Tables and benches are left natural, but could be reworked (moss, etc.) There are no seat cushions, even upon request. Food is ok. Nothing special. Of course the view of the Rhine is great.

Last Sunday I was in Kaiserswerth with a group of eleven people and we spontaneously stopped by the castle courtyard. The employees were very polite and courteous. It was no problem for the staff to put together a few tables for us. The food was very tasty and the atmosphere was very cozy. There is outdoor and indoor dining, a service area and a self-service area. Access to the beer garden is barrier-free. The prices are reasonable. Highly recommended.

We were there during the week. The ambience and the view are magnificent. The prices, on the other hand, are less. The service was quick, but the busier it got, the more hectic it became. The food was nothing special and the plate should have been put in the dishwasher again.

The scenery here is amazing. The food is nice. It is a very nice place to have food with an amazing view. It is also self service, so u need to order at the counter and go pick up your food yourself. But it’s worth it.

Been back in the castle courtyard after many years. The elevated view of the Rhine is unbeatable. You sit under huge, shady trees and enjoy the excellent Altbier.

For me, the old “Rolls-Royce” with a hen in it is the symbol of the complex. Every time I have to look inside like a child. The bizarre toilet, which can be described as an art object, always amazes me when I look up ;) The terrace is beautiful and the view of the Rhine adds extra kick and excitement. I can happily recommend it.

Our occasion was a funeral service. The castle courtyard made these hours very pleasant and personal for us, with decorations, very tasty tarte flambée and cheesecake and particularly nice service. Added to this is the view of the Rhine, which is soothing and special in every situation. Thank you for these beautiful hours.

Relaxed sitting in summer with a cool drink. Mixed and pleasant audience. Nice proximity to the Rhine. Light breeze. Food corresponds to an upscale snack level. Simple dishes prepared perfectly, also good for bike tourers. Walks through the old town and along the Rhine to the ferry are fun here, the "Burghof" is always part of it, attracting like a magnet. Down to earth. Burghof collective.

Waiters were quick and very friendly. Beer glasses were full. Price per glass 3.10. Unfortunately it's also normal. We only ate bread snacks here for the reception. They were served very nicely on a board. Therefore no rating of the food. However, the menu was very appealing. Plenty of rustic seating outside directly on the Rhine.

Great view of the Rhine. Drinks quality and price really good. Service not attentive, would have liked to have ordered a second drink. You were simply ignored, This also happened at neighboring tables. After a long wait, I got up to pay and went to the counter.

Zuerst das gute, das Essen war sehr gut und das Ambiente war auch sehr schön. Schönes Ambiente im Restaurant selber aber auch auf den Toiletten. Jetzt leider das schlechte, wir müssten den Service mehrmalig darauf hinweisen, wie man den Job richtig macht. Als wir ankamen mussten wir über 20 Minuten warten, bis wir was bestellen konnten, wir mussten auf uns aufmerksam machen so dass jemand zu uns an den Tisch kam. Ebenfalls mussten wir die Bedienung darauf hinweisen, dass das Essen das über 15 Minuten auf dem Tresen stand, auch mal zu uns zu bringen wäre. Leider war das Essen nicht mehr so warm wie es sein sollte aber trotzdem sehr gut. Man musste auch auf sich hinweisen wenn man noch etwas zu trinken etc. möchte. Auch redet die Bedingung lieber mit den Kunden, als sich um den Service zu kümmern. Bis auf diese leider eher negativ genannten Punkte ein nettes Restaurant. Aber hier und da muss man wirklich aufstocken und dem Personal mal beibringen, wie man so einen Job richtig, gut, flott und nett zu machen hat.

Sehr schönes, alt eingerichtetes Lokal. Perfekte Lage im Sommer und Frühling, da Garten geöffnet ist. Mein Salat mit Pute war gut. Der Service sehr freundlich und fleißig. Das Ambiente kann ich nicht mit 5 Sternen beurteilen, denn das ist Geschmackssache.

Very nice ambient. Quite popular place, thus not always easy to find a spot. The food you have to order inside and remember the number, as it will be then shown on a screen for you to pick up. Choice is not huge but ok. They have salads, flammkuchen, I recommend Gulasch. Drinks you can order with the servers like beer and wine, but for aperol you also have to go inside into another bar area. This moving around is a bit annoying. The prices are rather high, especially for drinks, especially if Zoo habe to pick them yourself. But the view is amazing and atmosphere is very nice.

Seit 30 Jahren bin ich immer mal wieder hier. Und aufgrund der Deko bin ich hier im Halloween 🎃 Mir gefällt es hier gut. Gedämpftes Licht, frische Getränke (vor allem der Pfefferminztee) und eine kleine Auswahl an frischen Speisen. Allerdings ist es auch nicht so wirklich preiswert.....

Wohlfühlbistro mit Terrasse ganz nah:für Raucher sehr angenehm mit Blick auf den Rhein und unmittelbar verbundenem Biergarten der herlich im Sommer zum Einsatz kommt.Dann gibt's noch das schöne Restaurant mit ganz schönem gar Candle Light und auch da ist die gute Küche gefragt. Alles in allem das Gesamtpaket an Gastronomie mit toller Umgebung was will man mehr. Die Anfahrt auch mit paar Kilometern mehr lohnt aber immer und für mich selbstverständlich. Sowas ist auch nicht überall zu finden. Es ist einfach einmalig !

Popped in to have a quick bite for lunch after a tour around this little town called Kaiserswerth. It certainly is a restaurant full of character. The main dining area was closed for function during lunch time, so we were redirected to a smaller bar section in the back towards the Rhine river. The restaurant’s décor is a mixture of the Medieval and Halloween vibe (see pictures). We ordered a couple of flammkuchens and a baked kartoffen to share. The food took a while to arrive, and they tasted very average.

Außer dem schönen Blick auf den Rhein, gibt es hier nichts besonderes. Auf der Karte nur kleine Schnell-Gerichte passend zum Biergartenbetrieb.

Burghof bietet eine familiäre Atmosphäre. Das Personal ist mega sympathisch und entspannt. Ob Salat, Flammkuchen oder Brezeln ist für kleine und große Hunger gesorgt. Immer wieder gerne.

Tolle Lage, nette Leute, schöne Karte. Haben allerdings noch nie drinnen gesessen...

Die online Speisekarte ist nicht immer aktuell, aber vor Ort gibt es genug Auswahl, dass jeder etwas finden dürfte. Leckerer Salat, fantastischer Ausblick! Unter den Kastanienbäumen hagelt es im Herbst gelegentlich Einschläge von oben :-)

Ich war mit einigen Arbeitskollegen hier zum Abendessen. Die Location ist schön (der eine Stern ist dafür), der Außenbereich ist am direkt am Rhein - aber das war es auch schon. Es gibt leider zwei Punkte zu bemängeln: - Es gibt weder WLAN für Gäste noch vegane Gerichte, auf deren Website steht allerdings, dass beides vorhanden sei. Man kann sich nichts auf die Fahne schreiben, was man letztendlich doch nicht erfüllt! - Die Preise für Getränke und Speisen sind ziemlich hoch, aber die Qualität ist nicht besonders herausragend. Kartenzahlungen sind erst ab 20,00 € möglich, was auch nicht zeitgemäß ist. Ziemlich enttäuschend, ich würde vorerst nicht nochmal kommen - schade...

Der Service ist sehr unfreundlich!!

Ein nettes Restaurant mit gemütlichem und schönen Biergarten an der Burgallee, direkt neben der alten Kaiserpfalz und am historischen Stadtkern von Kaiserswerth. Gerade bei schönem Wetter kann man hier draußen sitzen und das Wetter unter den großen Kastanienbäumen genießen. Bei unserem letzten Besuch am Wochenende war es natürlich recht voll, aber wir haben trotzdem einen Sitzplatz gefunden. Leider ist der Bestellvorgang etwas umständlich: Warme Getränke muss man selbst im Innenbereich bestellen und abholen, kalte Getränke werden am Tisch serviert, warme Speisen muss man dagegen wieder selbst bestellen und abholen. Leider passt das Preisniveau aber nicht zur gebotenen Qualität – die Flammkuchen waren für den Preis (Elsässer Art 10,50 € bzw. Mediterrane Art 11,50 €) eher spärlich belegt, ebenso waren die Pfannkuchen mit rund 7-9 € vergleichsweise teuer. Auch wenn der Standort insgesamt schön ist, finde ich das Preisniveau vor Ort doch etwas zu hoch, vor allem für Selbstbedienung. Kartenzahlung ist erst ab 20 € möglich – Sorry, aber das empfinde ich heutzutage als nicht mehr zeitgemäß.

The best place for beer and view in Kaiserwerth to Rhein river

Unter einem Baum draußen gesessen und den herrlichen Blick auf den Rhein, die Fähre und das andere Ufer genossen. Sehr freundliche Bedienung, diesmal nur eine Maracujaschorle getrunken, aber auch die Küche ist empfehlenswert. Ich liebe den Speckpfannkuchen.

We had dinner here with friends and were sat at one of the outside tables. The waiter took and delivered out drinks order in a friendly and timely manner. We also ordered a variety of flammkuchen (similar to pizza); the traditional bacon and the tuna versions were very tasty. Food ordering is done at the counter and you then have to wait for your number to come up on a display before collecting your food. You, therefore, either have to be slightly removed from the conversation as you keep am eye on the display, or risk your food being on the pass for an extended period if you miss your number coming up. That said, it was a lovely evening with enjoyable food, in a fabulous setting; the sunset views over the Rhine are magnificent. Will definitely return when back in Düsseldorf.

Ah the Burghof in lovely Kaiserswerth, the place to go. It really does not seem to have changed at all in the last 20 years. Still the same weird old car in the courtyard, still pretty much the same menu. Except folk’s age. Just to be the young crowd that drank here. And it’s still the same people now. Just older.

Die Location direkt mit Blick auf den Rhein ist wirklich super. Aber meiner Meinung nach ist der Rest eher mittelmäßig. Für mich das „schlechteste“ ist die Hygiene an den Tischen/Tafeln draußen. Überall Hinterlassenschaften von Vögeln sowohl auf den Tischen als auch auf den Bänken. Das Essen, wenn man denn draußen isst, muss dann quasi direkt neben den Stellen gegessen werden. Abgesehen davon war das Essen ok, aber nicht besonders. Ich hatte den Elsässer Flammkuchen. Geschmacklich ok, aber klein und spärlich belegt. Die Getränkeauswahl fand ich auch in Ordnung. Der Service war auch eher mittelmäßig, da ich fand, dass er etwas unaufmerksam war. Da es aber relativ voll war, ist das verzeihbar. Es gibt außerdem einen Parkplatz bei dem am Eingang steht man müsse 4€ zahlen, die dann in der Location gezahlt werden können. War bei und aber nicht so und im Endeffekt haben wir kostenlos geparkt. Ich würde vermutlich nicht nochmal hin.

Immer wieder einen Ausflug wert! Das Ambiente ist prima, die Speisen sind völlig ok für einen Biergarten und es macht einfach Spaß, bei gutem Wetter den Garten zu genießen.

Der Metalltisch klebte unterirdisch. Frage an den Kellner, ob er mal langwischen kann. Antwort: Er hat keine Zeit kann mir einen Lappen an der Theke holen. Sorry das geht auch im Biergarten nicht.

The location is good, but the staff's unfriendliness cast a shadow over the experience. As someone who doesn't speak German, I felt profoundly unwelcome and uncomfortable during my visit. I don’t recommend.

The views unfortunately do not make up for the lack of respect on the part of some of the staff. I never expected to be treated so poorly in my own city.
