It's been a long time since I've had such delicious Arabic food. The best falafel I've ever had. Overall, everything is perfect, from the detailed decor, the delicious food, and the friendly, attentive waitress. We'll definitely be back soon.

This was by far one of the most disgusting restaurant experiences I've ever had. Hair in the food—and not just anywhere, but right in the sandwich. Absolutely disgusting and a joke in terms of hygiene. The falafel were still raw, mushy, and inedible inside. I seriously wonder if the kitchen even knows how to fry. Safi Restaurant? Never again. The mere thought of it still makes my stomach churn. Things like this shouldn't even be open.

Hello, we were at Safi today. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to our expectations – it could have been a bit more seasoned. Because our plates were still half full at the end, we were offered a replacement meal, as "no guest should leave the restaurant hungry," but we didn't want that anymore. What a shame.

The restaurant is simply beautiful, and the atmosphere is very pleasant—full of warmth and genuine authenticity. The food tastes amazing. But the best part is the service—everyone is very polite and incredibly friendly. I can definitely recommend it highly!

Here you'll find a journey to Damascus! If you want to take your palate on a new journey of flavors, you'll be well served here! Traditionally, Syrians eat with their hands. When I asked how it's done, the waitress immediately brought out gloves and explained, in a very hygienic way, how to make a boat with the bread to send the hummus on a journey of flavor. Extremely delicious food! We had the mixed platter for two recommended by the waitress, so we, who had no previous contact with Syrian food, could get a broad overview right away! We will definitely be back!!! My highlight: beans with tomato sauce and coriander and the fried bread with chickpeas!

We've rarely had such an incredibly good meal! The ambiance was wonderful, the service outstanding, especially because each dish was explained to us, and the lady was incredibly friendly. Great Mediterranean cuisine. Lots of vegetarian options. Spicy but not hot, great hummus, falafel, and salads. It's best to go with a group of people and order a shared platter, or everyone can choose their own meze (appetizer) and have everything placed in the middle for everyone to help themselves to. Syrian food only becomes truly authentic when the entire table is filled with plates... Very attentive service, reasonable value for money.

Yesterday, I and my friends were able to enjoy the wonderful ambiance and truly delicious food at Safi Restaurant. We received a warm welcome and were given a great seat by the window, allowing us to watch the hustle and bustle of Passau's old town. We opted for a mixed meat platter, and we absolutely loved it. We tucked away. We also loved the specialty drinks, like the date juice. All in all, it was a three-hour visit that left nothing to be desired. We'll definitely be back! Thank you :)

I was at Safi Restaurant in Passau today and would like to honestly describe my mixed impressions. I enjoyed Turkish cuisine – and yes, the food here tasted really good. The hummus was well-seasoned, the dishes freshly prepared, so basically solid. But unfortunately, my visit was severely marred by several things. When the waiter came, there was a fly in the hummus – it completely ruined my appetite. I was simply out. On top of that, the place seemed generally unkempt. The restrooms smelled extremely bad, which massively spoiled the overall impression. The drinks were also lukewarm – a real no-go in warm weather. What particularly disappointed me was the atmosphere. I usually love Turkish restaurants with live music, but here the music created a depressing mood rather than a good mood. There was no sense of hospitality or warmth that I usually experience in Turkish restaurants. Today, therefore, I can only give it two stars. It's a shame, because the food alone has potential – but everything around it needs to improve significantly for me to come back.

We were there on a very quiet afternoon. We were immediately greeted warmly and served very nicely. The food was delicious and very lovingly prepared.

We discovered this restaurant through the delicious falafel from the new shop downtown. And what can we say? We're thrilled! Such a lovingly run, family-run restaurant with incredibly good food. Highly recommended!

We stumbled across it spontaneously on a city trip. The food was wonderful; the two of us ordered the vegetarian platter. Generous portions, lovingly presented, and truly delicious—and simply something new. The service was very friendly and accommodating, and the ambiance was beautifully decorated and clean. I had high expectations when I visited this restaurant, but was unfortunately disappointed. The food was good, but the service left a lot to be desired. Despite a prior reservation, our table was not clean upon arrival and we were seated elsewhere instead. The prices are absolutely overpriced for the amount of food on offer. I paid 20 euros for a dish called "Sherhard M'Taffaie" which had hardly anything to offer. It was supposed to be a steak dish, but what I got were thin strips of steak, and the plate was filled mostly with vegetables rather than meat. Additionally, we ordered tea that was already heavily sweetened - which I think is incomprehensible, especially considering people who might have diabetes, for example. To make matters worse, I wanted to try the sandwiches advertised on the restaurant's website. However, these were crossed out on the local menu. When asked, the staff explained that the sandwiches had not been offered for a long time. Why hasn't this information been removed from the website long ago? Overall my experience was disappointing and I would not recommend this restaurant.

Safi means pure, clear and unclouded in Arabic. This word also describes the culinary dishes that the restaurant offers in careful selection and balanced combinations. Very friendly staff, great oriental ambience and fair prices. Warmly recommended.

There were 8 of us and we got a great place! The date juice was very good - not too sweet not too sour! We ordered the Vegetarian Platter for 6 and the half chicken and the food was EXCELLENT! The waiters were also very open and nice

Everything was very bad compared to Arabic restaurants in Berlin and western Germany and prices are very expensive compared to restaurants in Berlin for a restaurant in a city like Passau. I do not recommend this Arab restaurant so you can go to Munich and enjoy the quality of restaurants there because it is close to Passau

We happened to walk past it on a trip to Passau. I had never had Syrian food before and was completely surprised. The very tasty food and friendly, good-humoured staff made the short stop something special.

An all-round excellent experience at Restaurant Safi! From the friendly welcome to the last bite, everything was perfect. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, ideal for a relaxed dinner. We ordered 1x the vegetarian and 1x the meat platter for 2 people each and a dessert. I was particularly impressed by the excellent quality of the food – fresh, aromatic and prepared with a lot of love. The selection of dishes is diverse and you can immediately tell that high-quality ingredients are used here. The service was courteous and attentive. An absolute insider tip in Passau! It's best to reserve a table by the window to get a great view of Passau Cathedral. I will definitely come back and can only warmly recommend the restaurant!

With our visit to Safi we tried Damascus cuisine for the first time. Our first impression when entering the restaurant was: nice atmosphere and very nice staff. The meals were all of very good quality. Unfortunately, neither of us like the taste of tahini that much. That's why we had to realize that Damascene cuisine wasn't really our thing. But the chef can't do anything about it. What we both found very tasty were the falafels. We actually didn't know until now. When the chef noticed this, he actually gave us a portion of falafel on the house. We both found that incredibly nice. These were definitely not the last falafels we ate. If you love tahini or would like to try Damascene cuisine, the restaurant is highly recommended. We have very fond memories of the Safi visit.

In February 2025 we came to visit with my girlfriend and the waiter saw that I had a bouquet of flowers for her. He brought a small bouquet of flowers and offered drinks as an aperitif! The service was exceptional, very nice and pretty quick. The mezze were delicious, especially the falafel, the best I've ever tasted! We will come back often!

All in all a very successful evening with the Safi family in the restaurant. The cozy atmosphere and the wide range of Syrian dishes are perfect. We ordered a variety of different dishes and they were all really tasty. We will come back next time we visit Passau.

Eating a varied meal in a large group is as easy as it is beautiful at Safi with the mixed platters, whether with or without meat. The kids particularly liked the falafel and the homemade (rose) lemonade. And we were lucky, there was also delicious semolina cake and baklava for dessert.

The food is delicious, there are many vegan & vegetarian options and also many meat dishes. I highly recommend the combos, they are very well served and although the portions are large, the food is so delicious that you will want to finish the plate. The date juice was a great surprise. A Syrian restaurant, with charm and coziness! The furnishings are traditional and create an atmosphere in which you immediately feel at home. As a family business, hospitality is very important here - the waiter was incredibly attentive and warm. We had a large platter of various dishes, all of which were excellent.
