Beautifully decorated, everything very clean. Absolutely fantastic service, super attentive and friendly. The food selection is huge, and there are many vegan options. Everything was delicious, and the drinks were also excellent. They offer interesting lemonades and great cocktails. You'll be truly full and leave this restaurant completely delighted.

My husband and I visited this place for dinner on a Saturday night. The atmosphere was absolutely amazing, the staff was so friendly and the food was soooo delicious (also portions are really good). The food took some time, but we were enjoying everything so it was okay for us. We will come back for sure🤤

A real taste experience! The Safari Restaurante in Kaiserslautern is a real insider tip for anyone who wants authentic African cuisine. The dishes are prepared with a lot of love, incredibly aromatic and taste simply fantastic - you can immediately tell that traditional recipes and fresh ingredients are used here. The staff is super friendly, attentive and happy to take the time to explain the dishes if you are not yet familiar with African cuisine. The atmosphere is warm and inviting – you immediately feel at home. Whether vegetarian or with meat, everyone will find something here. We will definitely come back and can only recommend the restaurant!

Incredibly great service. Even if you need advice on dishes with unusual allergies, they take the time and offer a selection of dishes. On top of that, everyone loves children. We had a wonderful evening for young and old. Gladly again

Simply delicious and really something completely different. Super nice team, very clean and the food is simply prepared with love and it tastes very, very tasty. Recommendation from my side is number 18. There you have almost every dish to try (it's also available without meat and if I'm not mistaken, it's vegan).

The food is always made fresh with love giving us a true experience of authentic Ethiopian culture and cuisines in Germany. Mr. Eseyas the owner is a great man who always takes a moment to engage with the customers. His Dream Team consist of Mrs. Timnit and Mr. Amanuel and the other team members do a superb job of making me always feel welcomed and at home every time I visit, which is often 😊. The food was so spicy that you didn't notice any taste other than spicy. Otherwise you were pretty much left alone.

The African food is worth the visit, very tasty and plentiful. The service is perfect and the ambience too. At the beginning the music was a bit loud, but then they adjusted it.

I can absolutely recommend this establishment. I was pleasantly surprised once I stepped in, to find how many people were enjoying themselves. Fantastic service and you can tell the team is very well adjusted to working with each other. The food was delicious. The mixture of people dining was really refreshing. I will be coming back.

I went to Safari for the first time last night with my girlfriend, who lives in the States. I had no experience with African cuisine before. All the dishes I ate (of course I forgot the names of the dishes🙄) were very good Delicious. The friendly service is happy to answer any questions you may have about the food. I can definitely recommend the Safari.

I infected my girlfriend with my love for East African cuisine! Many years ago I was often able to enjoy injera and the like in Berlin and after my holiday in Tanzania this year I was longing for East African cuisine. Thanks to Google I found Safari and I am absolutely thrilled! We shared a starter plate, the Sambusa filled with chicken, and it was a poem! For the main course I had Gored Gored with Timtimo and my friend Tibsi with Timtimo, the portions were ideal for filling you up, but the dessert couldn't be missed ;) The black rice with mango sauce was simply fantastically delicious, just like the non-alcoholic cocktails and also the Dju Dju! We would be happy to come back from Zweibrücken to Kaiserslautern at any time, the staff, the ambience and the food are absolutely convincing!

Ein Fruchtbier aus einer Schale trinken, daß Essen mit den Fingern zu sich nehmen, ein tolles Ambiente genießen und von netten Bedienungen kulinarisch verwöhnt werden, dann ist man hier richtig. Ich war sehr angenehm überrascht von den wirklich leckeren Essen und dem guten Bier dazu. Es wird nicht mein letzter Besuch dort gewesen sein. Aufgrund der Größe des Lokals sollte man lieber, grade an den Wochenenden, reservieren. Die Reservierungsbestätigung läßt nicht lange auf sich waren.

Das Ambiente war sehr gemütlich und ansprechend. Der Service war herzlich und Hat sich Zeit genommen mit unserem Sohn einen Spaß zu machen. Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen.

We had the vegetarian platter for two people. With Timtimo, Alicha, Okra and Shiro. Everything was delicious and highly recommended! African cuisine is of course very diverse and in this case (Ethiopian/Eritrean) an absolute delight. The service was also very good. Friendly, competent and we asked every now and then whether everything was OK. We'll be back, very soon..!

First time I tried Ethiopian food, it was delicious and I would love to come back again. Unique eating experience as you use a flatbread to pickup your food to eat . Nice and spicy with good variety.

The food was extremely tasty and the service was very nice and explained everything very well 😊 We had the fruit beer with mango and with passion fruit from the traditional bowl 🎊 For the main course we had a vegan and a lamb dish 😊 We traditionally ate with our right hands ✋ At the end we had Ethiopian coffee from a clay pot with (if you wanted) sugar and popcorn 😍

Yesterday I experienced a new culinary highlight that was unknown to me. African food... Safari Kaiserslautern. Be sure to reserve, otherwise you don't have much chance of getting a table. I don't know what it looks like during the week. But there is a lot going on there on weekends. Staff very friendly. The menu is not overflowing with many dishes containing meat (chicken, lamb and beef), but vegetarians will also get their money's worth. Since many of the dishes were unfamiliar territory for me, the staff helped and explained exactly what they were. Ordered a starter platter and got all the small dishes that were served with a salad. Plus dips. The main course was served in a small oven with the meat still simmering in the sauce. Not only did it look exciting, it also tasted very good. You are served "African flatbread", which reminds us Germans of a pancake that tastes a bit sour. This means that food is traditionally eaten with your fingers. There is still cutlery. You can order side dishes. Absolutely brilliant in taste. If you like it a little spicier, you can use a spicy paste to season it. Afterwards an Ethiopian coffee... Absolutely top price for what you get. In the restaurant there are pictures and decorations that make you feel like you have been transported to East Africa for the duration of your stay. I can recommend Safari to anyone who wants to try something different.

If you appreciate African cuisine, this place is a must! Particularly recommended as a starter are the Sambusa (also known as Samosa), which are very tasty. If you come in a group, you should try one of the combination platters. This gives you a very good impression of the diversity of Eritrean cuisine. Afterwards, black rice and a freshly roasted coffee!

Super tasty and simply something special! We liked it very much. Attention: some dishes are a bit spicy and overall the food was well/strongly seasoned. However, we found it tip top. Unfortunately, the service wasn't that attentive and we waited for a very, very, very long time - but that didn't detract from the lovely evening.

Es war ein schöner Aufenthalt in einem ungewöhnlichen Restaurant. Das Essen war sehr lecker und authentisch. Man war gehalten mit den Fingern zu essen. Wir hatten uns für eine fleischlastige Vorspeisen- und Hauptgerichtplatte entschieden. Also von Allem etwas! Das Bier wird in Schalen gereicht. Wir kommen wieder.

Auch zu empfehlen war das Mango Bier, was in einer Schale gereicht wird, sowie der äthiopische Kaffee. Die Bedinung war sehr freundlich. Ist mal etwas anderes zu den herkömmlichen Restaurants. There were three of us in the restaurant. Found the stay very pleasant. Food was absolutely delicious. Since we couldn't decide, we ordered the meat platter for 3 people. It was slightly spicy but not too much. We were all fed up and will definitely visit this restaurant again.

When I'm in my old home, I always like to be a guest at the safari. The food is just so delicious and suitable for both meat eaters and vegetarians. You can share plates or order something for yourself. You should also try the African beers, whether fruit-flavored or neutral. You should always reserve a table; getting a seat spontaneously is rather difficult. 5 stars from me!

I've never eaten African food before and was really pleasantly surprised. It was all very tasty. The food is generally very spicy and slightly spicy. Safari is a superb Eritrean restaurant, serving authentic dishes and exceptional service. The moment we walked in the door, we were greeted like family. Everyone exuded warmth and welcome, with genuine smiles and an obvious love of what they do. My only regret was that I could not finish all my food, because the portion is sizeable, but I will be back.

I just eat Shiro and drank coffee. The Shiro is as authentic as it can get. The atmosphere and staff are really nice.

When my nephew suggested Safari Restaurant which primarily serves Ethiopian, and Eritrean food, I was eager and enthusiastic to visit it because the last time I tasted Ethiopian food during our Cape to Cairo road expedition, I liked had liked it. Of course, during that expedition, we were fortunate enough to get an opportunity to taste authentic Ethiopian food by the Ethiopian chefs in Ethiopia itself. One of the reasons I liked Ethiopian food could perhaps be that like Indians, Ethiopians also like it spicy. Though the spices they add in their preparations are different than the ones used by the Indians, the net result is the same, they make them taste mouth wateringly hot and spicy. Additionally, the Ethiopian bread called 'Injera' made from the teff flour (similar to a crêpe) is very similar to the bread prepared in Southern India called 'Dosa.' We visited 'Safari Restaurant' on a weekday evening. It wasn't crowded at all. The interior was well lit, and decorated on the African theme. We were immediately seated at a table for two, and handed over two menu cards. Menu was nicely printed with local names of the dishes along with their respective ingredients and short descriptions, and photos. It helped a lot. I ordered "Tsebhi Derho with Alicha" for myself, whereas my nephew ordered "Zigni Denish with Shiro" for him. According to the menu, "Tsebhi Derho with Alicha" means Chicken drumstick and boiled egg slow cooked in a light spicy onion tomate sauce, seasoned and refined in the traditional way; it includes side salad and three Injeras, and "Zigni Denish with Shiro" means Beef and potato cubes slow cooked in a slightly spicy onion and tomato sauce, seasoned and refined in traditional way; it includes side salad and three Injeras. To drink, we also ordered beverages "Shirley Temple" (Ginger Ale, Sprite, grenadine, lemon) for me, and "Virgin Caipirinha" (Ginger Ale, lime, brown sugar) for my nephew to go with it. Our orders were delivered without much wait. They looked appealing and appetizing. We ate our dishes with hands like we eat dosa. The food was good. We both enjoyed our respective dishes, and drinks.

The environment made me relive a trip to Africa that I took this summer. The restaurant is family-run and you can tell by the care of the treatment and the kindness of the staff. The quality of the food is phenomenal and the portions are truly generous. It was an authentic dinner and a unique experience.
