Sadhu in Flensburg

We were here on Saturday October 26, 2024. -Super delicious food. -We can only recommend it. -There were four of us and we ordered mixed platters for two people each. -We recommend reserving a table in advance. -Although fully booked, attentive service. Would love to come back. Thanks Addendum: We were able to pay by card and there was also a receipt

We bought take away. Large portions and it tasted delicious. Very friendly and helpful staff. I'd love to come back. Not so good that you couldn't pay with a Visa card.

The food was very tasty. We had lunch, the prices were really very fair and when we asked we were given more rice. Service was also very friendly. Unfortunately it was very cold in the restaurant, which is why I gave the ambience one star less.

Went there recently with 4 people. Very tasty and a good selection of food. Unfortunately we had a car with us and didn't get to enjoy cocktails. They were eaten in abundance by other guests and were probably quite tasty. Next time we'll be smarter.

When it comes to Indian cuisine, this restaurant in Flensburg is the best address. Even with the delivery service, the food comes to the table hot. Simply great!!!

The food was really good and everything was freshly prepared. But here's the thing: the staff seemed stressed even though there wasn't that much going on there on a Tuesday. But what irritated us and our next table even more was that only cash payment was accepted and there was no receipt. According to Keller they would rather have cash...??? We ask ourselves why? Unfortunately the atmosphere is not remotely Indian...it's a shame. Food was great but the rest was a flop!

Vi er en familie der søger en frokost og kommer forbi Sadhu hvor der dufter dejligt af krydret indisk mad, restauranten ser egentlig lidt kedelig ud og trænger til lige at blive shinet lidt op med maling og hist og pist. Men vi går derind og bliver taget imod af en smilende og venlig tjener (måske ejeren) Vi bestiller lidt mad og drikkevarer. Sammen med drikkevarerne for vi en lille snack på huset papadams med 3 forskellige dips til som alle smager dejligt og gør at vi ikke tænker over ventetiden på maden da vi bare sidder og hygger med snacks. Da maden bliver serveret er det i små autentiske gryder hvor det ser super indbydende ud og da vi smager maden smiler vi alle fordi at det smager så dejligt. Vores datter på 6år siger at det er noget af det bedste indiske mad hun har smagt. Tusinde tak for god mad.

Sadhu is our favorite Indian restaurant in Flensburg. The dishes are freshly prepared and taste excellent. Two pepper breads and 3 sauces are served free of charge before the ordered dishes. This shortens the waiting time and gets you in the mood for the culinary feast that follows. There is inexpensive lunch from Monday to Friday. You never leave the restaurant hungry. The staff is friendly and will advise you if you have any questions about the Indian dishes. We were in Flensburg on October 18th, 2024 and tried the lunch menu. The dal was bland and not spicy at all. More like a lentil soup. The lamb dish was okay. A large portion of rice filled us up. The garlic naan was very greasy and chewy. So we left the restaurant, which we know much better, rather disappointed.

Food was very tasty & plentiful, good prices & fresh mango lassi, The waiters were friendly but perhaps could have been a little more attentive. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated, but since the door was constantly open, it was quite cool at our table.

Great place. Came for lunch and had something from the lunch menu and I really enjoyed it. Great price for what I got. I will be back.

The food was good, but unfortunately almost cold as the delivery arrived almost an hour later than announced. The driver was very stressed and was apparently late with his deliveries - probably not his fault. This needs to be planned better, as some other reviews also suggest. It's best not to order, but rather eat on site.

The food at Sadhu is very tasty, both on site and for home delivery. Very friendly staff, a delicious selection of different vegetarian dishes and very fair prices - highly recommended!

If I want a proper Indian food, do visit here. I love the food. We ordered thali and that’s delicious.

I have tried a lot of Indian restaurants and i have to say Sadhu‘s preparation of food and their friendliness wants me to come back here. Ordered a samosa while sitting in a beer bar across and they were super friendly, got the samosa across the street and to my relief did not use any packaging or single use plastic for it! We’ll definitely be going back!

Delivered after 85 minutes instead of 40. I wouldn't recommend!

Until now, I have only sat outside and enjoyed the food in the summer, but lovely food, great service and good cocktails :)

Have only been there once so cautious 4 stars. Upside potential - may be updated. EDIT: So, the fifth star has arrived. Consistently good food and a head waiter with an almost uncanny memory, friendly, professional, obliging: that's what makes the difference.

I had been there so many times and I never got dissatisfied by the quality of food. The atmosphere is so nice and the best is the behaviour of the staff they are so nice and welcoming. I always love to visit and enjoy eating food there.

I recently dined at sadhu Indian restaurant that exceeded all my expectations. The flavors were absolutely authentic, with each dish bursting with rich, aromatic spices that truly transported me to India. The service was equally impressive—staff were attentive, friendly, and made sure every detail was perfect. From the moment I walked in, I felt warmly welcomed. The combination of exceptional taste and outstanding service made this a memorable dining experience. Highly recommended for anyone craving a genuine taste of India!

It used to be authentic and really good. NOT ANYMORE. We have been eating at Sadhu's for two years in a row until we have recently discovered that they have operated a big shift in the quality and quantity of the food they serve. My favourite dish, "palak paneer" (spinage + lovely and sophisticated Indian spices + rather small pieces of home made Indian cheese) has morphed into an utterly deceiving "paneer palak" made of gross chunks of home made Indian cheese sprinkled with a boaringly tasting spinage paste made most likely in a haste and heated in the micro waves for a quick serve. My husband's "chicken Masala" was composed of a few little pieces of chicken covered in a ton of cheap red gravy mixed with canned mushrooms. Sadhu, are you serious?

My favorite Indian restaurant in all of Flensburg. I've tried the chicken mango at many others, but no one has it as tasty as this! The same applies to naan bread. Friendly and quick service. Only finding a parking space is a bit stupid.

Rating: Butter Chicken The butter chicken completely convinced me. The tomato cream sauce was extremely tasty with a pleasant buttery note. The portion size was just right and the spiciness was light but not at all intense. The chicken was delicious, juicy and soft. Particularly noteworthy is the very tasty naan bread, which went perfectly with the dish. Overall, a very successful meal that I can warmly recommend.

Simply like that is delicious and nice place. We were there for lunch with 3 adults and 3 children aged 3 and 4. And the service was simply that good! The food was incredibly delicious. Both for the boxes and the little ones. And so we paid no more than DKK 700 and were all full (2 men)! Can only be highly recommended.

The Lassi for a whopping €5.50 was actually more of an Ayran and not an original Lassi. A butter Nan bread for €3.90 is very overpriced.

The food is really very good, as is the ambience. However, we had to wait a long time for the food and that was on a Monday evening. Otherwise really recommended.

Very busy and super hot restaurant. Unfortunately, a place where you choose to cheat with the dishes, which I can understand, so sauce is made separately and cooked meat is added later. If you are used to "Indian" food where the whole dish has been bubbling for hours, you will be a little disappointed. Very short waiting time for both drinks and food despite being very busy.

Maybe 4,5* instead of 5 🤔🤷‍♂️? I'm Tamil. My parents are from Sri Lanka. We really liked the food 😀 The reason I'm not giving 5* completely is because I think there was a small challenge communicating in English with the guy who took our order. The (mens?) toilets could maybe have been more nice-looking "design/style wise". When we ordered a mango shake there was a slice of a melon (I think I maybe wondered why there was a slice of a melon and not a mango) on the cup we got it served in.

Geschmacklich fand ich es ganz lecker, manchmal für indische Küche ein wenig schwach gewürzt. Der Service war freundlich und aufmerksam. Alles in allem ein schöner Abend aber nichts besonderes.

We enjoyed a lovely evening in Sadhu. The food, Wine and cocktails was great. The staff provided exellent service and the owner of the restaurant was brilliant, kind and great customer service🙏🏾 Even if we did not understand the menu because it was written in German, the staff recommended very delicious different dishes so we could try a little bit of everything 👌🏾 We highly recommend Sadhu restaurant and appreciate your services🙏🏾 We shall be back 👍🏾🇩🇰

Incredibly good food, the curries are particularly tasty, very well seasoned and really authentic! The service is extremely friendly and attentive! We can highly recommend it! It's a shame we don't live in Flensburg, it would immediately become a favorite restaurant. 😉

I have very rarely had such good food delivered. We had butter chicken, tandoori chicken, cauliflower pakoras and extra namaste naan. Everything was super tasty and the level of spiciness was well suited to the European palate :) Thank you!

Very friendly staff and great service. We ordered mango chicken and chicken tikka masala and it was delicious. We also really enjoyed the naan bread and the starters that were served with it. We also particularly liked the atmosphere - the ambience was very cozy. The restaurant is located directly on the promenade in the old town and is easily accessible.

Came without a table reservation on a Saturday evening, but still no problem. Service very friendly and attentive. We sat right at the front of the door, well there was a lot to look at but also people constantly walking past. It was a bit uneasy but we could have made a reservation. Otherwise everything was great, the food was great and plentiful. The staff was very nice and the price was also totally okay. We would like to come again.

I had the food delivered. I was very amazed at how easy it was. Delivered absolutely on time and a very nice delivery man. The food was still hot and delicious. I know all the Indian restaurants in Flensburg, but the Sadhu from the Flensburg "Kiez" stands out. 100% recommendation and it definitely won't be the last time.

Awesome authentic delicious Indian food , coming from and Indian.

The service is really very hospitable and attentive, we felt comfortable. The food was very tasty and authentic... all the ingredients tasted fresh and the menu was very well balanced with the spices. Where you would have to invest a little love is, for example, in the menu card, which unfortunately no longer looked good and one or two chairs that have seen better days... so a few little things. The restaurant is definitely worth a visit... or more often 😉

Hier verbirgt sich ein gutes indisches Restaurant. Von außen hätte ich auf ein kleines Restaurant eher im Imbiss-Stil getippt. Das Restaurant ist aber schlauchartig ausgerichtet und ist größer als erwartet. Wir wurden früh dran und wurden schnell mit leckerem Mango Lassi und tollem Essen verwöhnt. Komme gerne wieder
