Sadhu in Flensburg

Excellent food, buttery-tender lamb, superbly seasoned. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Older facilities, spotlessly clean. We felt very comfortable and finished off with a delicious cocktail outside. We'd love to come back to try more.

For an Indian restaurant, the prices, service, and variety of dishes on the menu are good. When we received the food, it was extremely expensive, and we didn't think the quality was great. This applies to both the appetizers and main courses. The service is fast and friendly. However, because the food is of mediocre quality and incredibly salty, we wouldn't recommend it. The two of us paid €60, but it wasn't worth it.

We ordered chicken biryani, but it was quite far from authentic chicken biriyani. There were no Indian spices like cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, or anything similar. It tasted more like a poorer version of fried rice. Unfortunately, it was very disappointing considering the good reviews online. The price is also higher than advertised online.

We arrived at 6:30, and our order was taken promptly. Our starters and drinks arrived within about 20 minutes, which we appreciated. However, after that, we waited nearly an hour without being served anything further. My husband had to get up to request additional drinks, as no one came to check on our table. We also noticed that staff were regularly checking in with other tables—asking if everything was okay or if they needed anything—yet our table was consistently overlooked. When we eventually asked about our mains, there was still a further delay. We raised our concerns with the manager, but disappointingly, there was no apology—just a dismissive comment that such long waits are normal. The lack of acknowledgment or concern made the experience even more frustrating

Really good Indian restaurant. Got Chicken Vindaloo (listed on the menu with 1 chili, and is not terribly spicy) and Chicken mango. Everything tasted as expected. Comes with both rice and naan bread.

We went there yesterday with two children (3 and 6 years old) to end our vacation. The food: delicious and tasty. Butter chicken, a children's korma, and a cheese dish. Some of the service staff were attentive. Unfortunately, after ordering at around 5:45 p.m., we waited a good 50 minutes for our food. The restaurant was still fairly busy at that point. No apology from the service, no confirmation that it would take longer. Almost simultaneously, the food was served to several tables, who had clearly ordered more than once. The ambiance: quite nice at first glance, but unfortunately, the table was sticky, the bench was stained, and it's best not to look too closely at the corners. Since we were just passing through, we won't be back...

A great place to eat. I was actually surprised to find such a nice place to eat in Flensburg. A real and authenic indian food for a very reasonable price. We order both vegetaranian and non veg food and both were so delicious.very polite and friendly staff. Will definitely eat there again while visiting Flensburg.

Unfortunately, I can't say much about the food. I drove there on my scooter in the rain because we had a two-for-one voucher. Unfortunately, it was rejected on the grounds that it wasn't valid outside. However, this isn't clear! And the key to the voucher booklet doesn't state this.

The food definitely deserves 5 stars!!! Truly delicious. The restaurant is bigger than it looks from the outside. It was really busy, which meant longer waits, but that didn't detract from the overall experience!

Family of 4 with different levels of dietary preferences. Friendly staff, patient with kids, beer on tap, nice portion sizes. Reasonable pricing. Not great if you have very small children or a pram to park. It's a long thin layout with steps.

We tried lunch menu (good price): Aloo gobi, mango chicken and chicken curry. Whereas Aloo gobi was great, mango chicken is not my thing, chicken curry was simply tasteless with hard chicken pieces without flavor of marinade.

Truly super authentic and delicious Indian food. Every dish on the menu sounded better than the next. We had butter chicken, cream cheese in a mango curry sauce, and tons of naan. Everything was amazing—we highly recommend it. The only minor thing we noticed was that the garlic naan had almost no garlic taste. It could have used more garlic. :)))))

A typical Indian restaurant bordering Denmark. Excellent service, very respectful and friendly to the customers. The presentation is elaborate. The sauces, which accompany the Indian bread to stave off hunger, are delicious, especially one of them, which is quite spicy. The pork in sauce was delicious. It was too windy on the terrace.

At the Indian Sadhu Restaurant, you'll find a wide selection of Indian dishes of exceptionally high quality, including appetizers and side dishes, as well as main courses and desserts. The owners put a lot of effort into the ambiance, but it's an old building with furniture that's starting to show its age. The reception and service are very friendly, courteous, and attentive. The restrooms are a bit dated, but clean. Parking is difficult. The value for money is okay.

It was our first time eating Indian food and we had absolutely no experience. So we asked for advice and were treated to a truly fantastic selection of dishes. The food was simply amazing, and the service was truly friendly. We'll definitely be back! The decor is simple but cozy and clean. The benches are a bit shallower than the comfortable chairs, but they're still good. If you want to indulge your palate, you should definitely try this place. Simply fantastic!

It was our second visit today. The food is authentic and tasteful. The discount on lunch was a bonus. I'm glad to be back.

So the last time the two of us were really caught was in Hanoi at an Indian place, which seems funny to me even as I write it. This is our first really good Indian and we get around a lot and try out a lot. No fancy, authentically good cuisine. The owner is proud of his cuisine and the craftsmanship that goes on here. There isn't much of that anymore today. Honestly delicious and affordable THANK YOU for the hospitality

Visited spontaneously and got a place. The service was very friendly and attentive. Prices are very moderate for city center conditions. 3 people each with a drink, main course and starter for all under €60 is unbeatable! And the food itself is a 10/10. Recommendation!

Sadhu is a pretty decent Indian restaurant. Seems to be North Indian but we enjoyed it and tasted similarities to the south Indian taste - the curry i ordered, which was a (spicy) Chana Masala, kind of had a taste hint mix of North Indian taste 😀

The food was very tasty but thanks for the feeling of not being worth anything, for this reason the poor people who have little withdraw and then prefer not to have a part in social life!! Than to feel even more worthless, sad......in short...here in Flensburg they say: if you have money you are something, if you don't have any you are not something, so pathetic.....never go there again....

I was there on a Monday evening and it was packed. The food was really excellent, my companion and I were more than thrilled. I had the Sadhu Thali and a naan bread filled with potatoes. I would love to come back.

We, family of 6, went to Sadhu Restaurant to celebrate a 60th bday on New Years Eve'24. Had their New Years Menú and did not regret our choice at anytime... Great atmosphere, lovely decor. Helpful, sweet waiters and the BEST indian cuisine on our plates. EVER! Just a little, not too loud Bollywood on screen...Can not recommend this place enough. 11/10 stars⭐️

The food is simply outstanding! Special recommendation for everything from the Tandori oven. Plus super delicious naan bread. The waitresses are friendly, accommodating and implement special requests with a smile. This makes you feel comfortable and, above all, welcome! The prices are fair, the quality is A1. You just go home happy! Only the guest room, which is in need of renovation, could be upgraded - but somehow that is: typically Indian 🤷‍♂️😂 We'll be back 🥳

Finally an Indian on Norderstrasse!!! Delicious and very friendly - with an extensive menu that also includes many vegan options. Our dishes were very mildly spiced, which was initially a bit unusual for us with Indian food. I think I'll try something spicy next time I visit ;-) In any case, the Sadhu is an enrichment for the “culinary city center” of Flensburg. We'll definitely be back!

The Sadhu is only recommended! I especially liked the butter chicken – simply unbeatable! The chicken breast is super tender and the creamy tomato sauce is perfectly seasoned. The staff is always friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is very cozy. I would highly recommend it if you are looking for authentic Indian food. Top shop!

Unfortunately, the restaurant left a very outdated impression. The furnishings seem unkempt and the ambience doesn't really invite you to linger. The art in the interior is quite nice, but unfortunately that can't make up for the general condition. The clean toilets and the friendly staff are positive - the service was really nice. Unfortunately, the food didn't seem fresh at all, which spoiled the enjoyment. The price-performance ratio is okay, but due to the quality and the overall impression, I would not recommend the restaurant and would not visit it again myself.

Wir waren mit Freunden zum ersten mal beim Inder und waren allesamt sehr zufrieden. Die Auswahl der Gerichte ist vielfältig aber nicht übertrieben groß. Das Restaurant war sehr voll und dennoch hat sich das Personal die Zeit genommen, uns die Gerichte zu erklären. Wie gesagt, wir waren noch nie beim Inder und hatten keine Ahung was man da so isst. Die Empfehlungen ware allesamt sehr gut und wir hatten einen schönen Abend. Gerne wieder Das Restaurant liegt in der Fußgängerzone. D.h. man kann nicht direkt vor der Haustüre parken

Very tasty food, cozy atmosphere - first class service. Absolutely clear recommendation!

You had the feeling of eating real Indian food here. It is served in bowls so perfect for sharing. It's not stylized, so it's not clogged with any kind of kitsch or authenticity. Staff is super nice and prompt. The food came as soon as it was ready and there were no long waiting times and there was always someone to talk to, even when there was a full crowd. For example, I ordered a beer and bang it was there. 30 or 40 seconds. Since I sell furniture in the dining room area, I can also say that the chairs are very comfortable. Soft but not too soft. Tables are available for all people and group sizes, i.e. solo for two or as a family/group of up to 18 people.

Would recommend the food to take away as it tastes very good, but I wasn't convinced by the ambience and service 😅

This was the best Indian food we have eaten in a long time. And we often go out for Indian food. All three dishes we ordered, including the starters, were an absolute delight, the curry had the perfect spiciness, lovingly prepared and the service was also great. We are already looking forward to our next visit to Flensburg. Then we'll definitely come back :-) Thank you very much!
