Ein unprätentiöses kleines Restaurant mit hervorragendem indischem Essen. Alles ist europäisch gewürzt, also wählen Sie „scharf“, wenn Sie es scharf mögen. Wir hatten ein köstliches Butter Chicken und ein Tikka Masala. Der Service war schnell, unkompliziert und sehr freundlich mit einer persönlichen Note.

Also zunächst das Essen war gut, aber nun kommt es... der Service war im Gegensatz zu früher schlecht. Man merkt es dem Restaurant an das es ihm nicht gut geht. Wir waren die einzigen Gäste, Kartenzahlung nicht möglich. Das wurde uns aber erst mitgeteilt als wir bezahlen wollten. Gut das ich Bargeld dabei hatte. Das zweite Getränk musste von uns aktiv gefordert werden, wie gesagt wir waren die einzigen Gäste, die Rechnung war falsch, es wurden die Getränke vergessen und dann nachberechnet, Wasserschaden an der Decke. Wir haben das Himalaya immer sehr gern besucht wenn wir in Flensburg waren, jetzt den Untergang zu sehen tut schon ein bisschen weh.

Das bestellte Essen (mittelscharf) war extrem scharf. Der indische Chai bestand im Grunde nur aus Sahne mit Zucker, fast ohne Tee und Gewürze. Am Ende teilten sie uns mit, dass sie keine Kartenzahlung akzeptieren und wir Bargeld am Geldautomaten abheben müssten. Vorher hatten sie aber noch Kartenzahlung akzeptiert.

Das Essen war super, ich hatte Marsala Tikka mit Garnelen – sehr lecker und genau die richtige Schärfe. Die Nann Brothers waren auch klasse. Kann ich wärmstens empfehlen.

Ein Erlebnis nicht von dieser Welt! Wir sind hier zum ersten mal gewesen und haben viel gelacht. Cobra Bier und Butter Chicken ist eine unschlagbare Kombination. Liebe Grüße an die Küche!

Essen war ok, hatte zwar Magenschmerzen danach aber ging klar. Das Ambiente war auf den zweiten Blick etwas Renovierungsbedürftig aber ok. Auf professionelles Erscheinungsbild, des Personals in der Küche, wird dort anscheinend nicht geachtet. Der Mitarbeiter aus der Küche, der etwas am buffet nachfüllte, sah schon ziemlich abenteuerlich aus. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Ich würde es definitiv nicht weiterempfehlen.

Ein wunderschönes Lokal mit überaus freundlichem Personal. Wir hatten ein Buffet mit einer großen Auswahl, manche Gerichte waren etwas geschmacklos, andere hingegen fantastisch. Der Raum ist lang und schmal, und man sitzt etwas eng beieinander. Wir würden auf jeden Fall gerne wiederkommen, wenn wir in Flensburg sind.

Geschmacklich war es weit entfernt von indisch, die Garnelen waren verkocht, das Tikka Masala viel zu sauer. Drei Punkte gibt es nur für den Kellner, der alleine zum Service rannte, während andere Gäste auf ihn warteten.

Tolles Essen und sehr freundlicher Service

Wir waren zum ersten Mal dort und es war ok. Das Essen war im Vergleich zu anderen indischen Restaurants durchschnittlich. Auf fast allen Gerichten waren rohe Zwiebelringe drauf, keine Ahnung ob das Garnitur sein sollte. Außerdem gab es zu zwei Gerichten einen kleinen, gemischten Salat, der aber viel zu viel Dressing hatte und auch sehr lieblos geschmeckt hat. Da muss man sagen, entweder einen raffinierten, indischen Salat dazu oder gar keinen, aber das war eher so ein Salatschälchen passend zu einem Schnitzel. Der Service war ganz nett, aber unaufmerksam. Ein Gericht wurde falsch aufgenommen und die Getränkebestellung dauerte sehr lange. Die Lokalität war ganz ok, zwischen den einzelnen Tischen standen Trennwände. Auf der einen Seite gut, da man seine Ruhe hatte, aber auf der anderen Seite auch sehr beengend. Es war ein netter Abend dort, aber mehr auch nicht.

Wir waren gestern mit 3 Personen zum 1. Mal dort und haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt! Ein super leckeres Essen, eine super nette Kellnerin und eine total liebe Chefin! Wir kannten uns nicht aus mit indischem Essen und hatten bei der Bestellung Fragen zu den Zutaten und Gerichten - alle wurden sehr nett beantwortet. Unsere Essen (Vorspeisen, Hauptgerichte und Desserts)war wirklich lecker und wir haben den Service und die Chefin als sehr herzlich wahrgenommen - es war für uns ein rundum gelungener Abend, für dessen Wiederholung wir jederzeit wieder 1,5 Std. Anfahrt mit dem Auto in Kauf nehmen werden. 👍👍👍

Echte Enttäuschung. Waren schon einige Male da, war immer gut, aber diesmal... Es dauerte ca. 1 1/4 Stunden bis das Essen kam und das war dann auch nur so einigermaßen. Fleisch teilweise etwas hart und das eine Essen hatte gar keine Schärfe obwohl mittelscharf bestellt wurde.

Das Essen und der Service waren sehr gut. Den letzten Stern gibt es leider nicht, weil es im Restaurant sehr kalt ist.

Unfortunately, there were 2 or 3 hairs in the food. You guys are really delicious, but that was bad. The food was ordered on April 9th, 2023. Maybe check with the school about that.

Very disappointing service. We reserved a table for December 13, 2025, at 6:00 PM on November 25, 2025, and received written confirmation. When we arrived at the restaurant yesterday, right on time, a staff member informed us that there was no record of our reservation. Despite the confirmation, we had to leave hungry. Absolutely incomprehensible and very frustrating. A reservation confirmation should be binding. We felt completely disregarded. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this restaurant. Luckily, we subsequently found another Indian restaurant whose team was very attentive and, despite being fully booked, found us a table. We had a truly lovely evening there.

The food was fantastic. The service was just as good, incredibly friendly and attentive. It was only a little cold because the heating wasn't working.

I visited this restaurant recently, and unfortunately, the experience wasn’t as expected. The food was just okay — some dishes were too hard and didn’t seem properly cooked or boiled. What bothered me more was the service. It didn’t feel very welcoming, and at times, I felt there was a bit of discrimination, which made the overall experience uncomfortable. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and works on improving both food quality and customer service.

They recently had a really severe cockroach infestation, so much so that a customer had to find a cockroach in the food before the health department was alerted. Sorry, but that's such a serious breach of trust for everyone who ate there. I honestly don't know how the owner can continue operating with a clear conscience??? Because HELLO??? They just kept serving food despite the infestation, even claiming they were closed for a "company holiday"! They don't care about their customers or their health at all! And here, for those who don't want to believe it, read for yourself: Just look online at the consumer protection agency.

I ate there yesterday and was absolutely thrilled! As soon as you enter the restaurant, you immediately feel at home – the ambiance is modern yet cozy. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, without being intrusive.

It was, as always, simply outstanding. We've been guests here for a good seven years, and we've never been disappointed. We still enjoy Indian food, and we'll continue to do so at the Himalayas. And as for the few negative comments: Everyone can have a bad day, and that will certainly happen again in the future. But that's just how life is, it's inevitable. 5 stars!!!

There won't be a second visit to the Himalaya for us. On August 10, 2025, we went to the vegan/vegetarian buffet. We were seated at the table for two, to the left of the entrance. We didn't receive the menu for 20 minutes. After a full 50 minutes in the restaurant, our drink order was taken. We found an insect in the rice; we think it could be some kind of bug. A picture is attached for insect experts. We reported this immediately. Due to the aforementioned criticisms, no tip was given when paying. These were explained objectively. A young server responded that we simply shouldn't have sat at this inconveniently located table. Saying this to guests who had obviously been forgotten after being seated at that exact table seemed clumsy. The reference to the insect was simply ignored. Reserved over a month in advance, confirmed by email, looked forward to the visit, arrived in the evening - closed for company holiday... Professional restaurateurs - thank you for the customer-oriented service - never again! We then had an excellent meal at the neighboring Greek restaurant...

Visited it on a weekday afternoon. Good staff and atmosphere overall. Rice and naan was well prepared and didn't took a long time to get my order. Only disappointment was artificial 'looking' and scary red - panner kadhai. It tasted okay 3.5/5 but had a lot of food coloring which in my opinion Indian food don't need.

We were there last night with five people. The final bill added 19% VAT to the prices listed on the menu, with the explanation that this was quite common practice in Flensburg! Is this true?

We went for their lunch deal, Had butter chicken and palak vegetarian Coke + fanta for 26.80€ The food was really tastefull, you can choose from different spice levels, and there was to much for us to eat so we asked for the rest as take away, they even gave us extra rice for the take away for free

Yesterday, hunger (with our seven boys on leave and a child in tow) led us to a young, courageous, and extraordinary woman. At 26 years old, as a young mother and managing director, the owner of the Himalaya welcomed us with charm and warmth, passion, and dedication. The meal was a dream from the Arabian Nights. The young team (despite a full house and understaffing due to illness) worked hand in hand, always friendly and welcoming. An EXTRAORDINARY atmosphere that deeply impressed us! Hats off! To this woman (a true role model!) and to the entire catering team (and greetings to Lake Constance ;))

The vegetarian Thali was fantastic, the service was friendly and the terrace was sheltered from the wind.

Vi spiste aftensmad på Himalaya Restaurant og havde en fremragende oplevelse. Vi bestilte chicken tandoori serveret på en varm sten, ledsaget af en frisk salat med yoghurtdressing og et lækkert garlic naan-brød. Maden var særdeles velsmagende – kyllingen var perfekt marineret, mør og fuld af smag. Præsentationen på den varme sten, med hvidkålsblade som underlag, var både indbydende og gennemført. Vores tjener, Manu, leverede en fantastisk service. Hun var imødekommende, venlig og opmærksom, hvilket gjorde besøget endnu mere behageligt. Vi kan varmt anbefale Himalaya Restaurant og ser frem til at komme igen. Tak for en dejlig aften!

We spontaneously ate here last night and had quickly ordered a table by phone. The ambience seemed simple. The service was friendly and reserved. The drinks were served quickly. The food took a long time to arrive, but then it came sizzling hot and served on the hot stone. Unfortunately, my food was only lukewarm despite the hot stone and so my dish went straight back to the kitchen to come back to me hot after quite some time. The food was tasty, the vegetables were raw and not steamed, but relatively oily. The salad and garlic naan bread were delicious. The price-performance level was appropriate. A little goodie would have been nice for the inconvenience of eating. Overall, we can recommend this restaurant.

Super cute interior, very unassuming, a bit cramped, yet extremely cozy. It was our first time eating Indian food, and we'd love to go back. The food was very good, and the prices were very reasonable. I can recommend it without hesitation!

A really wonderful restaurant. The food is amazing, can control the spiciness of every dish, as well as choose the combination of dish and meat. Finally a place where garlic naan tastes like garlic (apparently it's a lot to ask for in other restaurants).

This is by far the tastiest Indian food I have ever eaten! I am a regular customer here and I experience top quality every time. Sometimes the waiting times are long when the restaurant is full, but I understand that. The employees are very hard working. The interior isn't really my taste but that doesn't detract from the whole thing.

Always happy, there are no stops when it comes to special requests. Addendum September 5th, 2020: It's always nice to dine in the Himalaya's premises, but Corona hasn't always made this easy, but the friendly and committed Himalaya team leaves nothing out to make the customer happy. I can recommend it to everyone without any ifs and buts. Addendum July 28, 2022 Today the weather was great again and we were able to eat our food on the terrace. Incredibly nice, authentic operators here! Level of spiciness 3 “Hot” is not completely Europeanized, but is clearly spicy. Good this way! Appetizer platter also recommended! Overall we really liked it! A tip for almost dessert is the mango lassi!

Very good restaurant! Highly recommended, in summer there is a terrace at the back, in winter you can sit in the front. The waitress had many good recommendations for the starter and the main course... There were three of us there and we received a starter combo (all cross-border). That was very tasty. Then the main course Teriyaki with 3 types of meat (for everyone, so everyone could try everything). Also great!!! I recommend Mango Lassie with dinner or as dessert

Relatively small restaurant, very nice service. The food can be ordered in four levels of spiciness, with "spicy" being considered European hot. In contrast to many other Indian restaurants, the toilets are also neat and clean.

We came here once before, last year the food was flavourful and the owner was friendly. We visited them again yesterday, 3 November. I had made a reservation and we arrived in the restaurant 18.15. The waitress did not even give us our menus until we asked after waiting 30 minutes. We ordered 2 starters and one main dish to share. Our food was served 20.45!!!!! My husband even went up and asked what was happening and why our food was taking so long. We didn’t even get our starters🤯 The only response he got was “it’s coming now” We waited another 5 min and at this point we where ready to leave the restaurant when the main dish finally arrived… we asked the young waitress where our starters where and why they where not served she did not have a proper answer. Right after that the older waitress came with our starters. We sat in the restaurant for 1,5 hours hungry until we finally where served our food. The starters where tasty but our main was bland and did not taste of anything. It’s the same dish I ordered last time, that was full of flavour…. Overall a very disappointing experience as we spoke so highly of this place last time. Waiting 1,5 hours to be served food is unacceptable. No apology, nothing. We ate our food and left after 20 min as we where so disappointed. We will not come back here again unfortunately.

So long story short. Be sure to go there, you won't be disappointed. We ate there for the first time today and absolutely loved it. Damn delicious food, very friendly and nice service. We didn't have to wait long for the food either. In short, we felt very comfortable there and can absolutely recommend this restaurant.

The food was great, but you could perhaps ask for a drink earlier. The spiciness was adapted to European standards, so a slight spiciness was good. We will be happy to come back.

A wonderful Indian restaurant in the middle of Flensburg. The menu is full of delicious Indian dishes, whether with different types of meat or vegetarian. The service was super nice and helpful. I've been going there for years. During the last 2 Corona years, more to take away, which was wonderfully regulated - even at lunch. Great portion, ready just in time for only 7 euros. Maybe a little more expensive now - like everything - but every bite is worth the money! 👍😉 You can easily determine the level of spiciness of the dishes yourself: 'mild, slightly spicy, spicy, and very spicy'. Went there again in the evening yesterday and enjoyed a delicious tandoori chicken. Of course, with mango lassi on the side - super delicious - I ordered it 'slightly spicy' - I was careful because I haven't been there for a while, but it was very pleasantly seasoned... next time it would be spicy again 😉😁👌 The portions were large, which is why we couldn't finish everything have. But it's no problem: hey presto, the rest is well packaged to take away. Even at home the day later, the food still tastes very tasty when warm! I also think that it is very popular there if you ask 'to take away' if you have a large leftover on your plate. Because it is food, in the worst case, former farm animals, which is then thrown away and causes starvation in other parts of the world. Sometimes your eyes are bigger than your mouth 😉 A spontaneous evening reserved 1 hour in advance - no problem, despite the almost full house we still got a table 👍 Many thanks to the entire Himalaya team for your commitment!
