Everything was excellent from start to finish. Everything is also easily accessible with a walker. The wellness and spa facilities are top-notch. The staff is exceptionally friendly, attentive, and helpful. The cuisine is outstanding. Most other hotels could learn a thing or two from this one.

During our stay, we had a duvet with a hole, and the spa was out of order on Sunday—unacceptable for a 4-star hotel. Upon payment, to our great surprise, we were charged for the four gourmet menus supposedly included in the online package, as well as the four half-board meals we didn't eat that evening. NO TRANSPARENCY IN THE BILLING: THIEVES! WE PAID €600 MORE than our online booking. Book elsewhere...

What a beautiful wellness hotel! I gave my husband two nights for his birthday, and what can I say except wow! We had such a wonderful stay, great service, amazing food, and a special birthday menu in the gourmet restaurant. The spa area was a dream – something for everyone. Highly recommended! ❤️

We had a lovely weekend at Hotel Sackmann. The staff was very attentive, the food was good, and the spa area was very nice. We were completely satisfied.

Our third stay at Sackmann was just as delightful as the previous ones. The room was very spacious and spotlessly clean, with amenities and thoughtful touches that met all our needs. We were able to enjoy the entire spa and pool area in the basement and the incredible infinity pool on the top floor! A truly relaxing and rejuvenating experience. The breakfast was simply amazing, a real treat. We will, of course, return with great pleasure.

My girlfriend and I stayed with our dog. As dog owners, we were put in the old wing; the rooms were ancient, lights and bulbs were broken, etc. It's understandable that dog owners don't get the newest rooms. However, charging the same price as for modernized rooms is, in my opinion, unacceptable. The food is excellent. However, I would recommend not providing an email address, as you receive newsletters at irregular intervals that you can't unsubscribe from despite repeated requests. All in all, there are more recommendable hotels; we certainly won't be coming back!

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights in a self-catering room, and everything was perfect! We've been coming here for several years, and we were upgraded this time. Breakfast and dinner were simply wonderful, lunch was simple and good, and the wellness area is really great! The spa and pools were impeccable. One small drawback was the gym, where four machines weren't plugged in and were therefore more or less unusable. The staff is very friendly and always attentive. We will definitely return and recommend the hotel 200%! There isn't much to do in the immediate vicinity, but we were looking for peace and quiet. There are many hiking trails nearby. Furthermore, for stays of two nights or more, the hotel offers a free HochSchwarzwald Card, which gives you access to over 80 free activities (really fun activities like archery, mini-golf, etc.). Not normal! Insane! The name Sackmann, known beyond the borders of the Black Forest, lived up to every expectation. My wife, of course, blamed me for the "muscle growth on my hips." I'll survive.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone for such value! We stayed there for 4 nights. The following points bothered us a lot: - My wife's massage appointment was missed and started 30 minutes late without any notice. Then we had another massage because the lady doesn't know chakra. - Poor service in the restaurant; plates, among other things, weren't served but "handed over." On top of that, there were long waits for drinks despite sufficient staff. - Extreme noise above and below our room. - Redeeming the €100 voucher (newsletter) is a disgrace. You can't redeem the voucher when booking. We forgot to mention this upon departure and only remembered it on our way home. After calling, the hotel told us that this was "our bad luck" and we couldn't get the €100 back. A subsequent booking or refund would also be possible. - Drink cups in the swimming pool were empty several times and weren't refilled. - The whirlpool was cold, and the indoor pool was also freezing cold. - We specifically booked the "mountain view," which is more expensive. One thing to note: a railway line has been relocated here, so you're looking directly at the tracks. The trains run until 10:00 PM and start again at 6:00 AM. All in all, compared to other 4-star hotels and considering the exorbitant price, this was unfortunately a miserable stay.

The room was dated. Dinner was chaotic and uncoordinated. There wasn't a buffet at all; we were served tiny portions. No information about the food was provided. Staff were unfriendly at times. The location was merely okay. I wouldn't come back here. The price/performance ratio wasn't right.

We recently stayed with the Sackmann family for 10 days and give the entire property 4 stars. Arrival and check-in went smoothly. The reception staff impressed us with their friendly demeanor right from the start. We were greeted with a glass of sparkling wine, and after settling into our rather old-fashioned room, we headed straight to the infinity pool. It impresses with a truly clean relaxation area and breathtaking views of the valley. There's also a very spacious relaxation room and a relaxing sauna area. If you need a little wellness on less pleasant days, you can indulge yourself in the in-house spa area. In addition to the indoor pool and whirlpool, you'll find numerous massage treatments on request. We were absolutely thrilled with the food on offer. The full-board option includes a generous breakfast and lunch buffet, and a dinner menu with a small selection of several courses. All in all, we will definitely book a room again for the 100th anniversary celebration in 2027.

A very nice hotel in an ideal location and a fantastic view. A top-notch wellness area that leaves nothing to be desired, a delicious dinner, and a varied breakfast buffet. Unfortunately, the staff seemed overwhelmed, insecure, or helpless in every interaction. Simple questions, such as booking the pampering package, had to be addressed to three different employees, and it still didn't work. In the evening, no one was informed, and communication regarding questions about the menu and options was also lacking. Unfortunately, no questions about the products could be answered at the cheese buffet or lunch. Overall, no one seemed well-informed, courteous, or confident. A real shame for such a beautiful hotel.

Although we had requested a free table for our group very late and arrived late at the restaurant, we received extremely courteous service. We immediately felt welcomed. The food was also very delicious. Before we arrived, we received a welcome greeting from the kitchen. We highly recommend this restaurant.

I was at the Hotel Sackmann from September 1st to 3rd for my 70th birthday. Thank you again for your upgrade to a very nice room, your warm congratulations from all the staff, and a beautifully set table with a bottle of sparkling wine. The hotel is a dream for me, from the entrance to the relaxation areas and dining rooms, perfect interior design, lots of glass, mirrors, high ceilings, beautiful decor, soft background music. Everything was very clean and well-maintained. Now to the staff: everyone at reception was welcoming, without exception, very friendly, very attentive, always smiling. The food was simply amazing, and at breakfast they also offered unusual items, like fresh ginger root, honeycomb for scraping honey, all kinds of fruit, so a large selection... The wellness area was simply fantastic. Where else can you find an infinity pool, relaxation rooms, saunas, loungers, and double loungers on the roof? And downstairs, it continues with a Jacuzzi, a large pool, lounge areas, a fitness room, etc. I can only rate the Hotel Sackmann with all 5 stars; in my opinion, that's not enough. Thank you for the lovely stay, I will be back!!!!

We booked the stay as a gift for our parents. The rooms are very nice and elegantly furnished. Unfortunately, the train passes right by the room every hour. There's a busy road on the other side. We weren't aware of this when booking. We received a very friendly welcome, and in the evening in the lovely Murg's Stube, Carlos took excellent care of us. The food was excellent. On the second day, the service on the terrace was unfortunately not up to scratch. The Italian waiter walked past us at least four times with his head bowed, even though only three other tables were occupied. We only wanted a glass of wine. When I called out, "Excuse me, could we please order something?", he mimicked me: "Sorry, I have to do something else." Even the couple at the other table shook their heads in disbelief. The gourmet restaurant Schlossberg was delicious and the service good. However, we were increasingly bothered by the long pauses between courses. Since everyone likes things differently, we told the waiter and unfortunately waited another half hour for dessert. It was too long for us to sit and eat from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Here, you could simply ask the guest if they could move on more quickly. I've seen it like that at other Michelin-starred restaurants. Before breakfast, I wanted to settle the bill, and the lady at the reception was alone and quite overwhelmed. On top of that, there were language difficulties. The voucher I wanted to redeem was apparently made out to someone else. After half an hour, I was finally able to pay. All in all, it was a nice stay, but the price/performance ratio wasn't right. In this league, at least the staff who work with guests should be highly trained. Finally, I would like to positively mention the wellness area on the roof terrace, which is truly beautiful! Great view and very cozy.

A weekend full of enjoyment and relaxation The sun on your face, nature right outside your door, culinary highlights that make every heart beat faster – and absolute moments of well-being in the wellness area. At the Hotel Sackmann, every moment truly becomes something special: from the attentive service to the excellent food to the perfect atmosphere for switching off. Just the little break that body and soul needed – with lots of enjoyment. We were particularly impressed by the wellness and spa areas: On the roof, there's an infinity pool and a sauna with a stunning view. On the ground floor, there's also a swimming pool, whirlpool, and cozy relaxation areas. Those who wish can even treat themselves to a massage, for a fee. Fresh fruit, water, and tea are available free of charge throughout the day – a very nice gesture. Our stay was a complete success. The room was very large, spacious, and clean – we immediately felt at home. Breakfast left nothing to be desired: a wide selection, everything fresh and plentiful, and the freshly prepared omelet with lots of delicious ingredients was a particular highlight. Dinner was also a true delight—culinary delights of the highest caliber. We'd also like to highlight the service: super friendly, attentive, and always courteous. We felt in excellent hands and would gladly return.

Guests with pets should avoid this establishment. Previously, it was very pet-friendly, but this image has completely changed; a real shame. No dogs in the restaurant is absolutely fine; but banning them from the bar area is incomprehensible. This is therefore our last time here.

We had to wait a bit to check in. According to the reception staff, the hotel wasn't fully booked, and we received a free upgrade to a renovated suite. The room was very nice, tastefully furnished, and inviting. The bathroom was large, bright, and spacious. A sofa bed was made up. However, please make sure to inform the cleaning staff beforehand that everything needs cleaning. The location of the hotel isn't great. You need a car for excursions or you have to take public transport. Tickets for public transport are free. Admission to the garden show was also included. That was great! The sauna in the basement was not at the right temperature. Much too cold. The sauna up on the roof terrace was perfect on the second day. However, these areas weren't tidied either. The glasses outside on the terrace and the cups inside were left there the whole time. There was no cleaning. The guests' used beach towels were lying around on all the loungers. Please put up a sign for guests asking them to put them away themselves. Breakfast was good, not outstanding, but satisfactory. Dinner was truly excellent. A nice, small, and varied menu. The same goes for the wines. But here, too, the attentiveness of the staff left a lot to be desired. Our waiter tried to be friendly. However, this meant he had to take time for the guests. I was able to order a white wine for myself as an aperitif, but he didn't even look at my husband. As soon as I placed my order, he ran off. The waiter didn't listen, let alone take the time to take the order for four people. For dessert, there was only one menu for four people. After a few minutes, he came back and wanted to take our order. I complained that we hadn't been able to share the menu yet. We ordered two iced coffees. He ran away, came back, and told us it wasn't possible anymore. We were so disappointed that he ran back to the kitchen, came back, and suddenly, it worked! I'm really a bit disappointed with this hotel. However, I must honestly admit that I've read so many reviews, and it's clear to me that there are some shortcomings in management here. If guests are already providing feedback, then something really needs to change quickly. And noticeably.

The Genusshotel Sackmann is very modern and tastefully decorated. The Sky Infinity Pool and sauna area are absolutely wonderful. The service is very attentive and creates a very pleasant and harmonious atmosphere. The absolute highlight was dinner at the Schlossberg Restaurant. All in all, a wonderful and wonderful vacation – guaranteed to repeat.

We had an all-around wonderful stay at the Sackmann Genusshotel in Baiersbronn. The staff was consistently extremely friendly and accommodating, making our stay a truly enjoyable one. The food was an absolute highlight—super delicious and varied. I was particularly pleased by the warm welcome for my birthday: a small gift from the hotel team, something I've never experienced before. A truly wonderful gesture that made the stay even more special. We have absolutely no complaints and would love to come back.

We got married this week – unfortunately, this information was ignored when booking. The new hotel wing is well-designed and attractive, but we deliberately chose a room in the rustic Black Forest style. It's showing its age, but somehow charming – two allergy tablets made it manageable. The food is outstanding, everything is just right here – you're happy to pay for it. Mr. Rieger in the restaurant was great, but the rest of the staff often seemed untrained or unsympathetic. Mirko at the bar didn't know what carrot cake was and seemed rather curt and uncharming. We had to advise him on which cake was which. Labeling the cakes would have helped... The pool, our dream destination, was too cold, the sauna was only 47 degrees Celsius. The spa reception was never staffed, and the downstairs area feels old and unloved. Little things add up: no water in the room (standard even in cheaper hotels) —> €13 for tap water, no bathrobes upon arrival, resulting in a 30-minute wait. Even details like framed pictures that look like they were printed by hand detract from the impression. Bottom line: The food is great, but the overall value for money isn't right. For less money, the shortcomings would be forgivable, but at this level, they're disappointing.

A beautiful wellness hotel in the Black Forest! The rooftop terrace with its infinity pool and stunning views is a highlight in good weather, and when it rains, the large indoor wellness area with pools and saunas offers perfect relaxation. The waiter on the terrace on Sunday afternoon was unfortunately a huge disappointment. He was very unfriendly and slow, didn't understand much, brought the wrong drink, didn't replace it, promised on his own initiative that he wouldn't charge for it, and then charged me anyway.

Soundproofing is not soundproofing. The hotel manager was completely unaccommodating and unfriendly.

We spent a weekend at the Genusshotel Sackmann. The food and service were excellent. The spa area was very nice, both indoors and outdoors. We definitely recommend it.

We had a wonderful stay. The spa area is magnificent. The services are of high quality. The only regret is that the staff wasn't better supervised, which would have avoided some disappointing dinners. Furthermore, it's not normal for dogs to be allowed in such a high-quality hotel, especially in the restaurant.

The Panorama Hut is very nice. If you have difficulty walking, the hotel offers a shuttle.

Considerably overpriced compared to other 4-star S hotels

The hotel is beautifully located and has a fantastic wellness area with pools. Unfortunately, we had a less than ideal check-in. It was bumpy and confusing. Mr. Sackmann took us over at short notice, and we felt very well looked after. He was very friendly and helpful. In the end, we lacked information about what to do in the hotel and the surrounding area. Unfortunately, the room didn't offer the right value for money. We stayed in the "old building." The food, however, was very good and highly recommended. The service was attentive, but they had to ask a lot of questions and sometimes didn't return the answer. Perhaps we were just there at the wrong time.

We ate at the Murg's Tube. The food was okay, but nothing special. The portions were minimal. Service was slow. It wasn't impressive.

We booked the cheapest category, which Secret Escape said was a room IN the hotel. To avoid paying the hotel fee and to also confirm a room for the same price, we booked directly with the hotel. But this room is in a vacation apartment a 6-minute walk from the hotel. We complained and, after waiting forever, were given a room in the hotel; otherwise, we would have left. Very clean, new bathroom, but so dated and dark...horrible!!! What made this place EVERYTHING better was the very friendly, mostly Asian staff. They were SUPER attentive, courteous, and quick :-)

It was a wonderful short break at the Sackmann wellness hotel with my husband and parents-in-law. From breakfast until late in the evening, nothing was left to be desired. We had a charming room with a wonderful ambience and a seating area where you can read and relax. As for the food, one can only say that the pampering pension deserves more than 5 stars; nothing was left to be desired. I do have one more request: it was very impressive how friendly and attentive the service was. We felt well looked after from start to finish and surrounded by very attentive, friendly service staff who left no wish unfulfilled. We will be back. The spa area is fantastic and also very easy to use for people with disabilities.

Unfortunately, I have to deduct two stars and adjust the review I wrote. I'm still impressed by the kitchen and its flexibility. And generally, by the service as well. However, either due to language difficulties or the staff's ignorance, despite repeatedly informing me about my existing allergies, I was served a dish in which the allergens had been processed. Only by knowing what the dish would look like without the allergens was I able to intervene. The statement from this same staff member that this can happen was very concerning. Such a statement is unacceptable! I personally wrote to the hotel about this incident, but I never received a response. If you have food allergies, you unfortunately MUST be extremely careful and ask whether these allergies are truly not present in the dish. Or only place your order with staff who speak German. I can't comment on the rooms, as I've never stayed at the hotel. But I'm thrilled with the food in the restaurants. The kitchen also takes food allergies into account, adapting the dishes so that I have a very good selection. This is also the case with the menu at the Schlossberg Restaurant. The house greeting is always delicious, even adapted/modified to my allergies. I also find it very positive that Mr. Sackmann greets guests when it comes to the kitchen. The service staff are also very nice and friendly, although I have to agree with some reviewers that, especially if you have food allergies, it makes me feel uneasy when I can't be sure that I've been understood due to the service staff's language difficulties.

Very nice, well-equipped room, although a hand basin in the restroom would have been useful. The service was very good for the first few days, but after that, we sometimes had to wait a long time for the next course of the menu. The salad buffet lacked variety, and several salads were mixed, which shouldn't be the case at a buffet, as if you don't like an ingredient, the selection is further limited. The spa area is very attractively designed, both inside and out. The location, between the road, the Murg River, and the railway line, is not ideal, but this isn't a problem, as the windows are very well-insulated.

I bought and gave away a Day SPA voucher for 2 people in November 2023. The voucher cost a total of €140 and is ONLY valid for 2 years. It was redeemed a few days ago. Unfortunately, the whirlpool and salt sauna were closed that day. The recipients also had to pay a surcharge of €20 at check-out because they had since decided to increase the price from €70 per person to €80! So this morning I called the hotel and asked, and they told me several times in a very cold tone, "The management decided that." To charge the recipients a surcharge on site for a voucher that is only valid for 2 years anyway is beyond outrageous. You definitely don't have to rely on "Day SPA vacationers" here. Conclusion: once and never again. There are much better Day SPA offers.

An absolutely wonderful stay! The Hotel Sackmann offers a spacious wellness area with a pool, several saunas, and a professional spa team. My room was modern, extremely clean, and very quiet—ideal for relaxation. The breakfast buffet was varied, fresh, and left nothing to be desired. A particularly positive aspect: the friendly, attentive staff—always with a smile. I will definitely be back. I highly recommend you visit them sometime.

Great hotel, very good breakfast with lots of delicious options, especially regional dishes. The spa is highly recommended; we really enjoyed the indoor pool, and the panoramic sauna downstairs with a view of the river is truly an experience. The most relaxing, however, is the wellness area with an outdoor pool and sauna on the roof terrace. The food is highly recommended, and a cocktail at the bar in the evening rounds off the overall experience for us. 100% relaxation factor, 100% repeat factor. We also found the hiking options around the hotel to be very good and varied, both for couch potatoes and more experienced hikers.

We booked four nights, and on the first day, when we returned to our room at 6:30 p.m. after a full-day trip, everything was still there, just as we'd left it at 9:30 a.m.! There was no room service all day, and when we asked, the answer was that there was no room service at that time! And I'm paying over €300 a night for that. I'm very disappointed!

First time at the Hotel Sackmann for a wellness break. 3 nights with pampering board. CHARMING room was clean, unfortunately facing the main road. Carpeting and curtains were showing their age. Shower uncomfortable in the tub. Mattress very good, but the room was very warm and with the window open, extremely noisy, making sleeping without earplugs impossible. The spa/wellness/fitness facilities are modern and well-maintained; we thoroughly enjoyed them. The food was delicious, and the service staff friendly, hard-working, and courteous. The latter made us reconcile with the room. We'll be back, in a different room.

We didn't like Mr. Sackmann yelling at his staff in front of the customers; that was uncalled for. Special thanks to the head sommelier, Daniel Dinev, who provided excellent service!

I stayed at the Hotel Sackmann with my best friend for two nights – and it was by far the best wellness vacation we've ever had. And we've had quite a few. As soon as we entered, we were greeted by a pleasant, aromatic scent that immediately created a feel-good atmosphere. The welcome was warm – including a glass of sparkling wine – and the entire staff was extremely friendly and attentive. Our requests and questions were always taken care of – even if we were a bit particular at times 😅 Our room was not only very clean and comfortable, but also offered plenty of storage space – which was super practical for us women. The daily housekeeping was reliable and loving – fresh towels, emptied trash, a made bed, and everything else was meticulously cleaned. The breakfast buffet was fantastic! It's particularly worth mentioning that they also offered vegan, gluten-free, and lactose-free products. This shows how well individual needs are catered for. The dinner was also excellent – ​​high quality, lovingly prepared, and delicious. We were thoroughly pampered with culinary delights. The bar was very stylish, cozy, and perfect for a relaxing end to the evening. The spa area was beautiful, modern, and never crowded. It had everything you need to relax. The pool with its panoramic view on the terrace was, of course, a dream – perfect for beautiful photos 😊 We were also thrilled with the hotel's location: quiet, but ideal for excursions. A ticket for outdoor activities was even included in the price. And for us, as animal lovers, it was especially nice that dogs are allowed in the hotel. Thank you so much for everything! Arriving on a Saturday at 3 p.m., we received a welcome drink and were given access to our suite. Spacious, clean room, certainly a room for people with reduced mobility, but everything was there. Perhaps the room was missing air conditioning, which would have been a plus as the window overlooked the busy road. We enjoyed the very pleasant outdoor pool and lounged on deckchairs. We decided to take advantage of the indoor area located on level -1, and what a disappointment! Of the four saunas, only one worked, the other three didn't... We reported it, as did others before us, but we never had the opportunity to use it again. Awesome breakfast, everything you could need, good quality, and unlimited. In conclusion, disappointed by the price and the fact that we weren't able to enjoy all the amenities of the wellness area. A gesture from them would have been appreciated.

Mixed Welcomed with a welcome drink, we quickly checked into our room. Spacious, clean room with all amenities. I personally missed the air conditioning. Outdoor pool on the top floor, quite nice! We took the opportunity to relax on the deckchairs. We decided to take advantage of the wellness area on level -1 and were disappointed 😞 because of the four saunas available, only one was working. We reported this to reception, as did others before us. Magnificent breakfast, a wide selection of both savory and sweet options, beautifully presented and of high quality. Very friendly reception staff. I regret the fact that they told me I could use the sauna on the top floor, which was working, knowing that I was paying for a certain service, and I wasn't able to take advantage of it. It's a shame that something wasn't included in the room rate... It makes me hesitate to come back another time.

We had the great pleasure of spending a long weekend at the Hotel Sackmann in the Black Forest – and it was simply perfect from start to finish. We received a warm welcome upon arrival and immediately felt welcome. The entire team is extremely attentive, professional, and yet pleasantly unobtrusive – service at an absolutely top level. The wellness area is a true highlight: modern, spacious, and designed with great attention to detail. Particularly noteworthy are the various saunas, the panoramic outdoor pool with a view of nature, and the stylish relaxation areas. Here, you can truly unwind and recharge your batteries. The Michelin-starred cuisine of Jörg Sackmann and his team is also an absolute experience. Each course was a culinary work of art – creative, sophisticated, and perfectly coordinated. The breakfast and dinner buffets in the gourmet restaurant also left nothing to be desired: regional products, freshly prepared, and of the highest quality. The rooms are tastefully furnished, very clean, and offer a stunning view of the surrounding nature. The combination of Black Forest charm and modern design creates a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. Overall, our stay was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. If you're looking for luxury, relaxation, and top-notch cuisine amidst beautiful nature, the Hotel Sackmann is the perfect place for you. Definitely not as expected based on the photos. We were booked for 2 nights but left after only one. The non-refurbished rooms are in desperate need of an upgrade - including the bathrooms and bedding. Spa area not luxurious and the hot tub was cold, with the bubbles only working for 30 seconds every 10 minutes. Our evening meal was good but lunch was miserable, not worth €32 per person. Overall not up to the standard expected.

This review refers to the Sparlbrunch at the end of May. A good and tasty selection, generally attractively presented, except for the salads and the large and varied platter of fish and sushi. The room itself seemed very cold and provisionally used. The service was friendly but not very welcoming; there was no sense of welcome. Unlike the kitchen staff, guests felt comfortable and welcome. When paying, we found that cappuccino, latte macchiato, and water were charged extra on our bill, even though the menu listed them as included and there was no information about any extra costs. Unfortunately, there was no welcome prosecco at the Genusshotel Sackmann, as is usual with comparable offers. A response to an email with feedback on the brunch took almost two weeks; there is potential for improvement here. The decor throughout the restaurant and entrance area is very well-designed, combining tradition with modern elements in a pleasant and cozy way.

A definite recommendation for a day at the day spa. Beautiful wellness area, landscape, infinity pool, and saunas. Lunch is also delicious. Very courteous and helpful staff!

Quietly located, upscale hotel, ideally located if you enjoy hiking. Staff friendly at all times. We booked a deluxe double room. Tastefully furnished, spacious, with a loggia. You can definitely feel at home here. We sorely missed a coffee maker in the room. I really would have expected one at this price range. A higher-quality hairdryer would also have been welcome. With two women, it's quite tiring when the hairdryer overheats after just five minutes. But that was all. Whether it was the lunch buffet or the served menu in the evening, everything was truly excellent. The cheese buffet after dinner was a highlight. The breakfast buffet also left nothing to be desired. The infinity pool, the indoor pool, and the sauna were all very beautiful and well-maintained. We felt very comfortable and can recommend the hotel with a clear conscience.

This hotel is a true dream in the heart of the Black Forest. We received a very friendly welcome, and the room was very clean and modern. The service in the restaurant and bar was outstanding. We've never been treated so lovingly in a hotel before. The food was fantastic, with something for everyone, and we were overjoyed. The wellness area and the rooftop terrace with pool were very modern and comfortable. We will definitely return to this fantastic hotel.

A wonderfully relaxing stay with my partner for 5 days in the pleasure hotel. There was a large, high-quality selection both in terms of cuisine and in the spa area. There are no defects that we noticed during our vacation in the hotel and we can only recommend it! Perfect for switching off and taking some time out to relax. We look forward to our next stay!

Our room in the old building was far too expensive for what was offered. The room is more like 3 stars and that was 30 years ago. Booked a double room, prepared a single room, i.e. 1 set of towels, 1 bathrobe, and only received another shower towel upon request.

Never again – misleading pictures, dusty rooms and cheeky comments! The pictures on Booking.com look like they are from a completely different hotel – high gloss, modern, clean. The reality? Dusty, old and absolutely disappointing. I have a dust allergy and the room was so poorly cleaned that I could hardly breathe. When I complained, I was not given the room I had booked - instead I was fobbed off with “that's just the room today”. The cherry on top: When checking in, the employee actually asked me if I had “just rented my car for the weekend” - no, the car was bought - thanks for asking! It couldn't be more rude or unprofessional. This hotel was a failure in every way. I travel a lot, but I haven't seen something like this in a long time. No recommendation.

Dear Hotel Sackmann. I have NEVER had a bad recession written and generally never had to complain but this time I HAVE to write these lines. My husband and I booked one night with you for 644 euros including feel-good board. We have only heard good things about your hotel and once we didn't go to our favorite hotel we wanted to try you but it was a complete disappointment! When we arrived it was so packed and the hotel was so overbooked that we had no relaxation at all, not even when we arrived. When we arrived in the room, everything was fine, our suite was nice and we were very happy. When we arrived in the wellness area there wasn't a single lounger available, we couldn't find any space at all, we were told that you weren't allowed to smoke anywhere, after all there are smoking areas after all, we were just sent around, the swimming pool and the relaxation rooms were so extremely overcrowded, it felt like being in an indoor swimming pool for 10 euros. After about an hour of looking around and walking around (because we were sent from one place to another) when we arrived in the hotel room we just wanted to leave because we no longer felt comfortable at all. We called to see if we could serve and find a solution (we would also be willing to pay half the price if we canceled) then they ordered us down from the room and then told us that they wanted 100% of the costs to be covered in the event of cancellation and didn't offer us a solution (so you can't tell on the phone?) - so we walked around again! Ultimately we felt forced to spend the night there, no accommodation, nothing at all. (We weren't looking to get anything at all, we just wanted to get out of the crowd and finally relax) It's certainly more crowded at Easter but I've never experienced anything like that in any wellness hotel. In addition, we didn't feel like we were being taken seriously at all; we felt like we were the problem. Her only alternative was to book a private relaxation room for extra money. Never again.

Yes, with a newly decorated room. The price was too high for us personally. We received the booking offer with luxury board, but it is also only available with breakfast. The luxury board includes breakfast, lunch and dinner. We didn't go out to eat at lunch because everything was too much for us. Instead we drank coffee and ordered cake. We found out when we left that it was chargeable. This is ridiculous “pamper board”.

I strongly advise against it: absolutely poor value for money and not suitable for families. Let's forget about the refusal to reschedule the reservation even though I was unwell... €600 per night with 2 children, but you have to go out to go to the restaurant because the hotel restaurant isn't suitable, no high chair, the next morning at breakfast, again, no high chair... no water in the room, and they have nothing to heat up meals or baby bottles (they gave me the bottle again after boiling the water!) And you have a view of a railway and wake up at midnight and 5 a.m. by the train! I don't even understand the star rating! Even the food isn't up to scratch (everything is very salty...) In short, spend your money on a hotel that's worth it ;)

Hotel located on the edge of the forest in a peaceful location. The places are welcoming, combining modernism and wood. Several car parks linked to the hotel allow all guests to park. We opted for a full-board overnight stay (dinner, breakfast and lunch the next day). Clean room, very well soundproofed with real comfort. Spa area located in the basement (swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna), spa also located on the roof top with heated outdoor swimming pool, sauna, relaxation room with sofa.... Many relaxation areas are located on the outdoor roof terrace offering a peaceful view. Quality food. Very welcoming and professional staff. Highly recommended.

Hotel to switch off and enjoy Last weekend we were guests at the Romantikhotel Sackmann. When we arrived we were warmly welcomed and immediately felt the warmth and family atmosphere. The SPA area is a dream that leaves nothing to be desired. On the first evening we were treated to the Murgstube, the hotel's a la carte restaurant. I have rarely had a more tender veal steak, and the combination of local forest mushrooms and wild herbs was a culinary highlight. The attentive and friendly service rounded off the evening to an overall experience. The friendly staff at breakfast the next morning also shined with the splendor and variety of the market buffet. Fresh fried eggs and omelettes prepared by the chef himself, large cinema. After a hike in the magnificent Black Forest nature, we enjoyed local delicacies in the idyllic panoramic hut of the family hotel. On the second evening, the candlelight dinner in the in-house guest area, which was included in the pampering board package, surpassed everything. A 6-course menu is served with gentle piano music, with prime rib of pasture-raised beef as the main course, and a selection of cheese from the board, arranged with great care. Fresh, modern service, great praise, can only be recommended.

Romanticism@Sackmann We were guests for the third time in a row. We can therefore say that the level has been completely maintained over three years. The suites in the new building have always been clean and inviting. The cuisine and service are consistently fantastic. The wellness area is well maintained and invites you to relax. The whole atmosphere is just great. We'd love to come back. Keep it up.

During our five-day stay at the Hotel Sackmann with family and friends, we not only had pleasant experiences. The food was solidly prepared, the cakes were above average. However, the service sometimes left a lot to be desired. For example, for a birthday party in the evening, we ordered an ice cream bomb according to the special wishes of the person celebrating her birthday. The prospect of implementing the wishes was initially hesitant. However, in the evening an unimaginative, run-of-the-mill creation was served with no connection to the order. Our criticism only caused a shrug of the shoulders from the service. During the few days in Sackmann's house, the lock in one of our rooms was broken three times, so that the room was unlocked and one of us had to guard it for hours at a time. There was no discount whatsoever upon departure due to the inconvenience. We kindly wished to speak to the boss. This was not possible for 35 minutes. Our conclusion: Sackmann, no thanks!

We had 2 wonderful days, especially the dinner (6-course menu as part of the luxury board) was fantastic! The breakfast buffet was also one of the best we've had so far. Service excellent in the evenings and for breakfast. Minor flaws in the room and in the wellness area. But that was made up for by the many other positive impressions.

We celebrated our dream wedding here in 2024 with 17 people: from the first contact, to the planning with the hotel team, to the creation of a menu according to our taste with Mr. Sackmann himself, to the comprehensive service during our three-day stay, we were completely thrilled. This year we were able to continue this feeling seamlessly and spent our first wedding anniversary in a relaxed atmosphere: always new evening menus, delicious drinks at the bar and a large wellness area make us long for the next wedding anniversary. We are particularly impressed by Mr. Sackmann's tireless efforts: in the morning at breakfast he prepares omelettes, at the lunch buffet he goes around the restaurant and in the evening again at the bar.

Disappointing stay - unfortunately not what we expected We had booked a weekend at the Hotel Sackmann through TUI and assumed we would be accommodated in a building next to the hotel. Unfortunately, it turned out on site that our apartment was far away from the hotel - separated by a river, a train line and a parking lot. The apartment was by no means at the level of a 4 star hotel. Overall, it was carelessly furnished, if anything had the standard of a simple holiday apartment), the toilet flush was broken, the WiFi only partially worked and there was an unpleasant smell throughout the building. All in all, a big disappointment, as we had expected a pleasant weekend in a four-star hotel. The misleading marketing of the apartments via the hotel website is particularly problematic. The representation suggests a direct connection to the hotel, which does not correspond to reality. The apartments neither match the high standards of the hotel nor the expected target group. The service also left a lot to be desired. At check-in we received no information or a friendly greeting. The route to the apartment was unclear and we had to find it ourselves using Google Maps. During our stay, we felt like we were treated as second class guests on several occasions - be it at check-in, at meal time or at check-out, where we were not treated with the hospitality we would expect. The hotel responded to our criticism with regret, but took little responsibility. The blame was placed primarily on TUI, even though the hotel itself advertises the apartments on its own website. A positive highlight is the hotel's beautiful wellness area, which at least partially saved our stay. Nevertheless, the disappointment prevails - we were looking forward to a nice weekend, but were disappointed by the misleading presentation of the accommodation, its careless furnishings and the inadequate service. Unfortunately not recommended for this price and the high expectations that the hotel arouses.

The wellness area is very nice and the infusions in the sauna are excellent. Signs for guests to place towels in the sauna would be helpful. Everyone does what they want. Unfortunately, one day there were no cups in the upper wellness area and there was no cleaning. Beds unfortunately uncomfortable. The room and bathroom, however, are very spacious and beautifully designed. The staff at reception (older women) and in service (unfortunately everyone here) are very unfriendly, everyone is very confused and seems annoyed. Price performance throughout Solala.

I spent a couple of nights in the hotel and I have to say I'm thrilled. Such nice staff, always courteous and polite. The massage with Adam was also really great and I can only highly recommend the hotel! The wellness area is so beautifully designed and simply an oasis of well-being ❤️ I'll be back.
