Rüan-Thai in Berlin

We spontaneously stopped by on Saturday evening without a reservation and still got a table. The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. We highly recommend it!

The stuffed chicken wings are divine, and like the equally excellent filled dumplings, they're homemade. You can taste the love for the ingredients. Some dishes might be a bit sweet for German palates, but they're very authentic. Good Thai restaurants have become rare, and this is one of them.

Unfortunately, my email went unanswered. After eating, we vomited and had diarrhea! This started just 30 minutes later, while still in the restaurant. The food should be checked for freshness! We will not eat there again. 31.10.25 I have now received a response from the restaurant. They have asked me to delete my review by 01.11.2025 at 12:00 PM, otherwise I will face legal action.

We spontaneously stopped in for lunch yesterday and were bitterly disappointed. We were there last year and everything was great! Yesterday's food was terrible: dried-out decorations, the rice in the appetizer was already dried on the sides, probably from the day before, and the meat was tasteless, as was the shrimp filling in the other appetizer. The main courses were also a complete disappointment, with a 5 on the taste scale. Price-performance ratio was abysmal.

2021: Small but perfectly formed. Visually, it's relatively simple, but the food is fantastic! From homemade lemonade to delicious cocktails, they have everything. Typical Thai dishes—all delicious! Always happy to come back! Finding a parking space is always a challenge (but normal in this area). When the weather is warm, you can sit outside. Update 2025: Still just as delicious! Unfortunately, cash payments are only accepted. Reservations recommended.

Warmth is truly important here! We came here for the first time this weekend with friends and a small child. Because it was a spontaneous get-together, we didn't make a reservation, but we still managed to get a seat. They communicated that the table would probably have to be rebooked after about 1-1.5 hours because it was reserved – and then we could decide for ourselves whether that was enough time. We stayed, and it was the best decision. First of all, the hostess was super warm, especially to the little one. She was also attentive. She immediately brought a high chair, made sure the stroller wasn't in the way and wouldn't get lost, and first of all, brought a glass of water for the little one, as it was a really warm day. You could tell a story about all the dishes; many of the dishes seemed to be prepared according to family recipes (e.g., dumplings made according to Grandma's recipe). With completely attentive and courteous service, who even shared a few stories about the food, dining out turned into a real experience. We really enjoyed it. Since I was so excited about the meal, I only photographed the appetizer. The dumplings are the best I've ever eaten, and I love dumplings, which is why I've tried so many different ones. We'd definitely love to come back!

A true ray of hope in Berlin! We were fortunate enough to spontaneously visit Rüan Thai – without a reservation, with four adults and two small children. Even though the restaurant was fully booked, we received a warm welcome and were still offered a seat in a small corner. This friendly welcome alone was exceptional and made us feel that hospitality is truly lived here. From the first moment to the farewell, our visit was a complete success: The starters were delicious and prepared with love, the main courses a true taste experience – fresh, authentic, and perfectly seasoned. The children also felt at home, which is something you don't always get when visiting with family. A huge compliment to the entire team – both the service and the kitchen. We have rarely felt so welcome in Berlin. Rüan Thai is not only a culinary highlight, but also a humane experience. We will definitely be back!

Great Thai restaurant with very authentic cuisine. Tom Yam Gai with coriander, galangal, and lemongrass – simply delicious! Above all, they don't skimp on the ingredients. And the coriander has a more intense flavor than what you can buy in the supermarket. That's what distinguishes the quality of this restaurant.

Here you will receive personal service and advice from the boss. The atmosphere is very pleasant. Small tables, tasteful Thai decorative elements. Cutlery and plates were specially made for Rüan-Thai. It's the little details that make a visit to a restaurant special. There were extra vegan options for me. Instead of fish sauce, you can switch to light soy sauce, for example. We were explained how the Thais use their cutlery (this is different from European usage), and we were advised how to use the additional homemade hot sauces. I ordered my food medium hot. I love eating spicy food. It was too mild for me, but the delicious hot sauces regulated that wonderfully. We will definitely be back very soon, because my companion was also very satisfied and really enjoyed the food, service and ambience.

Good Thai cuisine in Tegel and has been for many years! It's always worth taking a look at the daily/weekly menu. The service was super friendly, helpful and very attentive. It's great to sit outside, but inside I find it a little "dusty". You should usually make a reservation as the store is always very busy. The price-performance ratio is right for me.

Es macht einmal Spaß ein Restaurant positiv zu bewerten. Hier stimmte alles. Die Bedienungs Chef ? waren alle sehr freundlich, schon beim Versuch einen Tisch zu reservieren nur freundliche Worte. Das Essen war rundum sehr gut, keine Fertigware, zumindest hatten wir den Eindruck. Die Dim Sums waren sehr schmackhaft, die selbstgemachte Sauce auch. Weitere Bällchen waren auch gut. Die Hauptgerichte Ente kross mit einer besonderen Sauce ungewöhnlich gut, alles passte. Die Preise des guten Weines sehr freundlich.

I've been coming here for over 10 years and have never left disappointed. The owners and employees are super nice, the food is always delicious and you can also taste that it is fresh. I will come back here again and again in the future. My favorite dishes are either sweet and sour duck or chicken. Plus a butterfly pea tea (warm or cold depending on the season).

People usually always say that everything tastes better in Thailand, and soups in particular are so much more aromatic. HERE it was COMPLETELY different! SURPRISINGLY, THE BEEF SOUP WAS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO TASTY THAT IT EXCEEDED EVEN THOSE IN THAILAND! One starter on the menu was actually really unique! (Stuffed chicken wings) The restaurant owner or waitress who served us was so nice that we even exchanged contact details. Every guest is warmly welcomed and said goodbye personally. Really friendly! So cute! And again: the food was SO DELICIOUS! 10/10! Family business with only super nice people! 😍🥰 In short: great! THE BEST OF THE BEST! (at least the beef supoe [better than in Thailand!]) EVERYTHING delicious, but especially the soup is an absolute insider tip and an absolute must-try! The Thai market is nothing compared to that! It's unbelievable that you can find better soup in Germany than in Thailand! 😋😋😋😍☺️

Family owned for 21 years and always consistently good. With many exceptional family recipes straight from Thailand. And the new young generation is very friendly to all guests. I wanted to bring back some holiday memories and since I always ate massamann curry for the most part in Thailand, I wanted to try this one back home. Well, for my own taste it could have been a little more peanut-heavy. But otherwise it was very tasty! The staff is incredibly nice and accommodating without question. I will definitely come again.

Like 20 years ago, yes, that's what it looks like here - uncomfortable, dark, shabby - the good times are over - the food meets mediocre standards, is more reminiscent of Chinese glutamate creations - unfortunately no fresh preparation - only cash payment (no credit cards) is absolutely out - a shame

Besonders entgegenkommendes und freundliches Personal: Wir waren als Touristen in Berlin, waren lange unterwegs und konnten den vereinbarten Termin nicht halten. Das Personal hat sich größte Mühe gegeben und es geschafft, unsere Reservierung umzulegen - trotz voller Auslastung der Plätze. Dazu war das Essen absolut hervorragend und schnell serviert. Höchstes Lob an das ganze Team!

You have to get used to the fact that the restaurant has existed for at least 30 years (formerly Badensche Strasse Schöneberg) but it has become very bad. A particularly rude service didn't make the very strange dish any better. The atmosphere is like a train station. I am a Thai food lover and have been to over 00 restaurants in Berlin over the last few years (of which 50% are no longer available). Anyone who saw the film Anna and... Anyone who has ever seen the King or The King and I knows the arrogance of this Thai people. Please don't lose face. They say Thailand is the land of smiles but you forget whoever smiles also shows their teeth. I had a company in Thailand and was punished for it. My managing director, a Thai woman, said to me: Klaus, don't trust anyone Thai. I've been to Thailand over 40 times. Many of my acquaintances married a Thai woman. But few have had a long marriage. This restaurant is not necessarily recommended

What stands out the most is that you get served really fresh vegetables. All veggie and vegan dishes taste very good. The special tea creations are delicious, too.

Mit Abstand mein Lieblingsrestaurant in Tegel. Während der Pandemie haben wir oft zum abholen bestellt und es war immer, wirklich immer, lecker und frisch. Seit nun mehr als 5 Jahren gehe ich gerne ins Restaurant oder hole Essen von denen ab. Für mich eine klare Empfehlung. Super guter Service, mega leckeres Essen und der Inhaber ist so herzlich und dankbar für jeden Besuch oder jede Bestellung. Danke! :)

The cutest and coziest lunch ever

Vorab: Freundliche Bedienung und telefonische Bestellannahme sehr nett. Leider: Das Mitnahmegericht für 11 Euro gibt es bei jedem Straßen-Thai, wenn man das so formulieren darf, für sechs Euro, maximal. Nicht viel Geschmack, ein paar kleine Erdnusstreusel und am Ende ein Warenwert von 1,80 Euro. Gemüse? Fehlanzeige. Traurig. Man kann und sollte mehr erwarten. Mitnahmegericht 2 für 13,50 (auf der Karte N7) kam mit einer Gallert-artigen Flüssigkeit, vier Stück undefinierbares Meeresgetier in Würfelform und einem Hauch von Gemüse. Peinlich. Ja. Nach den letzten beiden Jahren Einnahmeeinbußen habe ich für vieles Verständnis. Und natürlich muss alles in Relation gesehen werden. Aber so etwas geht, gerade heutzutage, bei dem vielfältigen Angebot, nicht. Ggf scheint das Essen im Laden besser und in Verhältnismäßigkeit zu stehen. Kommt auf einen Versuch an.
