Super tasty but super long wait to eat! You wait an hour for main dishes, and sometimes something gets forgotten and mixed up. So definitely bring a lot of time and patience. Still very tasty and authentic!

I have been to Larb Koi for 5 times now and was one of the first customers when they opened in 2021. Great food, probably the most authentic Thai restaurant in Berlin. However I won’t be (able to) going back because I’ve been trying to get a reservation but the response has been nothing but frustration. I tried to call 2 weeks ago for a booking (as calling always worked), the lady at the phone was unable to understand English and kept requesting me to write. But when I wrote through Google and Instagram, the messages got left ‘Read’ and no response. It’s a shame because Larb Koi always has a special place in my heart when I celebrate something important. I would suggest the owner to look into solving this problem as they grow, as I’m definitely not the first nor the last upset ex-loyal customer.

Love this place. Sometimes it's hard to get a reservation but that's ok. The chef always lets me know what is gluten free and the food is excellent. If you like spice, actual spice, this place is incredible.

This is my favourite restaurant in Berlin. The service is great, and the food tastes exactly the same as in Thailand. We tried laab gai, papaya salad, aubergines, and fish curry, and they were all absolutely delicious. I would say the laab and som tam were slightly better than what I had in Thailand. We also tried the sticky mango rice (it was nice but not my favourite dessert).

3.5 stars. 💫 What should be highlighted is the friendly service (although they only speak English). Unfortunately, the dish I wanted to order wasn't immediately available even though the shop had just opened. The alternative was still very, very tasty. The spiciness of the dish is really fun. Unfortunately, two people can't get enough for €50. A sharing menu is just one portion for one person.

Only 1 vegetarian option- stir fried morning Glory (basically fried spinach) for 15€. And it wasn't even good. Sticky rice 3.90€ as a side dish. Very strong smell of fried meat. Definitely a restaurant only for meat eaters. If your friend suggests it and you don't eat meat - run for your life.

Very good Thai cuisine with interesting variations. The spiciness is strong, but it doesn't overwhelm the variety of spices. Friendly and attentive staff. Price-performance ratio okay.

The food is solid. Not the best Thai I've ever eaten but still okay for the slightly higher price. Service was okay, even if the greeting was "Two hours!" gave. It's a bit unfortunate that it took about 70 minutes until the first meal was on the table. Even when we slowly came to the end of our meal after about an hour and a half, the service became nervous again and tried to get rid of us (at least politely this time). The ambience is okay, maybe it was in the corner where we were sitting but it was incredibly loud so it wasn't possible to have a comfortable conversation....

arrogant and distanced atmosphere. It doesn't fit to this neighbourhood in Friedrichshain at all. Me and several friends of mine tried the place bc it sounded different at first, but we were faced with cold atmosphere and interior much too bright and uncomfortable, unkind employees and a ridiculous time limit on the table we had although the place was not full while we were there. Good customer service is sadly as important as the food with such a big choice around this area. Wouldn't recommend it at all, there are much better and nicer places around, where they know how to cook and treat the customer nicely at the same time. Ps: I have also read the other 1 star ratings for the place and the place answers all of them in a threatening way, pretending they are all false. I doubt so many clients can have the same points of criticism for a small place like that but ok. :) Apparently someone cannot take criticism.

Culinary exceptionally good! The cooking here is done with an incredible amount of love and authenticity. It makes sense to reserve as it is often full to capacity. Price/performance ratio has rarely been so good in Berlin!

Very impossible staff! We weren't allowed to order anything just because we didn't reserve a table, even though we only wanted to order drinks to go. The lady with the glasses who was in charge outside took the menu from under my grandmother's nose and said thank you very much. Very cheeky

Absolutely excellent home style food! 🤩Everything was very tasty and this is easily one of the best Thai places I’ve eaten at in Germany. The ambience of the restaurant is modest and prices are on the higher side but the chicken mince and southern beef curry entrees were both excellent. The sticky rice in the sticky rice + mango dessert was equally good. 🤪 The owner even came to check on how our food was and told us about how the food was homestyle and from recipes of his grandma — which was rather sweet. My only issue with my whole meal experience here was not related to food. The owner spoke with us for about 12-15 mins and kept addressing/speaking to my guy friend and wouldn’t address or look at me at all while speaking. It may have not been intentional, but it’s really offensive that I was blocked out or not spoken to even when I was complimenting the restaurant and food. I know this is a cultural commonplace in some parts of Asia (to speak to the ‘men’ at the table) but I hope the owner can take this feedback and be conscious of this the next time he’s speaking with customers, that also include women 🙂

Insanely authentic and delicious!!

The oysters were delicious, the octopus was a bit too spicy. . The minced beef tastes good, and the salad tastes good too!

Unapologetically authentic Thai restaurant that serves proper spicy levels and umami flavours. The menu even comes with a spice warning and the kitchen wont compromise their food for your intolerance to spice. I LOVE that they don't ask you 'how spicy do you want your food'. Nada. Just authentic, spicy, flavourful and fresh Thai food. Small place, prior reservation would be recommended. It is Cash only. The prices are super reasonable for both the food and drinks. Expect a time limit on your table since it is a small place so they do need to rotate the tables for service. But it's fine since the service is efficient and you won't feel rushed to finish your food.

Particularly delicious, spicy, flavourful and also healthy looking food. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. Take a reservation if possible since the space is limited. I strongly recommend the place if you love spicy food!

I've been going to Larb Koi for years and just realised I've never actually left a review for them. It's one of my absolute favourite restaurants and never disappoints. The food is always impeccably prepared and the service is excellent. The drinks selection (especially the wine available) is also great. Take a group of friends, order everything, you won't regret it.

Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Abend in diesem Lokal, kleine Karte (einen Stern Abzug, da es keinerlei vegetarische Gerichte gibt, auf Nachfrage habe ich mein Essen ohne Garnelen bekommen), sehr schmackhaft und nicht mit einer Thai Imbissbude zu vergleichen, Portionen sind ok, preislich ein wenig ambitioniert aber dafür bekommt man auch sehr gute Qualität geboten. Super freundlicher Service. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

The food itself is authentic and tasty but overly spicy and the kitchen does not adjust the level of spiciness of the dishes for the guests. The ambience is simple with less tasteful furnishings. It also gets extremely loud when the restaurant is full.

Visiting Larb Koi was a long time coming. All of my Thai friends have been recommending it and I’m glad I finally got to try. The food overall was so so so good. It was the real Thai home cooking but more refined. Here were what I had: 🦪 Oysters with Thai seafood sauce - these hit the right spot! Oysters were fresh and sweet paired with spicy and sour seafood sauce - match made in heaven. 🐔 Kua Kling aka southern style dry-fried curry with chicken. The curry paste was sooo fragrant and the heat level was nice. I secretly hoped to cry from the spiciness but I didn’t so I wish it was even spicier 🔥🌶🔥 🐟 Salmon salad with fermented fish sauce - fresh salmon with spicy funky umami sauce, what’s not to love? 🍖 Braised pork ribs - the meat was soft and falling of the bone. The sauce was garlicky and peppery. These honestly tasted so nostalgic, just like what I grew up eating. The drinks and dessert aren’t to be overlooked. Order the classic Thai tea or if you feel risqué enough, order their house-made moonshine 😉 The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant isn’t big so better make a reservation ahead of time especially on weekends. The price here is on a pricy side but it was worth every cent. Highly highly recommended!

Einer der besten thailändischen Restaurants in Berlin. Ich war schon mehr mals dort. Der kross gebackene Fisch ist mein absoluter Favorit sowie die Austern. Man sollte unbedingt reservieren. Das Restaurant ist recht klein und hat nur bedingt Kapazitäten. Außerdem ist es immer gut besucht. Preis-Leistung ist top.

Jewel in Berlin food scene. For the longest time, Berlin asian cuisine consist of watered down pan asian imbis and restaurants with identical menu. Things have changed, at least for thai cuisine, one of them new jewels is Larb Koi. I pretty much love everything the chef makes, but i mainly go here for high quality thai seafood. Fried sea bass with southern thai curry, thai raw salmon salad, oyster with nam jin sauce perfectly accompanied with the best stir fried morning glory and thai iced tea in the city. They also perfected typical thai dish like beef curry and pad krapao. Don’t get too stuck up about not being able to order the octopus if it’s your first time there, I haven’t even tried it and I don’t feel like I’m missing out. Real thai flavors cooked with quality ingredients, that’s the highlight here.

Incredible! I can’t believe you can get food like this in Berlin. Genuinely extremely spicy, and would rates up there with the best restaurants I’ve been to in Thailand. Very daring to serve food like this in a place notorious for not tolerating spicy. Be sure to have the fried whole fish.

Brutal gut, authentisch, gemütlich. Selten so lecker Thai gegessen. Das Ambiente ist nett, der Eigentümer und Service äußerst freundlich und das Essen eine glatte 10/10. Schärfe sollte man vertragen, aber dann wird man hier richtig glücklich. Werde bei jedem Berlin Besuch wiederkommen.

My favorite food place in Berlin, by far. It’s just too good. I think about eating larb koi so often and it’s just the best food ever. Everything is very authentic and everything on the menu is superb. Best thai food hands down in Berlin. I can’t get enough, if I lived closer I would come every week.

Authentic oryginal thai cuisine and atmosphere!!!

Some of the best Thai food we've ever had! Mum and I followed a recommendation from our hotel to try Larb Koi as it was walking distance and -6 outside! We didn't think we were particularly hungry going into it having done a food tour earlier that day, but the food was so light, fresh, spicy and delicious we ending up finishing 3 excellent dishes. It was a busy Saturday night but the team were attentive and extremely helpful selecting dishes and drinks - we had seats at the bar so could watch everything unfold in the kitchen too. The dishes were authentically spicy (which we were advised about on arrival) and we raved so much about the bamboo shoots dish to the owner he kindly packaged us up some home-made paste for us to take with us so we could try and recreate at home. Cannot recommend highly enough, lots of fun and unapologetically authentic!

Wir waren erst skeptisch, haben einen langen Weg auf uns genommen und wurden nicht enttäuscht! Wir waren schon oft in Thailand und essen dort immer richtig gut. Das Essen im Larb Koi war wirklich das Beste, was wir bisher in Berlin gegessen haben......und wir haben auch schon richtig gut gegessen. Der Service war toll und der Chef hat uns, weil wir eigentlich nochmal umbestellen wollten aber das leider zu spät war, das Gericht, was wir gerne gehabt hätten auf Kosten des Hauses serviert. Es war mega!!!!! Essen wie in Thailand?? Dann im Larb Koi. Danke!

Best Thai restaurant in Berlin, best Asian restaurant in Berlin. Without a doubt. Food was impeccable, service was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the owner was awesome!!! We had a cool chat with him! I can't actually deal with the fact that I didn't know this restaurant existed before? Make sure you order the fried bass fish. That was to die for. Overall knowing that this restaurant exists makes everything else in Berlin look bad, LOL.

As soon we walked in the kind staff gently informed us that it will be spicy. I kind of didn’t take the reminder seriously because quite frankly I’ve been to Berlin Asian restaurants and it’s never THAT spicy. Highly recommend the stir fry Mushrooms and Seabass curry with Lots of iced Lemongrass drink. Trust me you will need it with the explosion of Spice that envelops your mouth. I also recommend sticky rice to pair with the fish curry because it just eases the spiciness. I would say 10/10 for authenticity but it is extremely spicy and I wouldn’t recommend it if you can’t handle Spice. The staff were Amazingly detailed and really valued Feedback I was surprised by this and greatly appreciated the fact they asked if we we enjoyed the food. Also, they do warn customers ahead of time on the spiciness level. I find this also quite attentive. ***not suitable for vegan/vegetarian

每道都很道地很好吃，泰奶不僅味道道地還調整過甜度，完全不會過甜，可以喝到紅茶的味道，如果能再大杯一點會更好 第一次去的客人無法點辣章魚，因為怕太辣了接受不了，所以老闆建議我們點魚咖喱，如果辣度可以接受，下次就能點辣章魚，果然魚咖喱的辣度就很足了 生蠔很新鮮，調味剛剛好，豐富了味道但依然能吃到生蠔的鮮甜味

Sehr authentisches Restaurant mit entsprechendem Ambiente. Obwohl das Restaurant am Abend sehr voll war, bekamen wir noch einen Tisch. Der Service war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Wir wurden gut beraten auch zu den Schaerfegraden. Der frittierte Wolfsbarsch und die Austern sind besonders hervorzuheben. Die Soßen waren einfach nur grandios und der Fisch auf dem Punkt. Alles frisch, so schmeckt Thailand. Sehr empfehlenswert!

Impressive food, best Thai food around!

There was a worm on the shelf of oyster. It was moving, it really traumatised us. We told the waitress she said she didn’t see anything until I use phone flashlight, we all witness the worm was moving. Larb Koi didn’t say anything about it just say that would get a new one for us, but it feels very uncomfortable to have a new oyster After you witness an alive creature that feels not so hygiene, so we cancel the dish. The rest of the food was good for European standard but slightly small portion. When we pay the bill the restaurant didn’t say anything further, it’s not about money, it’s the attitude from the restaurant. Manager or chief didn’t even come to us to show some care and respect , therefore, 1 star. The restaurant has Michelin sticker but I don’t recommend for the seafood as the quality control is not qualify from my experience.

Food was pricy considering the quality of the dishes. Almost 20€ for a Tofu Curry? That‘s a bad joke… Out of 8 or 9 meals, one is vegetarian, rice as well.

Incredible, authentic and correctly spicy. A meal that has you hydrated in endorphins as all Thai food should. Honestly some of the most satisfying food I've had in Berlin. But yeah if you aren't used to heat you may struggle here, there is the pork belly that is pretty great but no holds bared on the spice

Food is good (very spicy) but they have a very small / specific menu and it is very expensive for the size of food (15-22€). We had 2 thai iced teas, and 3 dishes and it was 70€. They really need to accept card. Cash only.

Absolutely amazing! It was the second time to visit this Thai Home Cooking Restaurant. The food has an unbelievable range of taste, and all dishes we had were different but great in each and every way. Yes, it is rather spicy, but if you enjoy it, you will love it. The staff is super friendly and attentive, and the chef personally comes to check on his guests. Reservation is recommended... usually busy, even on weekdays!

My friend and I had dinner here a couple days ago and food, service, and atmosphere were great - I have no idea where the bad reviews are coming from. No, we couldn’t order the octopus curry as it was our first time there, but I get that because not everyone can appreciate that level of spiciness, so it’s better to try something else first. We got oysters, the fish curry (Thai spice level 🌶️), and the morning glory, all so flavorful and mouth watering. We got two more oysters as a “dessert” because of how delicious they were. The staff offered us two shots and we had a lovely chat with Monay, the chef, who told us about the place, how their food is prepared, and offered us two more shots 😄 We can’t wait to go back and try the rest of the menu!

I dont really know why this place got a michelin star and I am not sure for what dish specifically or just in general. What I can say is that it is by no means reasonable because the restaurant is under average at best. I know other Thais in Berlin such as Preeda, Chong Thong, Good Times, etc. that are way better and for more affordable prices. The dishes are absolutely nothing special given the fact that they are more expensive. In fact, some of the dishes are even bad and tasteless. The “pandan” tea for 5 euros was an absolute joke for that it was just boiled water with frozen pandan leaves cut in, the thai tea consisted of 70 percent ice. The same bad cost-quality trade-off is the same with the dishes. Its also good to note that the dishes come with no rice and you have to pay 4-5 euros extra for a small portion of rice - guess they tryn to make money out of their “michelin star”. What is the tip of the iceberg is the fact that they dont even accept card and only accept cash. The owner also seems to be in bad mood all the time and behaves like this towards his employees and even customers cannot expect a welcome smile. So in conclusion, it was good to have tested it so we know that it was our last time at this under mediocre restaurant.

Ate with friends. Staff said OUR RULES and reviews say same but where are these so called ‘RULES’ for people to see. Its a scam. Food is southern thai but not the spiciest. I hated the staff telling me what i cannot have due to their rules. It is Germany not the thai republic of larb koi. If you don’t want people eating take it off the menu. Let is decide if it is too spicy then we ask you for advice. Lime not water. And i expect venom from your staff whom you need to train in actually reading the reviews properly and taking them on board for improvement not sprouting rudeness in a response but don’t worry i wont come back. I lived in Thailand 10 years never ever experienced such arrogance as this hole of a restaurant. The chef has baggage from another restaurant in Berlin where he was dismissed for his rude behaviour and now he brought it here to larb koi. After tourists are finished locals won’t support this rudeness at these prices. Better friendlier thai restaurants in the locality people

I love how the restaurant wouldn’t compromise the spiciness! Service staffs are friendly and smiley! We felt welcomed and loved the atmosphere in the restaurant. Plus the super yummy food. We really enjoyed our night! Thank you.

Do not let you order the octopus. They said order something and if you eat that we give you octopus. Then after we ordered a dish, ate it, they said next time. Real thai spicy but nonsense you cannot get what you want. Sea bass with southern curry was really good. Southern beef was good. After we were denied the octopus, we ordered the grilled short rib and it was borderline rotten.

Our experience at Larb Koi was incredibly disappointing. The staff's behavior was shockingly rude when we attempted to order a specific dish, thanks to their bewildering "rule" that reserves certain items exclusively for non-first time diners. This arbitrary policy not only confused us but also completely ruined what should have been an enjoyable night. In addition, the chef kept saying or asking people “spicy yes? “ but I have eaten super spicy and I can attest that they have spicy food but I have eaten 10 times spicier in Thailand and I should be the person to decide what I can eat and not some waiter who doesn’t know me telling me what I can eat because of their rules which I still cannot see on google their menu or in their restaurant. A totally overrated expensive experience. To make matters worse, their response to negative Google reviews was dripping with condescension and arrogance. They defended their discourteous treatment by suggesting it's the "Thai way," which is a gross misrepresentation of the warm and welcoming hospitality I've experienced during my time in Thailand. Having lived in Thailand, I can affirm that Larb Koi's treatment of customers is a far cry from the genuine Thai hospitality that makes visitors feel appreciated and valued. It might be wise for the owner to take a trip back to Thailand to reacquaint themselves with the true essence of Thai customer service. In the meantime, I won't be returning to Larb Koi.

Hands down the best thai food experience Ive ever had outside of Thailand... and maybe even inside of Thailand. It's rather pricey - but you pay for very good quality ingredients!

Super unfreundlich, teilweise arrogante Mitarbeiter/Inhaber, Essen in Ordnung aber gerade in Berlin gibt es massig Konkurrenz bei dem alles stimmt. Also Leute, Lasst euch nicht den Abend vermiesen und sucht euch in der Nähe was besseres aus

This restaurant is my favourite restaurant in Berlin. Not only is it the best Thai food in Berlin, it’s the best service. Monay who is the owner and head chef offers nothing short of the finest hospitality someone could ask for in visiting a restaurant. On multiple occasions I have taken friends and family there and he and his team have gone over and above to fulfil their promise of a delicious and memorable evening. Anyone that jumps on here and leaves a bad review because you didn’t get the octopus is sadly missing the best part about this restaurant and then throwing a tantrum on Google because they didn’t get their own way. They should learn that while the octopus is amazing, it’s far from the best part of this gem of place 💎

This is long due! I have been many times to Larb Koi and every time it has been on point. I am on vacation and planning my next dinner there, so i checked their Instagram as well. Then I see this bad review of a customer and felt the need to let the world know how ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ this place is.

👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎 My visit to this restaurant was an awful experience from start to finish. I had been eagerly anticipating trying their Thai cuisine, especially since I love spicy food. However, my excitement was completely shattered by the disrespectful staff and their arbitrary rules. I had made a reservation for 9 pm the day before, and when we arrived, the waitress, a short girl with brown hair and eyeglasses, welcomed us with rudeness. She immediately informed me that I couldn’t order the food I wanted, claiming it was against their rules for first-time customers because it was too spicy. This was both bizarre and disappointing, as I was eager to try their spicier dishes. What’s particularly frustrating is that no one had informed me of these restrictions when I made the reservation or before we were seated. It would have been much more appropriate if they had communicated these rules in advance to avoid wasting our time. Beyond this, I later learned that the restaurant also practices discrimination, denying entry to some based on their appearance. This kind of selective behavior is unacceptable and makes the establishment seem unwelcoming and elitist. In the end, my evening was ruined by the disrespectful staff and their arbitrary rules. I chose to leave the restaurant without dining there and am grateful that I didn’t waste my money on a place with such an unpleasant atmosphere. Thai culture is known for its warmth and hospitality, but unfortunately, this restaurant falls short of those standards.👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎

Eine kleine Speisekarte, dafür aber tolle Gerichte. Der Service ist sehr aufmerksam, hilft bei der Auswahl, erklärt die Gerichte und weist auch auf die Schärfegrade hin. Beim nächsten Mal, muss ich die Austern probieren. Wer hier hin will, sollte auf jeden Fall einen Tisch reservieren.

분위기 서비스 음식 모든게 만족된 식당입니다.. 베를린에 몇 없는 정말 완벽한 식당 중 하나 입니다!! 또 가고싶네요 ㅎㅎ 특히 오랜만에 먹은 신선한 생굴은 저를 또 한 감동받게 합니다.. 너무 신선하고 맛있었어요.
