The service is excellent, the waitresses very friendly. We didn't have a reservation, but we were lucky enough to be able to eat at the bar. Very tasty and unique Thai food. The papaya salad is very good, and we were particularly impressed by the Duck Hanglay Curry. Crispy duck skin, delicious curry. The Pad Krapao was a bit too spicy for my taste, but we were warned.

The food was delicious; I especially enjoyed the oysters and red wine! The Thai tea was also very good. Only the beef curry didn't quite convince us for the price.

Really good food and truly well-thought-out dishes. The oysters and sea bass are highly recommended. But beware, the dishes are all quite a bit spicier than the average German is used to. So, you'll need to have a bit of tolerance for spice. They tell you this right from the start, though, and I thought it was great to finally get truly spicy dishes, the way they should be. Also, the staff is extremely friendly and attentive. I'd be happy to come back.

I love Asian cuisine – especially Thai – and through my many travels in the region, I've developed a good sense of what truly authentic Thai cuisine is. For me, Larb Koi is in a league of its own: honest, uncompromisingly authentic Thai cuisine at the absolute highest level. Here, you can taste passion, experience, and a true understanding of flavors. The menu is pleasantly small – a good sign of quality. Each dish has its own character; nothing seems interchangeable. The spiciness is as it should be: bold, honest, intense – not watered down for European tastes. But that's exactly what makes the difference. Anyone who comes to Larb Koi should know what they're getting into. My absolute favorite dish is the Southern Beef Chili Curry – incredibly complex, robust, and aromatic. The octopus is, for me, the masterpiece of the menu: tender, perfectly cooked, in a spicy, intense sauce that's truly fiery. Your stomach needs to be prepared 😉. The chicken larb and the tuna tataki were also great during my visit – fresh, spicy, with plenty of herbs, and that typical "kick" that characterizes good Thai cuisine. Two small points to note: Unfortunately, card payments aren't accepted, which is a bit inconvenient given the somewhat higher prices. And the place is quite small – the tables are close together, which sometimes leads to quite a lively background noise. Nevertheless, for me, Larb Koi is a place where taste, authenticity, and atmosphere come together perfectly. If you love real Thai food, you can't miss it. 🌶️🐟🦪🍚🇹🇭

I ordered the fried fish with Larb Koi sauce – it was very juicy and perfectly cooked, not dry at all. The spiciness was just right for me, as I usually prefer medium spice. The dish came with rice and fresh vegetables, which complemented it nicely. For dessert, I had mango sticky rice, which was a great way to finish the meal. I really recommend this place if you enjoy authentic Thai flavors and well-balanced dishes.

Better than Thai Michelin starred food in NYC. Seriously a hidden gem. If you can't handle spice or are vegan, don't bother!

The food was super tasty and the right amount of spicy! Unfortunately the options for vegetarians are very few and not as tasty as the others, seems like an afterthought somehow on the menu. One thing I would criticise is that it doesn't seem to be well ventilated during winter, because the smell of fish is very strong.

mai chop som tam was worst one of my life, the ingredients were not fresh at all and the tomatoes tasted nasty fish was good larb gai was SO spicy it was actually unbearable to eat not worth €40/pp at all seating is horribly squeezed together (i’ve lived in thailand for 1.5 years)

Best Thai in Berlin, no restaurant comes close 🇹🇭🤤

A restaurant was recommended to us, but it was quite disappointing. We both wanted to order a chicken noodle dish, but the waitress wouldn't let us order the same dish because it was a sharing concept. After much discussion, we ended up ordering a different second dish. When the two dishes were served, it turned out the chicken noodle consisted of one chicken leg. 🙈. How do you share that? The atmosphere was completely ruined when the bill was almost three times as much. When we pointed it out, we were told it was a mistake. Okay, that's possible. But we really lost faith. Good for one meal. I prefer to choose what I want to eat.

Used to be the best thai food in berlin. Deeply fell off in both quality and vibes last time I was there. A couple of our dishes, pork larb and papaya salad, were totally flavorless. Octopus curry was still good. But larb and papaya salad are thai staples that shouldn’t be bland and uninteresting, not to mention not even spicy despite this restaurant being so arrogant about everything being thai spicy.

Came here for a quick dessert, got two mango sticky rice and Thai iced tea The mango sticky rice was delicious and mangoes were perfect! Thai iced tea was more milky than usual but still really good! Super impressed

The fried sea bass with curry sauce was great- really properly sweat inducing spice - they didn’t hold back! Based on that the octopus dish is probably lethal. The som tum was missing a certain something, the tuna tataki salad was nice, drinks a bit on the pricey side and they won’t give tap water. Cash only.

Larb Koi is by far the best Thai food we've tried in Germany so far! The dishes are super authentic and incredibly delicious! Of the starters, we liked the oysters, the papaya salad, and the Larb Kai the best. And for the main course, we highly recommend the fried sea bass! We'll definitely be back again and again.

Authentic food really good location!

The food at Larb Koi is excellent, with truly authentic Thai flavors and beautifully prepared dishes. The quality is consistently high, and the staff are warm, friendly, and attentive, which really enhances the dining experience. That said, I was quite disappointed by one policy: despite spending around €100 on food and wine, we were told that tap water was not available—even on a very hot day in Berlin—and instead had to order a €7 bottle of still water. This felt unreasonable and left a negative impression after an otherwise wonderful meal. What made it more frustrating was noticing what looked like a jug of water on another table, which only added to the sense of inconsistency. Overall, the food and service were fantastic, but this water policy unfortunately left us with a less-than-perfect experience

We had a wonderful dinner here. Food is well seasoned and with a great level of spiciness ( my and my partners spice tolerance is 7-8/10, thier spiciness level to our taste was around 5-7/10. We had the Papaya salad, the confi duck, and the minced fork with the liver, together with mango and sticky rice for dessert and complimented with Lemongrass tea and jelly coffee. Everything was very delicious, maybe just the Papaya salad wasn't very much to my taste, it could be marinated for less time (or the tomatoes just didn't fit well there)

Superb authentic food, friendly staff

Authentic, warm, and incredibly delicious! The two of us dined at Larb Koi and received a warm welcome. Right from the start, we were given helpful information about the spiciness of the dishes and about paying in cash – very transparent and friendly. The chicken and pork larb were fresh, spicy, and simply delicious. The service was attentive, and they asked us several times if everything was okay. A special highlight: The chef personally brought a greeting from the kitchen and asked how we liked the food. We learned a lot of fascinating things about the origins of the dishes and the differences between the different regions of Thailand. An all-around fantastic experience – we'll definitely be back!

Absolutely incredible Thai food. Really spicy, homemade curry that bursts with flavours. Oysters were also an incredible experience.

Delicious, authentic thai recipes, excellently made. The service staff on a very busy evening were welcoming, efficient, quick and made us smile with their kindness. The menu has very few, if any, options for non-meat eaters and the kitchen cannot accommodate easily any minor special requests. Overpriced dishes, particularly for that area, the rather pricey wine menu needs to be reviewed- all the whites are very similar and desperately need an addition of an off-dry Riesling or a bit sweeter to better match with the food and the heat. A Thai beer brand would also add immensely to the experience. The sticky rice in the small serving of mango & rice pudding was not sticky, but crunchy and not that appealing, and the type of mango must have been chosen hastily (fibrous, not sweet enough). A must-go for the ones searching for authentic cuisine from all over Thailand and are prepared to pay more for it, in cash only.

Very friendly service. The restaurant has a clear vision, and the food served here is very authentic. If you're used to spicy food, the spicy dishes are perfect; those who can't stand Thai spice should opt for the milder dishes.

It starts with an announcement of a time limit (maximum 2 hours). You immediately feel unwelcome, even though you haven't even entered the restaurant yet. Then you're consistently addressed in English. I find it incomprehensible that it's taken for granted that you speak English. You immediately get the feeling in the restaurant that the restaurant is king, not the customer. Everything you can't do is dictated to you and not what's offered. Overall, a very disappointing experience and an unpleasant feeling. The food and drink selection is very limited. Individual requests are completely ignored. On top of that, card payments aren't accepted. Extremely questionable given the high prices. There are too many better alternatives in the area.

This place is unbelievable. If you read this and never come by, you are making a grave mistake. Not only is the service on point, the atmosphere humble yet chique, but the food…. I came here now for the third time and can‘t come up with a proper reason why I ate any other food in between. The Khao Soi really caught me off-guard. It‘s gentle, yet not boring, and brings everything you would want it to have. The fish is even more delicious than it looks - simple perfection.

As a fan of Thai cuisine, you have plenty of choice in Berlin. Larb Koi certainly doesn't have a particularly pleasant ambiance, but the small menu is well-stocked. 5 stars for the quality of the food. I can include a total of five dishes in this review, and all of them tasted great. The restaurant clearly focuses on a few dishes, but they are then prepared with great dedication. Important: You should be able to tolerate spicy food: the papaya salad, in particular, was quite spicy. A few points are deducted for the staff's lack of German and the fact that you can only pay in cash. Given the low fees, this is outdated and opens the door to money laundering.

If I didn’t had any principles I would love this restaurant because the food is amazing, but: 1. Cash only (let’s just play it fair) 2. No tap water (we are not at a kebab shop) 3. Toilet €2 for no-guests (can we please be more human here)

It is by far the best and most authentic Thai restaurant in town. Every dish is absolutely delicious , even if it’s very spicy, it’s really worth it. I got actually use to it and we became regular customers. All dishes are recommended but a little mention for the octopus curry that we had yesterday , which was the best octopus dish I have ever tried . The mango sticky rice was also absolutely amazing and takes away all the spicyness at the end of the dinner which is very welcome … I also recommend to take beer if the spices hurts . They have a beautiful and delicious selection of teas . The atmosphere is really cool, cosmopolitan , the decor is very authentic and charming. And the service perfect, warm and smily. Thank you guys , we are soon back .

Absolutely perfect! The food was incredibly flavourful and aromatic. The duck was life-changing - best I’ve ever had. The oysters were large and meaty, incredible seasoning, the chicken was delicious and aromatic, and the sticky mango rice was rich and comforting, the perfect way to end the meal. No notes really. The staff were extremely nice, helpful and accommodating. Cannot wait to go back - actually, we already booked our next visit. As others have said, it is quite spicy - the level of spice was perfect for us (with the help of a milk tea). The place also doesn’t accommodate vegan diets, and it would probably be tough for vegetarians as well.

In terms of taste, everything was fine, but unfortunately there was no relaxed atmosphere and you didn't feel welcome as a guest. You can ignore the 2-hour limit for the table, but the staff also gave you the feeling that you should hurry up with your food. However, at the beginning of the visit you are given a foretaste: the welcome immediately consists of a note about the time limit and also the emphatic note that only cash payment is possible - the guest immediately feels at home... not. In addition, no salt was given to you when you asked and it was also not possible to have 3 identical meals for four guests - absolutely incomprehensible. Conclusion: Food okay (although too expensive), the rest not.

It was a bit uncomfortable because waitresses were constantly standing by and asking more often than usual if everything was OK. Otherwise there are delicious and spicy dishes that are close to my heart.

WOW. Hands down the best Thai food I’ve ever had in Berlin. I was taken there by friends, not knowing what to expect, and I was absolutely blown away. The food, the service, the value for money — honestly unbeatable. We were lucky enough to be waited on by the owner himself (if you’ve read any of my reviews, you’ll know that’s always a big plus for me). He offered us free samples and took the time to explain how they prepare their dishes — you could really feel the passion. When we left, the chef even came out to ask if we enjoyed the food — a small gesture that made a big impression. The flavours are bold, fresh, and hot — seriously, this place doesn’t hold back on spice, so come prepared! It's just around the corner from the buzzing Boxhagener Platz, so you’re in a great area for a post-meal wander. Make sure to book ahead — it’s popular for a reason!

One of the nicest restaurant experiences i have ever had

what a disappointment! we came from really far to get here. although we arranged on the phone that we would be 10min late they gave the table to someone else. the person who was welcoming us was really nice and apologetic but the responsible coworker didn’t even have the courage to apologise and deal with the situation himself. overall the staff’s ability to find a solution or compensation was very poor. we were basically just sent out of the restaurant.

The best Thai in Berlin I've had so far. Amuse and a small homemade aperitif were included, the prices were absolutely reasonable for this really good quality. Everything tasted excellent, some fine dining combined with traditional cuisine and our own creations. Absolutely recommended, especially for people who like to eat something spicier.

There is really good Thai food here. It looks very authentic and, above all, tastes really good. It's not cheap, but for the quality it's definitely worth it! The team is friendly and the restaurant is cozy. Unfortunately, no card payment is possible.

The food here is very spicy, but they make sure to inform you beforehand, so you’re well-prepared. If you can’t handle spice, this might not be the spot for you. However, the limited menu is well-curated, and the dishes are definitely worth trying! The chef is incredibly friendly, cheerful, and makes you feel right at home. The waitstaff is equally polite and welcoming, adding to the warm atmosphere. Although I can’t handle spicy food myself (I visited with friends), I absolutely loved the drinks—they were fantastic! The ambiance is cozy and inviting, though the space is small and often packed, so getting a table can be tricky. All in all, it’s a vibrant spot with great energy and a must-visit for spice lovers!

Top, top, top! Small shop, 100% authentic. Concentrated and very fine menu with changing daily specials. In terms of taste, the restaurant is in no way inferior to the starred and other competitors. The ambience is simple but not unpleasant. No chichi - good food, nothing else!

You have to try the papaya salad! It’s amazing. We paired it with a fried fish, also amazing. Our order was filled out with rice and beef curry dish. The atmosphere is smoky Thai cook shop. The air was thick with spice. This is not the usual Thai we experience in the USA. Much better and cleaner in taste and texture. And they are not afraid to lay on the heat!

The place is small. I was sitting in a small chair next to the door and it is not a nice place to sit in winter when people are coming and going all the time, I appreciated the service, The employees were attentive all the time, the service lady warned us about the level of spicyness, fortunately they had only two non spicy dishes on the menu which saved my butt cause I can't tolerate spicyness, I ordered the BBQ (pork) it was really good flavored, my friend ordered a dish "medium spyce" but even for her loving spicy food it was just toooo much 🥵🔥🔥🔥 just be aware of this !

Very good Thai restaurant with a small menue. The prices are ok and the staff is very freindly. All dishes are made the traditional way and are of course very spicy. If you can't stand it you better do not come here 😅

Incredibly great but sharpness for professionals

Simply fantastic! The best Thai food we had outside of Thailand. The Som Tam was a dream, we also really enjoyed the larb and curry. Even the dessert - I'm not a fan of sweets - was excellent. And I'm a fan of Berlin beer. We'll definitely be back.

food was very good, service was also very good, atmosphere was great...until the owner/manager arrived, instantly the vibe dropped ten points, he was yelling at staff, being visibly irritated while standing in the middle of the flow of service and kitchen , then poured a shot of whiskey and slammed it during the middle of service in the middle of the dining room. would be a better restaurant if he stayed home and let people do their jobs. employees and guests deserve better.

We went for a very late lunch. The food was delicious but a bit overpriced for the portion sizes. It's perhaps a place more for special occasions which it was, luckily. The pork belly really stood out as it was so juicy and flavorful. It comes with a killer spicy sauce on the side. Oddly, we had to order rice separately. The papaya salad was also good. The downside: Right when we got in, the server greeted us and proceeded to tell us we had to leave in two hours and could pay only in cash. The cash-only rule limited us to a smaller order (dishes weren't cheap!), and the time pressure of two hours put a damper on the evening. The menu also states that they don't make exceptions to spice, which is fine for us but the whole rule thing felt excessive, even for us living in Germany. In fact, it all cheapens the experience. Perhaps waiting for guests to be seated would feel more hospitable. Especially since there were only two tables when we got there. We were in a very good mood and felt celebratory, so it was fine considering our special occasion but probably wouldn't go back.

Excellent food: authentic and with lots of flavor explosions! The spiciness in the food is still reasonable, but you can notice the spiciness in the air - some guests had to occasionally cough. Therefore, a point deduction for the ambience: Rather small shop with a half-open kitchen, fresh air lovers will not be very happy here, but they are very tasty 😉

Quite tasty but a bit overhyped. The menu is very small and be warned that they don't have many of the things you see on the photos here. It's a shame they can't be flexible with the level of spice - I have no problem eating spicy food but don't feel the need to have my food so hot that it ruins the other flavours for me.

Fantastic place, one of the handful authentic Thai restaurants in Berlin. They do not adjust spice levels of their dishes, and on their menu use the Thai spiciness scale not the German one. That is, a dish not marked to be spicy on the menu is still 5/5 on German spiciness scale (but 1/5 on Thai scale). They did have one dish as a daily special that was not spicy even for German taste, but I guess thats not guaranteed.

It's real Thai food. We asked if we could have a vegetarian version of the Papaya salad and the chef came out to scold us. He cannot make it without dried shrimps. :p It took quite a while to bring out the five dishes we ordered but the service was pretty nice and generally attentive.

If you want to book a restaurant, you can only pay in cash. Please note that it is a very high-end restaurant. I ate it today and it struck me that it was quite special, especially the pork liver dish, but the portion was really small. Fried fish is too dry If you want to come in here to eat, they will tell you that this is a very spicy restaurant, please weigh it yourself. It can’t be adjusted at all. It sounds cool, but it’s actually very strange. It’s just for people who are completely or suitable for very spicy food. In terms of taste, I felt that it was completely overwhelmed by the spiciness and I didn’t taste any Thai spices. If you want to say it tastes like authentic Thailand, it’s not exactly true. When you eat something very spicy, you get a kick out of it, so you want to drink something to go with your rice. Keep eating, keep eating, that’s it. The price is a bit expensive

My mate made a comment on their food on Google Maps. He has never said the food was bad, but the owner seemed to be very pissed and told him to spread the words, so here I am. :) You might have a great Thai chef, but there can still be people who honestly don't like your food. It'll help your restaurant and your life if you learn to accept it. For the record, we like spicy food. My mate was only saying the food is very spicy and therefore he could not sense other tastes of the dish. We didn't ask adjusting the flavour and apparently you wouldn't let us to, but it's still very unusual. I've visited Thailand many times and of course you can ask for non-spicy or less spicy food. Also not every Thai person enjoys spicy food. No worries. We won't visit you again, but it's not because of your authentic Thai food; it's because of your arrogance and lack of manners. Please note that you're playing with fire mentioning our "countrymen" in your comment. The following is the quote of the owner's comment: "And we do not accept requests to change our flavors and/or spiciness level because we believe we have more experience than you in cooking as our chefs have been in Thai kitchens for more than 20 years. In every dish that you say is too expensive, do you know that some of the ingredients are imported from Thailand, not the ingredients that can be found in supermarkets in Germany?
