Rote Bete Karlsruhe in Karlsruhe

I was also lured by the great reviews and the false name "restaurant" and was unfortunately very disappointed. 🤔 1. This isn't a restaurant, but a regular snack bar where you pay at the counter. 2. The price-performance ratio is completely out of this world: For 15 euros, you get a falafel plate that only consists of three(!) small falafel and practically nothing else but salad. That's unacceptable, completely overpriced! If only the food were fresh and well-seasoned, but no such thing: Everything seems like convenience food, even the falafel. Furthermore, the falafel and hummus taste of virtually nothing at all: not spicy, not like cumin, parsley, or sesame—completely bland. The vegetables were also very fatty. The stuffed vine leaves are also clearly from a can. I don't go to a snack bar for that; I can buy them at home for less! I also find the customer restroom problematic: It's not signposted in the dining room, meaning you have to wander through the dark hallway to find it yourself. There's no light there, and there's no light switch for the bathroom either, or the one on the wall is completely dirty, as if it hasn't been used in years. The bathroom seems cluttered, inhospitable, and bare, and the faucet is awkward to operate, like a boiler. There are no instructions for that either. Furthermore, there's no trash can for feminine hygiene products next to the toilet! The falafelerie in Esslingen is unfortunately a hundred times better; the falafel there is handmade, super-seasoned, and still cheaper than here. I'll still give it one star for the friendly staff and the beautiful decor in the dining room.

We had a completely vegetarian buffet for around 90 guests at our beetroot wedding reception. Delivery and collection went smoothly as discussed and on time. The quality was outstanding and the quantity of food was more than enough. We were very excited and thank you again for the great buffet.

I had the pleasure of eating at Rote Beete and all I can say is it was an all around great experience! As soon as I entered the restaurant I felt welcome. The atmosphere is cozy, stylish and invites you to linger. The food was simply excellent. The service was also first class. The staff was friendly, attentive and always available without being intrusive. Price-performance ratio is absolutely right here, and I will definitely come back. If you want to enjoy good food in a great atmosphere, you should definitely visit Rote Beete!

The Rote Bete Restaurant offers a wonderful selection of delicious dishes in a cozy atmosphere for meat and vegan eaters, especially the excellent sauces. The boss Judi insists that all customers leave the store full and satisfied. The staff is friendly and attentive. The starter with falafels was particularly a highlight! I can only recommend this restaurant and look forward to my next visit!

Our expectations were not disappointed, it is a really great restaurant with freshly prepared food, and our request for gluten-free components was very attentively addressed. It was disappointing to see only 4 pieces and small falafel on the 12 euro falafel plate. A huge iceberg lettuce in the middle took precedence over everything else. I can say it tasted good.

Very tasty food and for 12/13€ you get a large portion that will definitely fill you up. There are many vegetarian and vegan options. Nice staff and very nice atmosphere. However, you should keep in mind that it gets relatively crowded at lunchtime.

Very friendly staff and a lot of selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes. Unfortunately, the wrap dough is super dry (falls apart and tattered when eaten) and the potatoes weren't cooked through (still hard and cold inside). It's called a "Halloumi wrap" and there was only a small piece of halloumi in it, what a shame! Since the offer for students no longer exists, the whole thing has simply become far too expensive for what you get.

Very pleasant atmosphere and absolutely great food!! But above all, the friendly and personable employees helped us a lot with the selection and were extremely accommodating!

Rote Bete organized the catering for my celebration on October 5th, 2024. The reliability, adherence to delivery dates and the service were great. All my guests and I were extremely satisfied with the selection of food, the quality of the food, the presentation and also the taste. Gladly again - highly recommended.

Food tastes very tasty here. You should note that it is more of a “simple” restaurant or snack bar than a restaurant where you can sit for a long time. Since we didn't have that on our radar, I'm only giving the atmosphere 3 stars.

We had dinner in Rote Beet today and were very satisfied. The menu offers a diverse selection of dishes (including vegetarian and vegan). The falafel plate (see photo) was excellently prepared, very tasty and the portion was large. The price of €12 is not only justified, but can also be described as a bargain. A drink for €2 is also very cheap these days. The staff was also nice and the furnishings were nice. Overall, everything was great and recommended!

Very nice Syrian local. Nicely furnished with a relaxed flair. Nice, warm owners. Large selection, the food was super tasty. The only small note is that the falafel could be a little crispier, but otherwise very highly recommended. We'll definitely be back!

The food was very good, but unfortunately the staff always seemed very stressed. In addition, some dishes are often not available, so if you send a colleague to pick them up, it's best to think about an alternative dish straight away.
