Very friendly. I don't like the smell coming from Schweinhaxen. however. It was the best Schweinhaxen I've ever had. It was soft and not tough.

tourist trap— (read more) but the real reason behind the low rating is the lack of flavor in the food. we ordered the boiled meat, which came with green sauce and potatoes. i swear not a single thing on that plate had any salt. the green sauce tasted at most like dill flavored yogurt, not like the 7 herbs its supposed to have. the meat was overcooked, it was so tough to chew. the sausages tasted like costco. even the oranges they garnished the dishes with were old. save ur money xx this $50 usd was insane for something that you could make (and im not even a good cook). also there wasn’t a single local there so ig that should’ve been our warning

Paying a minimum of 30 euros when eating at the table is understandable. Paying a minimum of 30 euros to eat at a counter bar is something I don't understand? The counter bar price is expensive.

The clerks were friendly and the female clerks were all pretty. I had Schnitchel with mushroom sauce, Weichen beer, and Guinness. I had a meal that went well with beer. This is a restaurant that can accommodate a large number of people or even one person.

Three-hour layover in Frankfurt? You know you got to hit up some sausages and beer my friends! And you could do worse than hang with these guys. We got the sausages, schnitzel and 2 beers. Small typical brasserie in Frankfurt. We wanted to eat local, sausages, sauerkraut, potatoes etc and we were not disappointed. It's still very basic, but very good. The decoration is simple and cozy.

Schnitzel is big but thin like a newspaper

As tourists you don’t typically make it back to the same place twice. This trip we did make it here twice and loved it both times the pork knuckle is so good crisp and super tasty schnitzel and amazing steak! The beer cold and fresh and all of us smiling!

I had the schnitzel with mushroom sauce. For drinks, I ordered an apple wine called Apfelbein. Schnitzel had a choice of pork or chicken, so I chose pork. I think the meat is rolled out thinly, but as you can see in the photo, it's quite large, and I think it weighs more than 200g. It's hard to eat all by yourself, so it might be a good idea to have someone to share it with. You will be asked if you want to add potatoes, but since there was so much meat, I honestly didn't have to. You can choose small or large apple sake. I chose the small size, but I think it has 250ml. The wine is not very expensive and has almost no sweetness, resembling a dry white wine. I visited around 11:30 on a Saturday, and was able to get in right away. The staff can speak English, and the menu is also in English, so you shouldn't have any problems from ordering to paying. Is it delicious sometimes? I had a good impression of the hospitality as well.

The food was seasoned just right and the schnitzel was good without any meaty smell. The cabbage that came with the sausage tastes very similar to Korean kimchi stir-fry.

The Haksen is really soft and delicious. However, it is a little sweet, so if you don't like sweet food, you might get tired of it. Dark beer is very strong. I used the outdoor table and was overall satisfied.

I was worried because people said it was salty... but for some reason. The meat was rather light, and the cabbage had the most mediocre taste. We end our 20-day trip to Germany with the perfect Schweinhaxen and Pils beer :) I also recommended a friend who lives in Germany to come!!

Grilled knuckles are great, but the sauerkraut is not so good. Staff friendly, restaurant air-conditioned and cozy.

There were pictures on the menu, so ordering was convenient! The food was also mouth-watering and delicious! I thought Haksen would have a lot of portions, so 2 people ordered those menu items, and it was a great combination, so I recommend it. The service from the staff is also really great.

I don't quite understand all the stars. The dishes are ok in themselves, but nothing more. Very classic, no big surprises. It's a shame that you can't get Frankfurter Schnitzel here. The restaurant is mostly visited by (Asian) tourists. The ambience is very disappointing, and the terrace doesn't seem particularly inviting either. The prices are very high and, for me, very excessive for the quality.

The steak was cooked well and the French fries were perfectly done. They also have a fully stocked bar and several beers on tap to include Guinness.

Went there for the second time today. For the first time we got 2 dumplings with sauce for just under €6. Today for the same order we were charged €6 each for the blank dumplings PLUS just under €6 for a small bowl of sauce!! Means: 2 dumplings with sauce 12€?? We paid impulsively and left extremely disappointed. In the end we only had to pay almost €50 for side dishes (3x dumplings with sauce and fries)… If we had known that we would be charged double this time, we would not have come a second time. Very disappointing and disproportionate.

This is a store that has been hyped by several Korean bloggers. The moment I innocently entered this store I find that only Asians are crowded into a corner away from the sun. The middle-aged waitress guides us to a place where only Asians are crowded, and tells us that there is no way to get out of there. All you have to do is get out into the hot, dirty streets of the sun. The first thing she says after showing us to her seat is “We only accept cash, no cards!” Oh my god, I came here to eat Schweinhaxen and I came with the intention of spending close to 100 euros. They only accept cash It's 2024 lady.

The pork knuckle was good . Crispy outside and moist inside. The pork schnitzel was okey… nothing to shout about. Salad very nice though, dressing perfectly.

Ordered bratwurst with potato and sauerkraut - very delicious! Possibly the best sauerkraut I’ve ever tried (and I’m a big fan). No worries if you don’t speak German, the staff speaks English very well and are friendly and welcoming.

Very, very delicious German pig's feet. The surface is coated with honey. It is very crispy and juicy when cut. According to the portion size of local pig's feet, it is not too big and can easily be shared by one or two people. Their grilled salmon is also pretty good, average to above average. The main ingredient of the yellow sauce should be pumpkin, which matches the taste of the salmon quite well. If you want to eat local pork knuckles after paying for shopping, besides Paulaner, this restaurant will also be a good choice.

I heard that a lot of Koreans come here, so I had high expectations, but I couldn't eat it without beer. It was salty as expected. And almost all the tables are Korean. Hmm... I don't think I'll come next time. I'm satisfied with trying it once!

A great location, friendly, kind and welcoming staff. The beer and food were amazing. I ate and drank here because of the European Championship. Acceptable prices for two people with food, drink and dessert around 80 euros I paid. We were received by an elderly lady who I suspect owns the place and is of Romanian origin since 1975, having left the country! I highly recommend the place.

Haksen & black veins are yummy (and fries are yummy too) There was a wait when I went in the evening. Everyone seemed busy serving people, but I felt relieved as the blonde server calmly guided me.

The roasted pork knuckle was great! Not overcooked nor dry. Really moist and the skin is really crispy. Service was nice and fast, really smart wait staff.

Seldom give reviews but this restaurant is definitely a must visit if you are around here. As a singaporean who carries high standards for food quality, this restaurant definitely hit my expectations! Just found it quite funny the other diners are all asians too… guess we all read the google reviews before coming here.. haha!

Came here for the pork knuckle which was great. The rouladen were good (especially the gravy/sauce and klöse) but the red cabbage had way too much sugar couldn’t eat it. The pfefferlinge with fried potatoes was very rich and the potatoes a bit greasy but both were definitely made with fresh ingredients. The Frankfurt Grüne Sosse was delicious but there’s only one version possible with boiled potatoes and eggs which was fine but nothing wow. Construction outside ruined the patio seating but imagine when that isn’t in full swing it’s nice.

This is a 100% German restaurant. The Schweiss Haxe had a crispy skin and a perfect amount of volume, making it the perfect accompaniment to beer. The sausage was also a must-try dish if you come to Frankfurt. The sauerkraut that comes with the dish is not too sour and has a gentle flavor that suits Japanese people well. The potatoes were sticky and had an authentic German flavor that is hard to find in Japan. For the two of us, we ordered 4 beers and 2 dishes and it cost just under 70€. The staff's service is also very good as they greet you with a smile.

They don't take cards unless you spend 30 Euro. So stupid. What is the German aversion to credit cards. Please join the 21 st century and get over cash. Would have been more enjoyable if I wasn't forced to buy a dessert I didn't want and will go in the trash.

The restaurant is located at a corner not far from Dom but less busy than the restaurants right around Dom. The roasted pork knuckle is very tasty, but the “Frankfurter Platte” is a bit disappointing. We should have ordered the farmer sausage which looks better. The Carolus Bouble Bock bear is worth trying, a dark bear but quite smooth. The design of beer cup could be better by moving the logo to the side for ease of photography. Reasonable price, in overall a nice local restaurant for Germany food. Better to book in advance or come for early dinner otherwise you may have to wait in a queue.

We forgot to make a reservation on our last night in Frankfurt and were near panic. We looked at 20-restaurants and settled on Romer Pils. We made a reservation at 5PM for 6:30 and it was honored, although the restaurant was very busy. Seated and greeted promptly. We shared a chicken schnitzel with mushroom sauce, spatzle and spinach, bottle of wine, and the Apple strudel, $105 with tip. The food and service were great. This is an intimate bar/pub/restaurant that is not to miss. Highly recommend.

This is the best pork knuckle I have ever eat in Frankfurt! Lighter seasoning, suitable for people with light tastes. This is an unforgettable lunch with the crispy skin, tender pork, and perfectly seasoned German sauerkraut(for me). Whenever I pass through Frankfurt, I always want to taste this flavor again.

Schnitzel and apple wine. Schnitzel: Isn't this too lonely? More than half of the customers in the restaurant are Chinese, and since there are so many people, I wish they would make a Chinese menu. It's nice to be alone because it's comfortable. It was a Friday night and no reservations were necessary. You will be reminded that you cannot use your card for amounts under $30.

If your goal is to experience schnitzel, not bad. Credit card payment is not possible for amounts under 30 euros. There is a lot of schnitzel, but it is a bit dry. The mushroom cream sauce covers it. German beer is, of course, delicious...

I was there by my city walking tour guide. I didn't expect too high before . But I was surprised by schnitzel and I dont know the exact name of the food(foot of the pork?). Everything was very good.

I found this place because it was said to be a Haksen restaurant. The saltiness of Haksen is good and you can enjoy meat dishes that are moist on the outside. This place usually requires a reservation, but you can sit at the bar, have a beer, and wait for a table to become available.

Of all the Schweinshaxe I had in Germany, this one is the most delicious. The employees were friendly and the schnitzel and sausages were reasonably priced. For those who don't understand the menu, I've attached a Korean translation photo, so it would be helpful for reference.

Central and service is really nice (multilingual!), BUT it was the first time (also the last) that I went to FFM for a 0.5 sour cider for €6.90! I paid ;-) I think that “someone in the background is filling their pockets”, which is exactly why I gave a tip anyway (hope it got through to the “waitress” too!).

It attracts tourists, very high prices and dishes served without any side dishes. 7 euros for a small bowl of green sauce, 30 euros for two slices of schweinsnitzel! Rude and annoyed waitresses. Foreign staff who understand little German and do not deign to listen to the entire order, ergo the wrong order. Great expectations, terrible experience.

A restaurant we randomly sat at while wandering the streets of Frankfurt. You know how bad it could be? That's what we thought. Classic schnitzel was very dry, very hard and had a very salty taste.😔. It was better with mushroom sauce, I think it was thanks to the mushroom sauce. The beer is classic beer. Even if I went again, this is a place where I wouldn't want schnitzel. French fries were also ordinary.

The pork knuckle skin is so crispy, but the meat is unpalatable and dry. Assorted platter for 2 people. The potatoes are delicious and the intestines are good, but the pork chop is not good. The pork chop needs 2 pieces. Beer does not have a strong wheat flavor

Food was authentic and delicious. Goulash came out piping hot and the bratwurst was cooked perfectly. Can't wait to come back, next time I'm in frankfurt. Side note: if they warn you that the goulash is spicy, don't believe them. It's delicious but not spicy at all.

The cabbage or sauerkraut (not sure if i called correctly?) is the best. It goes well with the pork Salad dressing is very good so I would like to have them more😋😋 Sausage is very good, dipping with mustard is wonderful 🥹 For fried pork with mushroom sauce, i think the fried pork is a little bit dry. Need to put a plenty of sauce to them. Buts the mushroom room sauce is very delicious 🤤 Finally found my favorite German pork knuckle restaurant. I’m not a fan of it but this restaurant finally made me love it😍 If I visit Frankfurt again I will definitely go back to the restaurant. The staffs are friendly 💗 For the location you can walk from the Frankfurt cathedral.
