Romantik Hotel Dorotheenhof Weimar in Weimar

Yes, absolutely. The location is wonderful, on the outskirts of Weimar, yet not far away. The room and bathroom were very small, but beautifully renovated. The beds were a bit narrow and a bit hard, but that varies from person to person. It wasn't cozy in my opinion. We booked directly through the hotel and were given a room on the lower floor facing the parking lot, which was a bit disappointing. However, a lady at the reception desk made a note for us that we would reserve a room facing the park next time, which was very nice of her. The service staff were generally very courteous and attentive, except for one lady at the reception desk (wearing glasses) who greeted us with the phrase "It's a bit early, though," instead of a warm welcome. We found this a bit strange, and we didn't even want to go to the room yet. Anyway, the park by the hotel is lovely, with apple and pear trees, hammocks, a swing, and loungers; everything was wonderful. Breakfast and half board were very satisfactory. We would gladly come back.

The hotel complex and the rooms are well-maintained, the staff is very friendly, the food is delicious and freshly prepared, and the morning buffet is very extensive; nothing is missing.

The accommodation is quietly located outside of Weimar. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. We felt very comfortable throughout. The room offered everything we needed. It was very spacious, and the beds were very comfortable. We would especially like to emphasize the hospitality and the child-friendliness. The food, as part of the half-board package, was delicious. The large garden invites you to stroll, linger, and relax. We highly recommend the accommodation! We really appreciated that the accommodation is somewhat secluded. You can find out about the location in advance, so it shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone :-)

August 2025 Once again, we felt very comfortable at the Konsum-Hotel Dorotheenhof – "Visiting good friends." There was even time for a personal/private chat with the staff. All the staff were warm and genuine. We discussed our wishes with reception before our arrival, and they were easily implemented on-site. This also made the birthday surprise a success. 😀 Unfortunately, there's no longer a juicer at breakfast – it was always a highlight. But the reasons are understandable. And the breakfast is still great. Overall, it was another very nice short break at the Dorotheenhof, where all the staff are very committed and passionate! February 2025 We visited the Dorotheenhof for the first time, for a long weekend. We felt at home from the very beginning and enjoyed the ambiance. The weekend was so good, and the hot stone massage was simply wonderful – it allowed us to recharge our batteries. All the staff were very warm and genuine. We've never had so many great conversations with the staff at any other hotel before – it felt like "staying with good friends." The rooms are well-equipped (including a tea station, small toiletries, etc.) and were clean. Breakfast was also excellent – there was something for every taste. The freshly squeezed orange juice daily was also a plus – a rarity in hotels these days. And the honey from the Dorotheenhof bees... delicious :) The half-board dinner was also great – one evening there was a 4-course menu, another evening a buffet. The selection was well-prepared and delicious. Everyone will find something here – and, above all, they'll be full. The hotel is in a quiet location – surrounded by greenery and plantations and vineyards. It's a great place to sleep (or get some sleep). Weimar city center is just a few minutes away by car.

Room on the first floor under the eaves. Blackout curtains partially cover the two skylights. Not completely dark. Firm mattress. No noise from outside. You can hear the television in the neighboring room. Clean shower room. Generous breakfast, typical for a hotel of this caliber. Paid parking is impossible to avoid. Why not include it in the room rate?

We felt very comfortable at the Konsumhotel Dorotheenhof. This somewhat secluded hotel, formerly a farm, boasts heavenly peace and quiet (especially at night), clean, comfortable rooms, a delicious breakfast buffet, and very friendly staff. We highly recommend a stay.

A truly beautiful, excellent, and beautifully situated hotel, right among fields, just outside Weimar. When you wake up in the morning, you can hear the birds chirping, but otherwise it's completely quiet. The staff is very friendly and you're greeted with a smile. The breakfast is simply perfect. The rooms are very clean and have everything you need. The spacious wellness area is super clean, with three saunas and a large relaxation room. Massages are offered. We'll be back.

The service and reception are very nice and friendly. Our room was dark and quite small. The hotel is very far away from everyday life. Without a car it is very difficult to do anything. You have to walk a long way to the bus stop. The breakfast was very good. The only problem is the hot food if you have booked half board. The portions are so small that even a child doesn't get full. The taste leaves a lot to be desired. The worst thing is the buffet - if you are not quick enough you only get potatoes with vegetables. A disaster, this shouldn't happen. But it happens regularly there, I think the chef is related to the owners. Any other reputable company would have parted ways with the chef. We went out to eat the last few evenings. Finally tasty food and we didn't go to bed hungry. We cannot recommend this hotel. Once and never again.

In June 2025, we stayed at this hotel with our motorcycle group (around 40 bikers). For people socialized in the GDR, consumerism has a rather bland aftertaste—consumerism, as it was called. Being so predisposed to this, one is very pleasantly surprised. We had a suite with a sauna in the room, which was extremely pleasant after getting soaked during the ride! We missed USB charging ports, but the included Wi-Fi was spotty. The parking lot is paved and right next to the hotel; only the access road is in dire need of repair and, due to the large potholes, is not entirely safe for motorcycles. The breakfast leaves nothing to be desired and is quickly replenished. Room service is not offered daily or only upon request, hence one star less. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. Because we had to leave early on Sunday for our return journey, the breakfast buffet was opened 30 minutes earlier especially for us. The extensive evening meal with a buffet was served in the hall of a new building. Special mention goes to the two waitresses who, on the last evening, also held a small, humorous raffle. That's what makes KONSUM fun!

Yes, it's just outside of Weimar and easily accessible by bus number 7. The surroundings, park, and meadow are very pleasant. A magnificent view over Weimar.

Great hotel and excellent restaurant. We were particularly impressed by the very nice and clean rooms and the very generous and delicious breakfast. We also have to commend the restaurant staff, who, despite apparently being understaffed, left nothing to be desired and really went above and beyond. We definitely recommend this establishment.

To get to the hotel, you have to drive along a narrow cobbled country road, so we thought if the road there was so ancient, hopefully the hotel wasn't. But fortunately, that wasn't the case. It is beautifully nestled among vineyards and has a very large park. We were there at the end of May, and everything was already in bloom. Unfortunately, parking in front of the hotel is subject to a fee, but as soon as you exit the hilly country road, there are free parking spaces (about 500 meters away). The hotel unexpectedly has a very nice wellness area. We particularly liked the steam bath with its wonderful aroma. The relaxation room is uniquely beautifully designed and offers tea and water. Luckily, in the summer, there were very few people there, so we almost had it to ourselves. There are no more than 10 loungers available, but they were of particularly high quality. We had half board, and it was mostly delicious. Only one day was it mediocre. The breakfast is small but fine. It was important that everything was constantly refilled. There was even champagne on the weekend. All in all, we really enjoyed it and would come back.

We were there as a couple from Friday to Sunday and can't complain. The location is stunningly beautiful and quiet. The room was stylishly furnished and clean. The dinner (buffet) was plentiful and delicious. The breakfast was first-class and left nothing to be desired. The friendly staff, from reception to the spa, deserves special mention. We'd love to come back!

It's noticeable that they're cutting costs. Last year, breakfast still included freshly squeezed orange juice and fresh waffles. The fountain isn't turned on either.

We had dinner at the hotel on May 3, 2025, to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The welcome was very friendly, and the table set for us was perfect, in conjunction with the setting. The service was very attentive and delighted us. A big compliment also goes to the kitchen. The food was delicious. We will happily recommend the restaurant and would be happy to return. We stayed here for two nights...we had booked with breakfast...the hotel is very nice...a great, quiet park-like area with comfortable seating...the staff, from the reception to the service area to the wellness area, was always friendly and accommodating...the treatments with Melissa were very relaxing and soothing...she is very competent and also gives good tips...big thank you again...our room was nicely furnished and clean...we will definitely come back and will definitely use this hotel recommend...we recovered very well👌

The price-performance ratio is really good. We were there for a seminar. The breakfast and lunch were really great. The breakfast selection was very large and the quality was top. You wouldn't expect that at all. The hotel's interior is quite new and modern but still comfortable. The seminar rooms are great and the location of the hotel is a little outside. Unfortunately I wasn't able to visit the wellness area, which is a shame. What impressed me most was the friendly staff and the really good price-performance ratio.

The hotel is located just outside Weimar. However, that wasn't a big problem for us. The rooms are very clean and stylishly furnished. Our beds were very comfortable and the mattresses were not worn out. The bathroom is a bit small but has a modern design. The SPA area is very pleasant and offers plenty of space. Great breakfast buffet with a large selection of fresh things including fruit and sparkling wine. The rolls/croissants are a little smaller than usual, which suited us very well. Dinner is partly served in buffet form. The salad bar is varied and fresh. Delicious food and attentive but not intrusive waitresses/service staff. Since we are now visiting the hotel for the third time, we noticed that there is even more design attention to detail in the building, dining room and rooms and that the nice staff are in an incredibly good mood, whether at the reception or in the living area / bar. The friendliness is real, you can tell that team spirit motivates the employees. Which is incredibly important in the industry, because these lovely people are the flagship of every hotel! A modern new building (parliament) is available for larger celebrations/events. The hotel complex is recommended, as is the sister hotel in Oberhof/Thuringia, which we have already visited.

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights to explore Weimar and the surrounding area. We really liked the hotel. The service was friendly and accommodating. The rooms were very clean and well maintained, no signs of wear and tear as you unfortunately find in many other hotels. The food (half board) was very good (either buffet or a choice of different dishes). We really liked the wellness area. There were several saunas available and the relaxation room was very well equipped (ready-made loungers and beds). The hotel was in a quiet location.

This is our second time at the Dorotheenhof in Weimar. Criticism: -Our biggest criticism is that there are no “privacy screens” in the rooms on the ground floor, only blackout curtains. You basically only have the choice between “everyone can look in” or a dark room. - Our second criticism is that the buffet room is very small for the number of guests. There is also only one coffee, butter and juice machine. This means that breakfast and dinner involve frequent, long queues. - Our last point of criticism is that (at least during our stay) people often smoked directly at the door when exiting/entrance to the spa terrace. Often the door was even held open, so cigarette smoke wafted through the entire hallway. -Our praise goes especially to the really extremely friendly staff. We felt very taken care of and cared for at all times! -In addition, the rooms are very clean and tidy! - The spa area is great and here too there were very friendly staff throughout. Conclusion: Great hotel that we can really recommend!!!!!!!

This is our second time in this hotel. We are particularly impressed by the service concept that is actually lived in this hotel. This time we booked a suite and are absolutely satisfied. Lots of space, especially in the bathroom with a bathtub, shower and even a sauna. It's very clean everywhere. The service is perfect, whether checking in or in the restaurant. In our opinion, the food is not overpriced these days. It's good food, perfectly prepared. And the portions are more than sufficient. The breakfast is absolutely worth the price. Very rich and tasty. A beautiful hotel with friendly service and good breakfast. However, the in-house restaurant is relatively expensive and, in our opinion, doesn't quite do justice to the prices.

Overall, relatively good. The rooms are neat and clean. When it comes to food, I can only speak about the buffet and that was quite okay for breakfast. We were there with the company and got a buffet for lunch. Quality was fine. Not great, but not necessarily bad either. I found the entire service staff at reception and in the restaurants a bit too flippant. I have no problem with a casual conversation, but a basis must first be created. There are plenty of parking spaces available. In the room I find the bathroom a bit small. However, enough for one person. I didn't look at the wellness area. Conclusion not so special, but I can recommend it for an overnight stay. You can't do anything wrong across the board. And I always have to emphasize the positive because this is not standard in some hotels, there is a kettle and tea in the room. Great!

The menu we ordered was simply great!!! A great team in a great location. Keep it up, we'll be happy to come back.

We had a wonderful weekend at Dorotheenhof. The team is incredibly nice, the spa area is tasteful, quiet and well equipped. Lavish breakfast and our highlight was the half-board dinner. Incredibly delicious! We'll be back and are already looking forward to the next time ❤️

Very nice hotel with a large, park-like outdoor area and a versatile wellness area. You can make tea in the room and in the wellness area. There is freshly squeezed orange juice for breakfast. Half board is in the form of an attractive, tasty buffet. Unfortunately, there are some points of criticism. Many things that are not expressly included in the booking can be booked later at a higher cost. The hotel can only be reached on foot via the access road for experienced public transport drivers. Use of a parking space is charged €8 per night. Bathrobe and sauna towel are available for €9.  For environmental reasons, room service is only available after 3 days.

The hotel is in an idyllic location in the countryside, friendly staff and good food! Very good offer in the sauna area. The spa area is beautifully designed. Unfortunately there is no refrigerator in the room.

Meine Freundin und ich hatten uns auf ein Wellness Wochenende gefreut, wir hatten die Wanne im Paket gebucht, leider war dies aus gesundheitlichen Gründen nicht möglich, ein Ersatz konnte oder wollte man uns, auch nach mehrmaligem Fragen nicht anbieten, der Wert in Höhe von 40 Euro wurde nicht verrechnet, wir hätten uns auch über ein Getränkegutschein oder ähnliches gefreut, etwas mehr Flexibilität wäre wünschenswert, ansonsten war das Essen gut, die Zimmer sauber Silke W.

Das Hotel, vor allem das Zimmer mit Sauna ist super gepflegt, sauber und sehr schön eingerichtet. Das Essen ist hochwertig und die Getränke leider sehr hochpreisig (über 5 Euro für ein Bier). Die Lage ist leicht außerhalb, sodass man auf ein Auto angewiesen ist. Spazieren gut möglich, da drumherum einige Feldwege sind, jedoch mit Kinderwagen sind die Wege nicht befahrbar. Der Wellnessbereich ist modern eingerichtet. Leider waren an dem Tag an die wir im Wellnessbereich waren, einige Handwerker unterwegs, sodass eine Erholung nicht möglich war. Von Hotelseite aus wurde sich zwar entschuldigt, aber eine Erstattung oder sonstige monetäre Entschädigung gab es leider nicht. Das geht sicher besser. Ansonsten ist das Hotel sehr zu empfehlen.

War ein sehr schöner Aufenthalt. Das Personal war sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Durch Personalausfall ist unser Wellnessbad ausgefallen und wir haben dafür ein Zimmerupgrade bekommen : große Suite mit Wannen - Whirpool funktion 😍 Mega! Wellnesbereich (Sauna, Massage) war auch sehr sauber und schön entspannend. Das Frühstück ist sehr ausgiebig und lecker gewesen. Das Hotel ist etwas abseits im Wald, aber dennoch nur 10 min von der Stadt entfernt. Beim Candle light Dinner im Roten Saloon kann man allerdings noch verbesserungen vornehmen. Ewig lange wartetzeiten für Getränke oder teilweise auch vergessene sachen (Besteck, Getränke, Brot..) auf die man mehrmals aufmerksam machen musste. Aber an sich war das Essen sehr lecker 😋 Schönes Wochenende für mich und mein Partner gewesen, gerne wieder.

Anlässlich einer Familienfeier (10 Personen) waren wir im Dorotheenhof zum Martinsgansessen „verabredet“. Was soll ich sagen?! Es war fantastisch. Für uns war bereits ein Tisch super schön hergerichtet. Wir wurden platziert und hatten einen Service sondergleichen. Ein ganz besonderes Lob gilt hier unserer überaus aufmerksamen und freundlichen Bedienung. Weiter geht’s mit dem Lob an die Küche. Die Gans war fantastisch! Rotkraut und Klöße perfekt. Der Kloß konnte „schwimmen“, wenn er gewollt hätte - klassisch thüringische Küche. Unser Jüngster meinte: „das schmeckt ja wie bei Oma…“ Kindermund tut Wahrheit kund… Erwähnen möchte ich auch den Gruß aus der Küche, die Gänsekleinsuppe und den Panacottanachtisch mit Maronencrunch… Ein rundum gelungenes Martinsgansessen, in tollem Ambiente, bester Küche und persönlichem Service. Vielen Dank dafür - von der ganzen (satten + glücklichen) Familie!

Ein wirklich schönes Hotel um mal richtig zu entspannen. Personal sehr freundlich. Frühstück auch klasse. Sehr gute Auswahl. Auf den Zimmern hat man seine Ruhe. Schön eingerichtet.

Die Zimmer sind topp! Doch ein Fliegengitter vorm Fenster wäre toll, zumindest im Innenhof! Ich hatte mit schlaflosen Nächten wegen Mückengefiepse am Ohr zu tun. Essen echt super! Mein Partner war begeistert von den Fleischgerichten: zart und schmackhaft. Großes Kompliment an die Küche! Der Service ist rundum freundlich. Wir wurden hier sehr verwöhnt!!
