Just a perfect place after a good hike! We enjoyed Bavarian food: Kaiserschmarrn and Wildgulasch with Spätzle. Would definitely recommend and would love to come back! 😍

Highly recommended. The view is amazing, as is the service. And the Kaiserschmarrn is a dream.

We sat on the side of the balcony – nice and sunny and pleasantly quiet. We ate the homemade cheese and apricot cake and cheese and blueberry cake: really delicious, not too sweet, and a decent size. The espresso and shandy were also excellent. The staff were prompt and super friendly. A definite recommendation!

Oh my God, we were so glad we were able to stop at the Rohrkopfhütte; we desperately needed a break. It was a great location with a fantastic view and a large terrace, but we were lucky to get a table. There were vegan options on the menu, and we were very satisfied. They could perhaps hire one more server, as the wait times were quite long. But with that view and the perfect weather, it wasn't a problem.

Super nice hut – like-new wood finish – great view – great food – friendly service. I can't comment on the rooms, as I was coming down from the Tegelberg Ks and used the hut as a welcome stopover 🙂

Stopped for lunch on our hike. We had a mixed snack and Kaiserschmarrn (sweet pancakes). Both were very good. The service could have been a bit better, but it was also busy. Overall, though, a nice place to take a break and enjoy the view.

The perfect way to end the via ferrata. Delicious Kaiserschmarrn (sweet pancakes) or caramelized Rohrkopfschmarrn (a type of pancake with a smoky crust) and standard drinks. Service was friendly, as you'd expect. In good weather, it's a perfect stop before heading back down.

Friendly staff, even after 6 p.m. We still got a wheat beer. Okay, it was more of a half liter, but totally fine. Great new hut with a fantastic view. Quick to reach, even for inexperienced hikers.

It's a hotspot surrounded by stunning nature, of course. Accordingly, we weren't alone at the hut. 😉But we liked how the staff handled the stress and the concept worked. We had no problem finding two places for a snack. The wait time for ordering and serving was short, and the surroundings were a wonderful distraction. We can highly recommend the hut.

Well, how best to rate the hut? It's not that easy. The quality of the food is definitely one of the positives. You can't complain about that. Tasty and well presented. We can definitely recommend it. Cake, soup, snacks and spaetzle were all good. However, the service and kitchen processes don't seem to be quite right. We completely understand the wait on a Sunday. And you can't get staff everywhere, but the fact that 7 people got their food every 10 minutes after a total of 1 1/2 hours is pretty crazy, and the 7th person was then completely forgotten. After asking the waitress where the food was, she wanted to ask, but that didn't happen either. She only inquired with the second waitress and said it had been forgotten. The ladies' restaurant also ran out of toilet paper and had to be asked for from the men's restaurant. Unfortunately, a bit disappointing.

Of course, work comes before pleasure, and here, that means the hike up. Expect at least a good hour's walk, some of it quite steep through the shady forest, but it's worth it: the view from the Rohrkopfhütte's new terrace of Hohenschwangau, Lake Alpsee, and the mountains is simply breathtaking! The food here is also quite tolerable, with local dishes and small plates, freshly prepared with good ingredients. This time we had Kaiserschmarrn and lentils with wiener sausages.

What a lovely mountain hut this is! It looks like it's been recently renovated. It has a huge terrace, and everything ran smoothly. We found it a bit stuffy inside, so we enjoyed a delicious, very generous apple strudel and Kaiserschmarrn outside with a breathtaking view. With these portions, you'll definitely be full. But it was also really delicious. The prices are reasonable, and you might think this is a tourist trap because there are so few mountain huts, but that's not the case. Go check this out with your department!

We stopped in during a hike. This is an absolutely recommendable alpine hut. A beautiful location with fantastic views, friendly and attentive staff, and comfortable seating both inside and outside. Delicious food. The overall impression is very clean and well-maintained.

We took the Tegelbergbahn cable car up and then hiked down. Huge respect to everyone who hikes up there. We stopped for a break at the Rohrkopfhütte. The location is beautifully decorated, and the view is fantastic. I would especially like to mention the Kaiserschmarrn (sweet pancakes). It was extremely delicious (worth the climb and descent).

In any case, a lovely ambiance, everything is nicely decorated. The food looks great too. Personally, I found the pancake soup a bit bland. The compote with the Schmarrn had a very strong spice, clove I think. I wish that had been stated on the menu. Clove is one of those strong spices that you either love or hate. For me, it's the former. The service also has room for improvement. Payment only to the boss. OK. But then why didn't she tell the boss (it wasn't busy at the time and we could see from a distance that he wasn't busy). We then had to ask another waitress.

We were at the hut today, and what can I say? Simply GREAT! The service was excellent and the food was perfect. We really enjoyed it and would have liked to stay longer, but the descent back to the valley was still to come. Full marks

After the climb, we stopped at the hut for a drink and were pleasantly surprised. A beautiful, modern but super cozy terrace and incredibly friendly service!

We waited forever to be served. We repeatedly approached someone and were put off. Once we finally got our food and drinks, it was okay. We fully understand that it was busy and therefore very busy, but only one person to take our order is definitely not enough. Coming back from a hike, hungry and thirsty, and having to wait half an hour until you're finally served isn't good.

We were invited to this dreamy cabin over the weekend, and what can I say: It was simply perfect! The service was superbly attentive, the food an absolute delight, and the staff incredibly friendly and welcoming. The cabin itself has a unique charm – cozy, lovingly furnished, and with a view that simply takes your breath away. The atmosphere was fantastic, everything was just perfect, and we felt completely at home from start to finish. A place to relax, enjoy, and celebrate – we'll definitely be back!

We celebrated our 40th birthday with a friend at the Rohrkopfhütte and were not disappointed! It was simply perfect! Very friendly host and staff, the food was delicious and plentiful, and the view was breathtaking! Thank you, Bergbaschdi, for accommodating all our requests so easily. We'll definitely be back.

We went to the hut for breakfast. It was fantastic! Friendly service and a delicious breakfast on the terrace. Perfectly organized, especially given these summer temperatures – not too much on the table, but you can order as much as you like (all included in the price). This way, the sausage, cheese, and butter don't melt away 👍. A wonderful hiking trip that we'll definitely repeat!

This is a breakfast for 4 people for €24 (€96). The photo shows all the dishes for the group of four, which makes you wonder if this is a bad joke or a sad reality? Once and never again, what a cheek!

From the valley station up to the hut, it's about 1.5 hours, with a somewhat challenging climb just before the hut. The food was okay for a hut, but nothing special. The price was reasonable, as the portions were very large. The waiter was unfriendly!

A real highlight! The Rohrkopfhütte offers stunning views, not only of the Tegelberg mountain, but also of the world-famous Neuschwanstein Castle. It's especially beautiful on the spacious terrace, where you can fully enjoy the view. The food is truly delicious, the portions are generous, and the prices are absolutely fair. The friendly service perfectly rounds off the experience. Whether as a stopover during a hike or as a destination for a cozy retreat – this hut is highly recommended. I would love to come back! We hiked for about an hour from the Tegelbergbahn parking lot. There are a few steeper sections, but I found the trail easily (it's a matter of opinion).

The location is great, and the food and drinks look very good. However, it's a bit of a gamble to get anything here when it's busy. Unfortunately, there are far too few staff for all the visitors. A shame!

We hiked there with our dog from the Forggensee campsite (Brunnen) and back. It took us a good five hours to walk and we stayed there for an hour. The food was really good and the staff friendly.

After a hike on a beautiful trail, there is nothing better than sitting on the balcony of this beautiful hut with a great view, enjoying a delicious drink and eating a really good meal :)

We made a short descent today and arrived at the hut around 2:30 p.m. The waitresses, the runners and the bar staff welcomed us warmly and despite the stress and many guests it went super quickly, thank you very much for letting us be your guests, there were nine of us in the restaurant, with children and grandchildren, the Bismarck and Schnepf families.

My dream! Tasty vegetarian food. Good prices for grand view on Neuschwanstein! Kind service. Enjoy!

Very tasty food, terrace with a great view and a cozy lounge. Everyone was very friendly, the food came quickly. There is something for everyone on the extensive menu, from cheese spaetzle to pretzel carpaccio to a crisp salad plate. Can be easily combined with a hike on the Guardian Angel Trail. We'll definitely come back 😊

The Alm not only offers a fantastic view of the surrounding peaks, but also a very tasty Kaiserschmarrn. Slightly caramelized on the outside, fluffy on the inside – simply heavenly. The cozy atmosphere, the friendly staff and the wonderful nature all around make the visit perfect. If you're in the area, you should definitely stop by - the Kaiserschmarrn alone is worth the hike!

The Rohrkopfhütte is one of the most beautiful mountain huts I know. It is located at an altitude of 1300 m and can only be reached by bike/e-bike or on foot. The food and drinks are excellent and it's always worth going up. With the e-bike you can get to the top relatively quickly in around 15-20 minutes. The outside area to sit in is really nice and everything inside is also very quaint and clean. The view of both royal castles and the Alpsee and its mountain world is simply breathtaking…

Such a beautiful mountain cabin! Nice service, delicious, rich snacks and a Kaiserschmarrn that deserves the attribute “divine”. What are we going to do when we get back home? Look for a comparable Kaiserschmarrn. This probably won't work, so we'll probably have to come back. 😊

A beautiful path, whether from above or below. Great service and a very friendly hut owner. The breakfast is also really great, the last time we were able to enjoy it there after the climb, even though we weren't registered. If you ask nicely, you can get a free second helping, but in the Allgäu nobody likes to throw anything away :) It's also great here in the afternoon and the food is highly recommended. We always enjoy coming here.

We stopped at the Rohrkopfhütte on the descent from the Tegelbergbahn mountain station and were very satisfied. The service was friendly and the food was delicious. The wild herb dumplings are highly recommended. We'd love to come back.

The hut is completely overcrowded on nice days. Unfortunately, you also notice this in the service. The few staff are running like crazy, but they can't do it alone. Unfortunately, the lack of staff is also noticeable here. The hut is definitely in a beautiful location.

Very nice hut in Schwangau. I had dinner there with a friend last weekend and I really enjoyed it. The interior is very cozy and inviting. When we arrived the fireplace was on and we felt warm straight away. The service is nice and courteous. The portions are large and super tasty and you can't complain about anything. Everything is great! I'll be back :)

We were at the fondue evening at the hut with the family and then spontaneously ended up being one more person, which really wasn't a problem at all. The hut looks really nice and has definitely been renovated recently. The staff was really very nice and friendly. There's really nothing wrong with the food, it was all really good. In addition, you would have had seconds for everything. So we would come again :)

I think it's a shame that if you want to stop at a hut on a Sunday when the weather is really nice, you even try at lunchtime and again in the evening and are not served at all. We left after waiting 1/2 hour each time. We weren't the only ones either! On a day like this I know that I need staff!! Thank God there are other huts

A bitter disappointment – ​​never again! Our visit to the Rohrkopfhütte was an absolute disaster! We were looking forward to a hearty meal, but the “alpine feast” turned out to be a nightmare. The jacket potato was hard, half raw and simply inedible. The salad? Not even seasoned – a loveless pile of greens on the plate. The drink came in a sticky glass, which gave the impression that hygiene was a foreign concept here. Overall, the experience was hard to beat in terms of outrageousness. We could definitely have saved ourselves the arduous journey to the hut and the money. One thing is certain for us: This was our first and last visit! The only thing that's good is the view.

We were there on Saturday lunchtime. It was very crowded and the staff couldn't keep up with the orders, so we bought a drink from the vending machine and made ourselves comfortable outside.

After a long hike we found a really nice little hut here. The staff was very nice and friendly, the food was delicious, the prices were great and the view was a dream. We'd love to come back.

We went on a great snow hike to the Rohrkopfhütte. From the Tegelbergbahn valley station to the Rohrkopfhütte it is only approx. 3.1 kilometers and 500 meters in altitude. Can be done with a bit of fitness. Great views of the Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castles are included along the way. The service at the hut was excellent, friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious, everything was highly recommended!

Awesome Lunch After an Amazing Hike! After a really fun hike up to the Rohrkopfhütte, I couldn’t have asked for a better lunch. The views from the hut were absolutely stunning, and the food was just as incredible. I had the Käsespätzle, and wow—it was so good! For dessert, I went for the Kaiserschmarrn, and it was perfect. Both dishes were super tasty and felt homemade. I’m already looking forward to coming back!
