Very tasty food, terrace with a great view and a cozy lounge. Everyone was very friendly, the food came quickly. There is something for everyone on the extensive menu, from cheese spaetzle to pretzel carpaccio to a crisp salad plate. Can be easily combined with a hike on the Guardian Angel Trail. We'll definitely come back 😊

The Alm not only offers a fantastic view of the surrounding peaks, but also a very tasty Kaiserschmarrn. Slightly caramelized on the outside, fluffy on the inside – simply heavenly. The cozy atmosphere, the friendly staff and the wonderful nature all around make the visit perfect. If you're in the area, you should definitely stop by - the Kaiserschmarrn alone is worth the hike!

The Rohrkopfhütte is one of the most beautiful mountain huts I know. It is located at an altitude of 1300 m and can only be reached by bike/e-bike or on foot. The food and drinks are excellent and it's always worth going up. With the e-bike you can get to the top relatively quickly in around 15-20 minutes. The outside area to sit in is really nice and everything inside is also very quaint and clean. The view of both royal castles and the Alpsee and its mountain world is simply breathtaking…

A must-visit on every Allgäu holiday.

Such a beautiful mountain cabin! Nice service, delicious, rich snacks and a Kaiserschmarrn that deserves the attribute “divine”. What are we going to do when we get back home? Look for a comparable Kaiserschmarrn. This probably won't work, so we'll probably have to come back. 😊

A beautiful path, whether from above or below. Great service and a very friendly hut owner. The breakfast is also really great, the last time we were able to enjoy it there after the climb, even though we weren't registered. If you ask nicely, you can get a free second helping, but in the Allgäu nobody likes to throw anything away :) It's also great here in the afternoon and the food is highly recommended. We always enjoy coming here.

We stopped at the Rohrkopfhütte on the descent from the Tegelbergbahn mountain station and were very satisfied. The service was friendly and the food was delicious. The wild herb dumplings are highly recommended. We'd love to come back.

The hut is completely overcrowded on nice days. Unfortunately, you also notice this in the service. The few staff are running like crazy, but they can't do it alone. Unfortunately, the lack of staff is also noticeable here. The hut is definitely in a beautiful location.

Very nice hut in Schwangau. I had dinner there with a friend last weekend and I really enjoyed it. The interior is very cozy and inviting. When we arrived the fireplace was on and we felt warm straight away. The service is nice and courteous. The portions are large and super tasty and you can't complain about anything. Everything is great! I'll be back :)

We were at the fondue evening at the hut with the family and then spontaneously ended up being one more person, which really wasn't a problem at all. The hut looks really nice and has definitely been renovated recently. The staff was really very nice and friendly. There's really nothing wrong with the food, it was all really good. In addition, you would have had seconds for everything. So we would come again :)

I think it's a shame that if you want to stop at a hut on a Sunday when the weather is really nice, you even try at lunchtime and again in the evening and are not served at all. We left after waiting 1/2 hour each time. We weren't the only ones either! On a day like this I know that I need staff!! Thank God there are other huts

A bitter disappointment – ​​never again! Our visit to the Rohrkopfhütte was an absolute disaster! We were looking forward to a hearty meal, but the “alpine feast” turned out to be a nightmare. The jacket potato was hard, half raw and simply inedible. The salad? Not even seasoned – a loveless pile of greens on the plate. The drink came in a sticky glass, which gave the impression that hygiene was a foreign concept here. Overall, the experience was hard to beat in terms of outrageousness. We could definitely have saved ourselves the arduous journey to the hut and the money. One thing is certain for us: This was our first and last visit! The only thing that's good is the view.

We were there on Saturday lunchtime. It was very crowded and the staff couldn't keep up with the orders, so we bought a drink from the vending machine and made ourselves comfortable outside.

After a long hike we found a really nice little hut here. The staff was very nice and friendly, the food was delicious, the prices were great and the view was a dream. We'd love to come back.

We went on a great snow hike to the Rohrkopfhütte. From the Tegelbergbahn valley station to the Rohrkopfhütte it is only approx. 3.1 kilometers and 500 meters in altitude. Can be done with a bit of fitness. Great views of the Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castles are included along the way. The service at the hut was excellent, friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious, everything was highly recommended!

Awesome Lunch After an Amazing Hike! After a really fun hike up to the Rohrkopfhütte, I couldn’t have asked for a better lunch. The views from the hut were absolutely stunning, and the food was just as incredible. I had the Käsespätzle, and wow—it was so good! For dessert, I went for the Kaiserschmarrn, and it was perfect. Both dishes were super tasty and felt homemade. I’m already looking forward to coming back!

We love the Rohrkopfhütte. It's not a real hike up, but more of a walk, but still very beautiful. The food tastes great (especially Kaiserschmarrn) and is well prepared. The hut is also very nice and modern and rustically furnished. Worth a trip in summer and winter. From there you can either hike to the Tegelberghütte or take a sleigh down in winter. We think that the Rohrkopfhütte is the best and most modern in the area.

The hike was easy for our family with children to manage. Beautiful views and great atmosphere! The mountain hut is in a great location and is really nicely equipped and very comfortable! Despite the cold weather, we were able to sit outside comfortably on furs and blankets. Despite the holiday and the very nice weather, we managed to get a table without any problem! Unfortunately, the service that day was poorly organized - we had to wait 45 minutes for our order to be taken - a real challenge for hungry children. However, after ordering it was very quick and uncomplicated! The food was delicious and the portions were generous. Little things like dried bread or apple slices that taste like onions in the apple strudel are not the end of the world for us - but the delayed order does mean a star deduction. Recommended for excursions - going down on the sleigh is fun for young and old!

This mountain hut is amazing. Excellent food, super friendly staff. Just cozy up there. First we had a really good pancake soup. And then the main course is the Kässpatzen and the dairyman’s plate. Very highly recommended. What's more, today the whole hut smelled of cheese fondue. Be sure to form your own opinion about it. But I promise it's awesome. My new number 1 for Kässpatzen in the Allgäu 🤤🤤🤤

At the weekend we went on a nice hike from Schwangau to the Rohrkopfhütte and stopped there. The sun terrace is covered in snow so there are fewer seating options. Luckily we quickly found a table and were able to rest directly in the sunshine. The two of us ordered a Rohrkopfschmarrn for 15 euros (the portion was generous and filled us both) - I have never eaten a better one! The staff was stressed because all the seats were occupied and many people were queuing and waiting and someone was probably sick. A great place to rest and enjoy the sun and mountains. Very clean and pleasant toilets. Rooms cannot be assessed as the stay is only for rest.

Food was so far the best I've tasted in Bavaria.

Worthwhile stopover on the way there or back to Tegelberg. Large, sunny terrace with great views. A menu with a huge selection and an attentive, funny host! The hut is relatively easy to reach, so it's not surprising that when the weather is nice on the weekend, all hell breaks loose. I find it strange to rate a hut or restaurant poorly because you didn't get a seat. My tip: next time just get up earlier or wait until a spot becomes available!

On a beautiful sunny day we were just unlucky with the excessively long waiting times...the staff did their best, but there were far too few staff available. We were there for dinner after lunchtime.

Great ambience and a very nice terrace where you can enjoy delicious food and drinks in the sunshine. Even if the terrace is completely full, you don't have to wait too long for your order. The entire team clearly enjoys their work and is very friendly. You like to stay there longer.

We went hiking at Tegelberg and were happy to have found a good opportunity to grab a bite to eat. But it turned out that you can only sit outside, in the blazing sun. If you could... All the seats were already taken. You are not allowed to sit inside. The staff had told me, quote: "Well, you don't do anything inside.". By the way, the brass music didn't even make it bearable for me to sit in the shade of the hut. I will avoid this restaurant in the future as the "bullying head hut" in mind.

The hut is very nicely located. Unfortunately, that was it. We were there on November 1st. Here we climbed up from the valley in fantastic weather. All hell broke loose outside and there was no space. That's why we went in. After 10 minutes the neighboring table took pity on asking and replied that there was no service inside so we had to look for something outside. It's not a fact that there are 100 tables inside, there are maybe 5 and there are also dishes at one stand. I have never experienced such poor service at a mountain hut. It would have been an option to order at the bar, but obviously there are enough people coming. We are then left without ski water for the children or the isotonic cold drink we had hoped for. Very disappointing.

Very nice boss, I was hiking with my son yesterday and got an ice cream from the boss. Since he only had 2 to choose from, the ice cream was given to us as a gift, my son and I were thrilled. That's why we thank you with a good review :)

Super friendly staff with a great view

We were there for the fifth time last weekend... unfortunately the service and the quality of the service runs like a common thread through the season.. It was busy this time, yes.. but after we asked the fourth waitress to take the order and then heard again that she wasn't responsible, we left again after 29 minutes of waiting.. a shame because it wasn't the first time this year the service is bad.. it only worked for a while when there was nothing going on.. Tip: 1-2 people take the drinks, 1 person serves the food and the others...then you wouldn't hear constantly, I'm not responsible...just one Suggestion from me... The location and prices are good, the food looks good too.. At the moment I have to say you can't even begin to get to the other hut in the immediate vicinity... That's my opinion. I'd be happy if things got better again

I've been coming to Rohrkopf for around 20 years and I have to say that the food really gets me! You don't find something like that often.

What has been forgotten here is what a hut in the mountains is all about. My children 7 & 9 and I dared to climb to the top of the Tegelberg today and on the descent everyone was looking forward to a break in the Rohrkopfhütte. As usual, the terrace was crowded with tourists. Everything was empty inside and when you asked for drinks/food you were put off. If you don't have a seat outside, you won't be served, inside (everything is empty) you won't get anything. All right, it's a disgrace on the part of the host if they don't even let children drink anything. We then left without any entertainment, sad. The point of a hut in the mountains is clearly missed.

Great hike with a view of the Forggensee, Bannwaldsee, the royal castles to the Rohrkopfhütte. Super friendly host. Very tasty dishes. Kaiserschmarrn, Vesperplatte and Käsespätzle are definitely recommended. The other guests' meals all looked very tasty too.

It was breathtaking, especially getting up to the top, it only took 1 1/4 hours, but then being rewarded at the Rohrhütte and enjoying the view was simply fantastic and feeling the warmth. I can't rate the room because we continued up We hiked to the viewing platform and achieved what was such an inner satisfaction and you have to experience the view for yourself.

We didn't stay the night here, only stopped for snacks and drinks on our way up the mountain. What delicious food and friendly service to go with the exquisite view! They could easily rely on the view and serve terrible food, but everything was amazing.

Thanks for nothing! When we arrived today, the nice boss of the house was sitting at the counter looking completely bored. When we asked if we could sit inside because everything outside was full of wasps, he was already completely pissed! And directed us outside into the shade; there are no wasps there either (according to him). Well that said, we waited outside for over 23 minutes for service, unfortunately the girls didn't have time for us as they were having fun chatting outside the door. They looked at us often but the conversation was certainly more important. After waiting 23 minutes, we left without eating or drinking and didn't say goodbye because we didn't want to disturb the staff.

The strenuous climb was worth it. Great ambience and the terrace is simply magnificent. Unfortunately we had fog and couldn't enjoy the wonderful view. But we enjoyed the break in the Rohrkopfhütte with coffee and a large piece of cake. Prices moderate, we found it OK and would come back.

Nice restaurant about halfway up or down the Kegelberg. Typical Bavarian specialties, absolutely okay in terms of price, there is a great view, service could be a little more on the ball, we were ignored for a long time, then orders were taken incorrectly and things were forgotten, but it's definitely worth a visit to take a break case

Really good food, options for vegan as well with a lovely lentil stew and potato soup, the pancakes in the picture were also really good. Best food I've had in germany so far...

The Rohrkopfhütte is always worth a trip. There are several advancement options, e.g. B. via the Drehhütte or the Guardian Angel Trail. The staff is very friendly, the food is very good and sufficient, we are always at the top. Until next time 😉

I was eating fondue at the Rohrkopfhütte in winter 2023. Since I have celiac disease, I have to eat strictly gluten-free. I clarified everything over the phone in advance and was also able to clarify the last questions with the service staff at the hut. So I was allowed to eat both the cheese and broth fondue. The side dishes included meat, vegetables, fruit, ham and various dips. As a starter there were various spreads with a salad garnish. I brought my own bread because my request was at very short notice. For dessert there was a baked apple with vanilla sauce. 🤤 The price is a bit high, especially because drinks come on top. All in all, it was a very successful evening with lots of good food and super friendly staff. You'll be happy to come back here! A huge THANK YOU goes to Basti and Oli! 🙏🏼❤️

Very rarely have you been so disappointed for so much money. So first of all, I was there with locals who were more disappointed than ever before. The food was really incredibly bad. The pretzel was anything but not fresh. Same with the bread. Every other food has no taste and the prices are just not right at all. Added to this are the waitresses, so sorry there was nothing going on and under stress I would have understood everything. But one makes a face, looks like she hasn't slept in 6 days and immediately forgets to give up one of three dishes and the other says "everyone here does what they can and I can only clear away glasses..." I have no idea if that's something like that in a restaurant heard. If you call something like that high-quality cuisine...it was definitely a shame.
